Bitcoin Eyes $95k as Greed Spikes in the Crypto Market

Bitcoin hints at a potential breakout rally to $95k. However, is a correction to $85k looming before the bull run begins?

As Bitcoin momentarily hits $88,500, the broader market optimism spikes, with traders anticipating a price surge above $100,000. The institutional support, combined with the increased adoption of Bitcoin-featured products, supports the possibility of a bullish rally.

However, the short-term analysis warns of a potential correction before the bull run picks up pace. Will this short-term shakeout result in a retest of the $85,000 mark?

Santiment Warns of Potential Correction as Traders Turn Greedy

According to a recent tweet by Santiment, the crypto market is witnessing a rise in greed among traders as Bitcoin hits $88,500. Increased mentions of Bitcoin reaching the $100,000 mark, and even as high as $159,000, across social media reflect growing greed among the crypto crowd.

Based on mentions of Bitcoin’s high prices from $100k to $159k, compared to low prices ranging from below $69k to $10k, Santiment highlights the current surge in greed. Furthermore, it suggests that this is a good time to book profits.

The market intelligence platform also warns that crowds often get these predictions wrong. Essentially, the spikes in higher price predictions may signal an upcoming drop.

Miners Hold BTC Amid Rising Optimism

As the market turns greedy, Bitcoin miners are holding onto their supply. According to a recent tweet by crypto analyst Ali Martinez, Bitcoin miners have avoided significant selling activity over the past 24 hours.

This has resulted in a significant increase in Bitcoin miner reserves. CryptoQuant data reveal that the BTC miner reserve stands at 1.8124 million BTC, worth nearly $159 billion.

BlackRock Drives Bitcoin ETFs Inflow

On March 25, the daily total net inflow of the U.S. Bitcoin spot ETFs was $26.83 million, marking the eighth consecutive day of inflows. Out of 12 ETFs, 9 recorded net-zero flows, while Bitwise and WisdomTree recorded outflows of $10.06 million and $5.13 million, respectively.

BlackRock recorded an inflow of $42.03 million, driving its cumulative net inflow to $39.83 billion. As of March 25, BlackRock’s net assets totaled $50.58 billion. The resurgence in demand for U.S. Bitcoin spot ETFs supports the possibility of a renewed bull run.

Bitcoin Could See $85k Retest Before A Breakout Rally

Despite the growing support and improving market sentiment, Bitcoin’s price action warns of a double top reversal. On the 4-hour chart, Bitcoin shows a bullish struggle to overcome the local resistance trendline.

Bitcoin Price Analysis
Bitcoin Price Analysis

This creates a double top pattern with a neckline at the 61.80% Fibonacci level at $86,146. Currently, Bitcoin trades at $87,306, taking a minor step back from the overhead trendline.

Furthermore, there is a convergence between the MACD and signal lines, signaling a potential negative crossover. This suggests a slight drop in bullish momentum.

As a result, the BTC price trend warns of a potential double top reversal, with a retest of a local support trendline near the $85,000 mark. However, the neckline at the 61.80% Fibonacci level could support a post-retest reversal.

In such a case, a bullish continuation is likely to result in a trendline breakout rally. The unleashed momentum could drive the BTC price to the 78.60% Fibonacci level near $95,000.

Here Are Settlement Terms As Ripple CLO Shares Last Updates on SEC Lawsuit

0

Popular crypto payments company Ripple reaches an agreement with the SEC to dismiss its cross-appeal challenging the regulator’s partial court victory.

Ripple’s CLO Stuart Alderoty revealed the development yesterday in a tweet, which he characterized as his ‘last update on the lawsuit ever.’

Recall that Ripple filed its cross-appeal weeks after the SEC submitted an appeal notice to the Second Circuit. At the time, the company challenged the court’s declaration that its institutional sales were securities.

The firm was essentially looking to overturn a ruling that saw Judge Analisa Torres slam a $125 million fine against it, alongside an injunction prohibiting future institutional sales.

