Top Lawyer Predicts New End Date for SEC Vs. Ripple Lawsuit 

Attorney Rispoli speculates that the SEC vs. Ripple’s lawsuit might end next month. 

XRP community members have been speculating about when Judge Analisa Torres will issue a summary judgment decision in the SEC vs. Ripple lawsuit. It is now more than six months since the parties made their final summary judgment submissions in December 2022. 

However, the lawsuit’s presiding judge has still not issued the much-anticipated summary judgment. 

Attorney Rispoli Gives New Prediction 

With legal experts and XRP communities anticipating the ruling, attorney Fred Rispoli has speculated a potential end date for the lawsuit. 

He arrived at the date using important stats related to Judge Torres’ summary judgment ruling pattern. 

In a tweet yesterday, attorney Rispoli noted that Judge Torres’ Motion for Summary Judgment (MSJ) grant rate for defendants stands at 37%. In contrast, Rispoli noted that the judge’s MSJ grant rate for Plaintiffs is 24%. 

According to the pro-XRP lawyer, the median duration for Judge Torres’ MSJ decision, from filing to order, is 249 days. It bears mentioning that the parties filed their respective motions for summary judgment on September 17, 2022. 

Meanwhile, attorney Rispoli noted that 60% of Judge Torres’ summary judgment decision comes within the range of 146 to 330 days. 

Consequently, 249 days from September 17, 2022 (the date SEC and Ripple filed their summary judgment motions), could see the ruling come on May 21, 2023. However, attorney Rispoli ruled out this date since it has passed, and we are already in July.  

In addition, attorney Rispoli speculated that the potential ruling date for the SEC vs. Ripple lawsuit could be on August 10, 2023. He arrived at the date by calculating 330 days (the highest period Judge Torres has waited to issue a summary judgment decision) from September 17, 2022. 

Reacting to his prediction, attorney Rispoli said he might get the best birthday present of his life on August 10, 2023. Notably, this can happen if the judge rules in favor of Ripple on August 10. 

Similarly, he stressed that August 10, 2023, could also be the day he would receive the worst birthday present.
