Nasdaq-Listed Electric Vehicle Company Nuvve Adopts Bitcoin as Reserve Asset

0

Nuvve, a non-crypto, publicly traded company, has adopted Bitcoin as a strategic reserve asset, pledging 30% of its excess cash to stack the asset.

The green energy-focused electric vehicle firm announced in a press release on January 28 that it has adopted Bitcoin as a strategic reserve asset, becoming the latest to take the orange pill. According to the release, it would dedicate a considerable portion of its excess cash to buying and holding the pioneering cryptocurrency.

Another Day, Another Company Adopting Bitcoin

Creating a Bitcoin stockpile has become a growing trend among corporate firms. Pioneering large companies like MicroStrategy and smaller-capped ones like Matador and Kurl Technologies have adopted the asset amid growing economic turbulence and its capability to hedge against inflation.

Nuvve announced it would invest 30% of its reserve in Bitcoin, a long-standing plot to diversify its portfolio. The firm also revealed the adoption aligns with its plans to offer crypto payment options to its clients.

Known for its green energy campaign, Nuvve sells electric vehicle charging equipment. The company utilizes vehicle-to-grid technology, allowing it to resell excess electricity to the local grid.

Notably, Nuvve’s Q3 2024 report shows a profit of $1.92 million and excess cash slightly above $325,000. Assuming it remains within the range, committing 30% would amount to under 1 BTC at the current market price of $102,101.

Nonetheless, its stock (NASDAQ: NVVE) saw considerable changes after the announcement. It reached an intraday high of $4.39 before trending at $2.81 at the close of the day.

Growing List of Entities Holding Bitcoin

Data from Bitcoin Treasuries shows that 156 entities hold Bitcoin, seven of which created the stash in the past 30 days. Today, the firms hold over 3 million BTC, worth over 309 billion.

Of these firms, 78 are public, and 19 are private. Michael Saylor’s MicroStrategy, which holds 471,107 BTC ($48 billion), and Marathon Digital (MARA), with 44,893 BTC ($4.6 billion), lead the pecking order.

Meanwhile, the growing adoption correlates with a warmer embrace among entities globally. In addition to corporate firms, countries have also accelerated plans to buy Bitcoin. The United States, Russia, and Brazil are considering creating a national stockpile.

Analyst Says Dogecoin Could Surge 900% in 48 Hours, Suggests Not Betting Against It

0

Ali Martinez, a well-known market analyst, questions why traders would bet against Dogecoin, citing its historical penchant for rapid growth.

His latest commentary has become necessary amid the persistent market uncertainty, with Dogecoin (DOGE) performing woefully. For context, since reaching a yearly peak of $0.4341 on Jan. 18, DOGE has continued to witness lower highs.

Over the past ten days, Dogecoin has recorded eight ones in the red, down nearly 25% from the Jan. 18 peak. Notably, this discouraging performance has exacerbated bearish sentiments around DOGE, but analysts like Martinez believe it is not advisable to bet against the meme coin.

“How do you bet against Dogecoin,” the seasoned market watcher questioned, calling attention to its historical penchant for rapid growth within short periods of time. According to Martinez, DOGE has the potential to replicate its 2021 run, when, at a time, it soared 900% within 48 hours.

Dogecoin Rallied Nearly 900% in 48 Hours

For context, the analyst was making reference to Dogecoin’s impressive performance in January 2021, exactly four years ago. The leading meme coin rallied from an opening price of $0.00750 on Jan. 28, 2021, to a peak of $0.0736 the next day. Remarkably, this represented a surge of 881% within two days, with a 340% intraday gain on Jan. 28 alone.

Dogecoin 2021 Spike Ali Martinez
Dogecoin 2021 Spike | Ali Martinez

Interestingly, this rapid spike came on the back of a bearish consolidation phase at the time. Notably, between Jan. 3 and Jan. 27, 2021, DOGE faced bearish pressure, similar to the current market condition. The asset, which traded for $0.0106 on Jan. 3, saw persistent lower highs until it dropped to $0.0073 on Jan. 27.

At the time, bearish sentiments dominated the scene, but the sudden 881% upsurge flipped Dogecoin’s fortunes in a moment’s notice. Ali Martinez believes the meme coin could replicate this run, advising traders not to bet against it.

Market Cap Constraints?

However, critics believe this is unlikely, citing a difference between the market condition in 2021 and today. For one, Dogecoin’s market cap was about $935 million on Jan. 28, 2021, making it fairly easier to trigger a massive price spike with a relatively lower capital influx.

