XRP Reaching $200–$400 Attributed to Forbes Should Be Disregarded, Says Expert

XRP community commentator “All Things XRP” has once again called out misleading price speculation circulating within the XRP ecosystem.

This time, the issue concerns a false claim attributed to Forbes, suggesting that XRP might reach $200 to $400 within the next four weeks. Although Forbes has made no such prediction, the statement continues to circulate within the XRP community, with some members still sharing it.

With such unverified statements making the rounds on social media, internal criticism has emerged, highlighting how they fuel unrealistic expectations.

“You’re Hurting the XRP Community with Fake Predictions”

All Things XRP expressed frustration, stating that XRP community members who continue to post this misinformation are doing more harm than good. “You’re hurting,” he said. The analyst emphasized that the community is tired of baseless hype and now seeks depth, accuracy, and effort, not inflated expectations.

Notably, speculation about XRP’s potential remains widespread, with ongoing discussions about whether a triple-digit price like $100 or even four-digit figures could be possible.

Hopes for XRP to Reach $100 and Beyond

Earlier this year, analyst Javon Marks projected that XRP could reach $99 per coin by the end of the current cycle. While some welcomed this projection, others pushed back. They argue that a 4,800% increase within such a short timeframe is far-fetched.

Similarly, American wealth mentor Linda Jones suggested that a $100 bill might be enough to buy just 1 XRP someday. However, she did not provide a timeline, only expressing that she believes it’s a possible long-term outcome.

Meanwhile, critics have dismissed the idea of XRP reaching $100 due to the market cap implications. Specifically, it would require nearly $6 trillion. As a result, platforms like Telegaon have proposed that such a milestone might only be reached in 15 years.

Nonetheless, ambitious commentators continue to argue that $100 and above is a reasonable near-term expectation. Observers have noted that proponents of such claims may be motivated by clickbait.

Avoid Clickbait, Focus on Substance

In his recent commentary, All Things XRP urged influencers in the XRP space to reconsider their role in shaping community sentiment. He advised them to ask a simple question before posting:

“Will my audience be smarter, more informed, or better off after reading this?”

The commentator emphasized that influencers should earn attention through value, not hype. He stressed the importance of credibility over clickbait.

Panos Mekras, co-founder of Anodos Finance, echoed this sentiment. He encouraged the XRP community to focus on real XRPL and DeFi developments instead of baseless predictions and riddles.

Similarly, Crypto Eri called for confronting internal misinformation, particularly false claims such as XRP’s supposed connection to ISO 20022. These XRP community figures agree that grounding optimism in reality will strengthen the XRP community and enhance its credibility.

XRP Is the ‘Key Ingredient’ for US Crypto Supremacy Over China, Analyst Argues

While the United States and China are in a global trade war, some commentators in the XRP community believe XRP could give the U.S. an upper hand.

Egrag, a widely followed analyst in the XRP community, expressed this perspective in a tweet. Notably, the U.S. and China are involved in an unprecedented economic conflict, with both countries imposing tariffs on one another, creating tension in the global financial market.

However, crypto commentators like Egrag have highlighted the potential role of digital assets amid these tensions. In his tweet, he cited the nearly equal Bitcoin reserves held by the two nations.

The image accompanying the tweet indicated that the U.S. government holds 198,109 BTC, while China holds approximately 190,000 BTC. While both governments are nearly on par in terms of their BTC portfolios, Egrag suggested the U.S. could have an overall advantage in crypto exposure when factoring XRP in.

XRP as a “Key Ingredient of the USA, Not China”

Specifically, he claimed that China does not hold XRP, while implying that the U.S. government does. He particularly pointed to Ripple’s escrowed XRP as a key advantage for the United States.

This view hinges on a hypothetical scenario in which Ripple’s 36 billion XRP in escrow could somehow be an asset of the U.S. government. This perspective appears to take inspiration from President Donald Trump’s earlier declaration that the government should establish a crypto reserve that includes XRP.

Following this, some XRP commentators speculated that Ripple’s escrowed XRP tokens could serve as part of such a reserve. Some even suggested that Ripple would only require a line of code to redirect the escrow execution to the U.S. government.

