Analyst Says XRP is Only Stalling Before Next Move, Predicts XRP/BTC to Hit 0.00013

0

A prominent market analyst suggests the recent XRP price struggle is only a pause before the next move against Bitcoin.

Notably, the broader crypto market has continued to witness bearish pressure amid consistent selloffs and waning sentiments. This trend has pushed XRP below the pivotal $3 mark, with the altcoin subsequently losing the support at $2.9 to trade at $2.8 at press time.

XRP’s Recent Performance Against Bitcoin

Also, XRP has faced a more bearish spell than Bitcoin, leading to a consistent collapse in the XRP/BTC pair. However, market analyst EGRAG Crypto suggests that this only represents a pause for XRP before its next breakout against Bitcoin.

The analyst shared a 1-month chart showing XRP’s current position against Bitcoin. For context, the XRP/BTC pair began August with a massive 5.93% collapse on the second day of the month, hitting a low of 0.00002440. Nonetheless, it recovered to a peak of 0.00002897 on Aug. 8 before the recent bearish spell that has dragged it to 0.00002596.

Now, XRP is down 0.54% against Bitcoin in August, but this might be a temporary bearish phase. According to EGRAG’s chart, the XRP/BTC pair is currently trading within a bull pennant that has lasted for eight months now.

XRP Forms Bull Pennant Against Bitcoin

For context, a bull pennant structure typically features an initial explosive run, which represents the flagpole, and an actual flag, which represents consolidation after the initial uptick. This formation indicates that instead of a breakdown, the asset is observing a short break before the next leg up.

With the XRP/BTC pair, the flagpole formed when XRP surged from 0.00000725 BTC in November 2024 to a high of 0.00003419 BTC by January 2025. This aligned with the XRP run from $0.5 to $3.4 within the same period.

XRP Bull Pennant Against Bitcoin EGRAG Crypto
XRP Bull Pennant Against Bitcoin | EGRAG Crypto

After this initial run, the XRP/BTC pair retraced as XRP took a breather, but XRP’s resilience ensured there was no massive crash to earlier lows, with the pair trading within a range of 0.00003288 and 0.00001928 for eight months. This price action has formed the flag itself, as XRP establishes strong support around the 0.00002 BTC mark.

Despite the recent drop, XRP still holds within the flag, awaiting the next leg up to break out. As a result, EGRAG insists that with this current bearish price action, XRP is merely “stalling before the move.” Notably, this expected move would push XRP above the upper trendline of the flag, with a break beyond the 0.786 Fibonacci retracement at 0.00002893 BTC.

XRPBTC Breakout Target

Following this move, a retracement would likely occur to retest this breakout before a full launch to greater heights. Interestingly, EGRAG has identified three lofty targets for this upward push using Fibonacci extension levels.

Specifically, the first target sits at 0.00007262 BTC, aligning with the 1.272 Fibonacci extension. At this price, XRP would trade for $7.87, considering Bitcoin’s current price of $108,500. Meanwhile, the second target lies on the Fib. 1.414 extension, aligning with 0.00009502. This translates to an XRP price of $10.3 at current BTC price levels.

For his ultimate target, EGRAG eyes the 1.618 Fibonacci extension, which would put XRP at 0.0001398 BTC. The last time the XRPBTC pair traded around this level was in January 2018, when XRP hit $3.3 as BTC changed hands at lower prices. Today, with BTC trading for $108,500, if XRP hits 0.0001398 BTC, its price would shoot up to $15.1.

Van de Poppe on VeChain: ‘A Big Breakout Is Looming, Accumulating Here Is Definitely on My Radar’

0

Prominent crypto market watcher Michaël van de Poppe has issued a bullish signal on VeChain (VET), hinting at a massive price breakout in the near future.

The analyst’s optimism comes from both fundamental developments within the project and favorable technical structures on the chart.

Notably, earlier this week, VeChain took a major step forward as the Hayabusa upgrade passed an all-stakeholder vote, potentially leading to a stronger staking and tokenomics framework. The update will reduce inflation while boosting rewards for active participants, creating a more sustainable system that could attract long-term investors.

