US Liquidity Bottom Flashes Hope for Bitcoin Rebound

0

U.S. liquidity may be bottoming out, according to Capriole Investments founder Charles Edwards.

The vibes in the Bitcoin and crypto community have been anything but immaculate in the past two months. After blistering price rallies in Q4 2024, many had anticipated more of the same in Q1 2025, especially in light of President Donald Trump’s crypto-friendly stance. But reality has been quite the opposite.

Bitcoin has tanked almost 25% from its highs, and several altcoins have lost double that. Amidst this rout, one analyst has highlighted a potential lifeline even as others assert that we are now in a bear market.

U.S. Liquidity Finds Bottom?

According to Capriole Investments founder Charles Edwards, U.S. liquidity may be bottoming out.

In an X post on Tuesday, March 18, Edwards asserted that the metric was flashing “the first signs” of what could be a major multi-year bottom.

Specifically, he noted that the metric appeared to be forming “an Eve/Adam bottom,” which refers to a typically powerful reversal pattern combining a V (Adam) and U (Eve) shaped candlestick formation. It acts similar to a double bottom.

Why It Matters for Bitcoin

U.S. liquidity finding a bottom and rising is important for Bitcoin as excess liquidity often finds its way to risk markets like crypto. As highlighted by Capriole, crypto’s 2021 bull cycle was largely attributed to a rise in this liquidity. However, it has remained largely flat in the present cycle, explaining some of the market’s struggles.

The hedge fund founder noted that 2025 could be the right time for the Federal Reserve to move away from economic tightening as Trump’s tariff policies spark recession concerns.

The potential U.S. liquidity bottom formation comes as analysts like CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju have asserted that we are in a bear market, warning of continued sideways or even bearish price movement in the coming months. Young Ju specifically pointed to a lack of fresh liquidity in his outlook.

While a potential boost in U.S. liquidity could theoretically invalidate Young Ju’s thesis, it does take a while for the liquidity to flow into crypto markets.

Expert Predicts XRP Price If Bitcoin Surge to $145K in Two Month Time

0

Tony Edwards, the host of the Thinking Crypto podcast, projects a scenario where a resurgence in the bull run could push Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP to new ATHs.

The recent performance of major crypto assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP has left many investors disappointed despite XRP showing greater resilience than the rest of the market.

BTC, ETH, and XRP Fall from Recent Highs

These assets have lost most of the gains accumulated after Donald Trump’s re-election in November. For instance, Bitcoin, which surged to an all-time high of $109,114 on Inauguration Day, January 20, is down 24.12% to $82,787.

Ethereum was trading at $1,897 in the hours before press time, despite soaring above $4,000 in December.

XRP, which became the third-biggest crypto by market cap following its remarkable post-election performance, has dropped to the fourth position. XRP soared to $3.38 on January 16 but has since plunged 32.54% to $2.28.

This downturn has spread across the broader crypto market, with top assets also experiencing similar price declines.

Thinking Crypto Host Remains Optimistic

While many investors are expressing disappointment in the heavy downturns, Edwards seems optimistic about the market’s potential.

He imagines a hypothetical scenario in which the prices of the top three crypto assets by market cap–BTC, ETH, and XRP (excluding stablecoins)—hit ambitious targets within the next two months.

Notably, he sets Bitcoin’s target at $145,000, Ethereum at $7,000, and XRP at $5. Achieving these milestones would require Bitcoin, Ethereum, and XRP to rise 75.14%, 269%, and 119% from their current prices of $82,787, $1,897, and $2.28, respectively.

For context, Bitcoin will have a market cap of $2.87 trillion if it clinches the $145,000 target. Also, Ethereum and XRP’s valuation will rise to $844.37 billion and $290.54 billion at the projected targets, respectively.

Edwards did not highlight a possible factor that could trigger such rallies. Apparently, the post was an attempt to spark discussion, excitement, and possibly a little FOMO (fear of missing out) among his over 131K X followers.

