Bitcoin Long Liquidations Hit Highest Level Since November in Recent Market Dump

0

Bitcoin long liquidations over the past 24 hours have hit their highest level in about three months.

Specifically, over $245 million in Bitcoin long positions have been liquidated in the past 24 hours. According to a Tuesday, February 25 report from crypto analytics platform CryptoQuant, this is the highest level of long liquidations the market has experienced since November 2024.

The liquidations come as Bitcoin dropped from Monday, February 24, highs of $96,500 to below the psychologically important $90,000 support level.

In the recent CryptoQuant report, analyst “MAC_D” asserted that Bitcoin could rebound for two reasons. First, he contended that such leverage wipeouts thinned the order book, allowing for strong moves with minimal volume.

Secondly, he noted that the $89,600 price level was likely to support the asset’s price, highlighting that it was the average entry price for whales that have held for less than six months.

At the time of writing, however, Bitcoin has breached this support to, at one point, trade below $87,000. “MAC_D” had suggested that a breach of the level could increase the “likelihood of a sharp decline.”

Despite this note of caution, several chart analysts remain optimistic. For example, “Titan of Crypto” has asserted that Bitcoin could be gearing up for an explosive move, citing an inverse head and shoulders pattern on the weekly candle chart.

At the same time, “DonAlt” has described the recent correction as simply a sweep of the weekly range lows, contending that close above the lows will likely precede a bounce next week.

Amid this mix of sentiments, Bitcoin is exchanging hands around the $89,200 level after paring some of its earlier losses.

Here’s How Much XRP You Need to Actually Retire, According to Expert

0

Robert Doyle, the founder of Cryptonairz and known as Crypto Sensei, has shared a detailed analysis on how much XRP an individual would need to retire comfortably.

In a recent video, Doyle examined the economics of XRP, looking at its circulating supply and potential price growth. He also explored the future impact of staking and token lockups. Using these factors, he provided key insights that could help XRP holders plan for retirement.

Key to Price Growth: Reducing XRP Circulating Supply

Currently, the circulating supply of XRP stands at 58 billion tokens. However, Doyle emphasizes that XRP’s supply must decrease to pave the way for significant price increases.

One key factor he suggested was XRP staking. Through staking on the XRP Ledger, a large portion of XRP could be locked away, reducing the circulating supply. Other strategies, such as escrow lockups, treasury bonds, and token burns, could further reduce XRP in circulation.

According to Doyle, these measures could have a profound impact, with supply constraints leading to price increases.

As more institutional investors get involved and hold XRP for long periods, the supply of available tokens on exchanges will naturally decrease, potentially raising the price for retail investors.

What Would It Take for XRP to Reach $1,000?

Doyle also explores the potential price of XRP if significant amounts of capital flow into the XRP Ledger. He suggests that if $5 trillion worth of assets were locked up in treasury bonds on the XRP Ledger, the price of XRP could rise to $1,000 per token.

In his view, by locking up XRP in assets like treasury bonds or stablecoins, the supply would decrease, which could reflect in the price.

Moreover, Doyle presented another speculative scenario where $20 trillion flows into the XRP Ledger through various financial instruments. In this scenario, XRP could soar to as much as $368 per token, thanks to the reduced circulating supply.

XRP Holdings and Retirement Planning

Based on this analysis, Doyle suggests that the potential for early retirement is enticing for those holding XRP as a long-term investment. Doyle calculates that if XRP reaches $1,000 per token and one holds 2,000 XRP, they could amass $2 million.

That’s a solid nest egg for retirement, especially considering the growing interest in staking and the potential for earning passive income from XRP holdings.

Doyle also looked into the cost of living across several major cities globally. He revealed that a $2 million stake in XRP could allow one to retire in cities like San Francisco, Sydney, and London.

For instance, a single person in San Francisco would need around $60,000 annually, while a family of four would require about $92,000.

With the potential returns from staking, XRP holders could comfortably cover their living expenses and live a comfortable life in some of the most expensive cities in the world.

Furthermore, Doyle’s analysis suggests that it’s not unreasonable to think that XRP’s value could rise significantly over the next decade.

He stressed that with the rise of partnerships with major financial institutions, XRP could become a cornerstone of global finance, making it a promising asset.

Notably, XRP is currently trading at $2.18, meaning reaching $1,000 would require a formidable price surge of 39,900%. Some market commentators estimate this could happen within the next decade.

Buying the Dip? Bitcoin Accumulation Wallets Scoop Up 26K BTC Worth $2B+ Amid Recent Slump

0

Bitcoin accumulation addresses just recorded an inflow of over $2 billion worth of BTC amid the latest market slump.