However, this remains purely hypothetical. Many believe it is far-fetched to assume Ripple would hand over $80 billion worth of XRP in escrow to the government for a strategic reserve. They view it as an unprecedented act of philanthropy with little chance of becoming reality.

“It Should Not Be About XRP Verse Bitcoin”

However, not everyone in the community fully aligns with this idea. Vincent Van Code, another prominent voice in the XRP space, offered an opposing perspective to Egrag’s tweet. He emphasized that the conversation shouldn’t center solely on XRP versus Bitcoin.

Van Code noted that the U.S. and Chinese economies operate at scales of tens of trillions of dollars. According to him, holdings of $20 billion in BTC, while notable, are relatively insignificant in the broader context.

He also stressed that while crypto represents a powerful technological innovation, its standalone value as a national asset may not translate into substantial strategic benefit without deeper integration into economic infrastructure.

Notably, Trump’s executive order suggested that the government could hold coins like XRP as part of an altcoin stockpile, while BTC would be a reserve asset. Contrary to Egrag’s suggestion, the U.S. government does not currently hold XRP.

Still, XRP commentators continue to speculate on how the government could eventually become an XRP holder. One suggestion is that Ripple’s upcoming $50 million fine could be paid in XRP.

Nasdaq-Traded Firm Reveals Holding XRP in Corporate Treasury as XRP Bets Gradually Coming Public

0

Digital Commodity Capital Corporation becomes the latest firm to disclose its exposure to XRP after revealing that it holds hefty amounts of the asset.

The firm recently announced adding XRP, the fourth-largest cryptocurrency by market cap, to its corporate treasury. In a rare move, the publicly traded investment company revealed that it holds thousands of dollars’ worth of the asset, marking a shift in sentiment among corporate firms globally.

The XRP Strategy?

Notably, Bitcoin maximalists usually boast of the Bitcoin Strategy, which multiple firms in the United States and globally have adopted. Strategy, Marathon Digital, and recently, Twenty One Capital, to mention a few, have shown a commitment to stacking Bitcoin as their strategic reserve asset.

However, it appears public firms are now slowly warming up to XRP amid recent regulatory breakthroughs and growing institutional interest. Nasdaq-traded Digital Commodity Capital recently revealed that it holds 103,000 XRP, worth $225,570 at the current market price, and plans to expand its holdings of the caliber digital asset.

While meager, the disclosure marks a major milestone for the XRP ecosystem in its plot to gain mainstream adoption. Reacting to the statement, market researcher SMQKE insinuated that this was just one of the many smart money bets on XRP, but now with a touch of public disclosure.

The prominent XRP community figure emphasized the significance of this public declaration, noting that it marks a notable shift in how institutions view the asset.

While suggesting that many in the space quietly believe in XRP, he insisted that the company’s revelation that it holds the token in its corporate treasury has set a powerful precedent in the industry and will spark many more adoptions and disclosures in the near term.

Meanwhile, Digital Commodity Capital becomes one of the few firms to report holding XRP in its treasury. Recall that energy firm Worksport announced in January that it has adopted Bitcoin and XRP as its strategic crypto treasury assets and has made an initial six-figure acquisition of the tokens.

Digital Commodity Capital Commends Ripple-SEC Resolution

Remarkably, Digital Commodity Capital’s recent corporate treasury disclosure follows a publication commending the recent US Securities and Exchange Commission’s resolution of its years-long legal battle with Ripple. The March 26 statement followed Ripple’s official withdrawal of its cross-appeal against the regulator a day earlier, marking substantial progress in the settlement.

Digital Commodities Capital’s Publication Commending the Ripple vs SEC Resolution

The investment firm stressed that the progress made in the resolution exercise is a win not just for Ripple but for the entire crypto scene. Furthermore, the development would renew momentum within the XRP ecosystem, allowing institutions to interact without fears of regulatory impoundment.

Meanwhile, the Ripple vs. SEC case settlement effort has progressed since then, with the two parties filing a joint statement on April 10 to officially pause appeals and pursue out-of-court settlements. Moreover, Ripple has suggested it should pay $50 million out of the $125 million initially ordered by Judge Analisa Torres last year, with the legal battle in its twilight.

