The inception of NFT 3.0?

Roy Liu, the co-founder of MOBLAND, stated that the upcoming weed NFTs are part of the third generation of non-fungible tokens.

The MOBLAND co-founder analyzed the various versions of non-fungible tokens, saying that NFT 1.0 involved mainly individual items and characters, 2.0 revolves around virtual real estate and land, while the third generation of NFTs will involve “business and utilities on these [plots] of land.”

“We are super pumped to pioneer with the legendary Snoop Dogg by bringing digital cannabis and mass adoption to the metaverse and GameFi 2.0. We are looking for more ways to give back to the cannabis community,” Liu added.

Notably, the NFTs will also feature exclusive content from the hip-hop star’s son ChampMedici. Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg noted that he got the inspiration to team up with MOBLAND from his son, adding:

“There is a paradigm shift happening here and I want to be at the forefront of this.”

MOBLAND is a celebrity-backed mafia-themed metaverse project backed by notable figures, including Animoca Brands and Doo Kwon (co-founder of Terra Labs), and Justin Kan (the co-founder of Twitch).

People usually refer to MOBLAND as the cryptocurrency version of Mafia Wars, a game where users play the role of gangsters.

Snoop Dogg Delves Deep Into the Crypto Space

The latest development pushes Snoop Dogg deeper into the world of cryptocurrency and non-fungible tokens.

The American rapper has already been an established player in these spaces, which stems from his numerous partnerships with related projects.

Snoop Dogg joined Justin Bieber and Drake alongside other artists to invest $87 million in crypto firm MoonPay.

As reported on Crypto Basic, the rapper also partnered with Clay Nation to launch a non-fungible token on Cardano.
