Pundit Sees XRP Hitting $20 to $30 Top, But Here’s Why He Thinks a Correction Could Follow

0

An XRP community pundit has insisted on his ambitious cycle top target for XRP, but believes a sharp correction is likely to follow.

XRP recently surged to $3.60, breaking past the key $2 resistance and triggering bullish sentiment across the market. As excitement builds, analysts have continued to express their bold targets.

XRP to Correct After $20 to $30 Top

One of the most outspoken market pundits is Zach Rector, a well-known figure in the XRP community and a media commentator. He believes XRP still has room to run, setting a cycle top between $20 and $30.

Zach Rector on X

However, Rector said he expects XRP to correct after hitting this top, a view which Johnny Utah, an XRP proponent, countered. Utah argued that the market has entered a new era shaped by regulation, real-world adoption, and growing institutional interest through ETFs.

His view aligns with sentiments from Bitcoin advocate and Strategy Chairman Michael Saylor, who also believes the usual four-year cycle no longer applies. Saylor claims that Bitcoin won’t see a major correction until it hits $1 million. Utah shares this belief but applies it to XRP instead.

Responding to Utah, Rector agreed that the crypto market has changed, but he stood by his call. He pointed out that despite changes in the market, the global liquidity cycle still influences how assets move. More importantly, he emphasized that investor behavior hasn’t changed, as people will still take profits, leading to corrections.

In a separate follow-up post, Rector clarified his stance. Specifically, he said that even though crypto’s four-year cycles might not play out like before, the emotional swings and decisions investors face remain constant.

For instance, if XRP reaches $20 to $30, he expects many holders to take profit. As a result, he predicts at least a 50% correction. However, Rector clarified that his aim is not to encourage people to trade the move, but to urge them to prepare for what a steep drop could mean for their portfolio.

Other Bullish XRP Cycle Top Predictions

Meanwhile, besides the Rector, other analysts have also made bullish predictions for XRP’s cycle top. For one, Tony Severino expects a quick move to $13, driven by a breakout from a long-term triangle. He believes the rally could happen within 40 days, mirroring the speed of XRP’s 2018 climb.

Also, market analyst CasiTrades initially set a July target between $6.50 and $8 but said XRP could push up to $26 before year-end if the momentum holds.

Further, EGRAG previously used past data to project an average top of around $20, though he noted that he sees the possibility of a run as high as $33 if XRP mirrors its 2017 performance. He believes the price could land anywhere between $7 and $21, depending on how the cycle plays out.

Meanwhile, researcher Ripple Van Wickle expects XRP to reach around $14 as Bitcoin heads toward $140,000. Also, Armando Pantoja predicts a maximum of $25 over the next two years, dismissing market cap concerns.

David Marcus Says Only Bitcoin Offers What the World Needs

0

David Marcus, a former skeptic-turned-Bitcoin believer, has some kind words for Bitcoin, stating that it is exactly what the world needs.

The former PayPal CEO took to X on July 23 to analyze the shortcomings of the current settlement system. He noted that the approach to mend this sector by regurgitating the same centralized means of transacting would not solve the problem; Bitcoin will.

The Need for Bitcoin

Marcus, who is the co-founder and CEO of Lightspark, stated that despite the advancement in technology, moving money is still largely centralized and unattractive. He frowned at the “flurry of new centralized networks” that fronted better settlement tactics but still had central control by a single company or a group of them.

According to him, what the world needs is an open, neutral, and decentralized network, and only Bitcoin currently meets that criterion. Notably, Bitcoin has a growing reputation as a currency, one that allows users to transact value seamlessly.

For context, the Bank of America recently classified Bitcoin as a currency, mentioning it is the best-performing in the category since the start of the year. While some may argue that Bitcoin is an asset, this highlights the dual nature of the digital currency. Bitcoin offers both transactional capabilities and serves as a hedge against inflation, as well as a store of value.

