Over 10M Ethereums now staked in ETH 2.0.
The Ethereum 2.0 contract now includes over 10 million Ether. According to statistics, 8.4% of Ethereum supply is now staked in ETH 2.0.
In the early days, Ethereum was a 100% proof-of-work (PoW) blockchain, but more recently, Ethereum is now a mixture of Proof of Stack (PoS) and PoW. Over time, the ETH network will become 100% PoS.
On November 6, 2020, Vitalik Buterin, one of the creators of Ethereum, added $1.4 million worth of Ethereum to the phase 0 smart contract. Since then, the ETH 2.0 contract has grown significantly.
Today according to data from IntoTheBlock:
“Ethereum just achieved a major milestone The amount of ETH staked in the 2.0 contract has surpassed the 10 million mark.
More than 65,910 unique addresses have contributed to this achievement, which translates into 8.4% of the circulating supply staked.”

In addition, $5.4 Billion ether has been burned after EIP-1559 was implemented. With almost 2,000 new coins being removed from circulation daily according to IntoTheBlock data.
Also, a recent report from cryptocurrency on-chain metric aggregator platform IntoTheBlock (ITB) suggests that there has been a significant movement of Ethereum (ETH) from cryptocurrency exchanges to external addresses. The reports say that since February 22, 2022, Ethereum traders have transferred over 327,000 ETH from exchanges to their various external addresses.
