Top Analyst Affirms Bitcoin is “On Track” Amid $69K Rebound

0

An analyst has argued that Bitcoin remains on track, regardless of current fluctuations, citing its cyclical patterns.

Today, Bitcoin’s price has experienced a notable uptick, rebounding since its dip over the weekend to surpass $69,000. This recent momentum coincides with discussions about Bitcoin’s cyclical nature and the growing attention on Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

Taking to X, crypto trader “Coinvo” pointed out a pattern in Bitcoin’s price action across distinct four-year cycles. These cycles have historically led to significant parabolic growth, with each cycle marked by a bottom followed by rapid price escalation.

The 2014-2017 cycle saw Bitcoin bottom at $176, followed by a surge, while the 2018-2021 cycle began at a $3,185 bottom, leading to a similar outcome. In the 2022-2025 cycle, Bitcoin’s bottom is $15,758, and the uptrend has been in progress since Q4 2023.

The analyst’s chart suggests that if historical patterns continue, another parabolic rise could be forthcoming as the cycle progresses toward 2025. Ultimately, the analyst emphasizes that Bitcoin “is on track” and that investors need patience amid the current market conditions.

Bitcoin ETF Holdings Breaking Out Before BTC Price

Alongside Bitcoin’s cyclical movement, attention has shifted to Bitcoin ETFs, where holdings are reportedly reaching higher levels ahead of Bitcoin’s price. Specifically, a post on X by Charles Edwards, founder of Capriole Investments, indicated that ETF holdings have surpassed $60 billion. Notably, the surge in ETF demand is seen as an indicator of potential upward price momentum for Bitcoin.

Further supporting this trend, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs have recently experienced their highest inflow in six months. As reported by The Crypto Basic last week, these ETFs have accumulated nearly 65,000 BTC, equivalent to $4.4 billion in new capital over the past month. Specifically, this level of investment hasn’t been seen since April, when Bitcoin’s price exceeded $72,000.

Earlier this year, the ETF market faced challenges, particularly in May, when Bitcoin’s value dipped below $56,000, leading to a decrease in holdings. However, the trend took a significant turn on September 18, spurred by a U.S. interest rate cut that reignited investor interest in crypto assets. Since then, ETF inflows have steadily increased, reversing the prior bearish sentiment.

VanEck Head of Research Identifies “Very Bullish Setup” for Bitcoin Ahead of US Election

0

With just over a week until the U.S. elections, market experts, including VanEck’s Matthew Sigel, are weighing in on Bitcoin potential trajectory.

Bitcoin reached a daily high of $69,230 today, rebounding from a bearish weekend that saw it dip to $65,000. In an interview with CNBC, Sigel, VanEck’s Head of Digital Assets Research, addressed Bitcoin’s correlation with the Nasdaq and the “Magnificent 7.” The CNBC host raised concerns about Bitcoin’s status as a safe haven, pointing out its recent alignment with risk assets.

Sigel explained that these correlations fluctuate over time. On a 10-year timeline, Bitcoin’s correlation with the Nasdaq is low, around 0.1. However, recently, it has risen to 0.5—a level some investors find concerning, as they prefer lower correlations with traditional risk assets.

A Very Bullish Setup for Bitcoin Heading into the Election

Nonetheless, Sigel emphasized that VanEck views the current setup as highly bullish for Bitcoin, drawing parallels to 2020. “Back then, Bitcoin lagged with low volatility and then rallied once the election results were confirmed,” Sigel noted.

He expects that new buyers could enter the market post-election, helping its price soar. Moreover, he suggested that if this pattern holds, a post-election U.S. sovereign debt downgrade by Moody’s could further catalyze Bitcoin’s rise.

Meanwhile, the CNBC host pressed further on whether Bitcoin correlates with the dollar and money supply growth (M2) in a similar way to gold, noting that the correlation between gold and Bitcoin seems to fluctuate.

In response, Sigel emphasized that Bitcoin is somewhat of a chameleon. Its correlations change over time, making it difficult to predict what it will be correlated within the short term.

