Expert Explains What to Do if XRP Falls Below $1, Predicts XRP Price in 2025

The ongoing market dip affecting the price of XRP has sparked discussions on how XRP holders could handle a situation where XRP’s price drops to $1 again.

Notably, XRP has dropped by 7.7% today alone, worsening its weekly trajectory with a substantial 17% loss. Despite this significant bearish pressure, XRP remains above the psychological $2 level, currently trading at $2.14 at press time.

XRP’s downturn has been ongoing since February, during which it fell below $2 to $1.96. During this time, various market commentators predicted a steeper price decline. Ali Martinez cited technical analysis to argue for a 40% price dip to $1 for XRP.

What if XRP Does Dip to $1?

While it recovered to $3 following the initial call, it is now at risk of dipping below $2. Amid this ongoing uncertainty, Edoardo Farina, the Head of Social Adoption at XRPHealthcare, sparked a conversation about how to approach an XRP price dip to $1.

Specifically, Farina asked community members what they would do if XRP revisited the $1 price again. The post attracted numerous suggestions from the community. One comment from Vandell Aljarrah, Co-founder of BlackSwanCapitalist, stood out.

Aljarrah shared his optimistic outlook for XRP, saying that if it fell to $1, it would be a great opportunity to buy more, aligning with institutional investors and large holders. Specifically, he argued that if XRP were to drop below $1 again, big money would see it as a buying opportunity.

He stressed that he would do the same, buying more XRP tokens at a discount rather than panicking over the drop.

XRP Future Price Prediction for 2025

Aljarrah went further, making a bold price prediction for XRP in 2025. He forecasts that XRP could surge to a price range between $20 and $30 by the end of the year. He believes the price range is possible even without major utility developments.

With XRP at only $2.17 today, reaching $20 would require nearly 10X growth. At the same time, reaching $30 would represent a 1,282% surge from its current level.

This optimism and hope for substantial wealth opportunities ahead form Aljarrah’s belief that buying XRP at $1 would be a good deal.

Many other commentators have shared a similar perspective about XRP’s trajectory. According to Farina, XRP reaching a $20 price could even be seen as an accumulation point for further gains.

Meanwhile, in recent times, market participants have been battling low sentiment amid the unyielding market dip. Accordingly, some doubt XRP’s ability to reach $20 anytime soon.

Here’s Why Bitcoin Crash to $80K is a Normal Correction Rather Than the Start of a Major Downtrend

0

Data confirms that the latest Bitcoin crash is likely the result of a natural correction rather than the start of a major downtrend.

Bitcoin has again dropped below $80,000 for the second time this year, triggering panic among investors. As fear spreads, many question whether this decline signals the end of Bitcoin’s bull run or if it is merely a natural correction within an ongoing uptrend.

Decline in Peak Losses Shows Bitcoin in a Natural Correction

In a recent analysis, Glassnode revealed that although Bitcoin revisited the low $80K range, the extent of realized losses remains significantly lower compared to previous corrections.

For instance, during the late February and early March downturns, aggregated peak losses ranged from $592 million to as high as $933 million. However, the latest pullback saw a peak loss of just $377 million, indicating a decline in panic selling.

A major change in this correction is that losses are now spreading to investors who have held Bitcoin for 3 to 6 months. In late February, this cohort only realized losses of about $2 million, but this number has now surged to $9.5 million.

Meanwhile, holders from the 6 to 12-month range are showing resilience, with negligible realized losses. Instead of panic selling, they are actively distributing at a profit. On March 10, this group took $26.4 million in profits, accounting for 44.4% of all profits across different investor categories, excluding short-term traders who held for less than 24 hours.

Essentially, while short-term price action could remain choppy, especially if $80K doesn’t hold, the lower realized losses and continued profit-taking from older cohorts (instead of full-scale capitulation) suggest that this is likely a normal market correction rather than the start of a major downtrend.

