Data Shows Bitcoin Path to $100K Strengthened by 458K Addresses Holding 344K BTC

0

IntoTheBlock data shows the path for Bitcoin to $100K is supported by 458K addresses holding 344K BTC, strengthening its foundation for future growth.

The crypto market is experiencing a resurgence, with Bitcoin recovering strongly from a weekend dip. After briefly consolidating, Bitcoin rebounded from $95,000 to approach $99,000, sparking renewed optimism about its potential to surpass the $100,000 threshold.

Amid these fluctuations, data from IntoTheBlock highlights pivotal factors influencing Bitcoin’s price action. The analysis reveals that 60,000 addresses accumulated approximately 22,740 BTC above the current price of $96,192.64.

Meanwhile, significant market support exists below, with 458,000 addresses holding a combined 344,000 BTC. This clustering of strong support positions Bitcoin well for potential gains, according to the analysis. Immediate resistance at $98,490 is expected to be a temporary obstacle as Bitcoin continues its push toward the $100,000 threshold.

Chart analysis also shows strong market participation in the current price range. This is reflected by a large concentration of addresses that are either profiting or breaking even, which could help sustain Bitcoin’s bullish momentum.

Bitcoin ETFs See Record Inflows

In addition, Bitcoin spot ETFs are continuing to play a major role in fueling market momentum. November has seen nearly $7 billion in net inflows into Bitcoin ETFs, surpassing February’s record inflows of $6 billion. Since their inception, Bitcoin ETFs have only experienced one month of outflows, highlighting sustained investor interest.

Weekly reports from CoinShares add further weight to this trend. Crypto investment products recorded a historic $3.13 billion in weekly inflows, the highest on record.

U.S.-based spot Bitcoin ETFs led the surge, with BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust attracting $2.32 billion. In contrast, European markets experienced $141 million in outflows, particularly in Germany, Sweden, and Switzerland.

The demand for ETFs pushed Bitcoin to a new all-time high of $99,655, just shy of the $100,000 milestone.

Analysts noted the rapid pace of Bitcoin ETF adoption, far surpassing the early performance of U.S. gold ETFs, which attracted only $309 million in their first year.

Here’s Dogecoin Price if Bitcoin Hits $1M as Predicted by Bernstein

0

Dogecoin exhibits promising potential in a market where Bitcoin trades in the $1 million price range.

In the past few weeks, Dogecoin has effectively capitalized on Bitcoin’s momentum in the ongoing bull market. At press time, Dogecoin is trading above $0.42 following a 213% price surge over the last four weeks.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin’s value has advanced by 45% during this time, hovering around $97,000. With Bitcoin expected to crack the $100,000 mark in the coming days and potentially rise to even loftier price ranges, market participants, particularly retail investors, are increasingly taking positions in Dogecoin to benefit from the buoyant market.

One of the most ambitious price points forecasted for Bitcoin is the $1 million range, as predicted by several industry pundits, including Bernstein.

Now, The Crypto Basic examines the potential price outlook for Dogecoin if Bitcoin reaches $1 million, as widely forecasted.

Industry Forecast for Bitcoin Reaching $1M

In June, Bernstein predicted that Bitcoin could reach $1 million by 2033, with a peak of $200,000 by 2025. This prediction was part of a research report on MicroStrategy, the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin.

Similarly, financial author Robert Kiyosaki has argued that Bitcoin could reach $1 million before the end of this decade.

Notably, Bitcoin is currently trading at $97,100. Reaching $1 million would require the asset to increase by 930%, or 10-fold. At this price, Bitcoin would have a cap of approximately $20 trillion, which significantly exceeds the current valuation of gold. Essentially, at $1 million per coin, Bitcoin could become the most valuable asset in the world.

With this feat, the altcoin market stands to benefit significantly. Specifically, if Bitcoin alone reaches a market cap of $20 trillion, the altcoin market could be valued similarly, potentially pushing the overall crypto market to around $40 trillion.

Dogecoin Price if Bitcoin Hits $1M

Estimating Dogecoin’s precise value if Bitcoin reaches $1 million is challenging. However, assuming proportional price growth alongside Bitcoin’s, a 930% increase from Dogecoin’s current value of $0.4250 would raise its price to around $4.38.

While this is a rough estimation, it likely underestimates Dogecoin’s potential in a market where Bitcoin is worth $1 million.

