Metamsk looking to launch its DAO and token, NUmber of users now above 30M.
ConsenSys announced that the number of monthly active users of its MetaMask non-custodial crypto wallet exceeded 30 million.
In January @MetaMask broke 30M monthly active users accessing Web3 applications, a 42% increase in 4 months.

Over the past four months, the number of active users increased by 42% and compared to April 2021, they have increased by about 6x times.
“A global user base relies on MetaMask to mint and collect NFTs, join DAOs, and participate in DeFi protocols. The United States, the Philippines, Brazil, Germany, and Nigeria represent some of MetaMask’s most active markets,” the company said in a statement.
ConsenSys has raised $450 million in a Series D funding round, including a significant redesign of MetaMask scheduled for late 2022.
ConsenSys CEO Joseph Lubin said in a comment to Decrypt that the company intends to launch a DAO in the context of MetaMask. The organization will not manage the project but will fund the creation of new wallet elements.
“We have a great user interface that we will be launching soon; there is a DAO that is being formed right now in the context of MetaMask, It won’t govern MetaMask, but it will enable the creation of novel new pieces of MetaMask to be funded.”
The head of ConsenSys confirmed again that MetaMask would have its token. In Nov last year, the leader of ConsenSys and co-founder of the second-largest crypto, Joseph Lubin, hinted the first time that his company’s non-custodial wallet MetaMask might launch its token.
