Dogecoin is Starting Its Big Move: Analyst Predicts 2,270% Run to $5

0

Recent analysis suggests the Dogecoin correctional phase is nearing its end, and the asset could be gearing up for a scintillating 2,270% rally.

Dogecoin’s bearishness could be close to an end following a speculated change of trend. The meme coin has suffered immense retraction since the start of the year, performing worse than most high-caliber assets.

However, prominent market analyst CryptoELITES has suggested an imminent rebound is on the horizon. In a recent X post, he predicted a big move for Dogecoin and shared its new target in the near term.

Big Moves for Dogecoin?

CryptoELITES argued that Dogecoin is ready for big moves, with $5 the next target. He cited the asset’s near-end bullish structure retest as a propellant for this 2,270% upswing.

An accompanying chart shows that DOGE broke out of a classical cup-and-handle pattern in November after a face-melting upward trajectory to an intra-month high of $0.4804. However, the asset has since pulled back and consolidated, possibly retesting the structure’s neckline before a bullish continuance.

Dogecoin to $2.7/CryptoELITES

Meanwhile, the analyst stated that a trend reversal is imminent, sharing three targets for the impending DOGE bullishness. His chart shows that the prominent meme coin will soon initiate a 255% uptrend to $0.75, slightly breaching the 2021 all-time high.

Furthermore, he expects the uptrend to persist, surpassing the all-time high with conviction to the second target of $1.5. Ultimately, CryptoELITES predicts a 2,270% rally from the current market price to $5 as the final target for the asset’s breakout from the cup-and-handle structure.

Analyst Shares Even More Bullish Price Outlook

Meanwhile, market watcher Trader Tardigrade has suggested that the $5 target is conservative compared to Dogecoin’s bullish prospects. In a parallel tweet, he asserted a 4,640% surge to $10 per coin this cycle.

Tardigrade stated that DOGE seems to follow its cyclical pattern of a substantial retracement before an ensuing “super huge bull run.” An attached chart shows the doggy-themed meme coin followed a similar pattern in 2017 and 2021, retracing 60% and 56%, respectively.

Dogecoin’s Historical Retracement/Trader Tardigrade

However, the asset surged substantially from there, with an 8,900% and 30,500% price explosion in both years. Tardigrade highlighted that Dogecoin has completed a 57% pullback from its January high and successfully retested the levels from whence it broke structure.

As a result, the asset’s next target is a price upsurge to unprecedented highs. Specifically, his chart shows a 4,640% surge to $10 per coin.

More Bulls Bet on a Dogecoin Rebound

Meanwhile, other analysts have remained bullish on Dogecoin despite recent underperformance. Their focus has been on the asset’s growing institutional adoption and historical performance.

For instance, analyst Dima Potts recently predicted an ambitious 21,227% surge to $45, citing a repeat of Dogecoin’s historical price action. He also cited technological advancement and growing adoption as the basis for the surge.

Furthermore, prominent watcher XForceGlobal suggested Dogecoin has room for another 5-10x surge this cycle. He predicted an uptrend to $9, citing the fifth wave of a multi-year Elliott Wave structure.

Nonetheless, Dogecoin would have to overcome its dwindling network activity to have a chance at this ambitious run. Whale activity and active wallets on its ecosystem have reached multi-month lows amid growing market caution.

In the meantime, Dogecoin trades at $0.211, almost unchanged from its closing price yesterday.

XRP Whales Dump $851 Million as Market Sentiment Worsens

0

XRP whales significantly reduced their holdings amid a major market downturn this week.

Today, XRP has rebounded after the notable Tuesday sell-off, showing a 3.7% increase in the past 24 hours. At press time, XRP is trading at $2.30, a minor turnaround from lows at $2.08.

Despite this short-term recovery, XRP remains down 9.5% over the past week and 19.4% over the past 30 days.