Some market analysts believe that even a $10 price for Dogecoin is possible in the current market season, let alone by 2033, when Bitcoin is expected to reach $1 million.

Furthermore, Dogecoin has historically outperformed Bitcoin by a significant margin. For example, Bitcoin has risen by 131% in the past year, while Dogecoin has surged by 380% during the same period.

This suggests that rather than merely mirroring Bitcoin’s 930% growth to $1 million, Dogecoin could experience growth at a rate four times that, potentially bringing its price to nearly $20.

Top Analysts Say Those Planning to Sell Bitcoin at $100K Will Regret It

0

Top analysts warn that those planning to sell Bitcoin at $100K may regret it, predicting the asset will surpass this milestone and reach even higher levels.

Since Bitcoin broke the $90K level 12 days ago, it has largely remained in a holding pattern. But traders and market participants eagerly await its entry into the $100K range.

Last week, Bitcoin came within striking distance of $100K. Specifically, the asset entered the $99K range last Thursday and even rallied up to $99,600 the next day but has seen no further progress since then. BTC maintained a tight range between $97K and $99K for most of the weekend. While a dip to $95K occurred, it is back in the $98K range at press time.

In this latest Bitcoin news, Prominent market commentators, like analyst Rekt Capital, have attributed the stall to major resistance around the lofty $100K price point. He noted that Bitcoin is facing rejection at $100K, as some crypto traders believe selling Bitcoin at $100K is a good idea.

With the $100K zone seeing unprecedented interest from crypto enthusiasts and the global financial market, some investors think it is a good point to take profits and exit the market. As a result, Bitcoin keeps flirting with $100K rather than breaking into that range.

Bitcoin Sellers at $100K Will Regret Their Move

However, Rekt Capital expressed confidence that those who think selling at $100K is a good idea will not hold that belief for long. He suggested the asset will ultimately surpass the $100K mark, and those who sell now may come to regret their decision.

Other market participants share a similar view. Paolo confidently stated that sellers offloading Bitcoin at $100K will eventually tell their grandkids about the worst financial decision they ever made, much like those who sold at $1,000, $10,000, and $20,000 before them.

Other commenters, like Erwin, remarked, “$100K is a magnet and will soon be broken.”

Veteran market watchers, like Peter Brandt, have also weighed in on Bitcoin’s widespread perception around the $100,000 mark. Brandt noted that this situation reflects a form of conventional wisdom—where the majority of market participants believe Bitcoin will peak at $100,000.

However, he pointed out that when conventional wisdom becomes deeply entrenched, it often signals the opposite trend, as widely held beliefs tend to be wrong in the long run. Essentially, Brandt sees higher levels for Bitcoin beyond $100K.

$5.4B Capital Deployed into Bitcoin Ahead of $100K

Meanwhile, amid traders planning to liquidate their holdings around $100K, Bitcoin bull Michael Saylor’s MicroStrategy has just acquired 55,500 BTC tokens at an average cost of $97,862, deploying $5.4 billion to make the new acquisition. This move, as Bitcoin approaches $100K, confirms Saylor’s strong belief in even higher targets for the asset.

On-Chain Analysis Identifies Key Factor Preventing Bitcoin Breakout to $100K

0

As Bitcoin faces bearish pressure on the path to its next milestone, on-chain analysis has identified one reason behind its inability to reach the level.

In Bitcoin news today, BTC’s recent price action has been nothing short of remarkable, especially as it approached the $100,000 mark. Despite reaching a peak of $99,800 on Nov. 22, the leading cryptocurrency failed to breach the psychological milestone, correcting slightly since then.

Heavy Profit-Taking by Long-Term Holders

Several on-chain indicators and expert analyses suggest the reasons behind this resistance. A recent commentary from on-chain analyst Checkmate revealed a major factor in Bitcoin’s struggle to surpass $100,000: heavy profit-taking by long-term holders (LTHs).

Over the past 30 days, LTHs offloaded $60 billion worth of Bitcoin, marking the heaviest distribution of the cycle. This selling pressure accounted for 21% of the total LTH distribution since the market bottomed out after the FTX collapse.

Bitcoin LTH Distribution Checkonchain

The analyst stressed that such profit-taking is a natural part of Bitcoin’s market design. Adam Back, Blockstream’s co-founder and CEO, replied in agreement, pointing out that the selling activity dampens upward momentum, preventing Bitcoin from capitalizing on its current supply squeeze.