These critics point to the current valuation of $48.48 billion as an obstacle to such a rapid upsurge. However, Martinez, who has always argued that market cap metrics do not matter, disagreed. He posed a previous question about XRP’s larger market cap compared to BlackRock despite the latter having over $11 trillion in AUM.

Notably, while it might require more substantial capital inflow to trigger a 900% rise in Dogecoin’s price today, the prospect of rapid spikes remains feasible. Following Donald Trump’s win, DOGE rallied 159% to $0.4389 within a week, demonstrating its penchant for growth.

Meanwhile, at press time, Dogecoin currently changes hands for $0.3276, having recovered by 2.82% today. A 900% rise from this level, whether within 48 hours or 4 months, would push prices to $3.2. Analyst Scofield believes the $3 mark is possible for DOGE, arguing it is only a matter of time before it materializes.

Trump Memecoin Becomes Payment Option for Branded Stores

0

Trump-branded merchandise websites have begun accepting the official Donald Trump meme coin (TRUMP) as a payment option, adding real-world utility to the crypto asset.

Specifically, GetTrumpWatches.com, GetTrumpFragrances.com, and GetTrumpSneakers.com, which license former President Donald Trump’s brand, now allow customers to complete purchases using Trump.

Alongside traditional payment methods such as credit cards and Bitcoin, the addition of Trump provides an alternative payment option for supporters.

Trump Meme Coin Gains More Use Cases

Notably, the move addresses concerns regarding the meme coin’s primary use beyond speculation. Besides, TRUMP’s adoption aligns with broader efforts to encourage crypto transactions for online purchases.

Notably, stablecoins, which maintain value pegged to traditional currencies, have seen increased payment use. However, crypto assets with fluctuating prices, such as Trump, have struggled to gain traction as a reliable payment method.

The TRUMP meme coin launched on the Solana blockchain has around 700,000 holders. Customers purchasing from Trump-affiliated online stores can complete transactions using the “Solana Pay” option.

Beyond retail, Travala.com, a blockchain-based travel booking service, recently added TRUMP to its payment options. Specifically, it allows users to book hotels, flights, and activities worldwide with the TRUMP meme coin. The platform supports over 100 cryptocurrencies and facilitates digital currency transactions for travel bookings.

Financial Implications and Political Concerns

It is important to note that the meme coin’s adoption could generate substantial revenue for Trump-affiliated entities, raising questions about financial and ethical considerations.

Bloomberg reported that trading activity surrounding Trump has likely generated at least $11.4 million in fees for entities linked to the former president since its launch.

Furthermore, most of the coin supply remains allocated to Trump-associated entities, which will receive additional tokens over time as they unlock.

The growing use of the meme coin also brings attention to potential regulatory challenges. With Trump’s administration looking to reshape digital asset regulations, concerns have emerged over potential conflicts of interest.

Calls to Redirect Profits from TRUMP to Charity

Massachusetts Republican John Deaton, a known crypto advocate, has expressed concerns about the TRUMP meme coin. Deaton pointed out that 80% of the token’s holdings remain with insiders, warning of potential financial risks for retail investors.

Meanwhile, Deaton suggested a compromise, recommending that profits from TRUMP be directed toward hurricane and wildfire relief efforts.

While it remains unclear whether the proposal will be adopted, discussions continue regarding the ethical and financial implications of a political figure’s direct involvement in a cryptocurrency initiative.

Bitcoin Resumes Correction Ahead of FOMC, Fed Rate Decision

0

The crypto market is back in the red in what appears to be a Bitcoin-led rout ahead of crucial economic developments.

This week, the crypto market has been subject to significant turbulence, first as concerns over China’s DeepSeek spread risk-off sentiments and now as the market awaits details of the Federal Open Market Committee meeting and the Federal Reserve’s interest rate decision.

Bitcoin and the Broader Crypto Market Back in the Red

At the time of writing on Wednesday, January 29, the crypto market is back in the red in what appears to be a Bitcoin-led rout.

The leading digital asset is trading just above the $102,000 price point, down 2% from highs of nearly $104,000 on Tuesday, January 28, representing a roughly 1% decline over this time 24 hours ago.

Similarly, Ethereum, XRP, and Solana are respectively posting 3%, 0.40%, and 6% losses on the day.

The market is shedding some of the gains made in Tuesday’s DeepSeek panic recovery as traders appear to be locking in profits ahead of today’s FOMC meeting and the resulting interest rate decision.

