Top Analyst Forecasts a BTC Dip to $14k, As Higher Time Frames Look Bearish

0

Bitcoin analyst sees the asset plummeting to $14k in November.

il Capo of Crypto, an accomplished swing trader, and crypto analyst, continues to weigh in on the crypto markets, warning of an imminent crash to $14,000 for the firstborn crypto following what he terms a “fake pump” to levels between $21,000 and $21,500.

il Capo has for some time released several analyses on both Bitcoin and Ethereum, warning the community of looming bearish conditions for both assets as the chilling effects of the prevailing bear market persists.

His latest take on Bitcoin’s price action conforms to previous predictions, which he appears to have stuck with despite growing market uncertainties. According to him, BTC appears bullish in the short term but bearish when considered in a higher timeframe.

“Low timeframe is bullish. High timeframe is bearish. Last fake pump to 21000-21500, 14k,” il Capo predicted in a recent tweet to his 574k+ followers, attempting to reiterate his general stance on the asset’s price direction.

The renowned swing trader believes the asset will witness another pump to the territory between $21,000 and $21,500 amidst the latest rally. Notwithstanding, he has warned his followers against relying on this pump, dubbing it “fake,” as he sees a rejection that would crash BTC to $14k – a value last witnessed in November of 2020.

BTC has always faced resistance from the bears upon visiting levels above $21k. For example, the latest rally took the asset close to the zone on October 29, surging above $20,900 before dropping below $20,600. BTC has since then been consolidating between $20,200 and $20,800 for three consecutive days.

Due to the asset’s newly-found correlation with traditional finance and macroeconomic conditions, the upcoming FOMC meeting will likely contribute to Bitcoin’s next direction from this zone, as the markets expect an interest rate hike by 75 basis points. If il Capo’s forecast is anything to go by, the asset could surge above $21k before dropping to $14k in the long term.

In a recent tweet, il Capo reiterated the prediction of a pump above $21k, noting that this would mark the last phase of the distribution. He sees an end to the recent relief rallies in the crypto markets, forecasting a crash to lower lows for BTC and all mainstream altcoins.

il Capo believes this historic turnaround will follow the U.S. Midterm Elections slated for November 8, as he dubs the reversal trend a “mega nuke” for BTC and ETH.

Meanwhile, BTC has started shedding the gains it picked up in the latest rally, having plummeted by 2.17% in the past week, as it changes hands at $20,431 at the time of reporting. While on-chain metrics generally remain favorable, sentiments have waned of late.

The BTC Binary CDD metric indicates a downward movement from long-term asset holders, with the Funding Rate showing dominance in long positions.

Nevertheless, the Fund Market Premium suggests a low buying pressure on BTC funds, including ETFs. Furthermore, as recently reported by The Crypto Basic, Cosmos Asset Management has made the difficult decision of delisting its BTC and ETH spot ETFs in Australia due to the effects of the Crypto Winter and a shortage in investor interest.

Binance Partners Ledger to Enable Its Users to Purchase Shiba Inu (SHIB) Using Fiat

0

Binance opens up a new way for its users to buy SHIB directly from their Ledger wallet.

Binance has announced a partnership with crypto hardware wallet provider Ledger to enable people to conveniently purchase Shiba Inu (SHIB) using fiat.

According to an announcement today, verified Binance users can buy SHIB through their Ledger hardware wallet using their bank cards, including Visa and Mastercard. After a successful purchase, the canine-themed cryptocurrency will be automatically transferred to the user’s Ledger address, Binance noted.

Ledger users who are yet to open a verified Binance account are advised to do so in order to use the service.

Binance also announced the development on Twitter.

The solution is currently available on the desktop version of Ledger Live, a companion application where Ledger users manage their crypto assets.

Aside from Shiba Inu, people can also use the solution to purchase more than 80 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE), etc.

“Users can now purchase more than 80 different cryptocurrencies via the Discover section of the Ledger Live desktop app using their bank cards, including Visa and Mastercard. The whole process takes just a few clicks,” Binance said in a statement.

