New developments emerged from the Trump family’s crypto venture, with the WLFI teasing a crypto wallet and Truth Social filing for a Bitcoin ETF.

Multiple crypto-related updates emerged from the Donald Trump family yesterday. One came with controversy, while the other further marked enthusiasm for broader exposure to the digital asset sector from the family.

World Liberty Financial to Launch Crypto-Branded Wallets

Donald Trump Jr., a Web3 Ambassador to World Liberty Financial (WLFI), revealed the project’s plans to launch a branded crypto wallet and trading application. The official wallet would allow users to trade digital assets, including the TRUMP meme coin token.

Trump Jr. made the announcement in an X post on Tuesday while debunking WLFI’s involvement in the imminent launch of a similar product.

For context, @GetTrumpMemes, the official X account of the TRUMP token, announced yesterday that it was launching a crypto wallet branded with President Trump’s pictures. The project announced that it is an easier route to buy digital assets and join the Trump community.

Interestingly, the launch featured prominent NFT marketplace Magic Eden. The Trump project announced that Magic Eden will power the wallet, with the marketplace offering up to $1 million in TRUMP token rewards for joining a waitlist for the imminent crypto wallet.

However, both Trump Jr. and Eric Trump have denied involvement with the crypto wallet, raising controversy, since the announcement came from the official Trump token X account. Nonetheless, Trump Jr. noted that WLFI would launch a similar product in the near term.

Truth Media Dabbles in Bitcoin Spot ETF

While the controversy rolled, another firm associated with President Trump announced a foray into a different crypto-related venture. The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) Acra filed for a Truth Social Bitcoin ETF on behalf of Truth Social.

The Tuesday 19b-4 filing with the US SEC is requesting a rule change to list and trade the Bitcoin spot ETF on the NYSE. Meanwhile, the form shows that the sponsor of the ETF is Yorkville American Digital, a Florida-based asset management firm.

Furthermore, a filing followed a partnership between Trump Media and Crypto.com in April to launch a series of “Made In America” ETPs. The planned offering includes Bitcoin and Crypto.com’s Cronos token, with yesterday’s filing marking the first product to be introduced since the collaboration.

Eric Balchunas, the senior ETF analyst at Bloomberg, confirmed the filing in a tweet, noting it will offer investors alternative exposure to Bitcoin and trade on the NYSE Arca. If approved, the product will become the 13th US Bitcoin spot exchange-traded fund (ETF), joining the likes of BlackRock and Fidelity.

Remarkably, this adds to the growing list of crypto ventures tied to President Trump. The WLFI had earlier moved into stablecoins, with Trump Media recently announcing a Bitcoin Treasury that would be worth an initial $2.5 billion.