Terms of Ripple’s Agreement with SEC

With Ripple dropping its cross-appeal, it agreed to pay only $50 million as a fine to the SEC instead of the $125 million Judge Torres initially ordered. Notably, Ripple had deposited the complete $125 million cash to an interest-bearing account last year, pending the final resolution of the lawsuit.

Based on the agreement, Ripple will pay $50 million to the SEC, while the remaining $75 million will return to the company. Further, Alderoty mentioned that the SEC would ask the federal court to dismiss the permanent injunction on Ripple’s future XRP sales to institutions.

Meanwhile, the Ripple CLO stressed that the latest agreement is subject to formal approval at the SEC, usual court processes, and the drafting of final documents before the settlement becomes official.

Next Actions

As previously reported, the SEC could discuss the Ripple case at its upcoming closed meeting tomorrow. At the meeting, SEC commissioners will likely vote to approve the appeal dismissal, with an official announcement to follow suit.

This statement will confirm the end of the Ripple lawsuit, which has lingered for more than four years. After the statement, the parties will work with the court to make the resolution official.

Crypto Enthusiasts React

In the meantime, the broader crypto community has been commending Ripple for reaching favorable settlement terms with the SEC. This includes paying a lower fine and having the SEC lift the permanent injunction, which would allow it to sell XRP to U.S. institutions.

According to Attorney Bill Morgan, Ripple might adopt a different approach in selling XRP to U.S.-based institutional clients–one that differs from its previous strategy, which constituted investment contracts.

Analyst Shares Where to Start Taking Profits When XRP Hits $44

0

A well-known analyst has identified an extended target for XRP, further sharing where market participants could consider taking profit.

Despite the occasional bullish developments, the XRP price has not recorded the much-needed explosive run. These developments have included progress on XRP ETFs, inclusion of XRP in a U.S. strategic stockpile and the SEC’s decision to drop its appeal against Ripple.

While bullish sentiments have sprung up with these developments, XRP has failed to breach the resistance level of around $2.6 to $2.8. However, analysts like EGRAG Crypto are confident that when a breakout occurs, the impact could be exceptional.

XRP Retesting Triangle Breakout

EGRAG stressed this in one of his recent analyses, bringing up what he called an “extended target” for the asset once it transcends this range-bound phase. His chart identified what appears to be an unconventional ascending triangle pattern on the weekly chart.

Specifically, the triangle features a flat upper trendline, indicating resistance around the $2 psychological level, and an upward-slanting lower trendline showing higher lows. Notably, while XRP observed higher lows, the resistance at the upper trendline hindered a breakout for nearly seven years.

The asset attempted to breach this resistance in April 2021 but observed a roadblock at $1.96. Interestingly, the next attempt came up in November to December 2024, during which XRP surpassed the $2 psychological mark. This allowed it to breach the upper trendline’s resistance.

However, EGRAG’s chart shows that the recent pullback from the January 2015 high of $3.4 is an attempt to retest the triangle breakout. Once this retest is complete and XRP maintains a position above $2 and the upper trendline, an explosive run could occur.

XRP Breakout Targets and Profit-Taking Zone

The analyst has presented multiple targets for when this explosive rally materializes, with the conservative target coming in at $15. This represents the lowest target for this run, demanding a 514% increase from the current XRP price. The next target, which comes from a normal measurement of the breakout, rests at $22.

XRP 1W Chart EGRAG Crypto

Meanwhile, EGRAG’s personal target for the run has always been $27. Last December, EGRAG presented this $27 target following a breach of what he calls the Break of Structure (BOS). In January 2025, he also predicted a run to $27, citing a “Megaphone” pattern.

However, for this analysis, the market analyst believes XRP has the potential to surpass his personal target of $27. Accordingly, he revealed a more substantial “extended target” of $44, representing a massive 1,703% increase from current levels.

Despite his ambitious targets, EGRAG suggested that investors take profit to the top. According to him, market participants can start taking profit once XRP reaches $5 and then continue until the $9 mark. Currently, XRP changes hands at $2.44, up 1.12% over the past 24 hours.

Here’s Why XRP May Still Have Room for Further Upside

0

Market analyst Dom believes XRP could see further price upside, citing historical price behavior and current market conditions.

