Prominent XRP lawyer John Deaton says he will make a big announcement on Friday if everything works out.

Crypto-Law.US founder Attorney John Deaton takes to the X platform to reveal that he will make a big announcement later this week.

If everything works out, he noted that he will have a big announcement by Friday, September 22, 2023. The lawyer representing thousands of XRP holders in the SEC v. Ripple Labs’ lawsuit clarified that the upcoming announcement has nothing to do with him suing anyone yet.

However, he did not share further details about the upcoming announcement.

XRP Fans Speculate

As expected, XRP community enthusiasts have been attempting to guess the details of Deaton’s upcoming announcement. Some XRP enthusiasts speculate that the announcement could be related to the ongoing SEC v. Ripple lawsuit, which could be heading for a possible interlocutory appeal.

The SEC intends to file an interlocutory appeal in the case, challenging the parts of the ruling it lost.

Meanwhile, there is a tendency that Attorney Deaton’s upcoming announcement could see a major guest join him on the Crypto-Law TV weekly show.

A prominent XRP YouTuber speculated Attorney Deaton may bring a whistleblower to his show.

Deaton Working to Bring Early Ethereum Adviser on His Show

Interestingly, a quick search of Deaton’s tweets suggests that the popular crypto lawyer is working to bring Steven Nerayoff, an early Ethereum adviser, as a guest on Crypto-Law TV.

For context, Nerayoff made shocking allegations surrounding the SEC’s historical engagement with Ethereum. Nerayoff’s allegations were mainly focused on Ethereum’s initial coin offering (ICO). He hinted at possible corruption at the SEC during and after Ethereum’s ICO.

According to Nerayoff, it is difficult to identify the number of buyers that participated in the ICO. This stirred speculation that some whales might be concealing their true positions in the asset class.

Nerayoff’s allegations attracted the attention of the broader crypto community, with Attorney Deaton joining the debate. In a September 17 tweet, Deaton disclosed that he contacted Nerayoff, asking him to come on Crypto-Law TV to discuss Ethereum’s Initial Coin Offering (ICO).

“I warned him, however, that unlike the SEC or Hinman, I would not give him a free pass on CryptoLaw, as I would ask him ‘tough questions’ such as the disguised whales and who must’ve made millions from it,” he added.

Attorney Deaton stressed that he assumed Nerayoff could be among the disguised whales who made millions from ETH. Hence, he “will not dance around the topic” if Nerayoff joins the Crypto-Law TV show.

Per Deaton, Nerayoff claimed he worked as an Ethereum adviser at zero cost because he believed in the project. Furthermore, the pro-XRP lawyer disclosed that Nerayoff showed him proof of his claim, including emails linked to Ethereum’s top execs.

“At some point, I hope to have him on @CryptoLawUS,” Deaton added.
