A leading market commentator has weighed in on how much Bitcoin an investor would need to retire.
Notably, the question of how much one needs to retire from active work has been a common topic, as many people hope they won’t have to work forever. Indeed, many hope to retire early, a goal unsurprisingly shared by several investors in the highly speculative and volatile Bitcoin and crypto markets.
So how much Bitcoin, for example, do you need to retire? One analyst has attempted to answer this question for U.S. residents.
According to a chart shared by Bitcoin analyst “apsk32” on Monday, the average American now needs about 30 BTC to retire. At Bitcoin’s prevailing value, this amounts to $2.6 million.
Quantity of Bitcoin needed to retire Source apsk32
How The Bitcoin Figure Came About
Notably, this 30 BTC estimate is based on the belief in Bitcoin’s potential to exceed $1 million per coin in the coming decade and expectations for the median family income in the years to come, factoring in inflation.
At the same time, for the model to work, users have to follow a 4% rule. The assumption is that if you spend 4% of your assets in the initial year and adjust for inflation as you go, you will be unlikely to run out of funds.
Using this rule with the 30 BTC estimate, you will need only 1.2 BTC in the first year, which is over $104,000 at the current price of about $87,000 per BTC. This drops to 1.152 BTC in your next year, and so on.
The assumption is that Bitcoin will continue to rise exponentially and that the amount of BTC needed in subsequent years will decrease as a result.
This assumption also applies to the amount of BTC needed to retire as the years go by. Beyond 2036, apsk32’s analysis suggests that less than 2 BTC will be enough.
Bitcoin company Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) has launched its Strife perpetual preferred stock (STRF) today on Nasdaq.
Chairman Michael Saylor confirmed this milestone in a post on X, announcing that STRF has begun trading. The announcement highlighted the unique investment opportunity presented by the new offering. Specifically, STRF provides USD yield for STRF investors and Bitcoin yield for MSTR investors.
Our new preferred stock STRF (“Strife”) creates USD Yield for $STRF investors—and BTC Yield for $MSTR investors. It begins trading today on Nasdaq.
For context, Strategy launched STRF last week as a new perpetual preferred stock offering for institutional and select non-institutional investors. The stock pays a 10% annual dividend, with the first payment scheduled for June 30, 2025. This will provide STRF investors with a predictable return in USD.
If dividends are unpaid, they will accumulate with compounded interest, increasing by 100 basis points each period, up to 18% per year.
Notably, the STRF offering initially included 5 million shares of Series A Perpetual Strife Preferred Stock. However, in a subsequent update, the company announced an offering of 8.5 million shares.
Proceeds Supporting Bitcoin Acquisitions
Strategy disclosed that it will use the net proceeds from the STRF offering, which raised approximately $711.2 million, for general corporate purposes, including the acquisition of Bitcoin. This move reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to expanding its Bitcoin holdings.
Indeed, the firm followed through with the disclosure as it consolidated its Bitcoin position days later. Specifically, Strategy bought 6,911 BTC tokens for $584 million on Monday. This latest acquisition brought its total BTC holdings to surpass the 500K milestone, with a total portfolio of 506,137 BTC.
Notably, the company acquired this massive Bitcoin war chest with a cumulative investment of $33.7 billion, following a four-year-long acquisition spree. This is equivalent to an average of $66,608 per BTC.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin’s prevailing market value is $87,500. As a result, the company is sitting on an unrealized profit of approximately $10.3 billion.
Strategy to Continue Buying Bitcoin
Strategy is showing no signs of slowing down its Bitcoin acquisitions. Jesse Myers, a Stanford MBA holder, remarked that the company’s STRF offers a juicy 11.8% annual dividend, while U.S. Treasury bills offer just 4.2%.
“This is how Saylor will be able to source $3 trillion from the bond market to buy Bitcoin,” Myers remarked.