Despite the speculative nature of the analyst’s recent disclosure, it reflects growing bullish sentiments in some parts of the crypto community.

Similar Predictions

For context, several experts have issued similar targets for some of these cryptos. In January, CryptoQuant forecasted that Bitcoin would target a minimum price of $145,000 this year, potentially driven by pro-crypto regulation and strong institutional adoption.

In the same month, popular crypto chartist Ali Martinez forecasted that Ethereum could hit a price target of $7,000 this bull cycle. Also, leading asset manager Bitwise set a similar target for the second-biggest cryptocurrency. As previously reported, the top asset manager predicted that Ethereum will rise to $7,000 this year.

Similarly, pseudonymous crypto analyst Altcoin Moe believes that XRP will register a new all-time high of $5 this cycle. Furthermore, Martinez recently suggested that the $5 target for XRP is achievable, asserting that the asset must first “break above the right shoulder at $3.”

While these predictions look appealing, investors must tread carefully when investing in crypto, especially during this highly volatile period.

Burwick Law Files Lawsuit Against LIBRA Token Creators, Seeking Compensation

0

Prominent crypto law firm Burwick Law has filed a lawsuit against the entities tied to LIBRA token, seeking disgorgement of profits and compensation for losses.

The LIBRA token saga has taken another legal twist amid heightening tension between its creators and Argentine prosecutors. This time, investors in the United States have unanimously filed a lawsuit against the firms affiliated with the controversial meme coin.

On Monday, Burwick Law announced a lawsuit against Kelsier Ventures and two crypto platforms, Meteora and KIP Protocol. The legal firm sued the involved parties on behalf of its aggrieved clients at the Supreme Court of New York.

Affected Investors Seek Recompense

Notably, the lawsuit accused Kelsier, KIP, and Meteora of misleading retail investors into acquiring the “scam” token, leading to massive losses. Notably, The Crypto Basic earlier reported that 86% of wallets that bought the LIBRA token lost a combined $251 million.

The lawsuit branded the token’s launch “deceptive, manipulative, and fundamentally unfair,” citing several instances of insider foul play. Burwick highlighted cases such as the one-sided liquidity addition by the token’s developers on DEX Meteora, where they replaced Solana and USDC on the liquidity pool with LIBRA.

Excerpt from Burwick’s Lawsuit

Additionally, it mentioned the “predatory” move to centralize LIBRA’s token distribution without due disclosure. Per reports, over 83% of the token’s supply was held in one cluster, making it easy for the project’s insiders to dump on well-meaning retail investors.

The lawsuit seeks to disgorge profits that the token creators unfairly realized. Notably, the team, led by Hayden Davis, made off with over $100 million, leaving over 13,000 LIBRA wallet holders with a minimum loss of $1,000.

Furthermore, Burwick pleads for the recompense of affected investors and payment for damages. The lawsuit also seeks injunctive relief mandating the team to never create “fraudulent tokens” in the future.

The Saga Drags On

The LIBRA token controversy emanated from a Feb. 14 tweet from Argentina’s President Javier Milei promoting a meme coin, which he said was in an attempt to inspire small business funding in Argentina. However, the effort went south as the bad actors behind the token leveraged his influence to allegedly defraud investors.

The token capsized over 95% after the president deleted the tweet, with the fallout catalyzing impeachment threats from the opposition party. However, Milei has insisted on no wrongdoing and called the ploy a politicization of his gesture to promote innovation in Argentina.

Moreover, the Argentine prosecutors have made efforts to freeze the $100 million gains generated from the LIBRA token scam while officially seeking the Interpol Red Notice on creator Davis.

PEPE Eyes 45% Rally to $0.000010 Amid Falling Wedge Breakout

Pepe price trend gains bullish momentum with a wedge breakout. Will this result in a 45% rally to the $0.000010 mark?

The meme coin is aiming for a bullish recovery as the market remains mildly optimistic for a potential bounce-back. PEPE’s uptrend could reclaim the $0.000010 psychological mark with a falling wedge breakout rally gaining momentum.