In a recent analysis, he pointed out that XRP has displayed a particular pattern at cycle tops in the past, seeing rapid spikes followed by immediate declines. However, the current price action deviates from this trend, suggesting there could be a potential for more upside.

This commentary comes when XRP is facing intense bearish pressure at the highs around $2. After each attempt to breach the $2.6 to $2.8 resistance range, the altcoin witnesses opposition. This has led to constant declines. Nonetheless, the asset has maintained a base at the lower end of the $2 mark.

Past Trend of Immediate Declines After Cycle Top

Dom believes this steady base is extremely bullish. He highlighted past market cycles where XRP saw sharp rallies but failed to hold gains.

For instance, XRP rose sharply to $0.0614 in December 2013 and immediately crashed to $0.00281 months later. It soared to $0.02803 by December 2014 and recorded another immediate drop. This repeated in January 2018, with a sharp spike to $3.8 and then a massive drop immediately.

The market also observed this trend in April 2021 when XRP rose to $1.96 and in July 2023, when it saw $0.95. In each of these cases, XRP never established a stable price range at the peak, meaning market participants did not reach a consensus on value. As a result, prices collapsed soon after.

XRP Maintains $2

However, this time, XRP has been trading above $2 for nearly three months, unlike previous cycles where it quickly reversed from highs. Dom believes prolonged price stability at this level suggests that the market is accepting these prices. This contrasts with previous tops.

XRP 10D Chart Dom
XRP 10D Chart | Dom

“The longer price spends time at a level, it’s always just reflective of how much market participants agree on that price,” the analyst remarked. In his view, the ongoing range formation could lead to a bullish expansion once the market reaches equilibrium.

Dom explained that true cycle tops tend to form quickly, without presenting traders much opportunity to exit at high levels. Since XRP continues to hold its range above $2, he sees a higher probability of continued upside rather than a downturn.

Furthermore, in past cycles, XRP saw sharp increases in volume during price spikes, followed by an equally swift drop-off as the market rejected those price levels. However, this time, volume remains steady, suggesting there is market participation at current prices.

If XRP was forming another classic cycle top, volume would likely have already faded, and price would have begun a sharp decline. Instead, the market continues to absorb supply at these levels.

While Dom has emphasized that there is a high possibility of further upside, it remains to be seen when a breakout from this range could occur. Analysts like Austin Hilton suggest the market could be awaiting a significant development. Currently, XRP changes hands at $2.43, down 1.28% in the past 24 hours.

Shiba Inu Team Teases Major DeFi Expansion with Shib Finance

The Shiba Inu team has revealed an ambitious vision for the ecosystem with Shib Finance, a next-generation decentralized finance (DeFi) platform.

In an update today, Shiba Inu marketing specialist Lucie confirmed the upcoming launch of Shib Finance. The announcement, initially made by “Shibarium Updates,” stated that the DeFi platform promises to reshape the way users engage with financial services.

Specifically, Shib Finance looks to introduce lending, borrowing, and savings, moving beyond simple token swapping. This move represents a significant step toward expanding Shiba Inu’s utility.

According to the announcement, Shib Finance will not rely solely on traditional collateral-based lending models. Instead, it will incorporate on-chain reputation systems, allowing users to access financial tools based on their participation and credibility within the ecosystem.

Reputation-Based Lending and Undercollateralized Loans

One of the standout features teased for Shib Finance is Reputation-Based Lending. In this model, users with a proven history of trustworthiness can borrow without requiring excessive collateral.

Notably, the integration of Shib Attestation, Karma Engine, and a Privacy-Powered Identity Layer will help establish credibility within the ecosystem.

Additionally, organizations with strong on-chain standing could be eligible for undercollateralized loans. This feature could present businesses within the SHIB ecosystem with new financial opportunities.

Notably, to emphasize the significance of this feature, Shibarium Updates pointed out that fewer than ten DeFi platforms offer any form of reputation-based or undercollateralized lending, and most of these are limited to institutions.

It also highlighted that almost no platform offers fully decentralized, on-chain reputation lending for regular users.