Many hope the Fed will take a more dovish tone as the December 2024 Core Consumer Price Index and Producer Price Index came in lower than expected.

Still, the Fed is also not expected to change the current interest rate. Specifically, data from the CME FedWatch Tool suggests a 99.5% chance that the Fed will leave interest rates unchanged in the 4.25% and 4.5% range following today’s FOMC meeting.

The central bank sparked market panic with a hawkish pivot in December 2024, arguing that it may need to leave interest rates higher for longer as it expected inflation to linger.

Indeed, some experts have also expressed this sentiment in recent weeks following recent job numbers and the strength of the bond market. For instance, BlackRock’s Larry Fink has suggested that a rate hike is possible in the coming year.

Notably, beyond today’s FOMC and Fed rate decision, the market faces the European Area interest rate decision on Thursday, January 29 and the U.S. GDP release on Friday, January 30.

Ripple CEO Confirms Direct Discussions With Donald Trump on XRP as U.S. National Digital Asset Reserve

0

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse disclosed that he discussed including XRP in a U.S. national digital asset reserve with President Donald Trump.

Garlinghouse made this disclosure during his appearance on the XRP Community Day hosted on X Space yesterday. Several XRP enthusiasts who joined the X Space shared excerpts of Garlinghouse’s comments.

Speaking at the event, Garlinghouse said he spoke directly with the President of the United States about including XRP in a potential national digital asset reserve.

Notably, in recent weeks, The Crypto Basic reported several meetings between Ripple’s CEO and Trump, particularly following the U.S. election. A photo shared by Garlinghouse on his X account confirmed that he had dinner with the President after Ripple donated $5 million to support Trump’s inauguration.

Ripple CEO Dismisses Claims of Advocating Against Bitcoin

Meanwhile, Garlinghouse dismissed claims that he urged policymakers to choose XRP over Bitcoin for the national digital asset reserve. He emphasized that his engagement was to convince the U.S. President to establish a diversified digital asset reserve instead of one centered on a particular coin like XRP or Bitcoin.

Notably, Garlinghouse shared a similar sentiment earlier this week in an X post while addressing Bitcoin maxis.

For context, Bitcoin proponents accused Ripple of advocating for XRP over Bitcoin regarding the creation of a national digital asset reserve. This resulted in a heated feud over the weekend, with some Bitcoin maxis recruiting others to hate on Ripple.

Garlinghouse Pushes for Unity

In response, Garlinghouse advocated for unity within the crypto community rather than ‘tearing each other down.’ He maintained that the digital asset reserve should be diversified rather than favoring a particular coin over others.

This stance promotes a multi-asset approach, which ensures that various crypto assets, including XRP and BTC, benefit from the initiative.

In his recent speech, Garlinghouse reiterated his belief in the enormous opportunities for multiple cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin and XRP, to succeed in the crypto industry.

Trump Presidency to Impact Cryptos

Also, the Ripple CEO emphasized that Trump’s presidency could significantly impact the crypto industry. This could be in the form of pro-crypto regulation or creating a national digital asset reserve.

Trump has already taken a major step toward establishing the much-needed regulation for the crypto space. The Crypto Basic reported earlier that he had signed an executive order to create a working group for digital assets.

This group, which features heads of different federal agencies, including SEC and CFTC, is chaired by White House AI & Crypto Czar David Sacks. It will develop a regulatory framework for digital assets and evaluate the risks and opportunities of the national reserve.

Here’s How Much XRP Ripple Chairman Larsen Has Sold So Far in 2025

0

The Ripple Chairman Chris Larsen has sold XRP tokens worth about $116 million in 2025 alone after holding them for years.

This is according to on-chain data, as Larsen’s wallet appears to have gone on a distribution campaign following its first substantial sale last September. Interestingly, the selloffs come at a time when XRP is performing incredibly well after years of bearish pressure.

Data from XRPScan confirms that the chrislarsen (5) wallet, one of Larsen’s six XRP addresses, has been sending XRP tokens to two addresses since the start of the year. One of the addresses belongs to America’s largest exchange Coinbase, while the second is unknown, but the ultimate destination has been exchanges.

Details of the Chris Larsen Transfers

The first transaction from this year occurred on Jan. 6, involving the transfer of 10 million XRP to Coinbase. When this transaction occurred, XRP changed hands around the $2.4, bringing the worth of the assets to $24 million at the time.

Meanwhile, the second transaction came up on Jan. 16, ten days after the first one. The transaction saw Larsen move 20 million XRP to an unknown address. Interestingly, this second transfer occurred a few hours after XRP reclaimed the $3 psychological mark on Jan. 15 for the first time in seven years.

