Prominent Shiba Inu developer Kaal Dhairya has disclosed how builders can expand the Shib ecosystem’s reach to other ecosystems.
The figure emphasized in an X post on August 16 that Shiba Inu is and will always be native to Ethereum.
Notably, the ecosystem builds around the Ethereum network’s robust security and functionality. SHIB is an ERC-20 token, and Shibarium is a layer 2 blockchain on Ethereum. According to Dhairya, this would never change.
Developer Shares Shiba Inu Ecosystem-Friendly Way of Expanding
Nonetheless, for those looking to expand Shiba Inu’s reach to other blockchains, Dhairya has provided an ecosystem-supportive means of achieving this. He shared that developers who want to build SHIB on Base, Solana, or other chains should utilize the official Chainlink CCIP platform.
For the uninitiated, Shiba Inu partnered with Chainlink in December to enhance its cross-chain interoperability. This saw the integration of Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) on the Shibarium network.
Notably, the development opened Shibarium up for broader adoption while giving Shiba Inu-native tokens such as SHIB, BONE, TREAT, and LEASH access to over 12 blockchains through a lock-and-mint process.
Dhairya highlighted that the Shiba Inu ecosystem team has spent their time, resources, and energy on the CCIP system, and utilizing it for expansion would boost the Shiba Inu ecosystem. For context, he highlighted that the protocol burns all four native tokens on Ethereum with every move, overseen in collaboration with Chainlink.
Contribute Back to The Shiba Inu Ecosystem: Developer
Furthermore, Dhairya insisted that using the CCIP system is a contribution to the Shiba Inu ecosystem. He emphasized that it is not just enough to plan SHIB expansion; doing it the official way is also essential.
According to him, it is exploitation if one uses the Shiba Inu brand on other blockchains and does not add value to the original ecosystem.
“Don’t try to take advantage of the Shib brand without giving back,” Dhairya stated.
Meanwhile, this is one of Dhairya’s moves to advocate for the SHIB ecosystem. Earlier in the month, he debunked accusations of selective Shiba Inu-based project support, calling for an ecosystem unity to fight “external pressure.”
On August 5, he emphasized that Shiba Inu was always built for decentralization, lauding the first-ever election since the switch to a fully decentralized organization. The election was for the selection of an interim president and the DAO councils.
