The adoption of Ripple’s XRPL in the creation of exciting non-fungible tokens continues to surge tremendously.
Famous blockchain company Ripple has announced that Rare Air Media and VSA Partners will be developing a unique set of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on the XRP Ledger (XRPL).
The partnership will feature the development of a one-of-a-kind digital collectible covering the life stories and careers of former NBA superstar Michael Jordan.
According to the announcement today, the first set of NFTs is expected to be rolled out to the market in the second quarter of 2022 and will include a selection of rare, momentous, and original images of the NBA superstar, including his personal thoughts taken down moments before the photoshoot.
Growing Use Cases for NFTs
Following the inception of NFTs, the technology has received widespread adoption, especially among players in the entertainment and sports industry.
Popular celebrities like Snoop Dogg, LeBron James, Paris Hilton, Madonna, and Neymar Jr. have all delved into different NFT sectors, suggesting that there is no limitation to the application of the nascent asset class.
Ripple’s Commitment to Fostering Adoption
With the growing adoption of non-fungible tokens, Ripple also ventured into the space to make things easier for developers looking to launch their NFTs or get fully immersed in the metaverse.
Ripple, which launched a $250 million Creator Fund to support non-fungible tokens developers looking to build on the XRPL, recently released the list of the first beneficiaries of the funding.
Aside from the Creator Fund launched by Ripple, the blockchain company has continued to lure NFT developers to build on XRPL because of the numerous opportunities hosted on the technology.
With Ripple’s XRPL, NFT creators can take advantage of the technology’s speed, low-cost transaction, sustainability, and simplicity.
Meanwhile, last month, Ripple awarded a $100,000 grant to Feeturre music marketplace in a bid to enable the project to develop non-fungible tokens on XRPL.
