Dogecoin Warns Against Knockoffs, Says ‘Our Rivals Come And Go, And Doge Is The Next Financial Evolution’

0

Dogecoin takes a swipe at knockoffs.

In a tweet on Friday, via the verified Dogecoin handle, Dogecoin community members were warned to steer clear of Dogecoin knockoffs as many of such projects have failed.

“There have been many tokens over the past nine years that have quickly come and gone. 1 Dogecoin = 1 Dogecoin, and there is only one Dogecoin, which is its own blockchain, and is not directly associated with any tokens. Beware of imposters,” the tweet read.

It is worth noting that the popular doggy meme token started as a joke by developers Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer in 2013, who sought to draw attention to the almost cult following of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.

However, this joke which was just a product of a few minor tweaks to the Bitcoin code in a twist both developers never expected, gained huge community traction and became a success. In recent years, the token has received support from billionaires Mark Cuban and Elon Musk, with the latter championing it as better for transactions than Bitcoin.

As a result of this success, several tokens inspired by the doggy crypto have been created. Unfortunately, however, many of them have also been scams riding on the popularity of Dogecoin to bait investors. The most recent one in this category is DogeMother, a honeypot scam that froze investor holdings, preventing them from withdrawing after purchase.

Meanwhile, there have also been other DOGE-inspired tokens that have taken the market by storm and made remarkable strides. For example, Shiba Inu came into the scene in 2021 and quickly became the most popular cryptocurrency though it continues to trail Dogecoin in market cap.

It is worth noting that the Dogecoin community has recently seen increased activity with the introduction of memes to its metaverse. Notably, a tweet today asserts that it “is the next financial evolution.” This flurry of activity has translated to record transaction numbers on the network, with daily transactions exceeding 80k for the first time in over a year.

As reported by The Crypto Basic, the meme coin has received a new core upgrade to improve its security, efficiency, and UI. At the time of writing, DOGE is trading at the $0.06905 price point, down 0.54% in the last 24 hours but up 10.53% in the last seven days.

SHIBA INU

The SHIB cryptocurrency made its announcement in the early days of august 2020 as a competition against dogecoin. Introduced by an anonymous founder Ryoshi, Shiba outperformed doge in 2021 making huge headlines. SHIB holds a current market capitalization of more than $15 billion and is also ranked at the 15th position in the crypto charts, whereas DOGE is four spots above. SHIB is developed on the Ethereum network which allows users to experience the benefit of smart contracts and decentralized finance applications.

Another great thing to know about the Shiba Inu cryptocurrency is it has a passionate team, making the currency adopted worldwide. Recent updates confirm that the cryptocurrency is working on several projects such as the NFT marketplace, DEX ShibSwap, and more. Major firms have started accepting SHIB as payment, making it more investment-worthy and popular.

DOGECOIN

Introduced in 2013 by Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer. The coin was launched as a joke about the volatility of bitcoin. The currency witnessed immense popularity in 2021 when its market capitalization reached $32 billion. Dogecoin is currently the 11th largest crypto according to its market capitalization. More to that, the network uses a proof-of-work consensus protocol in order to authenticate transaction blocks. When compared to Bitcoin, doge is less decentralized but can be a slightly better option when it comes to payment procession and fees.

The current performance of DOGE reveals that many celebrities including Elon musk are supporting the coin. The community aims to make the network a peer-to-peer payment system with over 2,000 companies accepting DOGE as payment.

WHERE TO INVEST?

  • Purpose

Initially, dogecoin was built as a joke about bitcoin’s volatility, however it gained immense popularity. The coin was created to mock the fact that people were ready to pay real money for digital utilities, however, the joke came back to the founders, and dogecoin became one of the largest cryptocurrencies.

Shiba Inu founders mentioned their currency as a “dogecoin killer” and have three important variants to function – SHIB, LEASH, and BONE. SHIB acts as a medium of exchange, LEASH token is used to provide staking rewards, while BONE has over 250 million coins.

  • Market cap

Doge holds a total of 132 billion coins, which gives them a market cap of more than $17 billion. While on the other hand, Shiba Inu’s market cap is less than doge and has approximately 549 trillion coins. A total value of $11 billion is held by Shiba Inu.