Specifically, during the second movement, XRP changed hands at $3.027, indicating that the 20 million XRP were worth around $60.5 million then. Notably, The Crypto Basic called attention to this transfer in a previous report, confirming that the recipient address had historically moved funds to exchanges for possible sales.

Drawing from this historical behavior, we concluded that the address was likely to route the assets to exchanges, after it first transferred out 4 million XRP. Days later, all the leftover tokens moved to exchanges for possible liquidation.

Further, six days after the second transaction, Chris Larsen moved another 10 million XRP in a third outbound flow last week. This third transaction occurred on Wednesday, Jan. 22, when XRP traded at around $3.15. This brought the worth of the tokens to $31.5 million at the time of the transaction.

The Larsen Wallet Now Holds 410M XRP

Since the Jan. 22 movement, the address has been quiet. Notably, at press time, this Larsen wallet now holds 410 million XRP, having sold off 90 million XRP since last September. However, this year alone, the address has moved a total of 40 million XRP worth $116 million.

For context, the address was gifted 500 million XRP when the XRPL went live in 2013 and it held onto these tokens until September 2024, when the Ripple co-founder decided to move 50 million XRP to an unknown address for liquidation. Now, Larsen holds 2.71 billion XRP across his six XRP wallets.

Shiba Inu Price Prediction: The Only Paths for SHIB to Reach $0.001 or $0.01

0

Shiba Inu can reach ambitious price targets like $0.001 or $0.01 if its ecosystem team can implement specific initiatives.

Several Shiba Inu investors have taken to social media to complain about SHIB’s recent performance. Data from CoinMarketCap shows that SHIB has plummeted by 5.4% since the beginning of this year.

The second-biggest meme coin has also witnessed massive declines in the 7-day and 30-day charts, plunging by 12.01% and 8.49%, respectively. Currently, Shiba Inu is trading at $0.00002008 per token, with a market cap of $11.82 billion, making SHIB the 17th biggest cryptocurrency globally.

At the current price, 682,390 addresses, representing 47.60% of all Shiba Inu addresses, are at a loss, according to IntoTheBlock’s data. While 50.2% of Shiba Inu holders (719,640 addresses) are in profit, the remaining 2.2% (31,540 addresses) are at breakeven.

Although several Shiba Inu holders are expressing their frustration with the token’s performance on social media, others are taking solace in the positive projections issued for SHIB, particularly its potential surge to the $0.001 and $0.01 targets.

Shiba Inu to $0.001 and $0.01 Targets

With Shiba Inu trading at $0.00002008, clinching the $0.001 target requires a surge of 4,880%. Hitting this target will take Shiba Inu’s market cap to $589.25 billion. Despite the monumental surge required for Shiba Inu to reach this target, several experts still think the milestone can be achieved.

In October, popular market observer Crypto Sheriff predicted that Shiba Inu has the potential to clinch the $0.001 target following the identification of a price breakout in the asset’s 4-hour timeframe.

Similarly, another crypto expert, LuckSide, noted that factors such as increased whale activity and declining retail interests are preparing SHIB for a significant rally that could take its price to $0.001.

On the other hand, reaching the highly anticipated one-cent ($0.01) dream requires SHIB to surge 49,700% from the current price. At $0.01, Shiba Inu’s market cap will stand at $5.89 trillion.

Interestingly, Luis Delgado (popularly referred to as Del Crxpto) suggested that Shiba Inu could hit the one-cent dream in its lifetime. The Shiba Inu marketing lead, Lucie, echoed the same sentiment, asserting that the $0.01 target could become a reality for SHIB someday.

Only Way Shiba Inu Can Hit $0.001 and $0.01 Targets

While Shiba Inu has witnessed significant price surges in the past, hitting the $0.001 and $0.01 targets could be challenging due to SHIB’s hefty circulating supply. Nonetheless, three major factors, such as burns, widespread adoption of Shibarium, and completion of all Shiba Inu-related projects, could drive SHIB to these price milestones.

Aggressive SHIB Burn

For Shiba Inu to rise to $0.001 or $0.01 targets, it must drastically reduce its circulating supply through aggressive burns. Currently, Shiba Inu has a circulating supply of 589.25 trillion. Incinerating a huge chunk of a token’s supply is one major way to boost its price.

Although Shiba Inu has already rolled out several burn initiatives, like Shibarium-powered burn, there is still a need to amplify these efforts so that SHIB has a chance to hit these $0.001 and $0.01 targets.