Axel Adler Jr., a CryptoQuant analyst, confirmed further. He highlighted that long-term holders had already distributed 1.715 million BTC when prices surged past $60,000.

However, this phase of intense selling has now cooled off, with the net position change of long-term holders returning to neutral. This suggests that large-scale exits have significantly declined, which could reduce further downside pressure.

Possible Further Decline Before Recovery

Meanwhile, market veteran Michaël van de Poppe stressed that Bitcoin is seeing a lack of a decisive breakthrough in recent price action, which explains the continued downward movement. He predicted that the market would likely retest previous lows or take liquidity in that range.

He outlined two possible scenarios: Bitcoin could either find support and establish a higher low, or it could decline further to the $76,000 to $78,000 zone, forming a double-bottom pattern before bouncing higher.

Another analyst, CrediBULL, noted that Bitcoin is currently forming a base before making a full reversal. He expects price action to remain volatile in the short term, with Bitcoin chopping between a local supply zone of $94,000 to $99,000 and a higher timeframe demand zone just under $74,000.

After recently rejecting from the local supply area, the market is now building a foundation for the next move. He is closely monitoring reactions at the extreme ends of the current range to gauge Bitcoin’s next direction.

Further, Ted, a market veteran, compared Bitcoin’s performance with traditional assets such as the S&P 500 and gold. He observed that while all three assets experienced a strong rally in Q4 of the previous year, their trajectories have since diverged.

Gold appears to be in an up-only phase, whereas both Bitcoin and the S&P 500 have been facing corrections. Based on the historical correlation between Bitcoin and the stock market, he suggested that Bitcoin could potentially decline to the $72,000 to $74,000 range before establishing a solid bottom.

Recall that as Bitcoin traded around $88K last month, Standard Chartered’s Geoff Kendrick warned that further declines before a recovery could occur. At press time, BTC trades for $80,053, down 4.28% over the past 24 hours.

Second-Largest Spanish Bank Secures Approval to Offer Bitcoin Custody and Trading Services

0

BBVA SA has obtained regulatory approval from Spain’s National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) to provide crypto custody and execution services.

The bank, Spain’s second-largest by assets, plans to introduce a new offering that allows retail clients to buy, sell, and manage Bitcoin and Ethereum transactions directly through its mobile application. Matthew Sigel, head of research at VanEck, confirmed this news on the X platform.

BBVA Expands Crypto Offerings in Spain

According to Bloomberg, BBVA intends to roll out the service initially to a select group of customers before making it available to all private clients in Spain over the coming months.

The bank, headquartered in Bilbao, Spain, is the first in the country to receive CNMV authorization for such services. The bank has already launched similar crypto-related services in Switzerland and Turkey.

In Spain, BBVA aims to provide a secure digital asset management experience by using its own cryptographic key custody platform without relying on third parties.

While offering execution and custody services, BBVA clarified that it would not provide advisory services related to crypto assets.

Expansion of Crypto Services in Turkey

The bank’s crypto expansion aligns with its broader international strategy. In January, Turkey’s Garanti BBVA announced plans to offer cryptocurrency trading to over 27 million customers.

Through its subsidiary, Garanti BBVA Krypto, the Turkish bank introduced a platform enabling users to buy and sell digital assets, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Circle’s USDC.

BBVA’s move involved a collaboration with Bit2Me, a Spanish crypto exchange, which would serve as BBVA’s trade execution partner.

At the time of the report, Garanti BBVA had already begun incorporating cryptocurrency-related features into its offerings. The bank introduced additional functionalities such as the Request Payment feature and the Bonus Platinum Biometrics Card, enhancing customers’ ability to transact digital assets.

Since January 2024, Garanti BBVA has also advertised crypto services on its website. Meanwhile, access was initially limited to a pilot program.