Both dogecoin and Shiba Inu are included on major crypto exchanges that allow users to access them with ease and enjoy their applications better.

SUMMARY

Both DOGE and SHIB are great performers in the crypto industry with immense gains. Each community is practicing more and more to redefine themselves and provide better to the market. Both meme coins share common aspects along with major differences in terms of market cap and usage. It is crucial to know which coin will provide more benefits and investment guarantees. When it comes to where to invest in. Shiba Inu might be a slightly better option rather than doge, the reason being the utilities and the number of projects the company is working on. However, the Ethereum network will resolve processing as well as scalability issues, making SHIB the right choice for investors. Doge, on the other hand, holds a limited utility as the P2P payment network.

Ripple to Judge Analisa Torres: SEC Delay Tactics Should Not Stall the Resolution of the Lawsuit

0

Ripple slams the SEC again for its constant delay tactics, as it begs the court to quickly resolve the issue surrounding Hinman’s documents.

Leading blockchain company, Ripple, has expressed frustration over the SEC’s continuous efforts to delay the lawsuit from reaching a logical conclusion in earnest.

Per Ripple, it had requested that the SEC provide Hinman’s documents since January 2021. However, the agency refused Ripple’s request, forcing the blockchain company to file a motion to compel the SEC to surrender the documents in August 2021.

Despite the court ordering the SEC to provide the Hinman documents, the agency has continued to raise “new conflicting arguments and motions” to ensure Hinman’s draft emails are not used as evidence in the lawsuit.

Ripple added that the issue surrounding Hinman’s document should have been concluded given that fact discovery ended 11 months ago and the parties are close to filing motions for summary judgment.

“While the SEC has the right to seek review from your honor, that process should not delay resolution of this issue any more than necessary. The issues are well distilled and should be briefed and resolved efficiently and within the rules,” Ripple concluded.

SEC Slammed for Delaying Ripple’s Lawsuit

This is not the first time the SEC has been slammed for adopting delay tactics to frustrate Ripple into a settlement in its favor.

However, Ripple is not prepared to bow to any pressure, as it is dedicated to pursue the case to a logical conclusion.

Brad Garlinghouse, Ripple CEO, recently disclosed that the blockchain company would spend up to $100 million in legal fees by the end of the lawsuit.

Garlinghouse, who has always slammed the SEC for its preferred regulatory approach against crypto, said the Securities and Exchange Commission usually bullies smaller crypto companies into a settlement because they cannot afford to fight.

However, Ripple would not bow to the SEC’s pressure and tactics as it will follow up the case until a final decision is made by the court.

If the SEC wins the lawsuit against Ripple, the agency will not stop its clampdown on cryptocurrency projects. Interestingly, a win for Ripple could prompt policymakers to force the SEC to provide clearer regulation for the nascent industry.

Ripple Objects to SEC’s Request to File Excess Briefs In Support of Its Forthcoming Opposition to Magistrate Netburn’s Ruling

0

Ripple has objected to the Securities and Exchange Commission’s request to file an excess length brief in support of its forthcoming opposition to Judge Sarah Netburn’s ruling, ordering the SEC to surrender drafts of William Hinman’s 2018 speech.

Recall that the Securities and Exchange Commission requested leave to file a 40-page brief, which will be divided into opening and reply briefs, respectively.

The SEC noted in its letter that the opening brief should be extended to 30 pages, to enable its objection to the three orders issued by Magistrate Netburn, compelling the agency to release Hinman’s documents.

On the other hand, the SEC requested that the court grant another 10-page limit, to file a reply brief to Ripple’s forthcoming opposition brief.

Ripple’s Opposition

According to Ripple, the SEC’s request should be denied because it is beyond the stipulated 20-page limit for objections to magistrate Judges’ orders.

Ripple added that there is no provision for reply briefs as demanded by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The blockchain company noted that the SEC did not state any reason why it wants to deviate from the rule in its letter to the court. Instead, the SEC’s justification for the request is that it is objecting to three of Judge Netburn’s orders in a single brief, Ripple argued.

“The SEC’s request for a reply brief is at best premature. The SEC has not even seen the Defendants’ opposition briefing yet, so it cannot possibly have concluded at this stage that there are arguments it has not had the opportunity to address. Nor has it offered any other justification for a reply,” an excerpt of Ripple’s opposition letter reads.