This is according to a disclosure from leading on-chain analytics resource CryptoQuant. Notably, the platform called attention to a massive inflow into the Bitcoin Accumulation Addresses, a cohort of wallets with balances each exceeding 10 BTC and no history of outgoing transactions.

Bitcoin Accumulation Wallets Cop 26,430 BTC

Particularly, Ki Young Ju, founder and CEO of CryptoQuant, set an alert for when these addresses witness substantial inflows involving over 20K BTC. The alert was set off today following the recent movement of exactly 26,430 BTC worth $2.35 billion into the addresses yesterday, Feb. 24.

What’s interesting is that the accumulation spree comes on the back of a recent price crash that has seen Bitcoin finally give up the $90,000 mark for the first time since mid-January. Currently changing hands around $88K, BTC is down more than 7.8% over the past two days of the new week as macroeconomic headwinds loom.

Despite the bearish pressure this week, accumulation seems to be on the high side, as evidenced in the recent 26,430 BTC inflow. Interestingly, this marks the highest volume of inflow into these addresses in over three weeks. The last time they witnessed a higher volume was on Feb. 3, involving 31,272 BTC.

Notably, that day, Bitcoin observed an impressive 3.87% price gain, eventually reclaiming the $100K price mark and closing the day above it. However, bearish forces retook control of the scene, leading to a consolidation that has persisted throughout the month until the recent dump.

A Persistent Accumulation Trend

A closer look at the accumulation addresses confirms that the ongoing inflow trend picked up since last November, following Donald Trump’s victory in the U.S. elections. For instance, the addresses copped 47,305 BTC on Dec. 11, 2024, the largest daily inflow in over two and a half years.

Although the revival of the inflow trend coincided with Bitcoin’s resurgence last November, with the asset eventually hitting a new all-time high of $109K last month, the recent price crash has not particularly discouraged the accumulation, as they have persisted throughout February.

This indicates that whales remain confident in Bitcoin’s potential notwithstanding the short-term bearish pull. For one, Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) has continued to procure more Bitcoin tokens, recently accumulating 20,356 BTC worth $1.99 billion to bring its stash close to the 500K BTC mark.

After yesterday’s dip, which saw Bitcoin crash 6%, Strategy Chairman and Bitcoin permabull Michael Saylor suggested that the leading crypto asset was now “on sale.” Essentially, Saylor regards the current dip as an opportunity to procure BTC at a discount, a sentiment apparently held by other long-term investors.

Several indicators confirm this. For example, the CryptoQuant Binary CDD metric now has a 0 value, indicating that more long-term holders are holding onto their coins. In addition, Bitcoin exchange reserve has continued to drop, possibly signaling an intention among investors to HODL their tokens in cold wallets.

Currently, Bitcoin trades for $88,886, down 2.81% today after a more substantial 4.89% slump yesterday. Despite the bearish price action, Young Ju insists that the bull market remains intact even if BTC drops to $77,000.

This Bullish Bitcoin Pattern is Still in Play Despite Recent Market Slide: Analyst

Amid the latest Bitcoin correction, highly followed crypto analyst “Titan of Crypto” stresses that the asset is still in a bullish market structure.

The crypto market has been in free fall over the past 24 hours amid heightened macroeconomic and geopolitical concerns. Bitcoin has plummeted nearly 11% from Monday, February 24, highs of $96,500 to three-month lows below the $87,000 price point. But amid the panic, one prominent analyst has offered a note of hope.

Analyst Teases “Explosive” Bitcoin Move

Amid Bitcoin’s correction, highly followed crypto analyst “Titan of Crypto” has stressed that the asset is still in a bullish market structure.

In an X post on Monday, February 24, Titan of Crypto contended that Bitcoin is still trading in line with a bullish inverse head and shoulders chart pattern on its weekly chart that it appears to have broken out of in Q4 2024.

“The next BTC move could be explosive,” the analyst enthused, sharing a chart that suggests that the asset’s main target is above the $125,000 price point.

For context, at the current price of about $87,800, this target represents an over 40% upside potential.

Meanwhile, Titan of Crypto is not the only analyst who suggests that Bitcoin’s bullish structure remains intact despite the recent dip.

Prominent analyst Don Alt described the recent dip on Tuesday, February 25, as simply a test of the range lows on the weekly chart, noting that a close above the lows could lead to a bounce next week.

Similarly, “ZeroHedge” has warned followers against getting shaken out by the market turbulence, suggesting that Bitcoin is replicating its 2017 run and still has much room for the upside.

