Bitcoin is helping the Ukrainian population more than any other organization to save them from the troubles caused by the armed conflict in their country.

Since February 24, 2022, Ukrainians have been waking up to the sound of bombs going over their heads and exploding near their homes. This aggression by the former Soviets against the neighboring country is needless and disgusting, putting the lives of millions of civilians at risk.

Unlike China, Ukrainians can use Bitcoin in their country without any concern, after the parliament defined that anyone can use it without restrictions.

We saw many people showing solidarity with the victims of the war, helping the population in every way. As the Ukrainian government is inert to the confrontation, BTC is assisting the government and those staying or fleeing from the aggressions provoked by Putin’s men.

For people with good intentions, Bitcoin appeared to be an excellent tool to receive donations from all over the world.

Many politicians agree Russia’s Ukraine could be the biggest conflict since the second world war because Putin, in his rage, is looking like Big Brother of George Orwell’s 1984 story. He sent armed forces into everal international treaties to invade the neighboring country and even tore up the Geneva Conventions rules of Fair Play.

According to the Ukrainian military service, 2,000 civilians were killed in the first week alone. Armored vehicles were recorded running over cars with civilians, entire families killed by mortars, houses destroyed by military fighter jets, and most shockingly, children’s hospitals were bombed. So-called humanitarian corridors, an opening of routes where the two armies face each other for the evacuation of civilians, and necessary supplies to the affected regions are not even working.

This eradicates the most basic right of the individual, his right to live, as people do not know if it is safer to leave the house and evacuate from the war zone, or if it is better to stay at home, on the verge of having their homes destroyed by Russian infantry.

Large organizations like NATO the UN cannot reach out to these individuals to provide them with the least amount of protection. NATO is turning a blind eye, as only imposing sanctions on Russia is comical.

Looking at the reality, it is easy to guess that many people are in a situation where it is almost impossible to help through conventional means. In addition, the country’s banking system is in shambles. Despite the Ukrainian government being able to pay its national debt, the main problems are in the daily life of the inhabitants.

Many banks are not working. The electronic payments system is down for millions of Ukrainians, and the bank shutdown has made [paper money] scarce, showing once again the fragility of a fractional reserve system. With all these problems, everything gets more complicated. The invaded country’s army cannot get financial support. People trapped in the infested cities cannot go out, not even buy food, because there is no way to make a simple transaction.

Many places were without internet, but luckily, this was circumvented thanks to Elon Musk’s Starlink.

Bitcoin is the only tool that can save people’s lives in this time of war.

If people use Bitcoin, many problems can be overturned, as daily transactions can usually occur in a simple, fast, and secure way. In addition, people who managed to take refuge in other countries could take their wealth with them by copying the seeds from their bitcoin wallets. If Laleh Farzan managed to get out of Afghanistan and get to Germany as a refugee with the seeds she took on a tiny piece of paper, so could the Ukrainians.

The anonymity that the currency can offer is also essential in war. Anyone who wants to help the Ukrainian army or people in need can do so without anyone knowing. Russians who are against the conflict could help the opposing side without having to worry about whether the government would know about it or not.

Every day more Ukrainians are using Bitcoin to make their transactions and payments. This was driven by the fact that it was legalized in the country, removing any bureaucratic impediment.

This has united all Ukrainians, whether they are workers, military, business people, civil servants, or different socio-economic groups. This can be confirmed by trying to donate to any non-governmental organization focused on helping Ukraine, which for sure is accepting Bitcoin donations.

Bitcoin is the best option for Ukrainians because due to the problem of the banking system not working, cryptos can be the only way to buy groceries in the country’s capital, Kiev. Not to mention that digital currencies are much more reliable and easier to use, as they can be donated by anyone in the world, not just those who own the government currency.

Bitcoin saves Ukrainians: This war is a big crisis for Ukraine. To give you an idea, if there are any issues with the nuclear reactor present in Ukraine, the biggest in Europe, the catastrophe could be ten times greater than what happened in Chernobyl.

The Ukraine conflict shows that operations that endanger peaceful individuals, humanity, and global civilization, are centralized. However, voluntary, independent, decentralized, and distributed coordinations manage to solve such threats.

Ukrainians have legalized Bitcoin and it is being used to save many people during this period of war due to its being decentralized and distributed in nature. Bitcoin remains synonymous with life, freedom, and salvation for people in the most challenging moments of their lives.

According to Coindesk, Ukraine has received a total of “close to $100 million” in crypto donations. Alex Bornyakov, Ukraine’s deputy minister at the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the de facto crypto spokesperson of the government said that more than $60 million of the $100 million was received in the central fund run by Kuna, the Ukrainian crypto exchange. The rest of the money has been sent to several other smaller funds, Bornyakov indicated.

The funds sent to Ukraine are reportedly being spent on non-lethal equipment, including fuel, food, and bulletproof vests for soldiers. Also, Mint report that Ukraine has spent $15 million cryptos on military gear.
