Leading non-custodial wallet Guarda has further bolstered Shiba Inu’s use in payments by adding SHIB to its prepaid Visa card list of supported assets. Shiba Inu enthusiasts can now purchase goods with SHIB across more than 60 million stores where Visa is accepted.

In a statement on December 15, Guarda called on Shiba Inu enthusiasts to top up their Guarda prepaid Visa cards with the canine-themed cryptocurrency.

It is worth noting that Shiba Inu is not the only cryptocurrency added to Guarda’s prepaid Visa card list of supported assets. Other crypto assets recently added to the list include Dogecoin (DOGE), Binance USD (BUSD), Aave (AAVE), Cosmos (ATOM), and DAI stablecoins. The company also noted that the prepaid Visa card now supports more than 20 cryptocurrencies.

Guarda Prepaid Visa Card

It bears mentioning that Guarda’s Prepaid Visa card was launched on August 14, 2022. Guarda noted that its crypto cards could be used to make payments in any store that accepts Visa.

“Guarda Wallet is thrilled to announce the release of its own prepaid Visa card. You can use this card anywhere Visa is accepted, which means you can use it for online shopping, in-store purchases, and much more,” the company noted.

The Guarda crypto card comes in two forms – physical and virtual. While users can generate the virtual card through the Guarda app, the physical card will be sent to the user’s residence.

Shiba Inu Use in Payments

Meanwhile, the development further increases SHIB’s use in payment. Recall that several crypto companies, including BitPay and Binance, have also rolled out support for Shiba Inu to enable crypto community members to make payments for goods and services using SHIB.

As reported by TheCryptoBasic, SHIB holders can use the cryptocurrency to pay for web services from top merchants, including Namecheap, HOSTKEY, and Vultr. Furthermore, businesses can pay their employees with Shiba Inu, thanks to BitPay.
