Popular Bitcoin advocate Nebraskan Gooner has expressed a bearish outlook on Cardano, saying ADA will never reach a new all-time high.
His statement reflects growing pessimism about Cardano’s long-term prospects as the token continues to trade significantly below its previous peak.
“ADA will never make a new all time high,” Gooner remarked in an X post yesterday.
Cardano Still Down Over 90% Below Its All-Time High
Cardano reached its all-time high of $3.10 in September 2021 during the previous bull market. However, despite several recovery attempts, ADA has failed to reclaim that level.
Following the U.S. presidential election in November 2024, the token staged a significant rally, climbing to $1.30 before surrendering much of its gains. Similarly, ADA rebounded above $1 at points in 2025 but failed to sustain the recovery, eventually resuming its decline.
At press time, ADA traded at $0.2087, down 93.26% from its previous peak. Consequently, the token would need to rally by roughly 1,385% to revisit $3.10, highlighting the scale of the recovery required.
Against this backdrop, Gooner suggests that he doubts Cardano can overcome its prolonged decline and eventually surpass its previous record. However, he did not provide a specific technical analysis or explain the reasoning behind his prediction.

Growing Concerns Weigh on Cardano’s Outlook
Meanwhile, several developments within the Cardano ecosystem have fueled concerns about the project’s prospects.
Governance disagreements have intensified, while the cancellation of the community’s annual summit and the shutdown of projects such as TapTools have raised questions about the ecosystem’s momentum. Additionally, some prominent community figures have reconsidered their involvement in Cardano.
Earlier this week, community figure Chris O announced his departure as an ecosystem DRep. He also disclosed that ADA no longer constituted his largest holding and criticized the Cardano Foundation over what he described as shortcomings in adoption and its ability to keep pace with competing networks such as Sui.
These developments have further weighed on sentiment surrounding ADA. Nonetheless, although governance challenges and concerns about adoption could hinder the network’s growth, they do not necessarily mean the cryptocurrency will never recover or establish a new all-time high.
Other Analysts Remain Bullish on Cardano
Despite the growing pessimism, some market participants continue to see potential for a long-term recovery. They point to planned network upgrades, including the upcoming Leios mainnet launch, alongside initiatives such as RealFi aimed at boosting Cardano’s DeFi ecosystem.
Prominent crypto analyst Captain, for instance, has offered a sharply contrasting outlook, predicting that ADA could reach a new all-time high of $4 before the end of 2026.
However, this forecast remains speculative, particularly given ADA’s recent price weakness and the extraordinary rally required to reach that target.
