In a surprising move for the crypto community, Patrick L. Riley, the CEO of Reaper Financial and Chairman of the BLOC Oversight Committee, has announced his candidacy for the President of the United States of America in the upcoming 2024 elections.

Riley took to Twitter to share the news, expressing his commitment to bringing real solutions from the blockchain and technology sector to the forefront of American politics.

Riley’s tweet grabbed the attention of his followers and caught the eyes of several influential figures in the crypto world.

Riley Seeks XRP Community’s Support

Notably, the aspiring US president tagged major crypto exchanges Coinbase, Binance US, and Gemini, signaling his intent to involve the industry’s key players in his campaign. Also, Riley included prominent figures from the XRP community in his intent announcement.

Specifically, these figures are Ripple’s CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, Ripple’s CTO, David Schwartz, and pro-XRP lawyer John Deaton. At the time of writing, none of the tagged crypto personalities have commented on Riley’s presidential ambition.

Nonetheless, the recognition of Ripple, alongside Riley’s status as a blockchain leader, garnered support from crypto enthusiasts, who see his candidacy as an opportunity for significant changes within the financial and technological landscape.

A passionate crypto enthusiast, James Anthony expressed his excitement over the prospect of a fintech blockchain CEO taking a shot at running the United States. Anthony voiced his confidence in Riley’s ability to bring about transformative changes, stating, “I would put my money on some significant changes taking place.”

Yassin Mobarak, the founder of crypto-focused firm Dizer Capital, also chimed in, pledging his support to Riley’s campaign, contingent on his ability to make it to the general election and secure a place on the ballot in Texas, a key state in the electoral process.

As Riley’s official candidacy announcement approaches this Friday, the crypto community and the nation eagerly await his detailed plans and policies. It is worth mentioning that Riley is among the rank of the few US politicians with a favorable view of the crypto industry.