Jean-Francois Rochet, Ledger’s VP of Transactions and Services, commented on the development, saying:

“Binance and Ledger are truly global leaders in the digital asset space, and it only makes sense to combine to provide our users with the benefits of buying crypto from Binance within Ledger Live, offering Ledger’s uncompromising world-class security.”

The announcement marks the latest Binance support for Shiba Inu. As reported by TheCryptoBasic, the exchange added Shiba Inu to the list of supported cryptocurrency assets on Binance Pay.

Market Watcher Predicts an ETH Drop to $800 Should the Asset Fail to Consolidate at $1,700

0

Prominent crypto analyst iI Capo of Crypto has forecasted a fall to the $800 level if Ethereum fails to consolidate above the $1,700 zone.

iI Capo of Crypto recently took to Twitter to predict a local bottom of $700 – $800 for Ethereum (ETH), supposing the asset flops in its journey to capture the $1,700 area. Additionally, he highlighted the fierce resistance ETH will likely face at $1,700, noting that the price point is crucial to the asset’s performance in the coming days.

“$1700s is a very important resistance zone for Ethereum. $700-800 is likely if it can’t consolidate above that resistance zone,” the accomplished crypto trader noted in a recent tweet, following a rejection faced by the asset at the $1,600 zone.

Following a month of massive underperformance, ETH started a campaign demonstrating its resilience against the bears as the markets saw the latter days of October. Ethereum dropped to points below $1,250 before staging a comeback as October closed.

The asset rode on this recent rally, as it began November on favorable grounds despite facing rejection at $1,650 on October 29. The asset has held above the $1,500 support level, but iI Capo of Crypto believes the dark days might materialize sooner than the community expects.

iI Capo’s built his latest forecast on a previous analysis he made, asserting a “hard” rejection should ETH manage to touch the $1,700 territory. The last time ETH traded above $1,700 was mid-August, when the asset nearly claimed the $2,000 area before facing a fierce rejection.

On the other hand, ETH has not revisited the $800 price point since December 2020. The lowest the asset has crashed to this year is at $900. This means iI Capo’s prediction would see Ethereum at its lowest price point in this cycle should it materialize.

Meanwhile, the recent relief rally on which several assets rode to massive highs appears to have lost its steam. Most crypto assets seem to have shed their gains in the past 24 hours, as the community anticipates reports from the upcoming FOMC.

Consequently, several analysts have forecasted an ETH dip, but not as much as iI Capo has predicted. Furthermore, a CryptoQuant analysis highlighted a monetary decrease in the use of Ethereum derivatives, indicating a pattern of position closures from investors.

Ethereum currently trades at $1,560 as of press time, with a slight decrease of 0.74% in the past 24 hours. The asset has shed 1.46% of its value in the past week. Notwithstanding, the Exchange Netflow indicator shows low net deposits on exchanges compared to the past week.

Despite the dominance of long positions in the ETH derivatives market, the U.S. Coinbase Premium Index indicates a low buying pressure on American institutional investors, as the asset records a shortage of investor interest in funds.

Ripple vs SEC: Attorney Deaton Says SEC “Will Lose” If It Continues to Argue That Every XRP Sale Is A Security

0

Deaton is confident that the SEC will lose its argument that all XRP sales are security

Attorney John Deaton, the founder of Crypto Law, said it is absurd for the Securities and Exchange Commission to argue that all XRP sales are security. Deaton, who is representing over 75,000 XRP holders in the Ripple vs. SEC lawsuit, noted that the securities regulator lacks “good faith” to put up the argument in the first place.

“I said the SEC lacks good faith to argue that each and every sale of XRP made by anyone from the beginning of time until the end of the world is a security,” attorney Deaton said in a tweet.

According to the founder of Crypto Law, the Securities and Exchange Commission will lose its case against Ripple if it continues to hold on to the argument that every XRP sale is a security.

“It’s an absurd argument that they will lose,” he concluded.