BRICS Nations Exploring Bitcoin for Trade

The discussion shifted to Bitcoin’s fixed 21 million supply, with the host questioning whether this feature strengthens its appeal as a hedge against currency debasement. Sigel pointed out that Bitcoin is not a U.S. asset but an emerging market asset.

He noted that BRICS nations recently welcomed six new members, expanding their GDP beyond the combined GDP of the G7. Among the new members, Argentina, the UAE, and Ethiopia are incorporating Bitcoin with government resources.

“There is tremendous urgency outside of the U.S. to find a way to circumvent the irresponsible fiscal policy we’ve been pursuing here,” Sigel remarked.

He added that Russia is investing its sovereign wealth fund in regional projects to build Bitcoin mining and AI infrastructure, aiming to settle global trade in Bitcoin.

“Someday, whether in five years or ten, we’ll likely see these countries trading with Bitcoin. The question is: what will we be doing?”

Bitcoin Targets of $100,000 and $200,000 Remain Possible

When asked whether Bitcoin could hit $100,000 or even $200,000 soon, Sigel responded affirmatively. He noted that the smallest-ever trough-to-peak rally for a Bitcoin cycle was 2,000%. According to him, if the market achieves half of that, it would be a 1,000% increase, bringing the price to roughly $180,000.

As for when this could happen, he stated, “I believe after the election will be a significant catalyst.”

Bitcoin and Solana Lead as Crypto Investment Products Record $901M Inflow

0

Last week, inflows into digital investment products reached a jaw-dropping $901 million, with Bitcoin (BTC) and Solana (SOL) ranking as the top gainers.

A recent report from CoinShares suggests an increased hype in digital assets, as reflected in the inflows into crypto investment products.

According to data, these products saw a staggering inflow of $901 million last week, pushing the year-to-date (YTD) inflows to a whopping $27 billion.

The inflows recorded so far this year are nearly three times the figure recorded throughout 2021. Also, the month-to-date (MTD) investment is $3.32 billion, making October 2024 the fourth highest in terms of inflows.

Bitcoin and Solana Record Most Inflows

Notably, investment products tied to Bitcoin saw the most inflow over the past week, totaling $920 million. Following last week’s inflow, Bitcoin’s year-to-date flows stand at $25.46 billion, with a jaw-dropping $78.99 billion in assets under management (AUM) for its investment vehicles.

Solana investment products saw the second-highest inflows last week at $10.8 million. This brought the asset’s MTD and YTD flows to $17.9 million and $69.2 million, respectively. At press time, the assets under management across Solana investment products stands at $1.47 billion.

Other crypto-related investment products that witnessed inflows last week include ‘others,’ Multi-asset, Litecoin, and XRP. These digital investment products saw inflows of $2.2 million, $2.1 million, $1.8 million, and $0.2 million, respectively.

Conversely, Ethereum investment products saw record outflows of $34.7 million. As a result, the second-biggest cryptocurrency registered an MTD outflow of $12.2 million. However, this did not drastically affect Ethereum’s YTD record, as the asset has witnessed a total of $748.4 million throughout this year.

Short Bitcoin and Cardano registered slight outflows over the past week, totaling $1.3 million and $0.1 million, respectively.

Flows By Country

As expected, the United States took the lead in terms of regional flows. The country registered $906 million worth of inflows, followed by Germany, which attracted $14.7 million worth of investment. Switzerland ranked third with inflows of $9.2 million.

However, Canada, Brazil, and Hong Kong witnessed modest outflows last week, totaling $10.1 million, $3.6 million, and $2.7 million, respectively.

Potential Reason Behind Surging Inflow into Digital Investment Products

According to CoinShares, the major factor behind the surging investments into crypto asset-related investment products is likely due to political developments in the United States.

Recent polls suggest that Donald Trump has a better chance of defeating U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential election on November 5.

In particular, data from decentralized prediction platform Polymarket shows that Trump, who has continuously voiced his support for crypto, has 66.1% odds of winning the election. Conversely, his opponent, Kamala Harris, currently part of an administration known for its aggressive stance toward crypto, has 33.9% odds.

With the election slated to commence in a week and Trump leading most polls, investments into crypto products are expected to surge.