Perhaps supporting these views, crypto analytics firm CryptoQuant has revealed that whales are buying the dip, with 26,430 BTC worth over $2 billion flowing into accumulation addresses.

Meanwhile, amid this sea of positive views, Standard Chartered Head of Digital Asset Research Geoffrey Kendrick has cautioned that investors should not buy the dip just yet, noting that he anticipates a further decline closer to the $80,000 price level.

Only 2,505 XRP Needed to Be Among Richest Holders, Expert Says You’re Very Early

0

Popular XRP commentator Edoardo Farina has emphasized how early current XRP investors are in their exposure to the asset amid the broader market downturn.

At press time, XRP is trading with a massive 12% dip, priced at $2.18. Meanwhile, XRP touched $2.08 earlier today, marking a more significant 17% dip from the intraday high of $2.50.

While this price performance is concerning, Farina believes XRP holders should be less worried about the price action. He stressed the significance of the earliness in XRP by highlighting the small amount of tokens it takes to rank among the wealthiest XRP holders.

Specifically, he pointed out that owning just 2,505 XRP tokens is enough to be among the top 10% of addresses holding XRP. Notably, out of XRP’s 6.19 million wallets, only 619,661 addresses hold 2,505 or more.

This suggests that the broader spectrum of XRP enthusiasts hold fewer than 2,500 tokens. Specifically, over 5 million XRP wallets hold just 500 XRP or fewer. Interestingly, despite their overwhelming numbers, their cumulative holding is around 224 million tokens.

Joining the Top XRP Holders

Essentially, given the small number of holders in the top ten and the seemingly low barrier to enter the XRP rich list, Farina has continued to emphasize the need for XRP enthusiasts to make more efforts to be among the top holders. He believes those on the rich list stand a better chance of financial success than those holding lower amounts of XRP tokens.

His calculation is that XRP could be worth thousands per unit in the future. For instance, in a hypothetical scenario where XRP is worth $1,000 per coin, wallets holding 2,505 XRP would be millionaires.

Specifically, the value of the wallet would be $2.505 million. Meanwhile, it costs $5,460 to acquire this portfolio today, an amount out of reach for many.

Many Will Be Priced Out

For those expressing concerns about this amount being out of reach, Farina often reminds them that entering the 10% XRP holder rank used to be a lot cheaper, particularly as of November 2024, when XRP was last seen at $0.50.

At the time, acquiring 2,505 XRP demanded a financial commitment of $1,252.50, but the amount has more than tripled since then. Farina believes many will continue to be priced out unless they take strategic steps to consolidate their XRP holdings.

XRP Army Remains Hopeful

Commenting on Farina’s latest post, an XRP holder raised eyebrows about the XRP millionaire dream often promoted in the community. She pointed out that she has been holding onto XRP for many years, and throughout that time, she has heard endless good news about XRP’s future that almost never actually came true.

“Regardless, I’m staying optimistic and will keep holding on,” she said.

Shiba Inu Analysis: Will Bears Push SHIB Below $0.000010?

Shiba Inu plunges under $0.000015 amid the broader market crash. Will the increased supply drop SHIB to $0.000010?

As Bitcoin plunges under the $89,000 mark, the meme coin segment is down to $55.04 billion. With an overall segment drop of 12.89%, Shiba Inu is down nearly 10% over the past few hours.

With the increasing selling pressure, is Shiba Inu likely to test the $0.000010 psychological support? Let’s find out.

SHIB Price Plunges 11.77%: More Pain Ahead?

As the broader market falls, Shiba Inu marks an 11.77% drop last night. Under the influence of the 20-day EMA acting as dynamic resistance, the meme coin extends its downward trend.

Shiba Ina Price Chart

After an intraday fall of 2.27%, Shiba Inu is currently trading at $0.000013333. Shiba Inu’s overnight downfall marked the lowest closing price since September 18, 2024.

With the increased bearish influence, the 100-day and 200-day EMA lines have given a negative crossover. Furthermore, the MACD and Signal lines have also given a negative crossover.

As Shiba Inu continues breaking critical support levels, the price is approaching a descending trendline for potential support. Furthermore, Fibonacci projections suggest a potential decline toward the $0.00001078 support level.

Whale Holdings Amid Shiba Inu Decline

During the recent market crash, whale holdings of Shiba Inu took a quick plunge. According to IntoTheBlock, the total Shiba Inu whale holdings in USD have dropped significantly over the past week.

On February 17, wallets with a Shiba Inu holding worth more than $100,000 were at $15 billion. However, with the recent plunge, their values have crashed to $12.98 billion. As whales flood the market with excessive supply, the downfall in the meme coin is expected to continue.

Shiba Inu at a Crossroads: Is $0.000010 Next?