However, the intraday pullback at a crucial dynamic resistance comes as a strong resistance. Will Pepe continue a sustained recovery to reach the psychological milestone?

Pepe Eyes 45% Price Surge With Wedge Breakout

In the daily chart, the PEPE price action reveals a bounce back from a local support trendline, gaining momentum. The bullish reversal has breached the overhead resistance trendline by avoiding a retest of the $0.0000050 psychological mark.

Pepe Price Chart
Pepe Price Chart

This marks a bullish breakout of a falling wedge pattern. With a post-retest reversal, PEPE formed a bullish candle of a 12% surge on Monday. This marked a strong bullish start to the week and a post-retest reversal.

However, the breakout rally in PEPE struggles to overcome the 20-day EMA line. With an intraday pullback of 4%, PEPE currently trades at $0.0000070.

Despite the short-term struggle, the moving average convergence-divergence momentum indicator reveals a positive trend in the MACD and signal lines. The rising bullish histograms signal a potential recovery as the average lines trend closer to the positive territory.

However, due to the prevailing downfall, the 20-, 50-, 100- and 200-day EMA lines have gained bearish alignment. Hence, the dynamic average lines could act as resistances along the recovery.

Based on the Fibonacci levels, the breakout rally in PEPE could reach the 23.60% level at $0.00001025. This marks an upside potential of nearly 45% from the current market price.

On the flip side, the crucial support remains at $0.0000060 and $0.0000050 psychological mark.

Analyst Signals Potential Pepe Rally to $0.000010

Amid the recent recovery, Ali Martinez, a crypto analyst, highlights a strong bullish potential in Pepe. Per the analyst, the meme coin is on the verge of creating a bullish inverted head and shoulder pattern.

The neckline of the inverted head-and-shoulders pattern is around $0.0000075. Additionally, the right shoulder of this pattern suggests the formation of a double bottom, with a baseline at $0.0000065.

The neckline of the double bottom aligns with the larger inverted head-and-shoulders pattern. As a result, an hourly close above $0.0000075 could trigger a strong bullish move.

According to the analyst, the breakout in Pepe could lead to a rally toward the psychological level of $0.0000105.

Will Solana Plummet to $60 as Network Activity Dips by 50%?

Solana is in freefall with a potential crash below $100 as network activity declines. Could this lead to the SOL price testing of $60?

Amid the broader market uncertainty, Solana’s price trend has maintained its downward trajectory. With an intraday pullback of 3.07%, Solana is currently trading at $124.

Additionally, declining conditions on the Solana network raise concerns about a more severe correction in SOL prices. Will this cause the price to break the $100 psychological mark?

Declining Solana Prices Warn $100 Breakdown

On the daily chart, SOL’s price trend is under strong bearish pressure. Since its all-time high of $295, Solana has experienced a nearly 60% drop.

The pullback phase has now extended over 60 days, and the bearish trend suggests a high likelihood of SOL crashing below the $100 psychological level.

Solana Price Chart
Solana Price Chart

A recovery attempt last week from a swing low of $112 saw the price peak at $137 on Sunday. However, this week has brought a fresh wave of bearish momentum. As a result, SOL is likely to create another lower low and test the S1 pivot support level at $104.30.

With the bearish trend gaining momentum, the $100 psychological support level is at risk of breaking down. In this scenario, the S2 pivot support level at $60 becomes the primary bearish target, indicating a downside potential of nearly 50%.

Nevertheless, a bullish divergence in the MACD and the positive crossover between the MACD and signal lines offers a glimmer of hope. This could suggest a potential recovery if the broader market stabilizes.

If that happens, the center pivot level at $169.20 may serve as the next immediate price target.

Solana Network Activity Slows Down

As the SOL price trend witnesses a spike of bearish influence, the network witnesses a massive decline in activity. The number of active addresses on the Solana network has dropped from 5.69 million to 2.76 million since January 2025.