Veteran Analyst Predicts Timeline for Bitcoin to Finally Attack Its ATH

0

Michaël van de Poppe, a seasoned crypto analyst, recently predicted a timeline for Bitcoin to finally retest its all-time high price.

He disclosed this in his latest analysis which leveraged Bitcoin’s 4-hour chart. The market veteran argued that crypto’s firstborn had formed a setup for a price increase in the coming weeks, stressing it was on the cusp of breaking price thresholds that could push it toward its ATH.

Critical Bitcoin Levels

The chart reveals a bullish structure, with Bitcoin trading around $68,400 at the time of the analysis. The asset has since increased to $68,880 at press time. Recent liquidity taken at levels near $67,000 suggests that Bitcoin could be gathering momentum to surge higher.

Bitcoin 4H Chart Michael van de Poppe
Bitcoin 4H Chart | Michael van de Poppe

The presence of liquidity zones and support levels within the $64,000 to $65,000 range shows that buyers are actively defending these areas, which could provide a strong foundation for a move upward. In particular, Bitcoin appears to have “taken liquidity” in these zones.

BTC Approaches Its ATH

As Bitcoin approaches its ATH, the chart indicates some minor pullbacks, but these are healthy corrections that will pave the way for a sustained uptrend. The chart highlights major resistance zones around the $71,600 and $73,600 levels, the ATH levels.

A push toward these barriers would lead to a crack of the ATH.  Van de Poppe expects BTC to retest this area in the next two weeks. Meanwhile, the zone, representing an area for taking liquidity, could initially trigger a slight correction before Bitcoin gathers strength to overcome it.

Further data shows that van de Poppe anticipates a pullback around the $66,000 level, where another liquidity zone exists. The analyst expects this area to act as a demand zone, supporting Bitcoin’s price if it faces temporary downward pressure.

The Impact of Macroeconomic Events

Van de Poppe also considered the impact of macroeconomic events, which he believes could drive Bitcoin’s momentum. Several upcoming events may affect the cryptocurrency market.

For instance, rising bond yields have historically influenced Bitcoin prices, as investors seek alternative stores of value. If yields peak, as van de Poppe expects, it may fuel further demand for Bitcoin.

Additionally, the upcoming U.S. presidential election is generating uncertainty in the traditional markets, leading some investors to turn to cryptocurrencies as a hedge. Also, any dovish stance by the FED regarding interest rates could also enhance Bitcoin’s appeal.

Notably, legendary trader Peter Brandt previously suggested that Bitcoin remains in an inverted broadening triangle, a bearish structure, despite the recent upward push. According to the analyst, BTC would need to breach the $72K mark before it can look toward new heights.

Vitalik Buterin Responds to Ethereum Foundation’s Growing ETH Sales

0

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has defended the Ethereum Foundation’s incessant ETH sales, asking for some respect amid growing community concerns.

Buterin again responded to growing outbursts from the community about his and the Foundation’s continuous Ethereum sales.

Notably, he had clarified to users a few months ago that he was not selling Ethereum for personal gains, but enthusiasts have remained critical of the sales from him and the Foundation.

Buterin Defends the Ethereum Foundation

In response to Buterin’s X post after the announcement that Helios has become a multichain light client for Ethereum, a user told the co-founder that the largest altcoin by market cap would be fine if he stopped dumping the asset.

Buterin replied, noting he had not sold Ether in the past month. He further stated that his stash of the second-largest crypto asset has grown rather than diminished, as the enthusiast mentioned.

Notably, on-chain analysis confirms Buterin’s claims, as Arkham shows his Ethereum stash has grown by almost 1,000 ETH to 240,094 ETH, valued at $602.5 million. It bears mentioning that Ethereum accounts for 97% of Buterin’s entire on-chain portfolio.

Following the comment, another user queried Buterin about the Ethereum Foundation’s incessant sales. For context, an address tied to the Foundation sold 2,500 ETH ($6.06 million then) a few weeks back, one of its numerous transfers to external wallets and exchanges in recent times.