He expressed surprise at the timing, noting that such moves often occur later in bull markets rather than at the start. However, Back emphasized that this selling pressure has prevented the push above $100,000.

Bitcoin Faces Short-Term Profit-Taking

Notably, data from CryptoQuant further supports the notion that profit realization is playing a critical role in Bitcoin’s near-term resistance.

A previous analysis pointed to the Short-Term Spent Output Profit Ratio (SOPR), which measures profits taken by investors holding Bitcoin for less than 155 days. Historically, a 30-day moving average SOPR value of 1.02 signals the start of profit-taking during bullish trends.

Currently, the SOPR has reached this level, coinciding with Bitcoin’s correction from its peak. This pattern syncs with past market behavior, where short-term selling pressure resulted in temporary price pullbacks.

However, the report noted that strong capital inflows could offset this trend, potentially pushing Bitcoin beyond $100,000 despite the profit-taking headwinds.

Bitcoin’s Speculative Demand

While profit-taking remains a headwind, other metrics suggest that Bitcoin’s upward trajectory still has momentum.

According to another report on CryptoQuant today, speculative demand is on the rise, driven by FOMO, as investors anticipate a breakout above $100,000. This growing demand has led to an increase in the short-term supply of Bitcoin, further bolstering the asset’s price momentum.

The analysis pointed out that short-term holders (STHs) have not yet reached the peak selling levels observed during Bitcoin’s previous all-time high of $72,400. This suggests that while some profit-taking is occurring, there remains room for additional price growth.

At press time, Bitcoin changes hands at $97,314, down 0.34% over the past 24 hours. Despite the recent pullback, BTC still boasts a 6.24% gain in the last week, and an impressive 43.5% increase since Nov. 5.

Largest Hong Kong Virtual Bank Offers Crypto to Retail Users

0

ZA Bank has become the first Asian bank to offer cryptocurrencies to retail investors after announcing the major milestone on Monday.

In a press release, ZA Bank disclosed that Hong Kong residents can now buy and sell cryptocurrencies on its platform. The financial giant stated it was the first bank to offer such services in Asia, priding itself on being the innovative frontrunner in the region.

Hong Kong Retailers Can Now Acquire Bitcoin

Per the Monday release, residents of Hong Kong can buy Bitcoin through ZA Bank’s mobile application. The bank noted that the plot ensures that investors need not shuffle platforms or applications to access cryptocurrencies and other financial markets.

Notably, ZA Bank mentioned that users can only buy Bitcoin and Ethereum on the platform. At press time, it remains unclear if the bank will expand this offering to cover other crypto assets. Also, the country’s residents can trade the supported assets on the USD and Hong Kong Dollars (HKD) trading pairs.

The digital bank also set the minimum threshold for trading cryptocurrencies on the platform at 70 USD/600 HKD. Meanwhile, any of its over 800,000 users who activate the services enjoy 0% commission fees for the first three months.

ZA Banks Introduces Innovation Amid Growing Demand

The Asian digital bank, licensed by the HK Monetary Authority in 2019, noted in the press release that the cryptocurrency launch follows growing demand for the assets among residents.

It cited a recent report from the Hong Kong Association of Banks showing that 70% of respondents believe that banks providing access to virtual assets would ease the complications of acquiring the in-demand investment vehicles.

Notably, ZA Bank announced the launch in partnership with the crypto exchange HashKey. The exchange’s CEO, Livio Weng, noted that the collaboration aims to drive innovation among digital banking services in Asia.

Meanwhile, HashKey is one of the only three licensed exchanges in Hong Kong, gaining regulatory approval in 2022. As a result, ZA Bank’s alternate chief executive, Calvin Ng, stated that the digital bank partnered with the exchange to “meet regulatory standards” and “deliver bank-grade security” in virtual asset trading.

Digital Assets Records Historic $3.13 Billion Weekly Inflows, Driven by Bitcoin ETFs

0

Crypto investment products hit a historic milestone with $3.13 billion in weekly inflows, fueled by surging interest in Bitcoin ETFs and growing market optimism.

According to Coinsshares’ weekly report, crypto investment products achieved a record-breaking milestone last week, logging net inflows of $3.13 billion, the highest on record. This surge, fueled primarily by U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs, propelled year-to-date inflows to a record $37 billion and assets under management (AUM) to an all-time high of $153.3 billion.

