Despite the positive comments that followed Robinhood’s Vladimir Tenev’s suggestions over the weekend on making Dogecoin (DOGE) the cryptocurrency of the internet, Jack Dorsey, the CEO of Square Inc. did not feel impressed, leading to an exchange of words between them.

Dorsey responded to the long thread made by the CEO and co-founder of Robinhood on Twitter by asking if he is thirsty.

“U thirsty?” Dorsey tweeted.

However, Dorsey’s comment did not seem to go down well with Tenev, who responded almost immediately by asking the former Twitter CEO if he was insane. “U mad?,” Tenev quizzed.

Not having any plan to ignore Tenev, Dorsey proceeded to say he is not mad and that he is good since he does not use Robinhood.

Tenev concluded by suggesting that the Square boss would pay a lesser fee for Bitcoin (BTC) if he uses the popular cryptocurrency trading app, Robinhood.

Tenev’s Suggestion to Prompt Widespread Adoption of DOGE

Recall that Tenev made a long Twitter thread over the weekend, recommending the best way Dogecoin could become the currency of the people and the internet

According to the Robinhood CEO, the memecoin developers need to focus on improving the speed of sending and receiving Dogecoin transactions, by increasing the block size to at least 1 GB and subsequently boosting it to 10 GB in the near future.

Tenev also called on Dogecoin developers to further reduce the cost of DOGE transactions in order to promote the widespread adoption of the popular memecoin.

Dorsey Doesn’t Think So

The likes of Elon Musk and Dogecoin founder Shibetoshi Nakamoto expressed their support of Tenev’s suggestion mainly because of their affiliation with the cryptocurrency.

However, Dorsey, a known Bitcoin proponent, did not feel comfortable with Tenev’s call to make DOGE the currency of the internet over the world’s largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.

Dorsey has been an advocate of Bitcoin for years and has sponsored meaningful research that will foster the growth of the top asset class.

While Dorsey and Tenev were still engaging in an exchange of words, the Dogecoin pseudonymous founder called on the former to adopt DOGE.

Take the DOGE pill sometimes jack, it’s just bitcoin with a dog on it,” Shibetoshi Nakamoto said