“Shiba Inu would be among the first to make this accessible to the broader crypto community,” it remarked.

A Full DeFi Toolbox for the SHIB Army

Beyond lending and borrowing, Shib Finance will introduce a variety of advanced DeFi tools, including:

  • Savings vaults for passive earnings
  • Synthetic assets to diversify exposure
  • Privacy-focused identity verification to enhance security and trust

Shiba Inu Marketing Lead Reacts

Shiba Inu’s marketing specialist, Lucie, called attention to the update and emphasized that Shib Finance will make borrowing, saving, and earning more accessible for the Shib Army.

“Shib Finance is on the way—think saving, borrowing, and earning made easy,” Lucie remarked.

With this development, the Shiba Inu ecosystem is advancing into a more comprehensive financial network, far beyond its meme-inspired origins, offering services previously limited to major DeFi platforms.

XRP Should Be Above $100 Under Normal Circumstances: Crypto Founder

In a recent tweet, Edoardo Farina, the founder of Alpha Lions Academy, shared a bold perspective on XRP potential.

Farina expressed his belief that, under normal market conditions, XRP would already be trading above $100. Notably, XRP is currently worth $2.44, trading 36% below its all-time high. However, this price reflects an impressive 286% gain over the past year.

XRP enthusiasts believe the token is undervalued, and Farina suggests that XRP’s value does not currently reflect its true potential. He emphasized that XRP is the only fully regulated crypto asset in the U.S., and as such, it should be trading at a much higher price if the market was functioning under “normal” circumstances.

Forces Holding XRP Back

Commentators like Farina attribute this discrepancy to external factors, including regulatory pressure from the Ripple lawsuit. Notably, XRP faced significant challenges amid legal battles with the U.S. SEC. The legal action created uncertainty in the market but was eased in July 2023 when the court ruled that XRP is not a security.

While the judgment briefly boosted XRP’s price, the momentum was short-lived. The XRP price later retraced to levels it traded at before the court ruling. Enthusiasts attributed the performance to the ongoing Ripple lawsuit, arguing that a final ruling would propel XRP.

However, the final judgment came in August 2024, and XRP’s price remained largely the same. The main surge for XRP came after Gary Gensler announced his resignation from the SEC in November 2024. Meanwhile, the most recent announcement of the SEC dropping its appeal against Ripple failed to boost XRP’s price further.

Commentators view all of these factors as abnormal market conditions for XRP, hindering its expected growth.

Meanwhile, Farina noted that the largest transfers of wealth typically don’t occur under “normal” conditions. This statement suggests that, regardless of the challenges facing XRP, a major disruption could still occur that would erase years of underperformance.

Biggest Candle in History Upon Breaking Free from Bitcoin

Farina concluded his tweet by suggesting that once XRP “breaks free from Bitcoin,” the asset will see an explosive candle. This implies that XRP’s price, like other altcoins, mirrors Bitcoin’s price performance. He hopes for XRP to decouple from Bitcoin’s movement and move independently.

According to Farina, this independence from Bitcoin’s movements could trigger a rally unlike anything seen before in XRP’s history.

“I expect the most explosive candle in history once XRP finally breaks free from Bitcoin,” Farina wrote.

CME Group Partners with Google Cloud to Explore On-chain Tokenization

0

Derivatives marketplace CME Group has joined forces with Google Cloud to pilot advanced solutions for wholesale payments and asset tokenization.

According to a recent press release, the partnership will leverage Google Cloud’s distributed ledger technology, the Google Cloud Universal Ledger (GCUL), to allow secure financial transactions.

Details of the CME Group and Google Cloud Partnership

Terry Duffy, CME Group’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, stressed that the initiative syncs with the current administration’s push for sensible market structure legislation.

Notably, he highlighted that GCUL could improve processes related to collateral, margin, settlement, and fee payments, especially as the financial sector moves towards continuous, 24/7 trading cycles. As a result, the collaboration is looking to test how this could work out.

Recent developments around on-chain tokenization points to its growing importance in the financial sector. In 2024, the global tokenization market was worth $1.32 billion. However, experts have projected it to reach $3.37 billion by 2032, a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12.4%.