Expert Cautions Against Spreading WhiteRock’s Proposal to Integrate XRP Into Federal Banking System

0

Popular XRPL dUNL validator Vet cautions XRP community members against spreading unvetted hype about XRP’s integration into the federal banking system.

In a recent tweet, Vet urged XRP enthusiasts to stop sharing WhiteRock’s proposal to integrate the XRP Ledger (XRPL) into the Federal Banking System.

WhiteRock Writes to Fed About XRP

For context, an entity named ‘WhiteRock’ proposed the initiative in a letter addressed to the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors on April 24, 2025.

According to the letter, Noam Levy of WhiteRock requested a meeting with the Fed’s Board of Governors to discuss the potential integration of XRPL into the federal banking system.

The letter claimed that the meeting would present an opportunity to boost the security and efficiency of U.S. financial services. It detailed the agenda, highlighting its strategic benefits, regulatory compliance, technical architecture, and implementation roadmap.

Further, the company promised to share other technical details before the Fed schedules a meeting date.

The letter comes on the heels of the Fed withdrawing 95% of its anti-crypto guidance, which previously restricted U.S. banks from engaging in crypto activities like trading and custody.

With the WhiteRock proposal coming around at the same time as the Fed rolling back its anti-crypto guidance, many XRP enthusiasts believed the letter to be true. Consequently, it has gone viral within the XRP community, with several prominent figures spreading the letter.

Expert Warns Against Spreading Malicious Post

However, Vet took to X to plead with these big XRP influencers to stop spreading the WhiteRock proposal. Like many XRP community figures, Vet believes the proposal is illegitimate.

The dUNL validator noted that sharing the proposal presents a bad look, suggesting that it makes the broader community look overly desperate for validation.

The expert urged those sharing the proposal to question posts like the WhiteRock letter instead of acting gullible. This serves as a call to the broader XRP community to critically analyze certain posts to ascertain the rationale behind them, rather than reposting them because they sound exciting.

In a follow-up tweet, Vet suggested that the influencers who claimed that FedNow has been using XRP for years are the ones spreading the WhiteRock proposal. The expert seemed baffled that such a malicious claim would have thousands of likes, potentially creating a false sense of consensus.

In the meantime, Vet plans to speak with the followers and audience of those big influencers spreading the rumor to curb the spread of malicious claims in the future.

World’s First Spot XRP ETF Debuts in Brazil, is U.S. Next

0

Brazil has beaten the United States to launch the first-ever spot XRP ETF, unlocking new options for the country’s investors.

Prominent asset manager Hashdex has launched the XRP spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) on Brazil’s B3, the country’s largest stock exchange and the largest in Latin America. The funds, which debuted on April 25, would provide investors with alternative exposure to the XRPL native token.

XRP ETF Enters the Latin America Market

XRP is the third-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, excluding stablecoins, with a current value of $125 billion. Despite its prominence in the crypto space, regulatory hurdles, along with other setbacks, have prevented the debut of a spot ETF tracking its performance until now.

Notably, Hashdex has now launched the product in Brazil, putting all other countries under pressure. Launched under the ticker XRPH11, the fund will track XRP’s price changes using the Nasdaq XRP Reference Price Index.

Furthermore, Hashdex will issue the Hashdex Nasdaq XRP Fund de Indices, while Brazil’s notable financial service platform Genial Investimentos will manage the funds. Hashdex tapped Genial Bank SA as the ETF’s custodian.

Remarkably, Hashdex will invest at least 95% of the fund’s assets directly or indirectly in XRP through futures contracts, securities, and other forms of exposure referencing the Nasdaq Reference Price Index.

Hasdex Expanding Its Reach in Brazil

Notably, the fund launched yesterday after the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) gave its regulatory nod in February. Notably, the securities watchdog also recently approved Hashdex’s Solana spot ETF.

With the launch, the Hashdex Nasdaq XRP Fund de Indices becomes the asset manager’s ninth ETF trading on the B3 stock exchange. Hashdex already offers ETFs of prominent crypto assets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana.