A recent Glassnode analysis has leveraged the URPD metric to identify the largest resistance level Dogecoin might face on its path to recovery.
The disclosure comes on the back of a rebound effort engineered by Dogecoin (DOGE) amid the broader market recovery that has seen Bitcoin (BTC), the leading crypto asset reclaim the $87,000 mark.
Particularly, DOGE has ridden on this upward push to secure four consecutive intraday gains, a new record this year. Notably, since Saturday, March 22, Dogecoin has increased by nearly 18%, soaring from $0.16 to trade around the $0.19 region at press time.
Major Dogecoin Resistance
Amid this bullish trend, Glassnode called attention to the $0.20 psychological resistance as the meme coin’s largest roadblock on its recovery path. For context, Dogecoin gave up the $0.20 mark earlier this month amid a massive collapse from March 6 to 10.
According to Glassnode, the Dogecoin UTXO Realized Price Distribution (URPD) points to a large supply wall at the $0.20 region, representing a zone where a massive whale volume exists. The analysis confirmed that the supply wall at $0.20 represents the third largest for DOGE, only behind the ones at $0.07 and $0.17.
Dogecoin URPD | Glassnode
Notably, Glassnode stressed that this large cluster formed with massive inflows at the $0.20 mark on Jan. 22, 2025, but an earlier accumulation might have occurred before this date, and this trend elevated the whales’ cost basis. The analytical resource stressed that this area marks a major near-term resistance.
Notably, the $0.20 resistance came into play earlier today when DOGE attempted to break above. The asset soared to a two-week peak of $0.2058 this morning but immediately witnessed a pullback to the $0.19 level.
Interestingly, Glassnode emphasized that once the bulls overcome the resistance at $0.20, Dogecoin will likely face less resistance before $0.31. This is because the meme coin faces no major supply walls before this level, presenting a smooth sail higher on the recovery path once $0.20 gives way.
Meanwhile, Dogecoin’s 3-6M HODL Wave has witnessed a gradual increase since March began, according to Glassnode. They stressed that this suggests most investors entered the market when Dogecoin recovered from $0.32 to $0.41 in January. This likely forms the next supply wall beyond $0.31.
Since early March, the 3–6M HODL Wave has started to swell. This suggests many bought during the Jan bounce from $0.32 to $0.41. If price returns to those levels, some may look to exit at break even – creating possible resistance ahead for $DOGE. pic.twitter.com/qfGpbxkvEs
Further, Glassnode highlighted a trend that might assist the bulls as they look to breach the $0.20 roadblock. Specifically, 15% of the Dogecoin supply has remained dormant for six to twelve months.
Dogecoin HODL Waves | Glassnode
According to Glassnode, the investors who hold this supply likely bought before the Q4 2024 upsurge. The fact that they still hold onto their bag confirms their confidence in Dogecoin.
In addition, the analytical firm pointed out two futures market metrics that indicate the ongoing recovery is healthy. For one, Futures Open Interest (OI) has dropped from the Q4 2024 average of $3 billion to the current figure of $1 billion. This shows that there are fewer leverage positions, confirming that the rally comes mostly from the spot market.
Futures OI for $DOGE sits at ~$1B – well below the Nov/Dec 2024 average of ~$3B. 7D SMA of futures volume is rising from the bottom, but still near Oct 2024 levels. The rally so far appears more spot-driven, not fueled by leveraged speculation. pic.twitter.com/kgml4Oked6
Moreover, Dogecoin Funding Rates have collapsedinrecenttimes, moving closer to the neutral level. This trend further confirms that the futures market is observing a drop in leveraged positions, especially longs. At press time, Dogecoin currently trades for $0.1959, up 13% in the past week.
XRP is forming a head and shoulder pattern on the daily timeframe, according to market veteran Peter Brandt, who believes a steeper drop is on the horizon.
Peter Brandt, a veteran trader with 50 years of experience, shared this price development in a tweet today. He suggested that despite XRP’s recent bullish price actions, it risks a capitulation to near $1.