Deaton Says SEC Is Obsessed With XRP

The SEC claims that Ripple violated U.S. securities laws following its 2013 Initial Coin Offering (ICO). Attorney Deaton has always slammed the Securities and Exchange Commission for not being specific about what XRP sales constitute a security. Unfortunately, the agency insists that every XRP sale, including those conducted on secondary markets, constitutes a security.

Meanwhile, the lawsuit prompted United States-based exchanges to delist XRP as they feared that the SEC could charge them for facilitating the trading of the coin. Based on this, many XRP investors were plunged into huge losses as the price of the cryptocurrency slumped.

On Monday, attorney Deaton requested to file the much-anticipated amicus curiae brief on behalf of more than 75,000 XRP investors in the ongoing Ripple vs. SEC lawsuit.

In the amicus brief, Deaton said the SEC is obsessed with XRP to the extent that it does not care about the circumstances surrounding the offering. He added that the obsession has led the SEC to sidestep a legitimate Howey analysis.

David Gokhshtein Forecasts a Looming DOGE ATH Should Musk Integrate the Asset into Twitter

0

David Gokhshtein sees Dogecoin hitting a new all-time high should the speculated Twitter integration materialize.

Taking to Twitter, founder of Gokhshtein Media and former US Congressional candidate David Gokhshtein predicted a possible surge to a new all-time high for Dogecoin if the speculations of the asset’s integration into Twitter’s payment system are valid.

Following billionaire Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter, several cryptocurrency proponents have claimed a possible implementation of a payment system that includes Dogecoin. The billionaire’s advocacy for the meme coin has fueled these speculations.

Musk recently gave the community hints of a possible Twitter and Dogecoin partnership, causing the asset to surge to levels not seen in over five months. Gokhshtein believes this relief rally could lead to a rise above the asset’s previous ATH if the integration materializes.

“If it’s true from Elon’s hint yesterday about possible implementing $DOGE into Twitter, it easy will pass its ATH,” Gokhshtein remarked in a tweet Wednesday.

Gokhshtein highlighted that DOGE could rally to its previous ATH above $0.74 in May of last year, even when speculations of a Twitter integration were not around to fuel a massive bullish atmosphere.

Meanwhile, the rumors of Musk implementing a DOGE payment for Twitter have persisted in the past few days. As The Crypto Basic previously reported, Dogecoin influencer Matt Wallace claimed that Musk confirmed to be currently working on a DOGE payment for the bird-themed social platform.

The Tesla boss himself has neither explicitly confirmed nor denied the recent speculations. For example, when asked if he plans to implement a Dogecoin payment for Twitter, Musk chose to dodge the question by replying with the eyes emoji.

Despite his refusal to state a definite standpoint, most of Crypto Twitter have chosen to believe the billionaire is making plans to implement a Dogecoin payment. Recall that Musk’s Boring Company debuted its “Burnt Hair” perfume in mid-October, allowing payments in Dogecoin.

The seemingly constant hints from Musk have been particularly favorable to Dogecoin. Consequently, the asset started November on a kindly note, surging to $0.15 on the first day of the month amidst these speculations.

Despite facing a fierce rejection at the $0.15 level, DOGE has held up quite well above the $0.13 zone. The asset has gained by 94% in the past week, currently trading at $0.1303 as of press time. Musk implementing a Dogecoin payment for Twitter will likely contribute to the asset’s recently-engineered rally.

Ankr Adds Coinbase Wallet Support For Liquid Staking

0

Ankr is building the future of decentralized Web3 infrastructure, servicing over 50 proof-of-stake chains with an industry-leading global node delivery system and RPC aggregator. Ankr has officially added Coinbase Wallet support for liquid staking. All Coinbase Wallet users can now liquid stake on the Ankr Staking platform for an easy way to earn yield on the assets they hold in their Web3 wallet.

The Coinbase Wallet integration was one of the most highly requested features for Ankr Staking. With Coinbase Pay, users can seamlessly connect their Coinbase exchange account to the Coinbase Wallet, and then to Ankr.