Everything Else Will Fail: Marcus

Meanwhile, Marcus noted that while Bitcoin used to be slow, costly, and limited in its functionalities, the same cannot be said of the blockchain now. It bears mentioning that nothing substantial has changed in Bitcoin’s core network itself, as it still maintains an average throughput of between five and seven transactions per second (TPS).

However, the introduction of layer 2 solutions, such as the Lightning Network and LightSpark, has drastically improved transacting on the network, offering both speed, off-chain transactions, and cost-effective means of payments through the Bitcoin network.

Further, the former PayPal executive emphasized that every other thing will fail or serve a small or specialized user base in the future, but Bitcoin will stand the test of time.

“Bitcoin will be the king interop network for all closed payment systems and wallets in the world,” Marcus added.

Conflicting Views on Marcus’s “Bitcoin Only” Sentiment

Interestingly, Marcus singled out Bitcoin as the one true open money grid for all on-chain transactions, a sentiment with which some others disagreed. For instance, David Lach, the founder of Superseed, believes that Ethereum, rather than Bitcoin, is the ideal foundation to build upon.

Another user seems to agree with Ethereum’s emergence as a choice for on-chain settlement. He pointed to the large stablecoin volumes on Ethereum as proof that institutions prefer to use the network over Bitcoin.

Meanwhile, enthusiasts like Tom Lee believe that Wall Street is converging on Ethereum to leverage the stablecoin traction and institutional tokenization push. However, they still view Bitcoin as the purest form of money in existence.

21Shares Taps Societe Generale for OTC Liquidity on Bitcoin, Ethereum ETPs

0

21Shares has partnered with Societe Generale to expand access to its crypto ETPs in Europe, enhancing liquidity and execution for institutional Bitcoin and Ethereum products.

Today, crypto ETP issuer 21Shares AG announced a new partnership with French banking giant Societe Generale. Notably, the collaboration aims to enhance institutional access and trading efficiency for its Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded products.

The collaboration focuses on Germany and Eastern Europe, markets that are experiencing a growing demand for crypto investment vehicles.

Societe Generale to Support Trading of Flagship Crypto ETPs

Under this new alliance, Societe Generale will serve as a market maker for four of 21Shares’ flagship crypto ETPs, traded under the symbols CBTC, ABTC, AETH, and CETH.

This includes the provision of over-the-counter (OTC) liquidity, a service crucial for handling large transactions outside traditional public exchanges. Institutions commonly use OTC platforms to manage high-volume trades in the digital asset space.

Specifically, by leveraging Societe Generale’s trading infrastructure and financial expertise, 21Shares aims to expand its reach and strengthen its offering for professional crypto investors in the region.

The partnership also aims to deliver tighter trading spreads, increased liquidity, and smoother execution for institutional clients.

Executive Commentary

According to Alistair Byas-Perry, who oversees EMEA Investment at 21Shares, the collaboration will help bring more efficiency to crypto ETP trading.

“This partnership strengthens our ability to offer secure and reliable investment tools in the crypto space,” he said.

For Societe Generale, the move reinforces its evolving role in the European digital asset space. Martina Schroettle, who heads ETF Sales Trading in the UK, said the bank is pleased to support 21Shares’ trading activities. She also called the initiative “an important milestone in expanding ETF and ETP access across the continent.”

Ultimately, as digital assets become increasingly mainstream, institutional investors are seeking dependable entry points into the cryptocurrency space. With this agreement, 21Shares and Societe Generale are setting a precedent for how traditional financial institutions can facilitate scalable access to digital markets.

Ripple Founder Continues to Dump XRP as Price Dips to $2.95

The XRP community is once again on high alert as new on-chain data reveals massive token movement by Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen.

This comes at a time when XRP is facing market pressure, with its price plunging over 17% in the past 24 hours.

$175 Million in XRP Transferred Since July 17

According to blockchain investigator ZachXBT, wallets linked to Larsen have transferred 50 million XRP, worth approximately $175 million, since July 17. The tokens were split among four addresses. Around $140 million in XRP has been sent to centralized exchanges or related platforms, fueling speculation of retail dumping.