The commentary comes on the back of XRP’s consolidation around the $2.4 region. The high-caliber asset has failed to replicate the price uptrend seen in altcoins like Dogecoin and Shiba Inu, retracing nearly 2% today.
XRP Risk 55% Correction to $1.07
Brandt noted in today’s commentary that a bearish head-and-shoulder pattern is emerging on XRP’s daily timeframe. For the uninitiated, this structure is a bullish-to-bearish price reversal pattern that signals the end of an upward price action and the start of a downward trend.
The veteran trader identified the left shoulder formation with XRP’s price surge to a December 3 high of $2.9070. Furthermore, the structure’s head formed at XRP’s January 16 high of $3.3999, and the right shoulder with the asset’s rapid surge to $3.0153 on March 2 following Donald Trump’s announcement of XRP’s inclusion in the US crypto reserve.
XRP Head and Shoulder Price Pattern/Peter Brandt
Notably, Brandt stressed that XRP is now range-bound, sharing the crucial levels that would confirm the capitulation or invalidate the pattern. He also maintained neutrality, insisting he has no bullish or bearish interest in the coin.
Crucial Levels to Watch
For context, the seasoned market trader noted that a break below $1.9 would confirm the bearish structure. According to him, he would not want to own the asset at that level. Notably, XRP remains 21.4% away from the decisive price mark.
However, a break to $3 would invalidate the bearish price pattern. The level aligns with the price marks where both shoulders formed, and a surge past it would ultimately create a whole new paradigm. Interestingly, XRP would have to surge 24% from the current price to reclaim the over-three-week high.
Meanwhile, analyst Ali Martinez made a similar price call weeks ago. In the price commentary, the prominent market watcher highlighted $2 as the breakpoint for XRP and predicted a steep correction to $1.6 if support fails to hold.
Furthermore, analyst Crypto Patel also shares a short-term bearish disposition towards XRP, predicting a far worse correction. He identified that the asset has three support gaps to fill, which were between $1.712 and $1.545, $1.00 and $0.9268, and $0.772 and $0.64.
Nonetheless, Crypto Patel suggested a bullish reversal would follow suit, with a 681% surge to $5 as the subsequent line of action. In the meantime, XRP trades at $2.4061, down nearly 2% in the past 24 hours.
Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the founder and former CEO of the Binance crypto exchange, reacts as multi-chain DEX PancakeSwap burns over 330,000 CAKE tokens.
On Monday, PancakeSwap provided an insight into its net burn update for the week, highlighting the number of CAKE tokens the system minted and burned over the past week.
According to the update, PancakeSwap burned 569,000 CAKE tokens worth around $1.44 million from various sources, including trading fees from AMM (automated market maker) V2 and V3. Similarly, the DEX minted and allocated 230,000 CAKE tokens over the past week, worth about $526,000.
After subtracting the total CAKE minted from those burned, PancakeSwap recorded a net deflation of 339,000 CAKE. This suggests that the DEX permanently removed 339,000 CAKE from circulation over the past week, representing 0.12% of the supply. At the current exchange rate of $2.36, the 339,000 CAKE burned are worth $800,040.
Binance CZ Reacts
PancakeSwap’s latest incineration has made the rounds within the crypto community. This attracted the attention of former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, who expressed optimism regarding the deflationary trend for CAKE.
He stressed that it is ‘always good to see deflation.’
Ongoing CAKE Burn Campaign
It bears mentioning that CAKE is PancakeSwap’s native token. Over the past few years, the multi-chain DEX has leveraged the trading fees from various sources like AMM V2 and V3 to burn the token.
Before its latest update, PancakeSwap only disclosed the amount of CAKE burned weekly without showing those minted and added to the supply.
However, this week, the DEX changed its reporting style to a simpler format, highlighting the number of CAKE burned and minted.