To get started, users need to connect Ankr Staking to the Coinbase Wallet browser extension when prompted. On smartphones, they can do so from the Coinbase Wallet app’s dApp browser. Users can easily keep track of their staked assets from the dashboard tab of Ankr Staking or in the DeFi tab of Coinbase Wallet. Josh Neuroth, Ankr’s Head of Product, said, “Having the ability to connect a Coinbase Wallet was one of the most hotly requested features for Ankr Staking, and that’s a testament to how many people find the wallet useful for interacting with Web3 and DeFi every day. We always want to ensure our stakers are pleased while opening our earning solutions to as many new participants as possible.”

Coinbase Wallet has a built-in dApp browser on its mobile app that makes it easy to access top dApps and DeFi protocols. It allows users to send, receive, and bridge assets right on the interface, making it useful when choosing different networks to hold assets on, such as Polygon or Ethereum.

The Ankr Staking platform automatically sends the newly granted liquid staking tokens to the user’s Coinbase Wallet. These tokens deliver staking rewards as their balance increases daily. Users who are staking receive liquid staking tokens in their wallets, these tokens can also send them over to DeFi platforms to potentially expand their earnings with:

  • Liquidity mining opportunities
  • Farming rewards for Liquidity Providers
  • Staking rewards on farmed tokens
  • Automated yield farming rewards from vaults
  • Enhanced trading opportunities to exit staking any time

Coinbase Wallet has gained popularity among DeFi and Web3 enthusiasts by offering users more flexibility and features than other wallets. It offers support for Ethereum, all EVM-compatible chains, Solana, and more than 5,000 tokens for a truly multi-chain experience.

Several Crypto ETFs in Australia to be Delisted Amidst Damaging Effects of the Winter

0

Cosmos is looking to delist multiple Bitcoin, and Ether exchange-traded funds (ETFs) as the damaging effects of the Crypto Winter persist.

Amidst the effects of the cold hands of the Winter, the team behind several crypto-focused Cosmos ETFs in Australia has applied to delist some of its funds, citing unpropitious market conditions.

The ETFs submitted by Cosmos Asset Management for delisting include:

  • Cosmos Purpose Ethereum Access ETF
  • Cosmos Purpose Bitcoin Access ETF
  • Cosmos Global Digital Miners Access ETF

This is according to a Bloomberg report.

The difficult decision from the digital asset-focused investment manager was fueled by the disappointing results of its Bitcoin and Ether funds, as caused by the prevailing Crypto Winter that has battered several crypto assets to shocking lows.

The decline in cryptocurrency prices across the market has dampened the interest of investors in the asset class, leading to a shortage of investors. A surge previously influenced Cosmos’ decision to list these funds in investor interest.

“While we strongly believe in the asset class, we are all disappointed with this result, however, we will continue to follow the process in the best interest of all unit holders,” says Dan Annan, CEO of Cosmos.

Recall that Cosmos Asset Management and fellow Australian asset manager ETF Securities was one of the first companies to debut spot cryptocurrency ETFs in Australia on the Cboe Australia exchange in May. These listings, unfortunately, coincided with the Terra debacle, which pumped a wave of FUD into the cryptocurrency space shortly after.

Cosmos’s BTC and ETH ETFs have direct investments in Purpose Investments’ funds listed in Toronto. Assets on these ETFs total A$1.1M ($710,000) as of press time, with Cosmos’ miners, fund having funds with a total value of A$630,000 ($405,000).

Cosmos’ launch of the Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs in May followed the asset manager’s launch of its Cosmos Global Digital Miners Access ETF (DIGA) last year, which began trading on the Australian exchange Chi-X in October of last year.

Meanwhile, Australian investors still interested in investing in Bitcoin and Ether funds can focus their investments on the BTC and ETH funds from Global X, which remain available in Australia, among others. These funds have assets with a cumulative value of A$8.5M.

While Australia has welcomed several crypto spot ETFs recently, the U.S. has not been as favorably receptive due to the U.S. SEC’s pattern of rejecting BTC spot ETF applications. Nevertheless, 83% of crypto-focused funds remain domiciled in the American markets, per data from Bloomberg Intelligence. Europe only sees 16% of these funds.