Meanwhile, the XRP ETF’s annual management cost stands at 0.8%. The funds will charge investors a maximum global yearly fee of 0.7% and 0.1% in custodian fees. However, there is zero structuring fee for the funds.

The United States Under Pressure?

Interestingly, despite XRP’s nativity in the United States, there is still no spot ETF available for market users in the country, despite the recent introduction of a leveraged ETF product last week. In fact, Ripple, a cross-border payment financial firm affiliated with the XRP ecosystem, recently made progress in settling a regulatory dispute with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Following the dark regulatory clouds that covered the US before now, Donald Trump’s administration is set to make a difference. After vowing to make America the crypto capital of the world, his tenure has introduced measures pushing for regulatory clarity in America, sparking an altcoin ETF application frenzy from prominent asset managers.

For context, Grayscale and Franklin Templeton, among others, have filed for XRP spot ETFs as the regulatory landscape continues to become more favorable. With Brazil taking the lead with the launch, the United States might be keen on joining the parade next to keep investors with an appetite for exposure to the product.

Meanwhile, according to crypto prediction platform Polymarket, the odds of an XRP launch in the United States stand at 73%.

Here’s What Needs to Happen for XRP to Reach $100

0

Despite the current XRP price struggles, projections of a rally to three digits have emerged, but what catalysts could trigger such a run?

Notably, the XRP price action has failed to reflect the broader market recovery. For context, Bitcoin (BTC), the pioneering crypto asset, is up 11.52% this week amid five consecutive intraday gains. Amid this run, BTC has reclaimed $95K, now aiming for the $100K mark.

Meanwhile, XRP is only up 5.34% within the same timeframe, with two intraday losses this week. The altcoin still struggles around the $2.2 region, unable to break above the resistance at this price. Despite this, analysts remain optimistic in its potential to claim greater heights, citing the asset’s robust utility.

The XRP to $100 Predictions

Particularly, while more feasible targets such as $10 and $27 have sprung up for the near term, some market commentators believe a push to ambitious goals like $100 is possible in the long term.

For instance, market watcher Levi Rietveld disclosed last September that he was 100% certain XRP price could claim the $100 mark. Also, most recently, analyst BarriC suggested that market participants would happily procure XRP for $100 per token in the future.

However, critics have cited the resulting market cap as a potential deterrent. For context, XRP currently has a total supply of 99 billion tokens at press time. If the asset reaches a $100 price with this supply, its fully diluted market cap would balloon to $99 trillion.

Notably, this is larger than Bitcoin’s current $1.9 trillion valuation and the global crypto market cap of $2.97 trillion. It would also make XRP the largest token in the world, surpassing gold at $22 trillion. This puts into doubt the prospect of an XRP price rally to $100.

What Could Help XRP Price Hit $100?

As a result, a drastic drop in the supply through token burns could theoretically support the asset’s prospects. An avenue to achieve this could come from incinerating Ripple’s escrow stash, currently amounting to 36.8 billion tokens, per XRPScan data.

Some voices in the XRP community have called on Ripple to take this approach. However, the company’s CTO, David Schwartz, has advised against this, arguing that it would have no beneficial impact on the XRP price. He cited a similar move by Stellar in 2019, which failed to improve XLM’s price condition.

Meanwhile, following President Donald Trump’s announcement of XRP’s inclusion in the U.S. crypto stockpile, some community commentators have highlighted the possibility of donating the escrowed tokens to the U.S. government. However, the potential impact on XRP price remains uncertain.

In addition, even if XRP’s escrowed supply is permanently removed, the leftover tokens, totaling 63 billion, would still pose an obstacle to its rally to $100. At a supply of 63 billion tokens, XRP would have a fully diluted market cap of $6.3 trillion if 1 XRP hits $100. This is still larger than Bitcoin’s and the broader crypto market’s valuations.

The only factor that could further bring this price prospect into the realm of reality is if the overall cryptocurrency market expands significantly. Notably, XRP’s market cap dominance hit a peak of 5.56% in February 2025. If this dominant claimed 6% at an XRP market cap of $6.8 trillion, the broader crypto market would have a valuation of $113.33 trillion.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin currently has a market cap dominance of 64.52%. With a broader crypto market valuation of $113.33 trillion, this 64.52% dominance would translate to a Bitcoin market cap of $73.13 trillion. Considering Bitcoin’s total supply of 21 million, this market cap leads to a price of $3.4 million per BTC. Interestingly, last October, VanEck predicted Bitcoin could hit $3 million by 2050.