Van de Poppe pointed to these improvements as a major reason why VeChain continues to “deliver in 2025,” stressing that the project’s fundamentals are aligning for its next growth phase.

VET Bullish Technicals

On the technical side, VET has been consolidating in the $0.024–$0.025 range after correcting more than 70% over the past six months from a high near $0.08. Van de Poppe noted that this massive retracement now offers favorable accumulation zones ahead of the next “big” rally.

The chart shows a double-bottom structure, suggesting that buyers are positioning themselves. A breakout above the immediate resistance near $0.03 could lead to a fresh expansion leg.

400% Upside Possible

Previous rallies from VeChain have topped at the 1.618 Fibonacci extension, which Van de Poppe identifies as a common technical level for profit-taking. If history repeats, the analyst is eyeing a move toward $0.12 as a potential upside target in the upcoming bullish cycle.

Van de Poppe noted that, as in previous years, a big breakout is looming, adding that “accumulating here is definitely on my radar.”

Notably, a move from VET’s current level of $0.02431 to $0.12 would represent a 400% gain for today’s investors. While significant, the token would still be trading below its all-time high of $0.2782, established over four years ago.

At present, VeChain is trading a staggering 91% below its peak. Van de Poppe often refers to this as a mispricing, especially when considering the project’s developmental progress relative to the value of its native token.

Further Details on VeChain’s Hayabusa Upgrade

Meanwhile, the recently passed Hayabusa proposal marks the next major milestone in VeChain’s evolution, following the Galactica upgrade. It introduces two critical changes for the VeChainThor network:

  • A transition from Proof of Authority (PoA) to Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS). This promotes greater decentralization and community participation.
  • A shift from static VTHO rewards to a staking-based generation model, aligning incentives and making VET a more utility-driven asset.

These changes expand participation beyond validators to all VET holders, enabling secure, compliant staking.

Notably, the proposal passed with an overwhelming 98% approval, signaling strong community support. Commentators like Van de Poppe suggest these developments are yet another reason to be bullish on VET beyond just technical improvements.

Tron (TRX) Breakout Eyes New ATH at $0.50, but Here’s What Could Invalidate the Bullish Scenario

0

Analysts believe TRX, the Tron native token, could soon push to a new all-time high, but they caution that the rally may stumble if certain conditions change.

CryptoOnChain, a verified analyst on CryptoQuant, highlighted this in a recent market report. Specifically, he pointed out that TRX continues to trade just under its historical resistance while activity on the Tron network has surged to record levels.

TRX Could Break to New ATH

For context, daily active addresses recently reached a new peak of 2.6 million, indicating strong demand and growing user participation. He explained that this level of activity shows an upward trend and highlights rising interest in the network.

According to CryptoOnChain, TRX now sits right beneath its previous peak, and this often leads to a decisive price move. He said a true breakout would only occur if Tron closes either a daily or weekly candle above its old high above $0.4 and then stabilizes there.

TRX All-Time High | CryptoQuant

If this happens, the next target would likely land between $0.48 and $0.52, which would set a new ATH above the $0.45 peak from December 2024. He added that this range matches the levels shown on the On-Chain Value Bands chart, which calculates the top end of value based on realized price.

Nonetheless, there are still risks. Specifically, CryptoOnChain stressed that the bullish setup would fall apart if TRX fails to hold above its all-time high and if daily active addresses start to decline.

In this case, the breakout would likely lose steam, and the price could turn lower. He also noted that if the altcoin season arrives, when altcoins often outperform Bitcoin, the odds of TRX reaching $0.50 increase, especially if network activity keeps climbing.

Analysts Agree TRX is in a Decisive Position

Meanwhile, other analysts have shared their own views, as TRX currently trades around $0.33. For one, Bullish Banter argued that Tron has followed what he described as a smart money playbook.

He said the breakout structure already looks confirmed, with the coin retesting support near $0.351. He set his next liquidity target at $0.37 and noted that as long as $0.3289 holds as support, the path ahead still leans higher.

Also, An Coldly, another analyst, said TRX now sits at a make-or-break level close to its all-time high at $0.45. According to him, a successful breakout would open up new price discovery, but a failed move could trigger a correction.