Two of the largest recipients received a combined 30 million XRP, while another address received 10 million. Additionally, two brand-new addresses each received 5 million XRP.

For context, the period during which Larsen’s wallets moved these XRP tokens coincided with a major price rally. Notably, on July 17, when these transactions began, XRP hit $3.5406 for the first time in seven years. By the following day, XRP touched $3.66.

Just a week earlier, the coin had traded at $2.25. The significant gains from this surge may have influenced Larsen’s decision to move XRP. Now, the token is battling renewed selling pressure.

Price Plunges as Market Reacts

Today, XRP dropped to $2.95. Just yesterday, it traded at $3.55, a substantial one-day loss of 17%. The decline made XRP one of the worst-performing large-cap cryptocurrencies during the recent market correction.

At press time, XRP is showing signs of recovery, having reclaimed the $3 level and rebounded to $3.20. Despite this impressive bounce, its 24-hour performance still shows a 3% decline — a worse figure compared to the 1.5% dips seen in BNB and Solana.

Meanwhile, Bitcoin and Ethereum are already trading in positive territory. ETH is up 2.5%, currently trading at $3,700, while BTC has gained 0.61%, hovering around $118,700.

$9 Billion in XRP Still in Larsen-Linked Wallets

Despite the significant outflows, wallets associated with Chris Larsen still hold more than 2.81 billion XRP, currently worth approximately $9 billion. This lingering supply has reignited long-standing concerns about centralized token holdings and their impact on XRP’s market dynamics.

Notably, the latest spotlight on Larsen’s XRP wallets joins a series of sales earlier this year. An analysis by The Crypto Basic earlier this week revealed that Larsen has liquidated 106 million XRP worth over $334 million, mostly through Coinbase, since January.

As XRP pushes above the $3.00 level, pro-XRP investors and commentators argue that the next rebound could finally take XRP to $4, dismissing concerns about the recent dip.

HSBC Research Mentions an Emerging Safe Haven Asset Just After Gold

0

A recent HSBC analysis shows that the euro is becoming a reliable safe haven asset, ranking just behind gold and above Bitcoin.

In a study led by the bank’s analysts, including Max Kettner, HSBC used millions of portfolio simulations and a method called bootstrapping to assess how different assets perform during market volatility. Notably, the euro came out as the second most effective asset for protecting multi-asset portfolios, only slightly behind gold.

HSBC: Euro Now an Emerging Safe Haven

Kettner and his team pointed out that the euro now shows the same level of defensive strength as the Swiss franc, which investors have long relied on during market stress. The research team noted that while the franc still holds value, the euro provides a statistically stronger cushion in portfolios with standard equity exposure ranging between 40% and 60%.

Simply put, for most everyday investors and funds, the euro now plays a bigger role in keeping portfolios steady when markets swing.

Particularly, several factors helped the euro reach this level. For one, the Eurozone currently runs a solid current account surplus, which adds to its financial strength. In addition, political tensions across the region have cooled, making the eurozone more stable.

Moreover, the European Central Bank‘s gradual and predictable policy changes have also helped investors see the euro as a reliable, liquid currency that works well in diversified portfolios.

Meanwhile, the U.S. dollar, which many investors traditionally trust in tough times, now faces more uncertainty. Rising federal debt and recent political tensions, especially after Donald Trump returned to office in early 2025, have put pressure on the greenback.

Notably, this condition gave the euro room to recover. After falling by 7.19% between October and December 2024, the euro began rising steadily in early 2025. Since January, it has gained 13.75% against the dollar, now trading at $1.178.

Bitcoin Role as a Safe Haven

Importantly, HSBC’s report didn’t mention Bitcoin as a reliable safe haven despite its “digital gold” branding. While Bitcoin continues to divide opinion, several experts have pointed to its reliability in times of uncertainty.