Deutsche Bank Backs US Bitcoin Reserve, Sees Strategic Role in Financial Strategy

Deutsche Bank, a German multinational investment bank, has commented on the proposed U.S. Bitcoin reserve, highlighting the positives of the move.

Matthew Sigel, Head of Digital Assets Research at VanEck, drew attention to the report in a tweet today.

Notably, the Deutsche Bank Research report suggests that Bitcoin could play a major role in the United States’ financial strategy as a strategic reserve asset. The report highlights Bitcoin’s fixed supply, decentralization, and strong security track record, comparing it to gold in terms of scarcity and resilience.

Furthermore, Deutsche Bank cited growing concerns over inflation and dollar depreciation. It believes that Bitcoin’s inclusion in national reserves could help hedge against inflation and benefit the U.S. dollar as the country strengthens its leadership in the crypto market.

Moreover, the bank emphasized that a U.S. Bitcoin reserve could signal confidence in crypto’s future. In particular, it could set new international standards, much like the U.S. gold reserves did in the 20th century.

Additionally, the bank argued that holding Bitcoin as a reserve asset makes sense from a diversification perspective due to BTC’s low correlation with other assets. This highlights the benefit of Bitcoin performing independently of traditional investments.

Data Confirms Bitcoin’s Low Correlation

Notably, Deutsche Bank Research’s January 2025 asset correlation matrix supports these claims. Specifically, the data shows that Bitcoin maintains minimal correlation with stocks, bonds, and commodities, indicating its role as a hedge against macroeconomic risks.

Image
Bitcoin low correlation with other investments

Essentially, this insight confirms the increasing institutional interest in Bitcoin, as governments, funds, and asset managers seek non-traditional hedges amid economic uncertainty.

Interestingly, Deutsche Bank highlighted that with Bitcoin’s continued price appreciation, holding it as a reserve asset would bolster public finances and offset national debt.

Other Industry Experts’ Commentaries on the Benefits of a U.S. Bitcoin Reserve

Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan has also discussed the potential impacts of the U.S. Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. He believes this reserve reduces the likelihood of the U.S. banning Bitcoin. Specifically, it signals a commitment to the digital asset and recognizes it as an official asset class.

Hougan also anticipates that other countries may follow suit, establishing their own reserves and accelerating global Bitcoin adoption. The U.S. move might prompt nations to act quickly to secure Bitcoin before U.S. purchases drive up prices.

Moreover, Hougan argued that the reserve makes it harder for financial institutions to label Bitcoin as unsuitable, potentially softening the stance of organizations like the European Central Bank, which previously rejected Bitcoin.

Singapore Exchange to Roll Out Bitcoin Futures Contracts

0

The Singapore Exchange has announced plans to offer perpetual futures contracts for Bitcoin to institutional investors by the second half of the year.

Institutional traction towards Bitcoin, the largest cryptocurrency by market cap, has escalated recently. The asset has experienced global interest following the successful launch of the US Bitcoin spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and President Donald Trump’s interest in the industry.

Meanwhile, large financial institutions and nations are beginning to follow the United States’ path to create a market for the pioneering cryptocurrency. Most recently, the largest exchange group in Singapore has announced its plans to launch a Bitcoin product.

Another Exchange to Offer Bitcoin

A Bloomberg report today discloses that the Singapore Exchange (SGX), the largest market platform in Singapore, has announced plans to venture into the crypto derivatives business. The exchange would allow institutions and professional investors to trade Bitcoin futures contracts starting in the second half of 2025.

The institution-only derivative products would allow clients to gain exposure to Bitcoin by betting on the asset’s future price action. Notably, these contracts do not warrant directly holding Bitcoin, offering users a taste of the asset’s liquidity without the hassle of owning it.

Meanwhile, the report revealed that the SGX has sought the approval of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and will launch the perpetual futures product if the regulator consents. Furthermore, the product has an Aa2 rating from Moody’s, offering a trusted alternative for exposure to Bitcoin futures.

