Cardano ‘Ghost Chain’ Claims Challenged as Hoskinson Confirms Adam Back’s Revelation

Cardano supporters are defending the network against claims that it has little real-world use amid ongoing debate over the UTXO model and Ethereum’s early design.

This comes as Blockstream CEO Adam Back said he had advised Ethereum to use the unspent transaction output (UTXO) model before launch. At the time, he warned that Ethereum’s virtual-machine design could cause race conditions.

Interestingly, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson confirmed the conversation, saying, “I can confirm. I was in that call.”

Amid this revelation, Cardano representative Dori said more people in the crypto industry are starting to recognize Cardano’s value after years of criticism. While many critics see Cardano as a “ghost chain” that peaked in 2018, Dori believes new developments are changing that perception.

Dori also praised Cardano’s community, saying many supporters have stayed loyal for years because they believe in the project, rather than simply seeking airdrops or financial rewards.

Gokhshtein Says ADA Deserves More Attention

Joining the conversation, David Gokhshtein argues that Cardano deserves more attention, especially because of its plans to connect with Bitcoin. Gokhshtein said understanding Bitcoin’s role in decentralized payments and Cardano’s efforts to connect with it could help people take ADA more seriously.

Cardano’s Bitcoin integration aims to let users access Bitcoin-based funds and assets through Cardano applications without changing Bitcoin’s core software. Essentially, this would bring Cardano’s DeFi services to BTC holders.

Cardano’s technology supports smart contracts, digital assets, and financial applications such as decentralized exchanges and lending platforms.

Gokhshtein also pointed to several developments that could support Cardano’s growth. These include Bitcoin integration, wider DeFi and stablecoin use, the Hydra scaling project, and governance upgrades that give ADA holders more influence over the network.

However, he acknowledged that these developments do not guarantee a rise in ADA’s price. Bitcoin’s performance, regulations, and actual use of Cardano’s applications will also play a role. Despite these risks, Gokhshtein believes ADA will rise more sharply than many investors expect during the current bull market.

Why the UTXO Debate Matters to Cardano

Bitcoin uses the UTXO model to track available funds, while Ethereum uses an account-based system. Cardano uses an advanced version of UTXO, called eUTXO, which supports smart contracts and programmable transactions.

The debate highlights how these blockchains process transactions and run applications. Meanwhile, for Cardano, the real challenge is turning its technology and plans to connect with Bitcoin into more users, more funds, and greater activity on its network.

Supporters like Dori and Gokhshtein believe these developments show that Cardano has more to offer than its critics suggest.