However, Buterin stated that the Ethereum Foundation sold the asset to cater for operation costs. He argued that the firm needs to pay developers who play a crucial role in maintaining the ecosystem and called for some appreciation and respect towards the Ethereum Foundation.

Buterin Explains Why the Ethereum Foundation Does Not Stake

The co-founder further explained why the Ethereum Foundation does not stake all its Ether. He noted that the organization does not want to be in a position they would need to choose during a contentious hard fork.

Buterin further noted that the only way the Foundation could stake Ethereum was to give its stash to other organizations to do so on its behalf.

Also, to prevent the concentration of its Ethereum on one organization, which could lead to staking centralization, Buterin noted the Foundation is looking to expand the delegation to multiple foundations.

Meanwhile, Buterin has been in founder mode recently, perpetually underscoring the Ethereum network’s possible future pathways.

Per an earlier report, the co-founder highlighted the blockchain’s milestone in its decade-long existence while revealing the next features in its roadmap to enhanced scalability and decentralization.

Shiba Inu Rival to Surge to $5, Top Expert Predicts

0

Market expert Murad has tipped Shiba Inu rival POPCAT to surge multiple times from its current price, targeting a breakout in November.

Meme coin POPCAT has been on a sustained bullish uptrend since gaining traction in March. The feline-themed token has surged in higher highs and higher lows, ticking northwards to an all-time high of $1.67 last month.

However, amid the ongoing pullback, analyst Murad has speculated that the meme coin is up for an impending surge to $5. The market speculator cited bullish macroeconomic factors and a breakout from a multi-month trendline.

Analyst Asserts a 225% Push to $5

In an X post on October 27, Murad noted that the POPCAT chart shows a “steady accumulation” price phase. Notably, POPCAT has been forming the structure since March.

Since then, POPCAT has failed to break the ascending trendline despite seven attempts, including the October surge to its latest all-time high. However, Murad speculated that the 53rd biggest cryptocurrency and 5th in the meme coin sector would break above the trendline in November.

The market expert noted that the upcoming US presidential election, which is almost a week from today, is a major catalyst for this impending surge.

Although the analyst did not state which polling outcome will propel the surge, his chart shows that he expects POPCAT to break the trendline after the November 5 elections.

POPCAT Analysis
POPCAT Analysis

Notably, the price uptick will add to what has been a flourishing year for POPCAT. For context, the meme coin launched on Solana in December 2023 and has surged over 9,405% this year, becoming a prominent member of the meme sector.

POPCAT Analysis

On-chain metrics from Coinglass indicate a reserved sentiment among traders, as POPCAT’s Long/Short stands at 0.9743. However, trading volume has increased 101.18% to $735 million, showing increased traction among traders.

Furthermore, POPCAT’s open interest has risen 3.33% in the past 24 hours to $221 million. Notably, the token’s IO is close to its all-time high of $237 million, achieved earlier in the month.

The bullish sentiments around POPCAT are evident in its 24-hour performance, as the token has surged over 6% in the timeframe. At the time of writing, the meme coin exchanges hands at $1.53.

First Neiro on Ethereum Nears Key Breakout: Will Bullish Momentum Push it to $0.0020?

With a double-bottom reversal rally, First Neiro on Ethereum prepares for a trendline breakout. Will NEIRO reach the $0.0020 mark with this breakout run?

With a market cap of $688 million, the First NEIRO on Ethereum token has increased by 9.72% in the past 24 hours. Currently, NEIRO is trading at $0.001637, reflecting a bullish recovery.

As meme coins remain polarized in the volatile market, NEIRO is standing on the verge of a breakout rally. Will this breakout run reach the $0.0020 mark this week?

First Neiro on Ethereum Eyes Trendline Breakout

In the 4-hour chart, the recovery rally is challenging a short-term resistance trendline formed during the pullback phase over the last two weeks.

First Neiro on Ethereum Price Chart
First Neiro on Ethereum Price Chart

The pullback accounts for a 41.18% downfall from its two-week-old all-time high of $0.00233194 to $0.00135542. Since the low of $0.00135542, NEIRO has increased by 20.91% in the last four days.