Ripple added that it does not lightly oppose the SEC’s request. However, Ripple considers the SEC’s latest request prejudicial and unjustified.

Meanwhile, the parties jointly request that the court set a deadline by which non-parties can move to seal portions of the Daubert motions.

Mike Novogratz Reacts to BitMEX’s CEO Mockery of Three Arrow Capital (3AC) Founders’ Interview

Novogratz: “Well said. Don’t even know where to begin….”

Mike Novogratz, the CEO of Galaxy Digital Investments, has reacted to BitMEX’s co-founder’s comments on the Three Arrow Capital (3AC) saga.

The Galaxy Digital CEO took to Twitter to commend Arthur Hayes, BitMEX co-founder, for his comment on the 3AC saga after the founders of the cryptocurrency hedge fund – Su Zhu and Kyle Davies – broke their silence in a Bloomberg interview today.

“Well said. Don’t even know where to begin…,” Novogratz said.

Hayes Slams 3AC Founders’ Interview

In a Bloomberg interview published today, Zhu and Davies spoke extensively about the collapse of their flagship cryptocurrency hedge fund, 3AC, from an unknown destination.

The duo spoke on several issues ranging from their lifestyles to what forced them to go into hiding.

After going through the Bloomberg article, Hayes highlighted several portions of the interview in a bid to mock Zhu and Davies.

Hayes started by describing the article as “amazing,” adding that he finds it difficult to know where to begin his analysis.

“Let’s dig into this beauty of an interview with Su Zhu and Kyle Davies,” Hayes said.

In a lengthy thread, he shared screenshots of some portions of the article that he found interesting while adding comments to ridicule the 3AC founders.

According to the Bloomberg article, Zhu disagreed with the perception that he enjoyed an extravagant lifestyle. Contrary to these claims, Zhu said he rode a bike daily to work.

Reacting to Zhu’s comment, Hayes said: “Common y’all. [Zhu] ain’t flashy; he rides his bike to work and to the marina where his superyacht is moored. ONLY 2 homes, brah you straight slumming it in the Kampong aka Tanglin.”

In response to Zhu’s comment that the 3AC founders were never seen in a club spending lots of money, Hayes said: “Take it back!! As someone who loves the clerb, I take offense to this,” Hayes said.

Furthermore, Hayes took shots at 3AC’s poor diligence practice for publicly stating that the company did not know that Terra ecosystem tokens were capable of falling to zero.

“Didn’t read the whitepaper tisk tisk tisk,” Hayes said.

The BitMEX co-founder also criticized Zhu for saying the 3AC collapse reminds him of the failed traditional hedge fund project, Long-Term Capital Management (LTCM).

“While this might be the crypto version of LTCM, the founders of said hedge fund never gave an interview quite like this,” Hayes added.

Finally, Hayes paraphrased a quote that has been linked to Zhu after the collapse of 3AC, “When you owe the lender 1 BTC, it’s your problem; when you owe the lender 10,000 BTC, it’s their problem.”

Meanwhile, BitMEX was also a 3AC investor. Last month, the popular cryptocurrency exchange disclosed that it liquidated its positions in 3AC.

Look To The Right (LTTR) Is Now Accepting Bitcoin Payments via BTCPay Server

0

Bitcoin has scored another adoption push as LTTR starts accepting Bitcoin payments via BTCPay Server.

It appears that Bitcoin is headed for good things as one of the most popular search engine marketers started taking Bitcoin payments via BTCPay, according to a press release. Look To The Right (LTTR) is an NC SEO company based out of Raleigh. The company claims to strive to offer top-tier search engine marketing services to its customers.

LTTR runs a web portal where clients can engage its management and seek its services. With the integration of BTCPay Server payments, the company is working hard to live up to its pledge to advocate for Bitcoin adoption. Its founder, Noah Boswell, says:

“As strong advocates for Bitcoin, we are happy to integrate a great open-source service like BTCPay on the site. We have implemented BTCPay for clients also. We love to advocate the settlement advantages to credit cards to our clients.”

To support this claim, it’s worth noting that Look To The Right is registered with the ARIN (American Registry For Internet Numbers).

