Shiba Inu’s lead developer has stirred heightened expectations among SHIB enthusiasts as he promised to reveal a major announcement by next week.
Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer of Shiba Inu, has sparked widespread speculation among SHIB enthusiasts following his recent post about an upcoming “year-ending surprise.”
Shiba Inu Upcoming Major Announcement
In what he tagged as “leak time,” Kusama revealed that the team will make a significant announcement by next week. According to Kusama, the upcoming reveal will be the team’s end-of-year surprise for the community.
To give SHIB enthusiasts an idea of what to expect, Kusama disclosed that the upcoming major announcement will prove that Shiba Inu is leading innovation within the Web 3.0 space.
Notably, Kusama’s remark was shared in a recent tweet by Shiba Inu’s marketing lead Lucie.

Since the post went viral, members of the Shiba Inu community have taken to the comment section to give their predictions for the upcoming announcement.
The predictions range from a new technology release to potential partnerships that could bolster the widespread adoption of Shiba Inu.
The news comes a week after Kusama was named among the top 50 most influential people in the crypto space. This recognition was due to his role in transforming Shiba Inu into a key decentralized finance (DeFi) player.
The team behind the award praised Kusama and Shiba Inu team members for building a decentralized network state capable of dominating the Web 3.0 and DeFi sectors.
For context, Shibarium, the highly-anticipated L2 scaling solution, was the most prominent technology Shiba Inu launched this year.
It is interesting to note that Shibarium has become one of the leading blockchain solutions in the industry, with its adoption soaring significantly in recent times. The network boasts 111.53 million total transactions and over 1.3 million wallet addresses at press time.
Upcoming Shibarium Christmas Giveaway Party
It is worth mentioning that the period slated for the reveal of the so-called big announcement corresponds with the upcoming “special Shibarium Christmas Giveaway party.”
The upcoming giveaway party will be held on December 20 at 17:00 (UTC) in an X Spaces.
As revealed by Lucie, the giveaway party will allow SHIB enthusiasts to hang out with top Shiba Inu official partners, including Bad Idea AI (BAD), SHIB-themed fast food Welly, and Shibacals.
In a recent X post, Lucie revealed that event organizers will giveaway 10 Shiba Inu-themed Tangem wallets and another 10 BAD-themed wallets from the crypto storage provider.