The Singapore Exchange’s imminent product reflects a broader adoption of the asset and the broader crypto industry in the city-state. Its largest bank by assets under management (AUM), DBS Bank, recently launched a blockchain-powered banking solution for institutional clients.

Growing Demand for Bitcoin Exposure

Moreover, Bloomberg’s report shows that SGX is not alone in this venture in Singapore. EDX Markets LLC announced in January that it would offer Bitcoin perpetual futures contracts to institutions in the city-state.

These exchanges would compete with prominent derivative platforms like Robinhood, which recently announced plans to expand its services to the city-state this year after acquiring Bitstamp, a MAS-licensed exchange.

Elsewhere, Japan’s Osaka Dojima Exchange is also considering launching the Bitcoin product amid growing global demand for the asset. The trading platform has applied for regulatory approval to launch the futures contracts and could become the first traditional exchange in Asia to offer them.

Strategy Eyes $21B Bitcoin Buy With Preferred Stock Offering

0

Strategy, formerly MicroStrategy, is gearing up to significantly add to its already outsized Bitcoin stash.

On Monday, March 10, Strategy disclosed that it had entered a sales agreement to raise $21 billion by selling 8% of its series A perpetual strike preferred stock STRK.

The firm disclosed that the proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, including buying Bitcoin and for working capital, likely itemized in order of priority judging by the company’s precedents.

Still, the firm noted that the sale of these preferred stocks will occur over a long period, not all at once.

The strike preferred stock, which offers investors regular dividend payments, is one of the most recent capital market tools Strategy has employed to raise capital for Bitcoin purchases.

In addition to this strike preferred stock offering, the firm also regularly offers convertible senior notes, which investors can convert to shares in the firm or cash on maturity.

The recently announced $21 billion offering is likely part of Strategy’s “21/21” plan, which seeks to raise $42 billion through 2027 to acquire more Bitcoin. At the time, the firm disclosed that it intended to raise $21 billion from equity sales and $21 billion from fixed-income securities, including preferred stocks.

Since announcing this “21/21” plan in October 2024, Strategy has unveiled fresh Bitcoin purchases almost weekly but has been uncharacteristically quiet in the past two.

At the time of writing, the firm holds 499,096 BTC worth $40.7 billion, purchased at an average price of $66,380.42. These holdings are 22.86% (roughly $7.6 billion) in profit as Bitcoin trades near three-month lows below $82,000.

Following recent precedent, it won’t be surprising to see Strategy announce fresh Bitcoin purchases by Monday, March 17.

Thailand SEC Approves Tether USDT for Trading and Payments

0

Thailand’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has granted compliance status to Tether (USDT), allowing it to be traded on regulated exchanges within the country.

Tether announced the development today in a press release, noting that the Thai SEC has accepted its USD-pegged stablecoin as “an approved cryptocurrency.”

Following the approval, USDT can be listed and traded on regulated exchanges and accepted for payments.

Thailand’s Crypto Regulation and Adoption

Notably, the approval is part of Thailand’s updated digital asset regulation, which aims to enhance flexibility for crypto-related businesses. The updated regulation, which was finalized last month after public comment, will take effect on March 16, 2025.

Per the announcement, Thailand’s approval of USDT marks a pivotal step in the evolution of the country’s digital asset market.

Thailand ranks among the top crypto-friendly nations, establishing clear and favorable regulations for the industry. Based on its pro-crypto regulations, it ranked 10th in the list of countries with the most crypto adoption.

Tether CEO Reacts

Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino emphasized the significance of the Thailand market to the company’s business.

According to him, the stablecoin issuer is consistently exploring ways to expand its product offerings in Thailand while offering a secure and reliable stablecoin experience for Thai users.

“We prioritize supporting the adoption and long-term success of stablecoins in Thailand. Consequently, we aim to contribute to the growth of the country’s digital asset ecosystem by fostering a strong and sustainable stablecoin infrastructure,” Ardoino added.