He also pointed out that the gap between TRX’s current price and its realized price has widened. That signals large unrealized gains and losses, which often prompt profit-taking and increase the risk of a pullback.

Tron Reduces Fees Amid Growing Network Activity

Meanwhile, the Tron network is making decisive moves amid growing user activity. Tron’s founder, Justin Sun, announced today that on August 26, 2025, the Tron Super Representative community approved a proposal to cut network fees by 60%, the biggest reduction since Tron’s launch.

The change took effect at 20:00 (GMT+8) today. Sun explained that users will see immediate benefits, though the cut will reduce short-term profitability. However, he suggested that over the long run, lower fees could drive more adoption and higher transaction volumes.

He added that the community will review fees every quarter and adjust them according to TRX’s price, network activity, and growth to keep a balance between competitiveness and sustainability.

Here’s How Much 1 XRP Could Be Worth If Bitcoin’s Market Cap Reaches $21T

0

Market participants are weighing in on the outlook for XRP as Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong boldly predicts that Bitcoin could reach a $21 trillion market cap by 2030.

Armstrong joins other industry figures like Robert Kiyosaki and Jack Dorsey in backing the forecast of $1 million per BTC by the end of the decade.

He pointed to the U.S. government’s strategic interest in Bitcoin, including an executive order to build a BTC reserve, and predicted that other G20 nations may follow suit. Armstrong believes this institutional demand will fuel Bitcoin’s rise consistently in the coming years.

As of today, Bitcoin’s market cap is $2.3 trillion—surpassing both silver and Facebook. Ethereum, Bitcoin’s closest contender, has a valuation of $570 billion, while XRP holds a market cap of $182 billion.

Meanwhile, the global crypto market is at $4 trillion, meaning Bitcoin commands over half of the total market with a dominance of 58.42%. In other words, with a $21 trillion valuation for Bitcoin alone, the global crypto market could be looking at a total valuation of approximately $36 trillion.

XRP Price If Bitcoin Hits $1 Million

In such a promising market, many are wondering about the potential position of altcoins like XRP that trail behind Bitcoin. However, it’s difficult to determine precisely what XRP’s price could be if the global crypto market hits $36 trillion.

One way to estimate is through proportional growth analysis, assuming that top crypto assets maintain their current market share into the future. Currently, XRP has a 4.6% dominance in the crypto market and is trading at $2.90.

Bitcoin would need to grow by 764% from its current level of $110,750 to reach a $1 million price and a $21 trillion valuation. If XRP grew by the same percentage, its price would rise to approximately $26.35. This would give XRP a trillion-dollar market cap, specifically, $1.566 trillion.

This scenario assumes XRP simply mirrors Bitcoin’s growth while maintaining a 4.6% market share in a $36 trillion global crypto market. Under a similar outlook, Ethereum’s market cap would rise to $5.2 trillion, given its 14.44% dominance today. This translates to a unit price of $43,350 for ETH.

Could XRP Price Be Higher?

While these price projections for XRP and Ethereum are ambitious, many market analysts believe XRP could be worth more than $26 by 2030. Some even argue it could surpass that level this year.

This is based on XRP’s historical trend of outperforming Bitcoin, rather than merely mirroring its performance. For instance, over the past year, XRP has increased by 407%, while Bitcoin rose only 88% during the same period.

This suggests XRP could see four times the growth of Bitcoin by 2030 in the journey toward a $36 trillion global crypto market. Hypothetically, this implies an XRP price above $100. Interestingly, this would place XRP’s total market cap close to $6 trillion. However, this remains speculative.

What ChatGPT Says XRP Price Will Be if Bitcoin Reaches $21T

According to ChatGPT, if Bitcoin hits $1 million by 2030, XRP could realistically trade between $20 and $35, based on maintaining or modestly increasing its current market share.

More aggressive scenarios suggest XRP could reach $35 to $68, or even enter the triple digits. However, ChatGPT stated these projections rely on extreme adoption and major systemic changes.

Factors Supporting XRP’s Growth

Factors that could support XRP’s journey to these levels, according to XRP commentators, include the potential launch of XRP ETFs. These products are expected to go live by October.