Based on the shift, the net CAKE deflation (equivalent to subtracting the tokens created from those burned) gives users a perfect understanding of the number of CAKE permanently removed from circulation weekly.
Following its latest burn, CAKE has a total supply of 372,497,738 (372.49 million) tokens, with 289,339,855 (289.34 million) tokens currently in circulation.
At press time, CAKE has declined 10.89% over the past 24 hours to $2.36. In comparison, the token was down only 0.70% in the past week.
British multinational fintech company Revolut is leveling up its stand-alone crypto exchange platform.
Over the past year, leading U.K. fintech Revolut has been angling to better compete with crypto exchanges like Binance and Coinbase. To this end, the firm launched Revolut X in 2024 as a stand-alone crypto exchange platform for professional traders in the U.K.
In November 2024, it expanded this platform to 30 countries in the European Economic Area. Now, the firm has taken another step in line with its ambitions.
In a Tuesday, March 25 press release shared with The Crypto Basic, Revolut disclosed that it was launching a Revolut X mobile application and expanding it to serve retail traders.
According to the firm, the mobile application and service expansion represented “the next step to challenging other major exchanges,” arguing that it was now “closer in-line” with the competition.
The Revolut X app will allow users to trade over 220 tokens against the U.S. dollar, the British pound, or the Euro. The platform will also offer customers flat fees on these trades, up to as low as 0%.
“With our crypto exchange already serving tens of thousands of customers across the UK and EEA, we’re excited to be bringing them the mobile experience they’ve been asking for,” Leonid Bashlykov, Head of Product – Crypto at Revolut, said in a comment on the app launch.
Meanwhile, Revolut’s crypto ambitions do not end with the Revolut X app in the U.K. and EEA.
Revolut Plotting U.S. Return
A spokesperson confirmed to The Crypto Basic that the firm was indeed nursing an ambition to restore its crypto services in the U.S., though it failed to offer a timeline.
Revolut shuttered its crypto services for U.S. customers in 2023 amid regulatory uncertainty as the Securities and Exchange Commission went after several crypto trading platforms, including Binance and Coinbase.
However, this regulatory cloud may now be clearing, as the SEC appears to have taken a favorable turn on crypto under President Donald Trump’s administration. In particular, the SEC has paused and dismissed several crypto enforcement actions.
Still, Revolut may be waiting for concrete rules before making its move. To this end, the SEC has already kicked off a series of round tables with industry participants.
AI chatbot ChatGPT predicts XRP price if the asset secures ETFs from 20 asset managers with a potential 4 billion XRP in cumulative AUM.
With the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) recently acknowledging 19b-4 filings for several XRP exchange-traded funds (ETFs), speculation about the launch of the investment products has grown.
The possibility of multiple financial institutions launching ETFs or exchange-traded products (ETPs) for XRP has triggered discussions on how institutional demand could impact its value. This rising interest has led some industry experts to assess the potential macroeconomic effects of such developments.
Potential Bullish Developments Around XRP
One such expert, Rob Cunningham, a seasoned researcher, recently raised several questions regarding the impact of 20 financial institutions launching XRP-based ETFs or ETPs in 2025.
He highlighted that if these firms each managed an average of $500 million in assets under management (AUM), they could collectively hold around 4 billion XRP tokens. This figure represents nearly 6.9% of the circulating supply, mirroring the institutional accumulation seen in Bitcoin ETFs.
Cunningham suggested that such large-scale adoption could lead to massive demand. Notably, such demand is capable of driving XRP’s price upward. The industry pundit highlighted multiple bullish developments that could also impact the XRP price.
He stressed that the regulatory atmosphere would be important when determining the direction of XRP’s market growth. He noted that regulatory clarity in the U.S. could increase institutional confidence and also encourage adoption.
The industry expert pointed to past instances where legal certainty led to institutional inflows. In this regard, the pundit pointed to the rapid growth of Bitcoin ETFs following SEC approval.