Tether’s Latest Strides

In the meantime, Tether has been making significant strides since the beginning of the year. Last month, The Crypto Basic reported that the company offered to acquire the majority stake in Latin American agricultural company Adecoagro.

In January, the leading stablecoin issuer relocated its headquarters to the Bitcoin-friendly country, El Salvador. This comes after Tether acquired a license from authorities in El Salvador to operate as a digital asset service provider.

Thailand’s SEC has approved USDT for trades and payments within the country, making 2025 a memorable year for Tether.

Meanwhile, USDT remains the world’s largest stablecoin by market cap, valued at $142.9 billion at the time of writing. Notably, its approval in Thailand promotes its global significance, particularly in bridging digital economies with traditional systems.

Dogecoin Nears Critical Support as Whale Buying and Active Addresses Surge

0

A Dogecoin price rebound may be imminent as the asset nears a critical support level.

Dogecoin has been locked in a downtrend since mid-December 2024 amid broad market uncertainty. Notably, it has fallen 65% from a high of $0.48434 to as low as $0.16534, nearly erasing all of its Q4 2024 gains. This decline has now brought the asset near a critical line of defense, according to one leading analyst.

Dogecoin Rebound Imminent?

In an X post on Monday, March 10, market analyst Ali Martinez highlighted that Dogecoin was nearing critical support at $0.16.

The $0.16 support level aligns with the bottom of a multi-year ascending channel on the memecoin’s weekly candlestick chart and the 0.786 Fibonacci retracement level.

Martinez noted that holding above this level could signal a “strong rebound.”

Optimism that a rebound is likely has been stoked by key on-chain metrics.

For one, whales on the network have been on a buying spree in the past few days. On Sunday, March 9, Martinez shared Santiment Feed data showing that investors with holdings above 1 billion DOGE had added over 1.7 billion DOGE (worth nearly $300 million at current prices) 72 hours prior. It is important as the activities of these investors typically precede significant market moves.

At the same, network interest appears to be on the rise. Also on Sunday, Martinez highlighted that the number of active addresses on the network surged 270% from 71,750 to 264,000 in the 24 hours prior.

Dogecoin is not without catalysts amid pending spot exchange-traded fund applications. Still, bulls will likely want to see some clarity emerge in current geopolitical conditions, creating an avenue of relief for risk markets like crypto.

Expert Says Selling XRP Now Could Be Biggest Mistake in History, as XRP Holds Above Bull Market Support Band

0

A well-known market analyst confirms that XRP has continued to trade above the pivotal Bull Market Support Band despite the ongoing downtrend.

For context, XRP’s recent downward trend began in February, as the month introduced bearish price action across the broader crypto market. For context, XRP witnessed a 29.33% drop in February after posting an impressive 45.98% increase in January.

The XRP drop is a reflection of the crypto market’s downward movement, with Bitcoin (BTC) recently relinquishing the $90,000 to change hands at the $82K price region at the time of reporting.

XRP Remains Above the BMSB

Meanwhile, despite being a victim of the market-wide collapse, XRP appears to still trade above the Bull Market Support Band (BMSB), according to analyst Steph (@Steph_iscrypto).

The market watcher disclosed this in his latest analysis of XRP’s price movements, suggesting there is no reason to panic. For the uninitiated, the Bull Market Support Band is a momentum indicator used by market participants toidentify whether an asset is in a bullish or bearish phase.

Notably, the band typically consists of the 20-week simple moving average (SMA) and the 21-week exponential moving average (EMA). Particularly, when the price stays above this band, it suggests strong bullish momentum, while dropping below it may indicate weakening trends or a potential bear market.

Data from Steph’s accompanying chart shows XRP still trades above the band. Notably, when its price hovered around the $0.50 to $0.55 range in October 2024, XRP changed hands below the BMSB, suggesting bearish momentum.