Furthermore, the pullback phase in the 4-hour chart has found support above $0.001420, resulting in a sideways trend. The meme coin is gaining momentum with a double-bottom reversal pattern.

The 4-hour RSI line has crossed above the 50% line, supporting the possibility of a bullish trend and showing no signs of bearish divergence. Meanwhile, the MACD and signal lines maintain a positive alignment, accompanied by a surge in positive histograms. Thus, the momentum indicators signal a buy.

Will NEIRO Hit $0.0020?

Currently, the reversal rally is challenging the overhead resistance trendline, along with the double-bottom neckline at $0.001637. The ongoing 4-hour candle shows a higher price rejection and a pullback of 0.73%, which warns of a bearish turnaround.

Using trend-based Fibonacci levels, the recovery run is also facing resistance from the 23.60% Fibonacci level at $0.00170318. While the higher price rejection limits the likelihood of a bullish breakout, a broader market recovery could help propel the NEIRO price above this threshold.

With the trend-reversal rally, the Fibonacci levels suggest a positive target at the 50% Fibonacci level near the psychological mark of $0.0020. This could complete a rounding-bottom reversal with a neckline at the 50% Fibonacci level.

However, price action traders should wait for confirmation that NEIRO will surpass the 23.60% Fibonacci level at $0.00170318.

Seasoned Analyst Says Ethereum $6K Rally Likely as Key Support at $2,400 Holds

0

Analyst Ali Martinez identifies $2,400 as a crucial support level for Ethereum, suggesting a potential rally toward $6,000 as the crypto retests this key zone.

Ethereum has been trending within an ascending channel since July 2023. Recent price action saw Ethereum moving toward the lower edge of this channel. As of October 26, the crypto retested the lower trendline of this channel.

The current price level near $2,400 serves as a significant support zone, according to analyst Ali Martinez. He stressed that a bounce from this point could set the stage for an upward movement toward the upper boundary, estimated around $6,000.

Ethereum’s Ascending Channel

The ascending channel pattern, characterized by two parallel trendlines, indicates clear resistance and support zones, guiding Ethereum’s price action. The upper boundary serves as resistance, while the lower boundary provides support. Ethereum’s approach to the lower boundary around the $2,400 level signifies an essential support retest.

In response to Martinez’s bullish sentiment about Ethereum, a commenter argued that the price could break down from the support level rather than ascend to the upper resistance. However, Martinez countered that a strong risk-to-reward ratio exists if stops are set between $2,300 and $2,150.

At press time, Ethereum is recovering from recent losses, trading at $2,507.68. This represents a 1.65% rise in the past 24 hours despite a 7.61% drop over the last week.

Reduced Selling Pressure?

Further analysis of IntoTheBlock’s data highlights on-chain metrics that suggest a bullish sentiment for Ethereum. The data indicates that 70.34% of Ethereum addresses are currently in profit, while a mere 1.74% are at break-even, and over 27% are in losses.

IntoTheBlock
IntoTheBlock

This imbalance typically reduces selling pressure since fewer holders are inclined to sell at the current price levels. With the majority of holders in profit and minimal break-even positions, market conditions appear supportive of a continuation within the ascending channel.

Elsewhere, in response to community concerns about Ethereum Foundation’s periodic ETH sales, co-founder Vitalik Buterin clarified the rationale behind these actions. According to Buterin, proceeds from the sales fund core development projects, such as reducing transaction times, lowering transaction fees through EIP-1559, and transitioning Ethereum away from Proof of Work to preserve token value.

Additionally, Buterin addressed why the Foundation avoids staking all its ETH holdings, citing the need to remain impartial during contentious hard forks. The Foundation is considering alternative approaches, such as delegating staking to third parties while maintaining ethical oversight. This strategy aims to distribute Ethereum’s legitimacy across multiple organizations, enhancing ecosystem stability.

AI Predicts Exact Date for Bitcoin to Hit New ATH

0

Analyst Dan Gambardello has highlighted a projection from OpenAI’s ChatGPT concerning the precise date Bitcoin could hit a new ATH post-U.S. election.

