XRP is testing its 20-week EMA near $1.29-$1.34, with a sustained weekly breakdown potentially reopening the path toward the $1 support region.
XRP is trading dangerously close to its 20-week exponential moving average, a level that has become the main support holding the weekly structure together.

A sustained weekly close below that moving average would weaken the current setup and reopen the path toward the psychological $1 region.
XRP currently trades around $1.32, according to CoinMarketCap, after slipping back toward the lower end of its recent range.
The important detail is that the 20-week EMA itself moves with price. While the level was around $1.34 earlier in the year, more recent technical readings place it closer to $1.29-$1.30.
That means the underlying thesis has not changed: XRP needs to keep weekly closes above its short-term weekly trend support.
20-Week EMA Is XRP’s Immediate Line of Defense
The 20-week EMA tracks XRP’s average price over roughly five months while giving more weight to recent candles.
When price trades above a rising or stable 20-week EMA, the level can act as dynamic support.
Once weekly candles begin closing below it, the market is showing that sellers are gaining control over a timeframe much larger than a daily or four-hour chart.
XRP is now testing that area again.
Recent analysis has placed the 20-week EMA near $1.29, while the 50-week EMA sits much higher around $1.52.
That leaves XRP compressed between weekly support below and a much heavier moving-average barrier overhead.
The structure therefore remains fragile even if XRP briefly trades above the 20-week EMA during the week. What matters more is where the weekly candle closes.
Weekly Close Below the EMA Could Reopen $1
A decisive weekly close beneath the 20-week EMA would remove one of the clearest supports between the current price and the $1 psychological region.
That $1 area is important for two reasons. First, it acted as a major base during the earlier 2026 decline. Second, several recent XRP structures have used the sub-$1 to $1 region as the starting point for subsequent rebounds.
From around $1.32, a return to $1 would mean another decline of roughly one-quarter from current levels.
A move toward $1 would not automatically mean XRP’s larger multi-year structure had failed, but it would erase much of the recovery built above the summer lows and shift attention back toward deeper support.
XRP Still Needs to Reclaim the 50-Week EMA
The bullish side of the setup is equally clear.
Defending the 20-week EMA would keep XRP above the lower boundary of its weekly compression. The next meaningful improvement would then require price to recover toward the 50-week EMA around $1.52.
That moving average has repeatedly acted as resistance since XRP’s move toward $1.70.
For now, however, the market is much closer to the lower boundary than the upper one.
The immediate test is whether XRP can keep the weekly candle above the $1.29-$1.34 support zone surrounding the 20-week EMA.
If that area is lost on a sustained weekly basis, $1 becomes the next major level to watch.