Projections suggest they could attract $5 billion in investment within four weeks of launch. A similar pattern was observed with Bitcoin ETFs, which triggered a major price surge in 2024.

Another key factor is Ripple’s expanding payments business. The company continues to partner with major banks such as BNY and has launched RLUSD, a stablecoin that uses XRP for transaction fees—creating consistent demand for the token.

Additionally, many institutional investors have begun holding XRP in their corporate treasuries. In particular, eight companies across the tech, energy, pharmaceutical, and cannabis sectors have announced XRP treasury programs totaling nearly $1 billion as of June.

These initiatives go beyond speculative investment, indicating active use of XRP in corporate finance.

Japanese Gaming Giant Gumi Plans to Invest 2.5B Yen in XRP

0

Japan-based gaming giant Gumi Inc. has announced plans to acquire 2.5 billion yen (roughly $17 million) worth of XRP as part of efforts to expand its blockchain business.

The company announced the development in a press release today, following its decision in a recent board meeting. It intends to splash 2.5 billion yen, or approximately $16.91 million, in purchasing the third-largest crypto by market cap.

Gumi plans $17M XRP purchase
Gumi plans $17M XRP purchase

Reason Behind the Planned XRP Purchase

Notably, the gaming firm will strategically accumulate XRP over a five-month period, spanning from September 2025 to February 2026. Commenting on the development, Gumi highlighted that the planned purchase is a strategic move aimed at enabling its participation in XRP’s ecosystem.

The announcement emphasized that XRP plays a crucial role in international remittances. It highlighted how its major shareholder and Ripple partner, SBI Holdings, has been promoting XRP’s adoption in the financial sector.

Given XRP’s growing real-world use cases in financial infrastructure, particularly in cross-border payments and liquidity provision, Gumi believes the token has strong potential to appreciate in value over the medium and long term. Therefore, the gaming giant intends to acquire XRP to benefit from the asset’s future price appreciation.

Gumi to Pursue Bitcoin and XRP Strategy

The announcement mentioned Gumi’s initial purchase of 1 billion yen ($6.79 million) worth of Bitcoin in the first half of the year. Following the acquisition, it staked its BTC on the Babylon staking protocol to generate revenue while positioning for a potential price surge.

Notably, Gumi confirmed plans to pursue an asset strategy focusing on Bitcoin and XRP. Through these assets, Gumi seeks to boost its revenue by supporting the growth of the XRP ecosystem, while securing steady income from its BTC staking rewards.

Remarkably, it believes Bitcoin and XRP will solidify the foundation of its blockchain-related business and help it achieve sustainable value growth.

The announcement follows a surge in institutional interest in adopting XRP as a reserve asset. Over the past few months, several firms, including Trident Digital, Webus International, and VivoPower, have announced XRP treasury initiatives as part of efforts to benefit from a potential spike in the asset’s value.

Here’s Why the US Government Chose Chainlink Over the XRP Ledger to Bring Economic Data On-Chain

0

To the dismay of many in the XRP community, the U.S. government has adopted Chainlink for its proposed blockchain integration.

The decision has left many questioning why the XRP Ledger was overlooked in such a pivotal collaboration at the highest level.

Meanwhile, a recent analysis by community member RippleXity has shed light on why the U.S. Department of Commerce may have turned to Chainlink rather than the XRP Ledger to bring macroeconomic data such as GDP and inflation on-chain.

Different Missions in Blockchain

The explanation highlights that the two networks are not in direct competition. Instead, they serve very different purposes within the blockchain ecosystem.

The XRP Ledger, created in 2012, functions as a Layer 1 blockchain focused on value transfer, liquidity, and settlement. On the other hand, Chainlink is not a blockchain but an oracle network that specializes in connecting real-world data with decentralized applications.

While the XRP Ledger facilitates efficient money movement across borders, Chainlink provides trusted data for smart contracts.

The U.S. government’s choice to work with Chainlink is due to its need for a reliable system to broadcast macroeconomic data across multiple blockchains. Chainlink’s chain-agnostic design makes it well-suited to this role.

