The tally of crypto market participants holding more than 0 XRP has experienced notable growth of 102% over three years, surpassing the five million mark.
Prominent market intelligence Santiment has drawn public attention to this development in a recent post on X.
Non-zero XRP Wallets Growing 102%
In the post, Santiment revealed that the XRP Ledger (XRPL) has achieved a significant milestone, boasting 5.02 million distinct wallets. Specifically, these are wallets with non-zero balance of XRP coins.
Per the disclosure, this figure represents a historic high in the XRP Ledger’s over ten years of public trading.Â
Furthermore, Santiment observed that the number of wallets holding non-zero XRP balances has more than doubled in the last three years. Specifically, this count has increased by 104% since February 10, 2021.
Remarkably, the upward trend in the growth rate of XRP holders did not commence in 2021. According to the market intelligence platform, the number of crypto wallets with balances exceeding zero XRP has tripled since May 29, 2019.
Put differently, the count of crypto enthusiasts holding XRP has surged by over 300% in five years.
Statistics of XRP Holders
Significantly, data from XRPL’s prominent explorer corroborated the findings from Santiment, indicating that active XRP wallets now total 5,031,350. These wallets collectively hold 99.98 billion XRP, contributing to a fully diluted valuation of $53 billion.
Remarkably, over 40 billion XRP tokens are under escrow services, while 59.46 billion tokens are in circulation. Additionally, an impressive 12,057,586 XRP tokens have been wiped out of circulation through burns from transaction fees.
Moreover, XRPScan data indicated that Ripple possesses the top 12 largest XRP wallets. Alongside Ripple, significant XRP holdings are also attributed to Binance, UPbit, Uphold, and Kraken wallets.
Among the notable figures listed in the top 50 XRP investors is Chris Larsen, the executive chairman of Ripple Labs. Larsen commands ownership of over two billion XRP in five wallets.