This growth is largely due to the increasing adoption of blockchain technology to convert physical and digital assets into tradable tokens in an effort to bolster security, liquidity, and transparency. CME Group and Google Cloud’s partnership is the latest effort.

Notably, Rohit Bhat, General Manager of Financial Services at Google Cloud, confirmed that the company has a commitment to providing infrastructure that speeds up innovation. He noted that the partnership with CME Group shows how collaborations can lead to opportunities within the financial market.

For context, the GCUL platform is a programmable, distributed ledger that integrates with traditional financial institutions. It helps simplify account and asset management and enables transfers within a secure, permissioned network.

Building upon their ongoing partnership, CME Group and Google Cloud plan to commence direct testing with market participants later this year, with plans to introduce new services by 2026.

CME and Google Cloud Embracing Blockchain

Interestingly, CME Group has a history of embracing blockchain technology for better offerings. The company has expanded its crypto derivatives portfolio by introducing futures contracts for assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum. The firm overtook Binance in Bitcoin futures volume at one point.

In addition, CME Group has explored the development of flexible blockchain systems. One example is a patent filing for a blockchain-based system that allows protocol modifications without requiring consensus from all network participants.

Further, Google Cloud has also been proactive in the blockchain space. In October 2022, the company launched the Blockchain Node Engine, a service that helps to simplify the deployment and management of blockchain nodes.

Custodia Bank Launches First US Bank-Issued Stablecoin on Ethereum

0

Custodia Bank is venturing into the stablecoin business.

On Tuesday, March 25, Custodia Bank disclosed that it had collaborated with Vantage Bank to tokenize U.S. dollar demand deposits on Ethereum, making the token “Avit” the first-ever U.S. bank-issued stablecoin on a permissionless blockchain.

Additionally, Custodia asserts that the product complies with all relevant anti-money laundering and sanctions regulations.

Commenting on the development, Custodia Bank founder and CEO Caitlin Long stressed that Avit opened the door for legacy finance to benefit from blockchain technology’s global, permissionless, low-cost, and programmable nature within the banking system, something she asserts was not previously possible.

She argued that unlike other stablecoins classified by the Federal Reserve as synthetic dollars, Avit represented “real dollars” as it was issued by a bank authorized to take demand deposits. This distinction, she believes, will likely lower the barriers to entry for traditional finance (TradFi).

However, it is not Avit’s blockchain adoption potential that has caught the attention of crypto natives.

“Bitcoin Maxi Issues Stablecoin on Ethereum”

For many observers, the shock is the decision of Custodia, run by Long, a notorious Bitcoin maximalist, to launch on Ethereum. The situation was made even more ironical as Custodia seemed to shy away from mentioning Ethereum in their announcement, with some poking the crypto bank to “say Ethereum.”

Even VanEck’s Head of Digital Assets Research, Matt Sigel, joined in on the jabs, humorously “fixing” the Custodia announcement headline to: “Bitcoin Maxi Issues Stablecoin on Ethereum.”

Whatever the case, Custodia’s recent venture comes as the Trump administration is pushing for stablecoin regulations before the end of the year.

In line with this push, the Senate Banking Committee recently passed the Guiding and Establishing National Innovation for U.S. Stablecoins (GENIUS) Act to a full Senate vote.

BlackRock Expands $1.7B Tokenized Money Market Funds to Solana

0

BlackRock has launched its blockchain-based treasury funds on the Solana network, expanding accessibility to the $1.7 billion financial product.

BlackRock’s technological partner, Securitize, announced today that the $11.6 trillion AUM asset manager is expanding its asset tokenization agenda to the Solana network. Per an exclusive report by Fortune, the BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Fund (BUIDL) is now available on Solana.

The institution-grade, blockchain-based money market funds bring traditional US dollar yield on-chain, presenting eligible investors with tokenized versions of the instrument. Notably, Solana becomes the seventh network where users can access BUIDL, which is already available on Ethereum, Optimism, Aptos, Avalanche, Arbitrum, and Polygon.