XRP Above Bull Market Support Band Steph
XRP Above Bull Market Support Band | Steph

However, upon the impressive price surge on the back of the Donald Trump election victory in November 2024, XRP price pushed above the BMSB, indicating that momentum had flipped bullish. Interestingly, the BMSB also surged as well, now sitting above the pivotal $1.9 price support.

XRP Remains Bullish, Eyes $30 Target

Despite the downward pressure XRP has faced since the start of February, it has maintained a position above this support, essentially holding above the BMSB. Citing the current position, Steph questioned why anyone would actually be bearish on XRP when it has continued to trade above the BMSB.

Specifically, the asset’s position above the crucial indicator confirms that momentum is still bullish and the bull market might not yet be over. Also, while analysts at Standard Chartered predict further downside for Bitcoin, they believe the bull run is still intact and a recovery would ensue.

XRP is likely to ride on this Bitcoin recovery for greater heights. In a separate analysis, Steph called attention to a double bottom structure formed by XRP on the weekly chart. Notably, the first bottom formed when XRP hit a low of $0.1140 in March 2020 and the second bottom formed at $0.2870 in June 2022.

Data suggests XRP has already broken above the neckline of the structure and could be poised for a massive upward push, aligning with the idea that the bull run remains intact. If this pattern holds true, Steph predicts an XRP rally to $30.

According to Steph, this period represents the worst moment in XRP’s history for any investor to sell their holdings. This sentiment conforms with his belief that XRP is gearing up for a massive uptrend. With XRP currently trading for $2.18, a run to $30 would demand a 1,276% increase.

Analyst Who Accurately Predicted Dogecoin Drop Below $0.20 Shares Next Target

0

A prominent analyst has predicted the next major Dogecoin support after it failed to break above the resistance area at $0.20.

Dogecoin is up 6% today as the broader crypto market records a strong start to the new week. Despite the surge, the doggy-themed meme coin has been unimpressive since the beginning of the year.

With a 42% year-to-date decline, DOGE is officially the worst-performing asset in the top 15 cryptocurrencies by market cap. For further perspective, the asset has reclined in six of the eight weeks this year, falling over 30% from its high of $0.2408 last week.

Meanwhile, an analyst who accurately predicted further downsides for Dogecoin has highlighted the probable support the prominent meme coin will likely find solace at.

Further Downside for Dogecoin?

In a TradingView analysis, MadWhale accurately predicted that Dogecoin would break down from the psychological $0.2 resistance area at the top of its descending triangle. Notably, the meme coin lost the level two days ago, capsizing from a high of $0.2011 on March 8 to its current price.

Interestingly, the analyst predicted further downsides, specifically stating that Dogecoin could correct 20% from the resistance area. MadWhale suggested that DOGE’s next target after the rejection is its major daily support at $0.15, an area reinforced by a crucial trendline.

Dogecoin to $015 per MadWhale
Dogecoin to $015 per MadWhale

Notably, the trendline has acted as both supply and demand zones for Dogecoin as it trades within the descending triangle. As a result, the market watcher suggested that the meme coin could find solace at the trendline before pursuing its subsequent price action.

Surge to $2 Still In Play

Meanwhile, despite emerging analysis that DOGE could fall as low as $0.08131 before a price reversal, prominent market speculator Ali Martinez has suggested a possible rebound from this level to $2.

In a recent tweet, he asserted that Dogecoin could surge a staggering 1,044% from its current market price, citing a sustained trend within its multi-year ascending channel.

Martinez highlighted that if the lower support line of the wedge holds at $0.16 and the token bounces from the area, a surge to the 1.272 Fibonacci extension at $2.77 could be next.

Dogecoin to $2/Ali Martinez

Nonetheless, his analysis highlighted that a break below the ascending channel could spark a massive downside. An accompanying chart shows a possible 99% capitulation to $0.00168.

DOGE trades at $0.1741 at press time with a market cap of $26 billion.