For instance, Evan Kuo from Ampleforth told Business Insider that Bitcoin’s decentralized nature makes it useful when traditional assets fail. Also, Daniel Dixon of Interdax pointed out how people in countries like Argentina and Venezuela have turned to Bitcoin during currency crashes.

Back in 2022, a University of Luxembourg study said Bitcoin worked as a weak but effective safe haven during specific crises, like the sanctions on Russia.

However, at a recent wealth forum in Dubai, J. Rotbart & Co. managing partner Joshua Rotbart described Bitcoin as a high-risk, high-reward asset, useful for long-term gains but not quite reliable during market stress.

He also raised concerns about Bitcoin’s security and volatility. In addition, Dev Kantesaria from Valley Forge Capital sees Bitcoin more like a collectible than a genuine safe haven.

Despite the doubts, Bitcoin continues to outperform most traditional currencies. In 2025 alone, it has gained 27% against the dollar and 11.85% against the euro. It also beat the euro in both 2023 and 2024, with gains of 149% and 134% respectively.

Bitcoin Yearly Performance Against Euro
Bitcoin Yearly Performance Against Euro

In fact, since 2011, the euro has only gained against Bitcoin annually four times. However, this strong performance hasn’t changed the fact that Bitcoin still reacts sharply to market pressure, unlike gold, which remains steady when the economy takes a hit.

Shiba Inu Now Supports Over 10 Wallets Across Ethereum and Shibarium for Seamless Access

0

The ecosystem team behind Shiba Inu has revamped Shib.io, the token’s web platform, to support multiple crypto wallets.

In a message titled “Wallet Update Alert,” the team announced that its official web platform has “just leveled up” with new features.

The latest upgrade offers users cross-chain convenience, eliminating the need to manually switch between the Ethereum mainnet and Shiba Inu’s Layer 2 blockchain network, Shibarium.

Broader Wallet Support

Additionally, the upgrade now provides broader wallet support on Shib.io. According to the announcement, Shib.io now supports more than 10 blockchain wallets, including Trust Wallet, SafePal, Ledger, and Phantom.

Other supported wallets include those launched by top exchanges like Coinbase, OKX, and Bitget. In addition to the aforementioned list, users can also connect wallets such as MetaMask, Gate Wallet, imToken, Enkrypt Wallet, Rabby Wallet, Rainbow, TokenPocket, and Zerion to Shib.io.

Benefits of the Latest Upgrade

The latest upgrade provides seamless access to Shib.io, ensuring a smooth user experience for all users. Supporting multiple wallets and eliminating the need to switch between chains could help onboard more newcomers into the Shiba Inu ecosystem.

One factor that has hindered many people from entering the crypto market is the complexity involved in navigating decentralized applications (dApps). Previously, users had to connect to a specific wallet to access certain dApps and manually switch networks to interact with others.

These requirements sometimes frustrate those seeking to venture into the crypto market. However, Shiba Inu has just addressed this frustration by eliminating the network-switching hassle and supporting more blockchain wallets on Shib.io.

For context, Shib.io is the home of the Shiba Inu ecosystem. Through the platform, users can access Shiba Inu-related projects, including Shibarium, ShibDAO, the Shiba Inu dApp store, and ShibTorch.

Users can link any of the supported wallets by clicking the “Connect Wallet” button at the top-right corner of the Shib.io website or the project’s homepage. Once connected, users can begin interacting with the project immediately.

Pundit Says When You’re Around People Offline, Bring Up XRP to See How Early You Really Are

Vincent Kennedy, a notable voice in the XRP community, has urged holders to mention XRP in offline conversations, not as financial advice, but as a simple experiment.

According to him, doing so may reveal a surprising reality: most people still have no idea what XRP is. This insight adds to a growing list of indicators suggesting that current XRP investors are early adopters, possibly earlier than they realize.

Despite XRP’s high-profile legal battles, recent price surges, and institutional momentum, it remains largely unknown outside the crypto-savvy crowd.