Hence, with the technical indicators triggering a sell signal and whales offloading in the market, the Shiba Inu market price is expected to retest the $0.000010 psychological mark.

Providing some hope, the descending support trendline remains the last bullish element for a reversal rally. However, the reversal rally will likely face resistance near the $0.000015 psychological level.

Bybit Hack Perpetrators on Pace to Launder Stolen Ethereum in “Half a Month”: Analyst

0

An on-chain analyst asserts that the Bybit hack perpetrators could launder the stolen Ethereum tokens within two weeks.

Hackers stunned the crypto community on Friday, February 21, by stealing $1.5 billion in Ethereum from leading crypto exchange Bybit in what has been described as the largest digital heist in history.

However, while the crypto market tries to pick up the pieces after the event, the culprits are already making quick work of moving the funds.

Bybit Hackers on the Move

“Half a month” or two weeks.

That’s how fast it could take the Bybit hackers to finish laundering funds stolen from the exchange, according to prominent on-chain analyst Yujin, popularly known as “EmberCN.”

The analyst based this view on the current pace at which hackers were moving the stolen assets. In an X post on Tuesday, February 25, they highlighted that the hackers had already moved 89,500 ETH worth roughly $224 million, or about 18% of the 499,000 ETH loot in the past two and a half days.

“If the frequency continues, the hacker will be able to exchange the remaining 410,000 ETH for other assets (BTC/DAI, etc.) in half a month,” the analyst’s translated statement read.

EmberCN further noted that the hackers have carried out most of the asset swaps on the embattled DeFi Layer-1 chain THORChain.

What You Need to Know About the Bybit Hack

For context, prominent on-chain sleuth ZachXBT was the first to draw attention to abnormal Ethereum outflows from Bybit on Friday, with the exchange’s CEO Ben Zhou confirming the exploit moments later.

Zhou explained that hackers were able to take control of the exchange’s Ethereum cold wallet by tricking signers of its wallet into signing a malicious transaction masked as a benign transfer from the cold wallet to the exchange’s hot wallet.

The exploit has since been attributed to North Korean hackers.

At the time of writing, Bybit claims that it has already covered the hole sparked by the theft. Crypto tracking service Lookonchain has suggested that the fresh ETH comes from a mix of “loans, whale deposits, and ETH purchases.”

Cardano Price Warns $0.65 Breakdown: Is $0.50 On Horizon?

Cardano (ADA) price has dropped by 10% within a wedge pattern, signaling a potential breakdown. Will a deeper correction push Cardano down to $0.50?

As Bitcoin drops under the $90,000 mark for the first time in a month, Cardano is down at $0.65. With an overnight crash of 10.05%, the bearish trend continues with an intraday drop of 5.42%.

With the increased anticipation of a downfall below the $0.65 support zone, the bearish sentiments over the ADA price trend are increasing significantly. Will this lead to a downfall in Cardano to $0.50?

Cardano Price Breakdown: Bearish Pressure Intensifies

In the daily chart, the ADA price trend reveals a bullish failure to overcome the 20-day EMA line. With an overhead rejection, the bullish failure to overcome the local resistance trendline has led to the current downfall.

Cardano ETF Proposal – Will This Spark a Recovery?

The short-term optimism in crypto traders comes with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) acknowledging 19b-4 filings to list Cardano ETF. NYSE Arca, a subsidiary of the NYSE Group, made the filing.

The proposal seeks approval to list and trade Grayscale’s Cardano Trust shares under NYSE Arca Rule 8.201-E (Commodity-Based Trust Shares).

Will Cardano Drop to $0.50 or Rebound?

As the broader market witnesses a major crash, the downfall to the support trendline near the $0.60 psychological mark seems inevitable. However, if the broader market stabilizes, the increased optimism with the SEC acknowledging Cardano’s ETF proposal could result in a bullish reversal within the falling wedge pattern.

Based on Fibonacci levels, the crucial support for Cardano now remains at the 23.60% Fibonacci retracement level at $0.53. On a bullish front, the potential resistance for the trendline breakout rally is the 50% Fibonacci level at $0.7746.

Here is How Much Holding 0.01 BTC Would Yield If BTC Reaches $13M as Predicted by Saylor

0

Holding 0.01 BTC could yield massive portfolio upsides if Bitcoin hits $13 million per coin, as Strategy (MicroStrategy) chairman Michael Saylor predicted.

Bitcoin’s price has surged extensively over the years, rewarding investors who have steadfastly held onto their bags. The pioneering cryptocurrency started off from less than $1 and rallied to an all-time high of $109,000 last month.