Making Bitcoin Payments Easier

LTTR started accepting Bitcoin payments way back in 2016, and the latest move to integrate the website with the BTCPay Server makes for easier and faster payments on the part of the clients. The provision also comes with lower transaction fees. On this, the founder says,

“Although we have accepted BTC for payments since 2016 we are now happy to have integrated BTCPay Server to the site for easy and seamless checkout for any client to use at any time.”

The decision to integrate the LTTR site with the BTCPay Server is bound to vastly expand the channels through which the company processes its payments and make it more appealing for crypto lovers to use its services.

What Are The Gains?

Besides lowering transaction fees and facilitating a seamless payment gateway, BTCPay Server brings a few more advantages to LTTR. First off, it affirms the company’s commitment to supporting Bitcoin’s popularity and adoption as a credible means of payment. It also opens up more markets across the world for the company to explore since crypto payments via BTCPay are basically borderless, secure, and fast.

‘Into The Block’ Head of Research Says Deflation Will Set In For Ethereum After Merge

0

After the merge, according to the head of research at Into The Block, deflation will set in for Ethereum (ETH).

After the Merge, deflation is expected to begin for ETH, according to a tweet by the head of research at Into The Block, Lucas Outumuro. In addition, he said that the net issuance of ETH is anticipated to fall somewhere in the range of -0.5 percent to -4.5 percent, depending on the network costs. The following is an estimate of what it might look like based on the historical data from the year 2022.

The fact that, after the Merge, Ethereum will become a deflationary coin has also attracted the attention of the cryptocurrency community. The price of E has been on an upward trajectory, with the price rising by more than 34 percent in the past seven days. It began at $1090 and reached a local high of $1641 before dropping back down to its previous level of $1090. At the time of writing, the altcoin is worth $1,596.43, according to data provided by CoinGecko.

The significant rise in burn rates that occurred during the period of high network activity led to greater levels of competition in the market. As a result, this leads to a rise in price.

eth burn

As the Ethereum market gets ready for upcoming adjustments in the circulating supply, the price is expected to drop before the Merge. Additionally, an increased number of traders are considering selling their Ethereum holdings at the beginning of September.

At the Ethereum Community Conference that took place in Paris, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said that the Ethereum Merge is simply a portion of the overall expansion strategy. The phases that make up the Ethereum roadmap are Surge, Verge, and Splurge. The group will continue to improve the system’s scalability, efficiency, speed, and security.

As Reported By TheCryptoBasic, During the recent EthCC (Ethereum Community Conference) held in Paris, France, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin said:

“Ethereum can go up to being 55% complete after the ‘merge… At the end of this roadmap, Ethereum will be a much more scalable system. By the end, Ethereum will be able to process 100,000 transactions per second.”

Dogecoin Founder Billy Markus Now Says He Has No Idea How Much DOGE Will Be Worth In The Future

0

Dogecoin co-creator, Billy Markus, has said that he has no idea how much Dogecoin (DOGE) will be worth in the future.

Billy Markus, one of the people who created Dogecoin, has taken to Twitter to express his uncertainty about the future value of the meme coin. A screen grab of a news article from FXstreet was provided by Markus.

The statement “Dogecoin founder Billy Markus believes DOGE will never hit $0.74 again” was used as the heading for the story, which made a reference to the all-time high price of the cryptocurrency.

The co-founder of Dogecoin said that this is the reason why one should not trust the news. The context has been removed, the headlines do not correspond to the content, and “overall there are hack jobs all over.”

He went on to say that if the story was intellectually honest about the tweet, it was reporting on, the title would read as follows: “Billy Markus has no fu.king idea what dogecoin will be worth in the future and doesn’t think anyone else does either.”

Markus remarked that it is fascinating how many people detect the manipulation of things that they aren’t inclined to agree with but don’t notice when they agree with something. it’s universal. You are constantly subjected to manipulation. According to the famous cryptographer, the vast majority of your thoughts are not original to you.

However, Markus did remark that there is a potential that DOGE supporters may never see the Doge at its all-time high again last month.

At the time of this writing, the price of one Dogecoin was $0.07101, representing a rise of 12% over the course of the previous week. Dogecoin reached an all-time high of $0.7376 in May 2021, and during the course of the last 52 weeks, its price has ranged anywhere from $0.04972 to $0.351.