The ecosystem can introduce more community-driven burn campaigns and partnerships that support SHIB incineration.

Increased Adoption of Shibarium

Shibarium, Shiba Inu’s Layer-2 blockchain, has a major role to play in helping the $0.001 and $0.01 targets become a reality. For this to happen, Shibarium must witness significant adoption similar to what is obtainable on blockchains like Ethereum and Solana. These blockchains have attracted developers, leading to the launch of popular decentralized applications (dApps).

Shibarium, on the other hand, has lagged in adoption compared to Solana and Ethereum. This comes despite the fact that it offers cheap and fast transactions, making it the ideal blockchain for non-fungible tokens and other decentralized finance (DeFi) projects.

Therefore, the team behind the Shiba Inu ecosystem must make significant efforts to lure developers to Shibarium, potentially exposing more crypto enthusiasts to ecosystem tokens like SHIB. As more projects launch on Shibarium, the network’s transaction volume could increase, leading to more tokens being burned from SHIB’s circulating supply.

Completion of Shiba Inu Ecosystem Projects

Shiba Inu has several ambitious projects that could enhance the overall adoption of SHIB and drive its price to jaw-dropping targets like $0.001 or $0.01.

However, most of these projects, such as SHIB: The Metaverse, Shiba Eternity, and SHIB Marketplace, are not fully operational. Although some have been completed, including ShibaSwap, others are undergoing testing or are still in development.

If the team completes all projects within its ecosystem, it could attract new users who would adopt SHIB, potentially boosting its price to $0.001 or $0.01.

Even though the road to $0.001 or $0.01 could be challenging, achieving these feats is not impossible. A combination of factors like increased Shibarium adoption, massive SHIB burns, and completing all Shiba Inu ecosystem projects could enhance SHIB’s adoption and boost its price to these targets.

Here’s Dogecoin Price After ETF Approval if DOGE Gets 10% of Bitcoin ETF Inflows

0

Dogecoin price could appreciate by over ten-fold if the meme coin attracts only 10% of Bitcoin ETF inflows after securing ETF products.

Notably, in the wake of successes of Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs), leading asset managers are now exploring ETF wrappers for other crypto assets. Currently, Dogecoin is one of the top candidates for this movement, attracting considerable attention.

Asset Managers File for Dogecoin ETFs

Earlier, Wintermute predicted that a top assets management firm would file for a Dogecoin ETF this year. Recently, asset manager Bitwise registered a statutory trust for a Dogecoin ETF with Delaware’s Department of State’s Division of Corporations.

In addition, REX Advisers and Osprey Funds have jointly sought approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch an ETF encompassing various meme coins, including Dogecoin.

For context, their filing proposes seven new cryptocurrency ETFs, reflecting a broader industry trend toward diversified crypto investment products. Interestingly, analysts have argued that Dogecoin’s substantial market capitalization makes it a viable candidate for ETF offerings.

The surge in ETF filings has influenced prediction markets. On Polymarket, the probability of a Dogecoin ETF receiving approval in 2025 rose from 27% earlier in the year to 53% following these developments, before stabilizing at 50% at press time.

Dogecoin ETF Approval Odds Polymarket
Dogecoin ETF Approval Odds | Polymarket

Should such an approval occur, some analysts expect Dogecoin to enjoy similar successes as Bitcoin and Ethereum, but this remains to be seen. Regardless, a substantial amount of capital inflows into the Dogecoin market through these ETFs could have positive implications for prices.

This phenomenon occurred with Bitcoin. Notably, the token hit a new all-time high due to substantial inflows and eventually surpassed the $100,000 mark. For context, Bitcoin ETFs have captured about $39.94 billion in cumulative inflows since launch in January 2024.

Dogecoin Price if It Captures 10% of Bitcoin ETF Inflows

If Dogecoin only witnesses 10% of this success, the impact on its market capitalization could be remarkable. Notably, 10% of the cumulative Bitcoin ETF inflows amounts to $3.9 billion. Applying the Bank of America BTC inflow-to-valuation multiplier of 118x would translate to an additional market cap of $460.2 billion from these inflows.

Currently, Dogecoin boasts a market cap of $48.9 billion, making it the eighth-largest crypto asset globally. An additional $460.2 billion in valuation leads to a total market cap of $509.1 billion. Meanwhile, considering Dogecoin’s circulating supply of 147.8 billion tokens translates to a price of $3.44 per DOGE, a 9.4x increase from the current price of $0.331.

