This year belong to Cardano as ADA founder, and Technical core expert is always busy bringing news partnerships and developments. In a recent, Youtube video of Input Output Hong Kong (IOHK), IOHK’s Marketing Director informed about recent updates of the Cardano ecosystem along with Kevin Hammond, Nigel Hemsley and Dimitris Poulopoulos.
Updating on Alonzo White, technology manager at IOHK, Kevin Hammond said:
“The transition between Alonzo blue to Alonzo White is scheduled for the coming week as the team initiated basic network functionalities, as well as the initial distribution of ADA to stake pool operators.”
The transition from Alonzo Blue to Alonzo White will not be simple, Hammond added:
“At this stage of rolling out Alonzo, we don’t have all the core support mechanisms yet, even Plutus backend for that matter. “It can be as simple as a transaction the returns a ‘Hello world’ or confirmation of a payment that has been made. This means we have Alonzo running a smart contract.”
Delivery chief Nigel Hemsley added to the topic:
“As we move into White, we’ll do it into steps that will incorporate the release of the new release of the node and an enhanced CLI with functionality in it that enabled people to calculate the execution unit needed automatically as well other functionalities that will enable users to develop advance applications.”
Cardano Surpassed 660K Addresses
Cardano has unlocked a new milestone; ADA staking addresses have reached 663,980 at the time of writing, according to data from pooltool.io.
The decline in ADA price has seen a sharp increase in Cardano staking addresses. Investors have taken the opportunity to buy more ADA at low prices; this shows investors interest in ADA. Over the last three weeks, more than 50,000 staking addresses have joined Cardano.
Data shows that more than $30B have been staked in total, which is more than 71% of the ADA total supply. This is a sharp 9% increase in ADA staking addresses over less than a month; the previous milestone was crossing 600,000 staking addresses.