While buying 1 BTC could prove a herculean task for average investors following its current price, holding a fraction of the asset could still be rewarding. This article paints the picture of how much 0.01 BTC could be worth if Bitcoin hits a staggering $13 million per coin.

Is Bitcoin to $13M Possible?

Bitcoin’s historical performance and growing prospects in the financial market have shown that the premier asset has more room for expansion. Notably, MicroStrategy chairman Michael Saylor thinks these factors and new catalysts could spur a surge to $13 million by 2045.

The popular Bitcoin evangelist predicted a base 20% annual growth for the asset with an average rate of return (ARR) of 29%. Furthermore, his analysis stated that Bitcoin would capture 7% of the global market capital, citing its zero-counterparty risk.

Meanwhile, Saylor’s Strategy has aligned with this vision, incessantly stacking Bitcoin while prices remain far from the $13 million outlook. The firm currently holds 499,096 BTC, worth $44.64 billion at the current market price.

Here’s How Much 0.01 BTC Costs

Having established Bitcoin’s $13 million potential, here’s how much holding a fraction of it costs in the present market. At the time of writing, the pioneering cryptocurrency trades at $89,200, down over 6% in the past 24 hours.

As a result, acquiring 0.01 BTC would cost $892. It bears mentioning that the recent dip has ensured that Bitcoin sells at a discounted rate compared to its earlier prices. For context, buying 0.01 BTC in January while it traded above $100,000 would mean spending at least $1,000.

How Much $892 Will Be Worth If Bitcoin Hits $13M

Meanwhile, Bitcoin’s projected surge to $13 million from the current market price would be historic. The pioneering cryptocurrency would explode by a jaw-dropping 14,473% from $89,200 to attain the ambitious price target.

At a hypothetical $13 million per Bitcoin price, 0.01 BTC ($892 at CMP) would be worth $130,000. This aligns with the 14,473% upsurge from the current price buy.

Such a staggering portfolio upsurge reflects the prowess acquiring and holding Bitcoin could offer. Nonetheless, Saylor’s $13 million prediction remains speculative, as there is a chance that the asset may not attain the price mark in the speculated year.

Here’s How Much $10,000 Invested in XRP Has Grown Since 2020

0

A $10,000 investment in XRP since 2020 has yielded impressive returns, with other altcoins like XDC, HBAR, and SHX showing even greater growth.

A recent tweet from Vandell Aljarrah, co-founder of Black Swan Capitalist, has reignited discussions on the importance of early positioning in the crypto market. He highlighted the staggering gains that select altcoins like XRP have delivered since their lowest prices in 2020.

According to his calculations, a $10,000 investment in XRP at $0.17 would be worth $134,705 today at its present price of $2.29. This suggests that, over a five-year window, those holding XRP through this period have seen at least a 1,247% return.

The returns become even more significant when considering XRP’s peak valuation during this time. Specifically, at XRP’s peak price in January 2025, when it traded at $3.34, this portfolio would have been worth $196,470.

Meanwhile, during this five-year period, XRP never dipped below $0.17. Notably, the low occurred amid the initiation of the SEC lawsuit back in 2020.

While XRP’s price rebound from this low has been impressive, some other tokens have shown even more remarkable growth during the same period.

XDC, HBAR, and SHX Post Strong Gains

Aljarrah highlighted that XDC traded as low as $0.0003 in 2020 but is currently priced at $0.0777. At the low price, a $10,000 investment could have bought 33.33 million tokens. Notably, at the current price, that same investment would now be worth $2.59 million, representing a staggering 25,800% gain.

Other assets also saw exponential growth. Hedera (HBAR), which was priced at just $0.01 in 2020, has risen to $0.1964. This delivered a 1,864% return, turning a $10,000 investment into $196,400.

Lastly, SHX, another lesser-known cryptocurrency, would have also yielded an impressive return. Starting at just $0.0005 in 2020, a $10,000 investment would now be worth $226,000 by 2025, based on its current price of $0.0113.

Positioning Early

Aljarrah argued that these massive gains occurred even before a full-scale altcoin season, where liquidity typically floods into smaller assets, pushing prices even higher.

Based on these performances, Aljarrah stressed that early positioning is the strategy to capture gains. According to him, the key to success lies in recognizing opportunities early, before major price movements occur.

Despite these incredible returns, Aljarrah asks, “So, why do people still lose money in this market?”

This question highlights a paradox: while some early investors have seen huge gains, many others still fail to capitalize on similar opportunities. This may result from short-term holding behaviors, where investors hurriedly exit the market during periods of downturn. Essentially, market volatility and poor timing could all be contributing factors.