However, this valuation approach takes several variables into account that might not fall into place. As a result, it is important to note that the approval of Dogecoin ETFs might not influence similar price dynamics.

XRP: DWP Chief Investment officer Explains What Ripple’s New York Transmitter Licenses Mean for XRP

0

The new licenses procured by Ripple in New York and Texas pave the way for a broader role in U.S. cross-border payments, especially for XRP.

Matthew Snider, MBA, chief investment officer at Digital Wealth Partners, recently explained why this latest development from Ripple matters for XRP.

Ripple’s Expanding Footprint

On Monday, Ripple disclosed it had acquired Money Transmitter Licenses (MTLs) from Texas and New York regulators.

These new licenses allow Ripple to offer regulated cross-border payment services to banks in the two states. Notably, at the core of Ripple’s payment solution is leveraging XRP and its new stablecoin, RLUSD, for real-time global payments.

With these additions, Ripple’s global licensing network now includes 55 licenses worldwide, covering 33 U.S. states.

According to Snider, this expansion is a clear sign of Ripple’s increasing influence and readiness to play a larger role in the U.S. financial system. He views it as a major move toward mainstream adoption.

“Their customers are lining up for real-time global payment options,” Snider said.

Essentially, Ripple’s customers, ranging from traditional banks to crypto firms, are eager to tap into these advanced payment capabilities, potentially benefiting XRP.

Ripple’s Growth Amid Legal Challenges

Snider also stressed that, despite ongoing legal battles, Ripple continues to show impressive growth. He pointed out that the company processed $70 billion in payments across 90+ global markets last year. Moreover, he cited that the company’s payment business expanded by twofolds in 2024.

In other words, Ripple’s ability to scale and attract new customers, even in the face of regulatory uncertainty, shows the demand for its services and the robustness of its technology.

Meanwhile, speculation around the potential close of the SEC lawsuit is growing. According to Snider, the nomination of pro-crypto Paul Atkins as SEC Chair “could accelerate things,” with major implications for Ripple’s future and the U.S. crypto industry at large.

“Think About It for a Minute”

To further emphasize Ripple’s commitment to expanding its reach both within the U.S. and globally, Snider cited that the company has significantly increased its U.S.-based hiring. Specifically, he stated that 75% of its open roles are now located domestically, with domestic hiring doubling since 2023.

Moreover, he stressed that Ripple’s launch of the RLUSD stablecoin on the XRP Ledger further proves the company is not slowing down.

“Think about it for a minute…a company facing legal battles is still growing this fast. That says something about where the market’s heading,” Snider noted.

According to him, the momentum Ripple is building suggests the latest licensing success may just be the beginning of a much larger wave of crypto adoption in the U.S.

Essentially, as Ripple secures more licenses and builds out its infrastructure, XRP’s role in global financial systems could receive further boosts.

Here’s Why XRP Price is up 8% Today, Outperforming the Broader Market

0

XRP roars back from the DeepSeek sell-off to outperform the broader crypto market.

After the DeepSeek market sell-off at the start of the week, most crypto assets have shown resilience with modest bounces to pare some of the losses, but not XRP. Interestingly, the asset has roared back with sizable gains to outperform the broader market, begging the question of why.

Key Ripple Strides

XRP has surged 18.5% from Monday, January 27, lows below $2.66 to highs of $3.20. At press time, the asset has relinquished some of these gains to change hands at the $3.15 price point. This represents an 8.59% increase over the past 24 hours, more than any other asset in the top 20 by market cap.

XRP’s recent gains appear to be tied to recent significant Ripple strides. On Monday, the firm disclosed that it had obtained Money Transmitter Licenses from New York and Texas, two regions known for stringent regulatory benchmarks.

This comes amid the firm’s fresh push to expand its reach in the U.S. as the crypto regulatory outlook brightens under the Donald Trump administration.

With the license, the company can offer banks in the region its real-time global payment services, which leverage XRP Ledger rails and XRP for liquidity.

With the New York and Texas MTLs, Ripple and its subsidiaries now hold a total of 55, the firm said.

Amid XRP’s latest rally, prominent crypto analyst “EGRAG CRYPTO” has asserted that the asset is back in a short-term bull trend, citing a close above the 21-period exponential moving average. They also noted that the $3 price point was evolving into strong support as bulls have actively purchased dips below this level.

For context, fellow crypto analyst Ali Martinez on Monday disclosed that XRP whales with holdings between 100 million and 1 billion coins added another 120 million coins worth nearly $380 million.
