The Shiba Inu community scam detector has warned the ShibArmy over information and links shared by the rebranded SHIB metaverse account.

The teeming ShibArmy has been issued a safety alert by the popular Shiba Inu community scam reporter, Susbarium.

Per the Sunday disclosure, the Twitter account belonging to the Shib Metaverse project is now being controlled by relegated team members. It revealed that an ex-SHIB ecosystem leader had renamed the account. Notably, the account is currently branded as “Waggles Crypto Goods.”

Owing to this, Susbarium implied that the latest links and information provided by the handle are not from the official frontrunners of the Shiba Inu ecosystem. For safety purposes, community members were asked to always double-check information and exercise extreme caution when engaging with any links shared by Waggles Crypto Goods account.

Former SHIB Metaverse Team Members React

Responding to this disclosure, a former Shiba Inu ecosystem official, UB, submitted that the Waggles Crypto Goods project isn’t a scam.

He noted that Makeshift, a real toy company, developed the project. He further claimed that the products designed for SHIB and Shiboshis would be sold on a safe website.

According to him, he designed the brand in December when he was still an official member of the Shib ecosystem. Notably, UB was a member of the Shib Metaverse creative team and the Shiba Inu defense team.

Regardless, Susbarium blasted UB for renaming an account belonging to the Shiba Inu community without a consensus. They noted that the former team would have handed over the company account after being fired or leaving the SHIB team.

Developments With SHIB: The Metaverse

Amid this occurrence, SHIB: The Metaverse project introduced in March 2022 is edging towards its official launch day. In April, the Shiba Inu metaverse advisor Marcie Jastrow assured the community of real progress this year. This was closely followed by the release of new details about the project.

As reported by The Crypto Basic, she added that new designs would be unveiled for the project in the coming months. In light of this, an investor recently purchased 73 lands in SHIB Metaverse, triggering excitement in the Shiba Inu community and reactions from Jastrow. Meanwhile, the purchase came shortly after Shytoshi Kusama unveiled the new Metaverse branding and website.