Here is When Dogecoin Can Reach $10 If It Rises only 5% Monthly

0

The price of Dogecoin could rise to $10 within the next few years if DOGE experiences a steady growth of 5% monthly.

The latest crypto market downturn has dealt a heavy blow to Dogecoin, causing its price to plunge by 6.13% over the past day. This saw the price of DOGE crash from the $0.18 mark to $0.1702. Despite the latest bloodbath, DOGE is still up 9.3% in the past seven days.

Dogecoin’s Potential Surge to $10

Notably, market watchers are still optimistic about Dogecoin’s prospects. Some expect it to soar to an ambitious target of $10. Hitting the $10 target requires a surge of 5,775% from the current price. Several experts, including Ali Martinez, believe Dogecoin can achieve the $10 milestone.

When Will 5% Monthly Gain Take DOGE to $10

As this projection gains momentum, we estimated how long it would take Dogecoin to reach the $10 target if it records a monthly gain of 5%. We can estimate a 5% gain on DOGE by multiplying the current price of $0.1702 by 1.05%. Accordingly, if DOGE’s price grows by 5% in May 2025, it will trade at $0.17871 by the end of the month.

Another 5% growth in the following month would push the price to $0.18764 by June. Notably, Dogecoin would finally cross the $0.2 mark by August 2025.

If this continues and DOGE records a minimum increase of 5%, its price would clinch the $10 target within the next 84 months or seven years. This implies that the price of DOGE would hit $10 by April 2032, so long as the firstborn meme coin records a monthly increase of 5%.

Timeline for DOGE surge to $10
Timeline for DOGE surge to $10

At the $10 target, a portfolio of 5,000 DOGE, valued at $851 at the current price, would be worth $50,000, representing an ROI of over $49,000.

Notably, Dogecoin’s market cap would soar to approximately $1.49 trillion from the current value of $25.35 billion. This analysis assumes that Dogecoin’s circulating supply remains at the same level of 148.98 billion tokens.

Moreover, there is no guarantee that Dogecoin could see or sustain a monthly 5% through the seven-year period.

Expert Predictions for Dogecoin by 2032

Meanwhile, The Crypto Basic consulted other crypto prediction platforms like Changelly and Telegaon to assess their Dogecoin predictions for April 2032.

Analysts affiliated with Changelly’s trading platform suggest that Dogecoin will trade at a maximum target of $2.02 by April 2032. This represents an increase of 1,086% from the current price of $0.1702. As for the $10 price, the analysts do not see DOGE at that level in the foreseeable future.

However, Telegaon indicates that Dogecoin would trade between $18 and $28 within the projected timeline of 2032. It noted DOGE could reach $10 much earlier in 2029.

Notably, these timelines remain speculative.

Citigroup Says Bitcoin Resilience in Turbulence Highlights Its Asset Class Value

0

According to a report by Citigroup, the performance of Bitcoin during recent financial turbulence shows its evolving status as an asset class.

The analysts at Citigroup (Citi) emphasize that this trend warrants close examination, especially considering Bitcoin’s previous correlations with equities.

Bitcoin Performance During Financial Stress

Matthew Sigel, Head of Digital Assets Research at VanEck, highlighted CITI’s report in a post, noting how Bitcoin maintained stability during critical market events.

Despite facing several macroeconomic shocks, including tariff-related volatility and broader market instability, Bitcoin has outpaced key indices such as the S&P and EuroStoxx on a volatility-adjusted basis.

According to CITI, the digital asset has exceeded macro-based price expectations by over 10% since early March, signaling a potential risk premium independent of conventional market drivers.

Bitcoin’s Resilience

For context, during the March 2023 crisis surrounding Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), Bitcoin prices hovered above $21,000, ultimately closing the month above $28,000.

