DaVinci claims scammers affiliated with PawSwap are behind Shibarium attacks.

Shiba Inu’s pseudonymous Discord admin “DaVinci” has singled out PawSwap as the entity responsible for funding attacks on Shibarium, SHIB’s L2 blockchain.

“Just to clarify: The scam responsible for funding attacks on Shibarium goes by the name Pawswap. We refer to it as scamswap or pawsh*t,” DaVinci said in a recent Discord message shared by a Shiba Inu enthusiast on the X platform.

DaVinci alleges that PawSwap infiltrated the Shiba Inu community by impersonating a similar project he believes is legitimate, PawZone. Notably, both projects’ native tokens have the ticker PAW.

The Shiba Inu’s Discord admin claimed the motive behind the impersonation was to enable PawSwap to actively attack Shibarium and also disseminate malicious information about the L2 project.

Furthermore, DaVinci alleged that while PawZone is a legitimate project, PawSwap, on the other hand, is a scam. The Discord server admin clarified that the statement represents his personal opinion.

The development triggered reactions from Shiba Inu community members, with many declaring support for PawZone.

Attacks Spread Shibarium-Related FUDs

Recall that bad actors took advantage of Shibarium’s technical issues to spread false information. As reported earlier, Shibarium encountered a technical issue due to a high influx of users.

Following the incident, attackers shared a purportedly fake screenshot about Shiba Inu’s lead developer Shytoshi Kusama, admitting that there was an issue with Shibarium Bridge.

Expectedly, Kusama dismissed this FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, and doubt), emphasizing that the screenshot was false.

In addition, Shiba Inu’s top developer, Kaal Dhairya, said he would call on the team behind the X platform (formerly Twitter) to identify the culprit behind the FUD.

Shibarium Approaches 2M Transactions

Meanwhile, Shibarium is running smoothly at the time of writing this line. A total of 1,125,603 (1.12 million) wallet addresses have interacted with the L2 blockchain, processing an astounding 1,916,938 (1.91 million) transactions.

This suggests that Shibarium is less than 100K transactions away from hitting 2 million total transactions.

According to data from DefiLlama, approximately $739,000 worth of assets have been locked on Shibarium. The leading decentralized finance project on Shibarium is MARSWAP, with a total value locked (TVL) of $350,955.