This represents a more than 50% decline over the past 60 days. Additionally, the number of new addresses on the Solana network has fallen to 2.6 million. With the rate of unique first-time signers decreasing, demand for the SOL token is unlikely to increase.

President Trump and Partners to Receive 75% of WLFI Project’s Net Revenue, Amounting to $390M

0

U.S. President Donald Trump and his business associates will claim 75% of the net revenues from World Liberty Financial’s (WLFI) project.

According to WLFI’s gold paper, this share includes earnings from WLFI token sales after deducting operating expenses, as detailed in the company’s issuance documents.

WLFI Fundraising and Token Distribution

World Liberty Financial recently completed its fundraising efforts, raising a total of $550 million, according to an official update. The sale of WLFI’s token started in October 2024, targeting $300 million. The project made 20 billion tokens available at $0.015 per piece. Notably, only whitelisted investors could participate.

The token sale, however, generated $11 million from 766 million WLFI sold. In response to lower-than-expected demand, the team revised its funding goal downward to $30 million to align with investor interest.

The first phase of the token sale completed on January 20, with 20% of the supply successfully distributed. Among the notable investors was Justin Sun.

Trump’s Financial Agreement and Role

From the funds raised, $30 million has been allocated to cover firm expenses, indemnities, and other financial commitments. The remaining amount is distributed among stakeholders, with Trump and his partners at DT Marks DEFI LLC securing 75% of the net revenue, amounting to $390 million.

In exchange, Trump is expected to occasionally promote the project and permit the use of his name and likeness, as outlined in the company’s gold paper.

While he does not hold an active management role at World Liberty Financial, he remains a key figure in the project’s promotion. Notably, his involvement ensures a significant financial return despite his limited direct participation.

Community Reacts

Users on the X platform have raised concerns about the project’s revenue structure. One user questioned whether the high fees would impact the project’s success and adoption in the long term.

Another user commented on the revenue model, highlighting the 75% share allocated to Trump and his partners. The post noted that such a structure deviates from conventional financial norms but acknowledged the boldness of the approach.

The statement suggested that the revenue split was remarkable in its audacity despite raising concerns about its sustainability.

Tether Increases Bitcoin Mining Stake with Additional $18M Investment in Bitdeer

0

Leading stablecoin issuer Tether has increased its Bitcoin mining exposure by increasing its investment in public mining firm Bitdeer.

In a Monday, March 17 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Bitdeer disclosed that through its subsidiary Tether Investment, Tether acquired 1.8 million of its class A shares worth $18.2 million from February 26 to March 13.

With the move, Tether, through Tether International and Tether Investments, now claims nearly 32 million Bitdeer shares. This represents 21.4% of the firm’s outstanding shares. This includes 26.7 million shares purchased for over $138.7 million and warrants for nearly 5.2 million shares.

Tether first invested in Bitdeer in May 2024, paying $100 million through Tether International for roughly 18.6 million shares in a deal that offered it an option to purchase an additional 5 million shares at $10 per share.

Tether’s Bitdeer investments are part of its efforts to extend its influence beyond stablecoins, leveraging its significant profits. Among the firm’s new areas of focus is mining, with an interest in “sustainable Bitcoin mining operations.”

Bitdeer has made a push toward sustainability by partnering with Bhutan’s sovereign wealth investment firm to build carbon-free mining operations that leverage the country’s abundant water resources.

Most recently, however, Bitdeer’s primary focus has been on building proprietary Bitcoin mining chips for higher performance and efficiency. This focus has come at a significant short-term cost to the firm’s profitability. It reported a net loss of $532 million in Q4 2024.

Nonetheless, Bitdeer’s share price is up 1.26% at the time of writing on Tuesday, March 18, trading at $10.48 premarket.

Long-Term Shiba Inu Holders Increase Their Balance to a New Peak of 786T+ SHIB

0

The cumulative balance of Shiba Inu addresses that have held their bag for at least a year has risen to a new peak.

