Shiba Inu developers are taking steps to expand the project’s offerings. After much criticism for the lack of use cases, things started to change in the summer of 2021. This was due to the introduction of the ShibaSwap decentralized exchange. This new initiative allowed users to earn passive income by staking their assets.

Recently, the project has been taking on more grandiose and ambitious projects. Shiba Inu announced an upcoming layer two networks called Shibarium and a metaverse built on that layer 2.

As proof that the developers are genuinely committed to these updates, they have announced their partners in developing the Shiba Inu Metaverse. Australian game studio Playside Studios will take the brunt of development, with ex-Activision, Vice President William Wolk leading the shib gaming team.

Can Microsoft’s Activision acquisition help Shiba Inu’s cryptocurrency? There are big possibilities which will surely drive growth as new products are launched on Shiba. However, this week’s news from the Microsoft camp could be helpful for SHIB as well. As it turns out, the company is acquiring Activision in a deal worth nearly $70 billion.

Shiba Inu resident Shitoshi Kusama tweeted to SHIB holders that the news is promising for the project. Kusama says the acquisition resonates with Shiba Inu’s decision to bring in the ex Activision VP. He also said that Microsoft and the Shib share similar views about gaming. Of course, the SHIB network has its own Activision connection via William Volk.

“This acquisition echoes our last move to bring aboard former Activision VP .william_volk and hiring of PlaysideStudios to work on our game. It’s fun to see the big players share the same vision as a “meme coin” on the MV too.”

Kusama’s comments help bring the community together. Many responses to Kusama’s post-show optimism about the upcoming metaverse product. While the community is ecstatic about the connection, SHIB is making up for small losses by trading half a percentage point down.