U.S. Spot Bitcoin ETFs Drive the Surge

U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs led the charge, contributing $3.38 billion to the weekly inflows. BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) dominated the landscape, attracting $2.05 billion, reflecting immense institutional interest. Overall, U.S.-based funds recorded $3.2 billion in inflows, partially offset by outflows of $141 million from Europe, particularly in Germany, Sweden, and Switzerland.

Bitcoin-based funds globally accounted for the lion’s share, with $3 billion in weekly inflows. Bitcoin’s price soared to a new all-time high of $99,655, narrowly missing the $100,000 milestone, before settling at $98,459.95. Analysts noted Bitcoin ETFs have far outpaced the debut of U.S. gold ETFs, which attracted only $309 million in their first year.

Altcoins Make Waves

Altcoins also saw notable inflows, with Solana (SOL) leading at $16 million, outpacing Ethereum (ETH), which registered $2.8 million. Other strong performers included XRP ($15 million), Litecoin ($4.1 million), and Chainlink ($1.3 million).

Conversely, multi-asset products faced $10.5 million in outflows for the second consecutive week, as investors showed a preference for single-asset products like Bitcoin and Solana.

Global and Market Sentiment Trends

Global markets reflected positive sentiment, with Australia, Canada, and Hong Kong recording inflows of $9 million, $31 million, and $30 million, respectively. Short-Bitcoin products saw $10 million in inflows for the week and $58 million for the month—the highest since August 2022—indicating hedging activity.

Bitcoin’s rally boosted its market capitalization to $1.77 trillion, surpassing Spain’s GDP. Analysts predict the crypto market could soon approach $4 trillion, with debates intensifying over whether Bitcoin or altcoins will dominate the next growth phase.

Institutional Interest Fuels Growth

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) emerged as a key player, boasting $48.95 billion in net assets and cumulative inflows of $31.33 billion. Meanwhile, the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust ETF holds $21.61 billion in net assets despite experiencing $20 billion in outflows since its launch.

This unprecedented week underscores the surging institutional interest in cryptocurrency investment products, driven by the dominance of Bitcoin ETFs and rising demand for altcoins.

MicroStrategy Makes Largest Bitcoin Purchase to Date, Acquires 55,500 BTC for $5.4 Billion

0

MicroStrategy sets a new record with its largest Bitcoin purchase ever, acquiring 55,500 BTC worth $5.4 billion, reinforcing its leadership in BTC investments.

MicroStrategy, the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, has announced its most significant acquisition yet, purchasing 55,500 BTC for a total of $5.4 billion between November 18 and November 24, 2024. The average price per Bitcoin was $97,862, marking a bold move as the company solidifies its position as a leader in BTC investment.

Record-Breaking Bitcoin Holdings

With this acquisition, MicroStrategy’s total Bitcoin holdings now stand at 386,700 BTC, worth over $37 billion at current market prices. The company’s cumulative Bitcoin investments amount to $21.9 billion, with an average purchase price of $56,761 per Bitcoin.

Aggressive Capital-Raising Efforts

MicroStrategy financed the acquisition through a $3 billion debt offering, which yielded net proceeds of $2.97 billion, and the sale of 5.6 million shares for $2.46 billion during the same week. Additionally, the company has outlined plans to raise $42 billion in capital over the next three years, leveraging a mix of equity and fixed-income securities to continue its Bitcoin-focused strategy.

Impressive Growth and Stock Performance

The company’s Bitcoin-focused strategy has paid off significantly, with its stock price surging 515% in 2024. MicroStrategy briefly entered the top 100 U.S. publicly traded companies by market capitalization and is trading premarket at $436, reflecting a 3.3% increase. The Nasdaq 100 Index, set to be rebalanced on December 20, may include MicroStrategy in its rankings, given the company’s meteoric rise.

Strategic Bitcoin Yield and Debt Offering

MicroStrategy’s year-to-date Bitcoin Yield of 59.3% highlights the effectiveness of its aggressive acquisition strategy while managing share dilution. The company’s recent $3 billion convertible debt sale was completed at a 0% coupon with a 55% conversion premium, signaling strong investor confidence.

A Continuing Bitcoin Strategy

Since adopting its Bitcoin acquisition strategy in 2020, MicroStrategy has been in the spotlight for its large-scale purchases. This latest acquisition reinforces its role as a trailblazer in corporate Bitcoin investment and underscores its belief in Bitcoin as a long-term asset.