This occurred while traditional asset classes faced significant declines. Additionally, in September 2023, amid the rise in US bond term premiums, Bitcoin opened at approximately $25,000 and closed the month just above $26,000. These instances highlight Bitcoin’s capacity to perform reliably under financial strain.

Furthermore, recent market volatility driven by President Trump’s tariffs led to Bitcoin displaying consistent performance. Although it fell briefly below $75,000, it has since rebounded to levels above $90,000, outperforming traditional stocks. Particularly, even with the recent market volatility, Bitcoin is still leading all other assets in performance since the U.S. election in November.

CITI suggests that these movements may indicate the presence of a Bitcoin-specific risk premium, partly influenced by a strengthening gold market and a weakening US dollar.

Stable Bitcoin ETF Inflows Amid Uncertainty

According to CITI, Bitcoin ETF inflows have remained stable, contrasting sharply with the outflows seen in Ethereum ETFs. Despite recent market turbulence, Bitcoin ETF flows have not experienced a significant decline.

CryptoQuant analyst Maartunn echoes this sentiment, stating that external factors, including ETF flows and futures market interests, have largely driven price increases.

Maartunn also notes that Bitcoin’s price surge appears more closely tied to institutional movements rather than on-chain demands.

Mixed On-Chain and Off-Chain Metrics

As the market evolves, on-chain and off-chain metrics exhibit mixed signals. CITI reports that the stablecoin market cap continues to grow robustly, even amid volatility.

Meanwhile, Layer 1 Ethereum activity shows an upward trend, though Layer 2 users have declined. Bitcoin activity has also registered increases, albeit temporarily.

Bitcoin Short Squeeze Looms Amid Spike in Short Positions as Liquidity Builds Around $97K to $100K

The crypto market is currently on high alert as signs point to an imminent Bitcoin short squeeze amid a build-up in short positions and massive liquidity clusters.

Notably, these liquidity clusters rest between $97,000 and $100,000 as BTC continues its recovery push. For context, Bitcoin’s steady rally since April 21 indicates bullish momentum, yet bearish traders continue to fade the uptrend. However, this could be setting the stage for a potentially explosive run.

Bitcoin’s price action has been resilient, rising from the $85,000 range to reclaim $95,000, with the asset currently trading at approximately $94,735. This represents a monthly gain of 14.78%, with a weekly increase of nearly 8%.

Despite facing mild resistance at $95,000 today, the price remains above $94,000 amid underlying strength. Nonetheless, the presence of large short positions above $92,000 suggests vulnerability to a short squeeze if Bitcoin breaks above key resistance zones.

Exchange Data Reveals Bullish Signals

According to Novaque Research on CryptoQuant, an analysis of Binance shows a behavioral change among investors.

Particularly, between April 6 and 10, Binance saw BTC inflows exceeding 15,000 BTC. This period coincided with price stagnation around $85,000 to $87,000, showing selling pressure.

However, from April 19 to 23, the trend reversed. The market recorded outflows of more than 15,000 BTC, corresponding with a price climb to over $93,000. These outflows show bullish accumulation behavior, leading to a drop in selling pressure.

Supporting this, Bitcoin exchange reserves have been declining since April 18. The analysis suggested that this current condition creates a “cleaner” market environment, less vulnerable to large-volume dumps by whales.

Bitcoin Short Squeeze Looms

Novaque Research confirmed that with Bitcoin’s market structure appearing to reset after weak-handed longs were flushed between $82,000 and $88,000, remaining shorts above $92,000 are increasingly at risk. Notably, a spike to this level could trigger a short squeeze.

In addition, there is thin liquidity above current levels, and this makes the market highly sensitive to positive catalysts, such as ETF inflows or favorable macroeconomic events, that could rapidly drive Bitcoin past $100,000.

Further, Coinglass data reveals a massive concentration of liquidation leverage at major levels. The most prominent cluster lies around $97,755, with a liquidation leverage amounting to $207.71 million. A second major cluster exists at $99,876, totaling $193.18 million.

Binance BTCUSDT Liquidation Heatmap Coinglass
Binance BTCUSDT Liquidation Heatmap | Coinglass

These levels are important because if Bitcoin approaches or surpasses them, massive short liquidations could be triggered, forcing bearish traders to buy back their positions, which would propel the price even higher, confirming a Bitcoin short squeeze.