Meanwhile, Cunningham further speculated that the expiration of Ripple’s 1,700 non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) could reveal major financial partnerships, increasing demand for XRP-based products. According to him, he and other experts were to discuss these factors in an X Space session.
XRP Price Under These Conditions
However, to assess the potential price impact of these factors, we turned to ChatGPT. Before presenting its price prediction, the AI chatbot pointed out the potential impact of each of the bullish developments presented by Cunningham.
For instance, it stressed that if XRP ETFs receive the same level of institutional backing as Bitcoin ETFs, this could de-risk the asset for hedge funds, pension funds, and other major financial institutions.
It also highlighted the expansion of investment products, including XRP. Following the launch of institutional-grade ETFs, registered investment advisors, mutual funds, and brokers would be able to integrate XRP into traditional portfolios.
Interestingly, it says this will allow for retirement accounts, ETF-based derivatives, and broader media coverage, which historically have helped in boosting mainstream adoption. A steady increase in both retail and institutional interest could create a flywheel effect, bolstering demand.
ChatGPT also pointed out the potential impact of Ripple’s business developments. If the expiration of Ripple’s NDAs leads to announcements revealing partnerships with major financial institutions, this could lead to greater demand.
XRP Price Prediction | ChatGPT
The AI drew comparisons to how BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF approval led to supply constraints and a sharp rally in Bitcoin’s price. A similar disclosure on XRP’s role in global financial settlements could create a strong network effect, leading to increased market participation.
Based on these considerations, ChatGPT projected several possible price scenarios for XRP. First, under a moderate institutional demand scenario, XRP price could see a two to three times increase, reaching a price range of $5 to $7.
Nonetheless, if institutional adoption grows at a stronger pace alongside retail demand, the XRP price could climb to $7–$12 in the mid-term, between now and 2026. In a highly optimistic scenario, where XRP achieves mass adoption and full network effect, its value could surge to $15–$25.
American video electronics and gaming merchandise retailer GameStop is set to add Bitcoin to its balance sheet.
Following the success of Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, more and more firms are jumping on the Bitcoin treasury strategy bandwagon. The latest to confirm plans to do so is the popular video game retailer GameStop.
An Investment Policy Update to Welcome Bitcoin
GameStop is set to add Bitcoin to its balance sheet. The firmdisclosed this in an investment policy update released alongside its fourth-quarter earnings report on Tuesday, March 25.
Specifically, GameStop asserted that its board had unanimously approved an investment policy update to add Bitcoin as a treasury asset. Its Q4 earnings report further noted that the recent investment policy update also included dollar stablecoins.
GameStop policy change to welcome Bitcoin
GameStop did not disclose how much of its cash reserve it intended to invest in Bitcoin. However, the firm reported having $4.75 billion in cash as of February 1.
The firm’s recent investment policy update confirms nearly two months of speculation. GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen first sparked speculation with a photo alongside Strategy Chairman and notorious Bitcoin evangelist Michael Saylor in February 2025. Days later, a CNBC report disclosed that the firm was considering adding Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to its balance sheet.
In the same month, Cohen also confirmed receipt of a letter from the asset management firm Strive, urging GameStop to use most of its cash reserves to buy Bitcoin.
Following Tuesday’s update, Strategy’s Saylor took to X to welcome Cohen and GameStop to “team Bitcoin.”
Dogecoin has defied earlier bearish momentum to resume price take-off, with bullish whale activities contributing to the upward trajectory.
The meme coin alpha has taken off after a period of clumsy price action. For context, DOGE retraced 70% from its December high of $0.4846 to a low of $0.1432 but has rallied 42% from the dip to its current market price.
Interestingly, analyst Kamran Asghar believes the bullish recovery places Dogecoin back on course for its cyclical price explosion to unprecedented prices. He noted in a March 25 post that the blast-off has begun.
Dogecoin Take-Off?