The collaboration is not about moving value or enabling payments but about ensuring that information, such as GDP and inflation figures, can be securely and universally accessed by blockchain applications.

RippleXity stressed that this use case simply falls outside the scope of the XRP Ledger. The ledger excels at instant settlement, tokenization, and low-cost cross-border payments. However, it is not designed to serve as a data oracle.

XRP Ledger and Chainlink Play Complementary Roles

Far from being a setback for Ripple or the XRP Ledger, RippleXity argues that the partnership between the U.S. government and Chainlink actually reinforces Ripple’s vision.

Chainlink handles the data layer, while the XRP Ledger provides the liquidity layer. Together, they represent essential components of the financial infrastructure needed for mass blockchain adoption.

Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin already integrates Chainlink’s data standards following a partnership between Ripple and Chainlink in January. This shows that the two projects are not rivals but rather parts of the same growing ecosystem.

The move highlights how the broader financial stack is coming together, with different technologies filling specific but complementary roles.

Interoperability is Essential for Mass Adoption: Ripple CTO

As Ripple CTO David Schwartz has often emphasized, interoperability will be crucial for the future of blockchain adoption. By delivering data, Chainlink plays a role that supports the systems Ripple is building for payments and liquidity.

According to RippleXity, the U.S. government’s decision is not a rejection of the XRP Ledger. Instead, it is a sign that the blockchain space is maturing into a layered infrastructure, where different players solve different problems while working toward the same goal of a more connected global financial system.

Bitcoin Now Seeing the Same Divergence That Marked the End of 2021 Bull Run

0

The recent Bitcoin retracement may transcend a temporary market correction, as a top market analyst suggests early signs of a bull cycle top.

The rally to $113,510 on Thursday may just be another relief rally, as Bitcoin has relinquished all its gains today. The pioneering cryptocurrency has corrected 3.2% since the start of Friday, sparking a broader market retracement.

Meanwhile, the dump seemed to stun bulls, as over $202 million was liquidated in the past four hours, with $351 million of that coming from long positions. The tally took the 24-hour figure to $411 million, with Ethereum leading the way.

Bitcoin Dump Beyond a Short-Term Correction?

While many remain optimistic about a market rebound, Ali Martinez has highlighted a concerning development on BTC’s higher-timeframe chart. In a recent X commentary, he identified a bearish divergence similar to the one that marked the Bitcoin’s top in the previous cycle.

Martinez noted that the price of Bitcoin is making higher highs, while its relative strength index (RSI) sees lower highs in the weekly chart. Remarkably, such development usually precedes a substantial market downside, and the analyst suggests it could mark more than a mere retracement.

Specifically, he noted that Bitcoin saw the same divergence before the 2021 bull market top. For context, BTC reached a top of $64,898 in April 2021, then retraced massively to around $28,000. Again, it formed another higher high, reaching its 2021 peak of $69,000 in November of that year.

Bitcoin Bearish Divergence/Ali Martinez
Bitcoin Bearish Divergence/Ali Martinez

While this happened, the RSI was making lower lows. After the November peak, BTC crashed, reaching a bottom of $15,500 in November 2022.

Bitcoin has recently experienced a similar development, with its January peak of $109,354 and August ATH of $124,457, marking higher high formations. If history repeats, Martinez suggests this could be a sign of an early bull market top.

Mere Coincidence?

Interestingly, Bitcoin has a history of responding positively to bearish speculation. An instance occurred when veteran trader Peter Barndt highlighted a possible recurring double top pattern formation in June, which he noted would likely lead to a 75% crash.

Notably, he also emphasized that it shares similarities with that seen in the 2021 bull cycle, with Bitcoin peaking in its development. The outlook created panic, but Bitcoin responded with a strong performance, rebounding from the June lows to its recent ATH conquest.

Moreover, analyst Merlijn The Trader believes the recent downtrend is a mere retest. He insisted that Bitcoin was retesting January’s resistance to solidify the area as support before its next leg up.

According to the market watcher, history suggests that the next move is vertical. Meanwhile, he predicted that the next target is a rally to a new all-time high beyond $130,000, marking an over 18% increase from Bitcoin’s current price of $109,865.