This is according to on-chain data provided by blockchain resource IntoTheBlock. Notably, this bullish development comes when Shiba Inu witnesses bearish pressure due to the broader market’s turbulence.

For context, the meme coin is down 62% from its latest peak of $0.00003343, attained during the Donald Trump-led rally in late 2024. SHIB has witnessed three consecutive monthly declines, having collapsed by more than 57%. Shiba Inu is also down 9.04% this month alone.

Long-Term Shiba Inu Holders Continue to Accumulate

Despite the downturn, most long-term investors display impressive resilience, as evidenced in the recent IntoTheBlock data. Particularly, Shiba Inu Hodlers (those holding for over a year) have increased their cumulative balance to 786.24 trillion SHIB, a new all-time high. Note that this class also includes the burn address.

Shiba Inu Addresses by Time Held IntoTheBlock

Notably, this is the only tier of holders that have continued to increase their balance amid the downturn. Further data indicates that Cruisers (those holding between 1 and 12 months) and Traders (those holding for less than a month) have seen their balances decline by 14.91% and 42.73% respectively in the past week.

In contrast, Hodlers have observed a 5.73% increase in their holdings within the same period. This indicates that while short-term traders are panic-selling, long-term holders are continuously accumulating in preparation of a potential rebound.

Interestingly, this trend occurred just before the latest Shiba Inu upsurge that pushed the asset to $0.000033 late 2024. For context, Hodlers increased their holdings from 747.06 trillion to 784.64 trillion SHIB between Oct. 30 and Nov. 4, 2024, right before the U.S. elections. Within this period, Cruisers reduced their balance from 220 trillion to 182 trillion tokens.

Meanwhile, following the market-wide upsurge, Hodlers started reducing their balance gradually, translating to profit-taking trades, while Cruisers saw a rise in balance possibly due to FOMO entry.

Another Uptrend on the Horizon?

Notably, the recent rise in Hodlers’ holdings and concurrent drop in the balance held by Cruisers could indicate that another rally might be on the horizon. These long-term holders typically increase their bag during poor market sentiments, especially when they expect a potential uptrend.

In addition to long-term holders, large whales have also increasingly accumulated more tokens. According to IntoTheBlock data, whales holding between 10 trillion and 100 trillion SHIB have procured 3.75 trillion SHIB since Jan. 31, when the ongoing downtrend began, bringing their balance to 164.4 trillion.

Meanwhile, Shiba Inu has recently faced a hurdle in its recovery campaign after soaring to $0.00001383 two days back. The meme coin is on track to witness a second consecutive intraday loss except it pushes back above $0.000013. SHIB currently changes hands at $0.00001268.

Bitcoin Set to Exit Triangle: Can ETF Inflows Fuel a $90K Rally?

Bitcoin remains trapped in a triangle pattern, keeping traders on edge. Can a breakout rally to $90K occur amid a surge in ETF inflows?

At nearly $83,000, Bitcoin continues to fluctuate while the broader market uncertainty intensifies. With the intraday pullback of 1.27%, the BTC price action warns of a major crash ahead.

However, the impressive comeback in institutional support from U.S. Bitcoin spot ETFs teases another breakout rally. Will the institutional investment steer Bitcoin away from a breakdown correction for a bounce back to the $90,000 mark?

Bitcoin Within Ascending Triangle Warns Breakdown

On the hourly time frame, Bitcoin’s price action shows an ascending triangle pattern that will determine its fate. Currently, Bitcoin struggles to break the resistance near $84,850, a sign of bullish failure.

The pullback, amounting to nearly 2%, is testing the local support trendline. The growing bearish pressure on Bitcoin’s price trend raises the possibility of a breakdown correction.

However, the ongoing recovery within the ascending triangle shows a positive crossover in the Directional Movement Index (DMI) lines. Additionally, the ADX line, which reflects trend momentum, is showing an uptick.

