VeChain has brought the technological potential of blockchain to a new sector in collaboration with DNV and one of China’s most important healthcare facilities, Renji Hospital. The partners launched MyBaby, a blockchain-based service app for In-Vetro fertilization (IVF).

The app purpose is to mitigate the stress associated with IVF process by providing women and their families with a tool to help manage and improve the IVF process. The app enables hospitals to provide better data management services and can help families track their children’s progress.

In addition, the app was created to be a useful tool for reducing the anxiety, depression and stress associated with this process.

The VeChain Foundation added:

building trust and providing emotional support to tens of thousands of women and families at this difficult stage in their lives.

In China, the In-Vetro fertilization (IVF) market is projected to surpass $2.8 billion over the next 4 years. The app will position VeChain at the center of the billion-dollar growing market and play an active role in its development with the Renji Hospital Assisted Reproductive Services Center.

The facility treats nearly 400,000 patients annually, and with VeChain, the hospital will innovate to provide a more transparent and secure data protection service.

The VeChain Foundation added:

The delivered outcome is greater trust in data, enhanced healthcare provider decision-making, providing greater data security for all parties, and most importantly, lessening the emotional and physical burden of women and families involved.

On June 2, 2021, representatives from VeChain, DNV, Renji Hospital Reproductive Medicine Center and Shanghai Assisted Reproductive Technology Quality Control Center held a ceremony to celebrate the deployment of the app.

VeChain Foundation concluded:

MyBaby clearly demonstrates the value-add public blockchain can create for daily life. This new use case exemplifies the myriad ways blockchain can be utilized in society, touching aspects of life far beyond the common perception of the scope of the technology.