Data Supports the Claim: Only 1 in 5,000 People Globally Hold XRP

Kennedy’s point echoes earlier findings by community commentator Edoardo Farina, who analyzed on-chain wallet data and concluded that only about 1 to 2 million people worldwide actively hold XRP.

When compared to the global population of over 8 billion, this means only 1 in every 4,000 to 5,000 people currently holds the token.

Farina also noted that even these numbers may be misleading, as many users hold multiple wallets. Farina himself controls over 20, meaning the actual number of unique holders could be significantly lower.

The Offline Test Proves You’re Still Early

Kennedy’s tweet encourages investors to step outside the crypto world and bring XRP into everyday conversations. From casual chats with friends to discussions at work or family gatherings, it may become clear that awareness of XRP remains minimal, even among those familiar with Bitcoin or Ethereum.

For instance, in May, Bitcoin advocate Ian Carroll disclosed he was only just starting to learn about XRP. This came during an interview at the Bitcoin 2025 conference in Las Vegas.

When asked whether he had heard of XRP, he responded yes, but noted that he didn’t know much about it and hadn’t done a deep dive into its use cases, tokenomics, or technology.

To XRP proponents, this “offline test” highlights just how early XRP is in its adoption curve. While the asset has been around for over a decade, its use cases and broader awareness are still far from mainstream.

XRP Price Pullbacks Don’t Change the Bigger Picture

Notably, XRP is currently down from its July 2025 high of $3.66, trading around $3.05. Yet, it still holds a strong 394% year-to-date gain, outperforming many other assets. Long-term believers like Farina and Alex Cobb argue that price corrections are simply part of the journey toward mass adoption.

Farina even highlighted that holding 2,500 XRP, around $7,500 at today’s prices, places an investor in the top 10% of all wallet holders. To him, that fact alone shows just how early one still is in XRP’s lifecycle.

These data points have been fueling aggressive bullish sentiment around the coin. For instance, influencer John Squire recently compared selling XRP now to dumping Apple stock just before the iPhone launch.

He reminded investors that Apple stock remained flat until the iPhone’s 2007 debut, after which it surged by over 8,500%. Squire suggests XRP could follow a similar trajectory as utility and adoption increase.

Meanwhile, some Bitcoin advocates like Davinci Jeremie argue that XRP is not a suitable long-term investment. They view it instead as a short-term speculative trade, useful only for quick profits.

XRP Holders Share the Main Reason They’re Still Holding On

0

In a recent poll, some XRP holders revealed the main reason they are still holding onto the token.

Notably, the poll was presented by Crypto Eri, a well-known voice in the XRP community, who asked her audience why they still hold XRP. She gave four choices, and deliberately left out the usual hype and rumors that often cloud discussions about the token.

Team Ripple

One of the options was “Team Ripple,” which talked about Ripple’s progress and how it could benefit XRP. Remarkably, Ripple hasn’t slowed down. In late 2024, they launched RLUSD, a stablecoin meant to bolster liquidity across their network.

Since then, they’ve teamed up with BNY to handle custody for the stablecoin. In addition, they have continued to acquire major firms, including Metaco, Standard Custody, and most recently, prime brokerage firm Hidden Road.

Ripple has also persisted in the practice of buying back its own shares. This indicates confidence in its long-term strategy. Essentially, most XRP holders think Ripple’s growth will eventually benefit the token, and this is why they continue to hold.

XRP as Multichain Gas Token and DeFi Leader

Another option Eri included was XRP’s use as a multichain gas token. Notably, XRP powers the XRP Ledger (XRPL), covering transaction fees and enabling asset transfers. With multichain activity becoming more important in crypto, some believe XRP’s utility here will grow.

The poll also featured the idea that XRP could soon lead the DeFi space. Right now, Ethereum dominates DeFi. However, XRP holders see potential for the XRPL to catch up amid recent progress.