Bitcoin ETFs Mark Biggest Inflow Since February 4

Despite the downside risks, the resurgence of institutional investment in Bitcoin from the U.S. ETF market offers hope for a potential recovery. On March 17, U.S. Bitcoin spot ETFs recorded a daily net inflow of $274.59 million.

Among the biggest contributors, Fidelity recorded $127.28 million, followed by ARK and 21Shares, which saw inflows of $88.53 million. BlackRock also recorded $42.26 million, with Grayscale adding $14.22 million and Bitwise $2.3 million.

Meanwhile, other Bitcoin ETFs like WisdomTree, Coinshares, and Franklin reported a net-zero flow. With this massive influx, Bitcoin ETFs have seen their largest inflows in the past six weeks.

Will Bitcoin Bounce Back to $90k?

Given the renewed institutional support driving Bitcoin demand, the chances of a breakout rally from the triangle pattern have significantly increased. In such a scenario, pivot levels suggest an immediate price target of $86,387 at the R1 pivot level.

However, the key price target remains at the R2 pivot level, which is set at $90,200—representing an upside potential of nearly 9%.

Warning of a Bear Cycle

As the BTC price action hangs at a balance, Ki Young Ju, the founder and CEO of CryptoQuant, highlights a potential bear cycle coming for Bitcoin. In his recent tweet, Young states that the Bitcoin bull cycle is over.

The analyst anticipates 6 to 12 months of bearish or sideways price action.

As Bitcoin tests the local support trendline after a steep pullback, the risk of a breakdown rally increases.

Based on the pivot levels, the correction could test the center pivot level near $81,500. However, the increased momentum might drive Bitcoin to the S1 pivot support level at $77,683, suggesting a downside risk of nearly 6.5%.

In short, the final confirmation of Bitcoin’s direction will come from its price action as it remains trapped in the triangle pattern.

Hashdex Files With SEC to Add XRP and Cardano to Its Nasdaq Crypto Index US ETF

0

Top crypto asset manager Hashdex submits an amended filing to the U.S. SEC to include XRP and Cardano in its Nasdaq Crypto Index US ETF (NCIQ).

Hashdex submitted the filing on March 14, seeking to expand the crypto asset offering in its Nasdaq Crypto Index US ETF.

Currently, the fund features two of the world’s largest cryptocurrencies by market cap, Bitcoin and Ethereum. The assets are featured based on their market cap-weighted exposure, with Bitcoin and Ethereum weighing 88.3% and 11.7%, respectively.

Hashdex Seeks to Add XRP and Cardano to NCIQ ETF

Interestingly, Hashdex is seeking SEC approval to include other altcoins in the ETF. The proposed cryptocurrencies include XRP and ADA. In addition, the proposal also mentioned other assets like AVAX, SOL, LTC, UNI, and LINK.

If the SEC approves Hashdex’s request, the asset manager will update the fund’s composition to mirror the weightings of the proposed altcoins based on their market valuations.

At the time of the filing, Hashdex emphasized that Bitcoin and Ethereum account for over 85% of the ETF’s composition.

“As of the date of this prospectus, they [Bitcoin and Ethereum] collectively represent over 85% of the Index,” an excerpt of the filing read.

NCIQ Details

Launched on February 13, 2025, the Hashdex ETF is trading on the Nasdaq stock exchange with a management fee of 0.25%.

Hashdex serves as the sponsor, with U.S. Bancorp Fund Services LLC being the administrator and Parallel Distributors, the marketing agent. As of March 18, the NCIQ ETF boasts an AUM of $70.43 million and outstanding shares of 3.28 million.

Asset Managers File to Launch XRP and Cardano ETFs in the US

Meanwhile, some of the cryptos Hashdex plans to add to the NCIQ ETF already have separate filings for a spot exchange-traded fund.

While XRP has filings for at least 15 ETF products from top asset managers like Bitwise and 21Shares, Cardano has seen one spot ETF application from Grayscale Investments.

So far, the SEC has acknowledged these ETF filings, with the crypto community anticipating their potential launch later this year.
