Shiba Inu marketing lead Lucie has taken to X to tease the upcoming launch of the cryptocurrency’s play-to-earn collectible card game (CCG) Shiba Eternity.

Interesting Details About Shiba Eternity
The prominent Shiba Inu marketing specialist revealed some exciting details about the Shibarium version of the game. According to Lucie, Shiba Eternity players can earn the upcoming reward token TREAT by merely playing the game.
Despite Shiba Inu raising $12 million from selling TREAT to VCs, Lucie emphasized that the token has not yet launched.
She noted that players need to own Shiba Inu’s NFT Shiboshi to earn rewards within Shiba Eternity. Previously, Lucie confirmed that Shiboshi would serve as a prerequisite for engaging in certain reward-generating activities within the game. This would subsequently enhance user engagement and contribute to the broader Shiba Inu ecosystem.
Furthermore, she highlighted SHEboshis’ (SHEB) role within the game, noting that the DN404 token would be crucial for future breeding. According to Lucie, the breeding act would create new virtual puppies using the DN404 standard.
Besides being used in breeding, Lucie mentioned that SHEB would also play other roles in Shiba Eternity.
How Shiba Eternity Can Contribute to SHIB Burns
In addition, Lucie disclosed how Shiba Eternity would contribute to the ongoing SHIB burn campaign.
Since Shiba Eternity will launch on Shibarium soon, Lucie noted that every transaction within the game requires Bone ShibaSwap (BONE), the network’s official gas fee token.
Consequently, a portion of the transaction fees generated from Shiba Eternity will be used to buy and burn SHIB.
Ongoing Development & Possible Launch Date
For context, Shiba Inu first introduced the non-blockchain version of the game in October 2022. The initial version, which top entertainment company PlaySide Studio developed, allows players to engage in strategic card battles.
Following the game’s success, the development team is building a P2E version that will be deployed on Shibarium. The team has identified and fixed critical Shiba Eternity bugs in preparation for the beta testing scheduled to commence in Q2 2024.
After completing the beta testing, the team will deploy the P2E version of Shiba Eternity on the Shibarium mainnet. At press time, there is still no official date for its mainnet launch. However, Lucie shared an unconfirmed report in December 2023, stating that the game’s mainnet launch could occur this year.