Bitcoin is showing signs of breaking past the $68,000 mark, maintaining a bullish trend as it edges closer to a new all-time high (ATH). Analysts have identified a pattern that aligns Bitcoin’s price trajectory with U.S. election cycles, suggesting that the crypto could rally as November 5 approaches. Specifically, a recent analysis by Dan Gambardello emphasizes this connection.

How Election Cycles Historically Drive Bitcoin Parabolic

Bitcoin’s historical performance has often coincided with U.S. election periods, creating a predictable trend. Gambardello’s analysis explores this, detailing how Bitcoin reached ATHs in previous cycles.

According to the analyst, Bitcoin surged by 194% over 115 days from the election date in 2012. Similarly, in 2016, it took 118 days for Bitcoin to climb 79%. The pattern was faster in 2020, with a 44% rise in just 41 days. This pattern suggests Bitcoin’s movements may repeat in the upcoming election period.

Gambardello leveraged AI to further support this notion. When asked, ChatGPT estimated that if Bitcoin is 8% below its ATH by November 5, it could take between 5 to 12 days to break its previous record.

Bitcoin Fractals Align with Predictions

The analysis also introduces a fractal pattern forecasting Bitcoin’s behavior in the coming weeks. According to this visualization, Bitcoin could initially rally to $72,000, followed by a slight pullback to $69,000 before surging to $78,000.

This aligns with the anticipated election-induced price increase. Notably, Gambardello’s projection incorporates potential volatility, considering the current momentum indicators, like the stochastic RSI, which indicate possible downside movements before Bitcoin rallies past its ATH. The short-term dip could form a higher low, a common precursor to new highs.

Standard Chartered Bank Predicts $125K Post-Elect

Separately, Geoff Kendrick from Standard Chartered Bank projects Bitcoin could hit $125,000 by year-end if Donald Trump secures victory in the U.S. election.

Kendrick’s analysis links Bitcoin’s price movements to trading patterns associated with Trump, leveraging daily BTC volatility and key strike levels. Additionally, his report anticipates that Bitcoin will reach approximately $73,000 by Election Day.

Hoskinson Reveals When Cardano Will Run a Nation State

0

Charles Hoskinson, CEO and founder of Input Output Global (IOG), reveals a bold future for Cardano, indicating when the project might run a nation-state.

In a keynote titled ‘After Voltaire: The Next Evolution of Cardano,’ Hoskinson predicted that the ecosystem could run a nation-state by 2030, six years from now. Notably, Hoskinson expects Cardano’s nation-state to be massive, boasting millions of users.

Cardano to Revolutionize Control of Digital Lives

According to him, Cardano’s nation-state vision is similar to the American Revolution, which fundamentally changed the world’s social contract to the rule of many instead of a few.

He emphasized that Cardano as an ecosystem can hold another revolution, enabling users to control their digital lives rather than leaving it in the hands of multi-trillion dollar companies.

Interestingly, he heaped praises on Cardano, suggesting that its community members have achieved their set goals. He stated that the ecosystem has the right people and resources to accomplish any goal.

“We also have an engine that keeps speeding and getting faster. We need to have the will to coordinate and prove that we are the ones to do this,” Hoskinson noted.

Recall that Cardano made a pivotal step toward welcoming decentralized governance following the implementation of the Chang hard fork on September 1. Notably, Cardano is expected to transition into the Voltaire era once the second controlled Chang hard fork launches.

According to the current roadmap, Cardano v10 is set for prerelease testing, with the Chang hard fork process slated to commence next month.

Hoskinson Anticipates Cardano Constitutional Convention

While Hoskinson believes the upgrade will impact the world, he highlighted the importance of Cardano’s upcoming Constitutional Convention, slated to hold in Buenos Aires, Argentina, by December 2024.

Hoskinson said the community will vote on a roadmap, setting Cardano’s priorities with a defined coalition and budget at the convention. He believes this decision-making process is crucial, as the community will collectively determine Cardano’s future.

The IOG CEO highlighted two potential paths for the network. One path involves a cautious approach, which requires the community to focus on small concerns. The other revolves around an ambitious approach, in which Cardano could be used to bring greater societal changes.