Terra Classic Community Debates Handling Of $4M Off-Chain Assets

0

The Terra Classic community debates whether to put its trust in a team or professionals or send the newly discovered assets to the community pool.

The Terra Classic community has been locked in intense debates over how it should handle $4 million in newly discovered off-chain assets in the past week.

In a proposal five days ago, ex-Terra Rebels Quant Team Lead Alex Forshaw had revealed that Terraform Labs founder Do Kwon had made him aware of $4 million in off-chain assets that rightly belonged to the Terra Classic chain. Consequently, Forshaw proposed that the community reclaim the assets currently held in a multisig wallet and use them to fund development under the oversight of developers and the community.

Forshaw, in his proposal, nominated nine signers, including himself, to manage the wallet on behalf of the community by proposing a 12-month plan for the network, soliciting bids for executing items in this plan, evaluating bidders, and monitoring the progress of the work. In addition, he proposes that each signer be entitled to a stipend of $5,000 monthly.

It is worth noting that Forshaw’s proposal has seen fierce resistance from parts of the community, seemingly led by Vegas. Notably, like Vegas, this group prefers converting the funds to Terra Luna Classic and sending it to the community pool.

In fact, to this end, Vegas has written a counter-proposal to Forshaw’s, arguing that these funds belong to the community. According to Vegas, community members can always make proposals to request funds from the pool. In addition, he also points out that the community is already voting on Edward Kim’s grant proposal, which puts extra securities in place for community pool spending.

With the issue dividing the community, other key members are beginning to speak up in support of the proposal by Forshaw. These include some of the members Forshaw nominated as signers to the wallet.

Key Developers Respond

StrathCole, in a recent medium blog post, pointed out several shortcomings with sending the funds to the community pool. First, according to the developer, it risked causing unwanted LUNC fluctuations both in the initial transfer and in payments, as not all developers would prefer to receive payment in LUNC.

Furthermore, he highlighted the worrying fact that as much as people want to believe that the community is decentralized, it is becoming increasingly influencer controlled. Consequently, leaving funds to governance can lead to a situation where ideas favored by influencers are prioritized over bright ideas by relatively unknown people in the community. According to StrathCole, the nine nominees have the right balance of expertise to carry out the responsibility of efficiently managing the funds for the good of the community.

Meanwhile, core developer Tobias Andersen AKA Zaradar, giving his opinion in a separate medium blog post, expressed the view that a bulk of the hatred directed at the proposal by Forshaw is because it is coming from Forshaw. According to Zaradar, the view of the community towards the author is coloring the evaluation of the proposal.

Not only does Zaradar think it is beneficial for efficient governance, but the developer believes that it is also necessary that the signers be paid to incentivize them to overcome the human inclination of favoritism and maintain the highest standards.

It remains unclear to what side the community would lean at the end of the day. Still, effective use of the newly found funds could be critical to the Terra Classic chain’s progress as it has the potential to speed up development exponentially.

Notably, RexYellerBelly of TerraCVita, not among the nominated signers, has also created a series of threads yesterday arguing in support of Forshaw’s proposal.

David Gokhshtein: Dogecoin and Shiba Inu Gave People More Gains Than Bitcoin

0

Gokhshtein believes DOGE and SHIB have given people more gains than Bitcoin.

Prominent cryptocurrency influencer and founder of Gokhshtein Media, David Gokhshtein, recently stated the investment potential of the two-biggest canine-themed cryptocurrencies, Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB).

In a recent tweet, Gokhshtein noted that 50% of the crypto investors he knows had made more money investing in Dogecoin and Shiba Inu than Bitcoin (BTC).

“Half the people I know made more gains on DOGE and SHIB than BTC,” Gokhshtein said.

Gokhshtein Believes in “Diversifying”

Gokhshtein noted that while he does not have an issue with receiving Bitcoin and Ethereum, he will always diversify his position to other cryptos with the potential of bringing in more gains.