Analyst Says XRP Moonshot Is Not a Matter of If, But When

0

While market sentiment has weakened, bullish analysts believe XRP still has its moon days ahead.

Specifically, these analysts are drawing confidence from XRP’s long-term chart structure, with technical readings pointing to a decisive shift in trend. According to market analyst Matt Hughes, also known as The Great Mattsby, XRP’s trajectory suggests that the next stage of breakout is closer than ever.

Hughes used a Gann Fan on the XRP weekly chart to illustrate how previous resistance levels have consistently flipped into support zones before further rallies. Historic peaks in 2018 and 2021, capped by diagonal resistance lines, have since been broken, with those barriers flipped into support.

Illustratively, XRP has been trading above the $1.96 peak of 2021 for several weeks without dropping below. Before this, the $0.50 to $1.00 range used to be a cap on XRP’s movements. But those days are now over.

Likewise, the $3.00 psychological level has since acted as a support zone that XRP has consistently maintained through the dips in August. While XRP occasionally dips below this level, it often reclaims the psychological barrier quickly.

To Hughes, this is a sign of significant strength, forming a stronger foundation for the next leg up.

XRP Testing the “Final Boss” Level

Currently, XRP trades at around $2.86, having briefly pushed above $3.66 a few weeks ago before facing rejection.

According to Hughes, the $3.00 zone represents the “final boss” resistance within the Gann Fan framework. If XRP can flip this area into firm support, Hughes suggests it would set the stage for a parabolic move, similar to past breakout runs.

The conviction behind this analysis is that XRP’s structural breakout is less a question of possibility and more a matter of timing. Hughes emphasized that XRP moon is coming—and it’s not about ‘if,’ but ‘when.’

For the XRP community, this outlook confirms long-standing bullish expectations. In a separate disclosure, Raoul Pal, CEO of Global Macro Investor, also expressed a bullish view on XRP.

XRP Now “Full Porting” to Higher Levels

He believes XRP is entering a new growth phase as capital rotates out of Bitcoin. Pal described the crypto market as a “waiting room,” with assets like Ethereum already breaking out, Solana next in line, and XRP now “full porting” to higher levels.

Pal points to historical price cycles, long consolidations followed by explosive moves, as a signal that XRP may be nearing another breakout. He highlighted a weekly chart showing XRP’s pattern of triangle formations since 2014, each preceding major rallies.

Raoul Pal's XRP chart
Raoul Pal’s XRP chart

Currently trading just under $3, XRP is forming a bullish pennant. A breakout above it could confirm the next leg up to all-time highs, potentially in the $10 range, as many analysts have speculated. Meanwhile, failure to hold support could lead to a retest of the $2 range.

Validator Publishes U.S. GDP Data on XRP Ledger, Explains Why the Government Did Not Pick XRP

0

An XRP Ledger (XRPL) validator has shown that the network can easily manage the same task the U.S. Department of Commerce recently carried out on other blockchains.

Vet, an XRPL dUNL validator, showed that publishing official economic data on-chain is possible on the XRPL in a simple and low-cost manner. This has further raised questions about why the U.S. government excluded the XRP Ledger from its recent initiative.

US Commerce Department Adopts Blockchain

For context, the Commerce Department recently announced that it had begun publishing key economic data, starting with GDP figures, directly on public blockchains.

Officials called the move a proof-of-concept to make government data more transparent and trustworthy. For its trial run, the department released a cryptographic hash of the GDP report across nine blockchains: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, TRON, Stellar, Avalanche, Arbitrum One, Polygon PoS, and Optimism.

The report also remains available in its usual formats, such as PDFs, but blockchain technology now makes it more secure and immutable. The recent development triggered excitement within crypto circles, as it pointed to growing public adoption of blockchain.

Validator Publishes US GDP Data on the XRPL

However, some XRP proponents noticed that the XRPL was not part of the list, even though it has proven to be a trustworthy destination for low-cost and efficient data storage and transactions. Most insisted that the XRPL could actually handle the task.

Interestingly, to prove that the omission had little to do with capability, Vet recreated the government’s method on XRPL.