Leverage Builds While Short Bias Dominates

Interestingly, Glassnode also supports the short squeeze narrative. They confirmed that open Interest in perpetual swaps has surged to 281,000 BTC, a 15.6% rise since last month. This spike implies growing leverage in the market, which increases the risk of sharp volatility through liquidations.

Also, despite the rise in Open Interest, the average funding rate has turned negative, currently at -0.023%. For context, this trend highlights a growing tilt toward short positioning, increasing the risks of a short squeeze.

Furthermore, the 7-day moving average of long-side funding premiums has fallen to $88,000 per hour and continues to decline, indicating waning interest in long positions and confirming the dominance of a short bias. As a result, a Bitcoin short squeeze could emerge if BTC spikes further.

Meanwhile, analysts remain bullish on the uptrend. Trader Merlijn recently highlighted a bullish breakout from a flag pattern. He compared the current setup to past events that led Bitcoin into parabolic rallies. In his view, if history repeats, the next stop could be as high as $150,000.

American Entrepreneur Predicts How High XRP Can Reach if XRP Replaces SWIFT

0

An American businessman has called attention to some audacious XRP price predictions, citing the asset’s potential to complement or replace SWIFT.

American entrepreneur and financial commentator Patrick Bet-David brought new attention to XRP’s long-debated potential to transform global finance.

XRP Potential to Complement or Replace SWIFT

Speaking on an episode of his widely followed TV program Valuetainment in March, Bet-David highlighted the possibility of XRP overtaking the SWIFT network or handling a portion of its value, a development that could massively increase the crypto asset’s value.

Bet-David pointed out that for individuals not deeply immersed in crypto assets, XRP is still something worth keeping an eye on due to its unique capabilities. He mentioned a hypothetical scenario where the XRPL native token fully replaces the SWIFT financial messaging system and potentially FedNow.

According to Bet-David, the XRPL, with its ability to settle transactions in three to five seconds at a fraction of a cent, is far superior in speed and cost-efficiency compared to SWIFT, which processes around $5 trillion daily or approximately $1.25 quadrillion annually.

Bet-David Spotlights XRP to $1,000 Forecast

In his analysis, Bet-David discussed what a 10% market share of SWIFT’s volume could look like for XRP. By his calculations, a $125 trillion yearly transaction volume could push XRP’s market cap toward $10 trillion.

Notably, based on these projections, he speculated that XRP could reach a value of $100 per token. In addition, he acknowledged that some analysts also believe the crypto asset could soar to $1,000 in a scenario where it fully displaces SWIFT.

The financial commentator admitted that the analysts making these predictions may hold XRP themselves. However, he maintained that the projections present an idea of what could occur if XRP realizes its full potential.

He also noted that the ongoing lawsuit from the U.S. SEC has been a major obstacle, delaying institutional adoption. However, he believes a favorable resolution could lead to renewed confidence and broader regulatory acceptance, especially in the U.S., which is crucial for mass-scale implementation.

Ripple Executives Champion XRP as a SWIFT Replacement

Bet-David’s remarks are part of a broader sentiment shared by Ripple executives over recent years. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has long promoted XRP as an alternative to SWIFT.

In an interview in early April, Garlinghouse highlighted XRP’s error rate of just 0.1%, a contrast to SWIFT’s 6%, and asserted that Ripple’s technology presents a better solution for modern financial transactions.

Also, speaking to Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo in March, he shared the belief that Ripple could emerge as a viable rival to SWIFT. Garlinghouse cited growing dissatisfaction with outdated banking infrastructure.

Meanwhile, at the World Economic Forum in Davos this April, Eric van Miltenburg, Ripple’s Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, labeled Ripple a modern upgrade, or even a replacement, for SWIFT. He pointed out that Ripple’s system is faster and significantly more affordable.

Even as far back as November 2018, Garlinghouse made bold claims during a Bloomberg interview, predicting Ripple could eventually dominate over SWIFT. Also, in May 2020, Ripple Chairman Chris Larsen suggested that XRP could replace SWIFT during a Block Stars episode.