“I’ll keep collecting $BTC and $ETH — but my ass is going to continue to diversify my positions,” he said.

Gokhshtein further confirms that diversifying one’s portfolio is key to making it big in crypto.

All cryptocurrencies Gokhshtein mentioned have recorded tremendous growth from their all-time low (ATL). Bitcoin has seen its value spike from a paltry sum to an all-time high (ATH) of $69,044. However, not many people were lucky to grab BTC at lower prices.

DOGE and SHIB Turned Many into Overnight Millionaires

However, the same cannot be said for Dogecoin and Shiba Inu. The two canine-themed cryptocurrencies turned many average-income earners into overnight millionaires.

Dogecoin launched as a joke in 2013. However, what started as a joke, caught the attention of Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, whose tweets pushed the token’s price to an ATH of $0.73 in May 2021.

DOGE was trading at less than $0.01 for most of January 2021. During this period, mainstream crypto adoption had already started. Many people were opportune to take early positions in DOGE before it started its race to $0.73.

Similarly, Shiba Inu, which launched in August 2020, was not valuable at the time. On November 28, 2020, SHIB plunged to an ATL of $0.000000000056366 following the massive economic meltdown caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Shiba Inu became popular months after Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum co-founder, donated $1 billion worth of SHIB to an India COVID-19 relief fund in May 2021. The move fueled Shiba Inu’s widespread adoption, and the token surged to a high of $0.00008616.

Although both assets have slumped from their ATHs, they are expected to surpass their previous highs in the next bull cycle.

Dogecoin is tipped to become Twitter’s favorite currency following Musk’s takeover of the social media platform. The cryptocurrency has been rallying since last week. On the other hand, Shiba Inu has many projects that could drive its mainstream adoption in the coming months.

Ripple Partner Airwallex Launches Installment Payment Option For Asian Shoppers

0

Merchants can now offer a Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) payment option to shoppers in selected Asian countries.

Airwallex, a leading global fintech company, has partnered with Asian BNPL giant Atome to launch an installment payment option for its merchant customers.

Under the partnership, Airwallex merchants can offer a Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) option to shoppers in Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia.

Airwallex Supports Asian Businesses

It is noteworthy that the announcement marks Airwallex’s first partnership with a Buy Now Pay Later payment provider. Following the partnership, more shoppers will be encouraged to patronize Airwallex merchants, thus boosting the revenue of these businesses.

Before the announcement, Airwallex offered its merchants multi-currency card-based payment solutions through Mastercard, Visa, and UnionPay, across selected Southeast Asian countries and Hong Kong.

Commenting on the development, Arnold Chan, Airwallex’s Southeast Asia and Hong Kong General Manager, said the partnership is part of the company’s efforts to provide adequate support for businesses in the region, adding:

“We want to give businesses access to all the benefits of BNPL, which will not only help them increase revenues but also create a more seamless customer experience for the longer term that will enable them to unlock new market opportunities.”

Airwallex is also planning to expand its partnership with Atome to roll out the BNPL payment option in other Asian countries, including Thailand, Japan, and the Philippines.

Jeremy Wong, Atom’s Head of Strategic Partnerships, said the collaboration will help Airwallex merchants boost their conversion rates while also increasing customers’ payment choices.

“BNPL is becoming an increasingly popular payment choice among shoppers today, particularly among the fast-growing Gen Z and millennial customer segment. With this partnership, millions of customers across the region can now shop and pay through flexible deferred payments at Airwallex merchants,” Wong added.

Airwallex And Ripple Network

Launched in 2015 in Melbourne, Australia, Airwallex is a multinational fintech company that offers various financial services. Airwallex also offers cross-border transactions through a proprietary banking network.

In 2017, Airwallex joined Ripple’s enterprise blockchain network, and the company has been using RippleNet to facilitate cross-border remittances.

At the time, Ripple said its blockchain network was 100 times stronger after the company revealed that over 100 financial institutions, including Airwallex, had joined its enterprise blockchain network.