He stored the SHA256 hash of the GDP report in two different ways: once as a memo within a transaction, similar to Bitcoin’s approach, and once inside a non-fungible token (NFT) that included both the hash and a link to the original file.

According to Vet, the entire process took only seconds and cost less than a penny. He stressed that all of this was done using native XRPL features, without the need for smart contracts.

In response, one proponent asked whether publishing data directly on XRPL would make services like Chainlink or Pyth unnecessary. Vet explained that while anyone can publish the data manually, distributors like Chainlink and Pyth make it more practical. They broadcast information quickly across multiple blockchains, and this ensures broader reach and reliability.

When asked if publishing large amounts of such data on XRPL might eventually slow the network down, Vet noted that memos and NFTs have already proven reliable at scale.

The dUNL validator pointed out that GDP data only comes out once every quarter, which puts less strain on the network compared to real-time price feeds. He also noted that XRPL Oracles could handle heavier loads if needed, giving the ledger even more room to scale.

Why the Government Sidelined XRPL

Meanwhile, someone suggested that the government chose different chains because of their ability to use smart contracts, which XRPL does not yet support at the base layer.

Responding, Vet admitted that smart contracts add versatility. However, the Commerce Department also published data on Bitcoin, which has no native smart contracts either.

Another critic claimed that the government’s decision showed a lack of trust in XRPL. However, Vet disagreed with this suggestion.

Notably, he explained that the Commerce Department relied on Chainlink and Pyth to distribute the GDP data. Since neither service currently supports XRPL, the ledger was simply not included. Vet claimed the decision had nothing to do with bias and had more to do with availability.

MANYU Holders Bet on Shiba Inu-Style Rally After Vitalik Buterin Sells His MANYU Donations

0

MANYU (MANYU) community members are hopeful that the token could replicate Shiba Inu’s success, following its recent sale by Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin.

Yesterday, the Ethereum co-founder sold several crypto assets he received from unsolicited donations from investors and project owners. Notably, the popular meme coin, MANYU, was among the tokens Buterin sold.

Etherscan data shows that Buterin sold over 2 trillion MANYU tokens, worth roughly $39,484, on CoW Protocol. The sale came less than two months after he received the tokens from MANYU community members in unsolicited donations.

Shiba Inu-Style Rally Incoming?

Buterin’s recent wallet activity, particularly his sale of MANYU, did not go unnoticed by enthusiasts of the token. Interestingly, most users see the sale as a bullish event that could drive MANYU’s value to greater heights.

Some users referenced how Shiba Inu’s market cap reached billions of dollars after the Ethereum founder offloaded SHIB. Recall that the Shiba Inu’s pseudonymous founder Ryoshi gifted Buterin 50% of the token’s supply (500 trillion SHIB). The donation was part of a broader marketing strategy aimed at attracting investors’ attention to SHIB.

Shortly after the donation, Buterin burned over 410 trillion SHIB and donated the rest to nonprofits supporting COVID-19 relief efforts. Although the transaction initially resulted in a sharp decline in SHIB’s price, it rebounded, eventually reaching an all-time high five months after Buterin offloaded the tokens.

In a separate development, the price of the pygmy hippo-inspired meme coin, Moo Deng (MOODENG), also rallied significantly after Buterin sold 10 billion units of the token. Following his recent MANYU sale, X user Diana Sanchez suggested that whenever Buterin sells or disposes of a meme coin, the token eventually becomes legendary.

Another user, Belen Franchese, speculated that history will definitely repeat itself with MANYU, implying that the token’s price would rally significantly, just like Shiba Inu and MOODENG did in the past.

MANYU Soars Only 2.51% in 24 Hours

In the meantime, MANYU is currently up 2.51% over the past 24 hours and is currently trading at $0.00002117 per token. It ranks as the 8,974th cryptocurrency globally with a valuation of $21,170.

Currently, MANYU has fallen 95.13% from its previous ATH of $0.0004344, recorded on February 18. While meme coins like Shiba Inu and MOODENG rallied significantly after Buterin offloaded them, it remains uncertain whether MANYU will follow the same trajectory.