This move not only secures MicroStrategy’s dominance in the crypto market but also sets the stage for future growth as it continues to expand its Bitcoin portfolio.

Ripple Launches First Tokenized Money Market Fund on XRP Ledger

0

Ripple and Archax make history by launching the UK’s first tokenized money market fund on the XRP Ledger, revolutionizing finance with blockchain technology.

Archax, the first FCA-regulated digital asset exchange, broker, and custodian, has successfully tokenized a money market fund managed by UK asset manager abrdn on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). This milestone marks the first-ever tokenized money market fund on the XRPL, specifically part of abrdn’s £3.8 billion US Dollar Liquidity Fund (Lux).

Archax’s collaboration with Ripple played a key role in this development. Ripple demonstrated its commitment by investing $5 million into tokens tied to abrdn’s Lux fund as part of its broader focus on RWAs.

According to McKinsey, tokenized money market funds already manage over $1 billion in assets, with the broader tokenized assets market projected to reach $16 trillion by 2030. This underscores the growing demand for blockchain solutions in traditional finance.

Stakeholders highlighted the initiative’s significance. Duncan Moir of abrdn emphasized the efficiency and transparency gained by moving investment processes on-chain via the XRPL.

Markus Infanger of RippleX noted the rising traction of the on-chain economy, praising the operational efficiencies of tokenized RWAs. Graham Rodford, CEO of Archax, highlighted the importance of providing robust tokenization services for institutional clients.

Ripple’s custody solutions, which Archax has utilized since 2022, enable secure tokenization, storage, and exchange of assets, including units of the money market fund. With XRPL’s comprehensive features like tokenization, trading, and escrow, it provides a scalable foundation for institutional DeFi solutions.

This initiative represents a significant leap toward integrating blockchain technology with traditional finance, paving the way for the widespread adoption of tokenized real-world assets and transforming how financial institutions operate.

BitBoy Says One Day You’ll Wish You Bought More XRP Than XLM

0

Famous market pundit Ben Armstrong (BitBoy) has voiced the bold view that market participants favoring XLM over XRP could regret their choice later on.

Notably, XRP and its major rival Stellar (XLM) have been among the market leaders in price performance over the last three weeks. However, market commentators like BitBoy are favoring XRP over XLM despite XLM boasting a better price performance in recent times.

XLM Beats XRP in Price Action

With XRP trading at $1.50 today, the altcoin is up by 204% from its November low of $0.4937. However, its latest upsurge to the $1.6216 peak this month marked a 229% growth within three weeks.

Meanwhile, XLM had its lowest value for this month at $0.08952. As it currently trades at $0.5242, XLM boasts a more impressive three-week growth of 485%. The performance becomes even more spectacular, with a 609% gain when considering XLM’s high of $0.6342 this month.

Essentially, XLM has experienced about three times XRP’s gains. This explosive growth has propelled XLM up the rankings, moving from position 30, with a market cap of $2.65 billion, to its current position at number 13, with a valuation of $16.5 billion.

Despite XLM’s superior price action compared to XRP, XRP proponents remain unfazed. According to BitBoy, the issue with choosing XLM for a portfolio is that one day, investors may wish they had bought more XRP.

He went on to declare that XRP and the Ondo token from Ondo Finance will be the two best-performing assets of the season. However, BitBoy’s perspective did not resonate with all crypto community members.

Community Members Disagree with BitBoy

One commenter, Martyn Rogue, remarked that BitBoy’s suggestion is “bad advice,” a sentiment shared by many others. Rogue pointed out that he’s personally up 141% in profit from just XLM over the past week, and his only regret is not doubling down as he did with XRP during its rise.

Another commenter, Clark, suggested owning both XRP and XLM would be wiser rather than favoring one over the other. Clark noted that anyone who owns XRP should also hold XLM, Hedera (HBAR), and a few other assets.

Community member Ajax also highlighted that XLM has its own strengths and weaknesses. While Stellar boasts great technology and partnerships, Ajax believes that diversifying with both XLM and XRP could maximize his portfolio’s potential, which is why he holds both.

Meanwhile, prominent crypto analyst Egrag shared a strategy for navigating XRP and XLM. He recommended purchasing 25% of XLM as a reference to XRP. If there’s a retracement, sell XLM and use the profits to buy more XRP, avoiding the risk of selling XRP too early.