Dogecoin has resumed an upward trajectory following its hold above the crucial level at $0.16, as identified by prominent analyst, Ali Marinez. The market watcher predicted that the meme coin market leader would see higher prices if the demand zone held.
Further, Asghar suggested that the recent bounce aligns with the asset’s cyclical price bullishness, which kickstarted after a successful retest in August 2024. For perspective, Dogecoin broke from a three-year-old descending triangle in February but pulled back to retest the structure’s resistance trendline.
With a successful retest, the asset set out for higher prices, surging to December’s high before the latest decline. Nonetheless, the analyst highlighted that DOGE has more upsides from here, drawing inspiration from the token’s performance in the previous cycle.
An accompanying chart shows similar price action in the past two bull seasons, where Dogecoin surged over 20,566% and 44,471%. Asghar predicts that based on previous cyclical performances, DOGE’s recent form rediscovery will spur a staggering 2,852% rally to $6.
Dogecoin to $6/Kamran Asghar
Moreover, the analysis aligns with a price prediction from analyst Doge Lord, who predicted the same target for Dogecoin. He asserted that $6 is the meme coin’s next goal, citing the third wave of a five-wave Elliot Wave structure on the 7-day timeframe.
Whale Acquisition Fuels Rally
Dogecoin has now fully recovered from the earlier downsides this month, and the ever-believing large DOGE holders have played an integral part in this plot. These whales have incessantly bought the dip, keeping hopes alive.
Yesterday, Martinez revealed that Dogecoin whales went shopping again, fueling the asset’s recent price rally. Particularly, investors holding between 1 million and 10 million DOGE added 200 million DOGE to their bags, bringing their stash to 10.5 billion DOGE, worth $2.14 billion at the current market price.
Whale Accumulation/Ali Martinez
Meanwhile, Dogecoin currently trades at $0.2042, up 7% in the past 24 hours.
Bone (BONE), the governance token of Shiba Inu DEX ShibaSwap, witnesses a massive surge nearing $0.50. Will this drive the uptrend to $1?
As the crypto market recovers, the market capitalization of the meme coin segment has reached $58 billion. Amid the recovering meme coins, Shiba Inu and its closely related coins like Bone ShibaSwap are on a bullish roll.
The SHIB token has surged nearly 14% in the past 24 hours, while the BONE token marks an intraday rise of more than 17%. Will this recovery run propel the BONE token price to the $1 mark?
BONE Price Analysis
The bullish recovery in BONE comes days after a core Shiba Inu team member, Lucie, highlighted the possibility of a massive comeback in the governance token. In a tweet, Lucie compared BONE to top altcoins like Cardano and XRP in their undervalued years, witnessing intense consolidation.
In the weekly chart, the BONE token price has showcased a falling wedge pattern since early 2023. The short-term resurgence in the BONE token price marks a positive comeback within the wedge pattern.
Bone ShibaSwap Price Chart
With a 61% surge last week, the BONE token price completed a morning star pattern. Furthermore, with a bullish reversal pattern near the support trend line, the uptrend continues with a 12% surge this week.
Currently, BONE token trades at a market price of $0.4124, with an intraday recovery of nearly 10%. Supporting the chances of a bullish comeback, the MACD and signal lines are on the verge of marking a bullish crossover.
This will increase the possibility of a breakout rally in the BONE token. However, the 7-day high at $0.4778 marks a bullish failure to sustain dominance above the 50-week EMA line.
Thus, the average line acts as a critical resistance close to the overhead resistance trend line. The dynamic resistance at $0.47, close to the $0.50 psychological mark, reveals a strong supply zone.
BONE Token Price Targets
If the uptrend continues and BONE manages to break above the $0.50 psychological mark, the meme coin could experience a skyrocketing rally. Based on Fibonacci levels, this bullish continuation could bring the price closer to the 50% Fibonacci level, near the $1 psychological mark.