For context, BUIDL launched in March 2024 and has accumulated $1.7 billion in assets under management (AUM), domiciled in cash and Treasury bills. With the growing traction, market observers expect the fund to hit $2 billion in April.

$1.7B Tokenized Treasury Funds Launch on Solana

Solana’s swift transactional acumen and cheap fees have been its major lure, threatening Ethereum’s dominance. Institutions are beginning to maximize these qualities, evident in the increasing traction to the blockchain.

BlackRock’s tokenized fund integration into Solana follows a similar ploy by financial titan Franklin Templeton. Particularly, the prominent asset manager launched the Franklin Onchain US Government Money Fund (FOBXX) on the Solana network in February. Notably, the $694 billion fund is the third-largest blockchain-based money market, just below BUIDL and Hashnote’s USYC fund.

Securitize COO Michael Sonnenshein stated that expanding tokenized treasuries to blockchain makes them “unboring.” Citing the time constraints of the traditional market, he noted that on-chain integration gives investors 24/7 access to the funds while increasing convenience.

BlackRock Expands Crypto Footprint

Meanwhile, BlackRock’s BUIDL launch on Solana is part of the asset manager’s plan to expand its footprint in the crypto space. Last year, the $11.6 trillion asset manager launched a US Bitcoin and Ethereum spot exchange-traded fund (ETF), recording incredible success, especially with the former.

On Tuesday, BlackRock further expanded its Bitcoin ETP to Europe. It announced that the product would launch in Xetra and Euronext Paris and Amsterdam. This followed an earlier entry into Canada to grow access to Bitcoin through ETFs.

With the breakthrough, the firm seems to have switched its focus to asset tokenization. BlackRock’s CEO, Larry Fink, believes moving traditional investment vehicles to the blockchain is the next big thing.

Top Analyst Shares Dogecoin “Heist” Plan Amid Breakout from Key Resistance

A prominent analyst has shared a bullish price development on Dogecoin after a resistance moving average breakout, predicting its possible target.

Dogecoin has outpaced other high-caliber assets in the past 24 hours amid bullish ecosystem development and momentum from a broader market recovery. The doggy-themed meme coin has surged 5.30% within this period, with Cardano (2.73%) and Shiba Inu ($2.45%) the only assets that come close to the gains in the top 20 rankings by market cap.

Notably, the surge coincided with a recent announcement from the House of Doge, Dogecoin Foundation’s corporate arm, that it has established an official DOGE reserve. The firm launched the reserve with an initial 10 million DOGE purchase, pledging to stack more of the meme coin in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, Dogecoin’s recent surge has seen it cross a crucial resistance zone, kickstarting what an analyst describes as a “heist” on the DOGE/USDT market.

Analyst Dissects Heist Plans

In a TradingView analysis on March 24, pseudonymous market watcher Thief Trader identified a bullish price development on the Dogecoin 2-hour time frame. The commentator stated that DOGE gained momentum after a northward trajectory from its accumulation zone.

Furthermore, the leading meme coin has defied a dynamic resistance moving average (MA), a possible catalyst for further price upsides. Having turned the indicator to a support area, the analyst asserted a surge to the next supply zone.

For the heist setup, Thief Trader recommended immediate entry but using the 15 or 30-minute timeframe for a sniper buy limit. Furthermore, he set his stop loss at $0.16, an area below the MA trendline, but advised trader discretion based on risk and reward appetite.

Meanwhile, he speculated an 18% surge from the current market price to $0.22. He identified that the price level lies at the average true range (ATR) line, which specifies an area marked with strong resistance and liquidity zones.

Correlating Analysis

Interestingly, the Thief Trader’s commentary correlates with a recent analysis by prominent market watcher, Ali Martinez. In a recent post, he also asserted that Dogecoin has broken from an inverted descending triangle on the hourly timeframe and looks to sustain momentum.

Martinez also predicted a 16% surge from the break point, which could see Dogecoin cross the $0.200 price mark. Notably, the market expert has made more bullish price calls for DOGE, including an ambitious surge to $20.

At the time of writing, Dogecoin trades at $0.1856, up a mild 2% since today.