For one, Ripple recently launched an Ethereum-compatible sidechain (EVM), and developers are working on bringing native smart contracts to the XRPL itself. The Flare Network is also building a project that connects XRP staking to XRPL.

In addition, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has floated the idea of using Midnight, Cardano’s privacy-focused chain, as a DeFi layer for XRPL. These developments give some XRP holders confidence that the network could eventually lead in DeFi.

XRP’s 2017 Rally

The final poll choice pointed to XRP’s famous 2017 rally. Back then, XRP jumped from $0.005 to over $3 in a matter of months, representing a staggering 68,000% increase.

Some analysts see patterns in XRP’s current price action that mirror its 2017 setup. While no one expects a repeat of that exact run, most market watchers believe a strong rally could still be ahead. This is one of the reasons some investors have kept on holding.

At press time, about 1,400 individuals have responded. Of this figure, 48% of the voters picked “Team Ripple” as their top reason.

Another 26% said they’re holding because they believe XRP will eventually lead the DeFi space. The remaining votes split evenly, with 13% supporting XRP’s role as a multichain gas token and 13% hoping for another major rally like 2017.

Far-fetched Claims around XRP

Eri also called out some of the more far-fetched claims within the community. She excluded them from the poll for a reason. These include the idea that all Japanese banks will adopt XRP, that the token was designed to prevent World War III, and that it holds official ISO status.

The claim about Japanese banks comes from past comments by SBI Holdings CEO Yoshitaka Kitao. Although SBI supports XRP and Ripple, no official development confirms that every bank in Japan plans to use it.

Also, the story about XRP being built to stop a global war lacks any credible proof and seems more symbolic than factual. As for ISO recognition, while RippleNet is ISO-compliant, XRP itself is not.

Here’s Why Chances to Buy XRP Below $2 Might Be Gone

0

Famous XRP commentator Oscar Ramos warns that XRP’s price may never drop below $2, indicating that investors may have permanently missed the chance to acquire the token at that level.

Ramos expressed this view in a 10-minute livestream shared on X. In it, he highlighted the current performance of the broader crypto market, including XRP. During the livestream, Ramos stated that he would like to purchase XRP at discounted prices, specifically around the $2 region.

“I want to buy XRP at $2 again. I want to buy the dip and buy XRP when it crashes or corrects,” he remarked. However, he does not believe investors would have another opportunity to buy XRP below $2 again, following its recent price surge.

Why XRP May Not Drop Below $2

The accompanying chart in the video showed that XRP was changing hands at around $3.5 at the time of the analysis. Following the recent surge in XRP’s price, Ramos suggested that a potential dip below the $2 mark might be a thing of the past.

One major factor supporting his optimism is the recent decline in Bitcoin dominance, which he claims has dropped from 66% to around 60%. Amid this decline, Ramos emphasized that altcoin dominance is on the rise.

Consequently, he said the trend indicates that the “big Altcoin Season” could be around the corner. For context, altcoin season is when the price action of major alternative cryptocurrencies outperforms Bitcoin.

During this time, most tokens record new all-time highs (ATHs). Ramos’s belief in an imminent altcoin season also bolsters his confidence that XRP might never drop below $2.

XRP is Becoming Too Expensive for Most Retail Investors

Meanwhile, several XRP commentators note that retail investors may have missed their chance to buy at lower prices following its rally, which began after the re-election of Donald Trump.

Last month, top XRP pundit Edoardo Farina boldly claimed that 99% of average investors may no longer be able to afford 10,000 XRP, which was valued at $22,300 at the time. He stated that owning a portfolio of 10,000 XRP is a luxury that only a few investors can afford.

Additionally, community pundit Xena noted that it is “insane” that the value of 1,000 XRP has skyrocketed above $3,000, a budget that is out of reach for most investors.

In the meantime, XRP has lost most of its recent gains, plummeting from the $3.50 mark to $3.07 today. At the current price of $3.07, XRP has crashed 12.35% in the past 24 hours and 2.36% over the past week.
