Popular online and mobile browser Opera has announced that its users can now enjoy Ethereum layer 2 wallets on their mobile device.
Opera said in an announcement today that the solution is as a result of integrating decentralized finance trading platform DeversiFi and the initiative is powered by StarkWare’s layer 2 solutions.
Ethereum Layer 2 comes to Opera! Our built-in wallet has been integrated with @deversifi, the @StarkWareLtd powered solution, bringing our users faster, easier, and cheaper $ETH P2P transactions.https://t.co/GMZjJqYhJi pic.twitter.com/dpbBF22hxN

Through this solution, Opera users will now be able to conduct cheap and fast transactions within the Opera for Android browser wallet.
Notably, Opera users will not be required to go through the rigorous process of providing their data before conducting transactions on DeversiFi.
Reason for Launch
With a massive interest in decentralized finance and non-fungible tokens (NFTs), the Ethereum network has been heavily congested, as fees have continued to skyrocket.
However, via the DeversiFi integration, Opera users can conduct various cryptocurrency-related transactions at the speed of light while paying an almost negligible fee.
“Integrating a Layer 2 solution through a partnership with DeversiFi makes it easier, faster and cheaper for Opera’s users to send ETH to each other in peer-to-peer (P2P) transactions, with a Layer 2 swapping feature,” excerpt of the announcement reads.
Opera’s Crypto Wallet Solution
Over the last four years, Opera has been dedicated to providing secure storage for users’ crypto assets and the browser company has launched several initiatives in support of the motive.
According to reports, Opera launched the first browser for an Android device that is accompanied by a crypto wallet and decentralized application (dApp) explorer.
The Web3 browser subsequently added support for other blockchains like Bitcoin and Celo Network, and the initiative was expanded to its iOS and web browsers.
In a similar development last month, Opera launched its Crypto Browser Project in beta, a solution designed to function as an internet browser with Web3 functionalities.
The team focuses on creating a cryptocurrency mobile wallet that can function effectively on every application that supports Opera integration.
Through this solution, Opera users will be allowed to easily switch between apps without having to constantly sign in to their wallets whenever they open new tabs.