XRP Whales Reduce Holdings

Meanwhile, amid the XRP price decline, market data indicates a sharp reduction in XRP whale holdings. In a tweet, Ali Martinez highlighted that wallets holding between 10 million and 100 million XRP have decreased their portfolio.

The decline started around February 21, when their holdings were at approximately 6.94 billion XRP. By February 25, this figure had dropped to nearly 6.56 billion XRP. Notably, this reflects a reduction of more than 370 million XRP or $851 million within 96 hours, signaling sustained selling pressure among large investors.

Market Sentiment Turns Bearish

Notably, the sentiment across the crypto market remains bearish, with XRP experiencing heightened fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD). A separate analysis from Santiment highlights extreme negativity in trader sentiment, paralleling Bitcoin’s decline to $86,000.

XRP, alongside Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, has seen social commentary largely dominated by pessimism. Historically, such levels of bearish sentiment have coincided with market bottoms, prompting speculation on whether a reversal is imminent.

Potential Oversold Conditions For XRP

Elsewhere, XRP’s open interest-weighted funding rate, a vital market sentiment indicator, turned negative. Throughout January and most of February, the funding rate remained positive. However, most recent data shows a shift, with red bars signaling bearish sentiment.

XRP OI-Weighted Funding Rate
XRP OI-Weighted Funding Rate

Historically, negative funding rates have often preceded price reversals, as excessive shorting can lead to a short squeeze when buying pressure intensifies. Previous occurrences of this trend have seen XRP prices recover shortly after the funding rate turned negative.

The market’s current conditions suggest that a potential reversal could follow if short positions become overly crowded.

Bybit Hackers Launder 45,900 Ethereum in 24 Hours: Here’s How Much ETH Laundered So Far

0

Bybit attackers have laundered 45,900 ETH over the past 24 hours, bringing the total amount of laundered funds to 27% of the stolen funds.

Renowned blockchain sleuth Yujin, also known as EmberCN, revealed this development today in an X post. According to Yujin, the perpetrators, identified as North Korea’s Lazarus Group, laundered 45,900 Ethereum (ETH), worth $113 million, over the past day.

This transaction brought the total amount laundered to 135,000 ETH ($335 million), representing 27.05% of the assets stolen from Bybit. Yujin emphasized that the Bybit hackers still hold 363,900 ETH ($900 million) in their wallets.

Possible Duration to Launder Remaining Funds

Following the rate at which the funds are being converted, the blockchain sleuth forecasted that it could take 8 – 10 days for the remaining ETH to be laundered.

As of yesterday, Yujin claimed the perpetrators may launder the remaining funds within two weeks or a month. This duration has now been reduced to 10 days.

Bybit Hack and Ongoing Laundering Efforts

Recall that Bybit suffered the single largest known theft of any kind, dwarfing the $1 billion Saddam Hussein reportedly stole from Iraq Central Bank in 2003. As previously reported, Lazarus Group siphoned $1.46 billion worth of ERC-20 tokens (498,900 ETH) from Bybit’s cold wallet using malware.

Since the theft, the group has been laundering the funds through THORChain, swapping the stolen assets, like cmETH and stETH, for Ethereum.

In addition, Lazarus Group has also laundered some funds through the instant crypto exchange eXch. According to a recent Elliptic report, $75 million worth of stolen funds was laundered through the platform. This comes after the eXch team rejected Bybit’s request to block the transaction.

mETH Protocol and Tether Recover Some Funds

While eXch refused to block this activity, crypto projects like Tether and mETH Protocol have helped to recover some of the stolen funds.

mETH Protocol announced recently that it recovered 15,000 cmETH (worth about $43 million). Additionally, Tether froze 181,000 USDT stolen from Bybit’s wallet.

With the crypto industry collaborating to recover the stolen funds, the Bybit attackers have been cautious while laundering the assets.

GameStop CEO Confirms Nudge from Strive to Establish Bitcoin Treasury

0

$2 billion asset manager Strive wants GameStop to transition into a Bitcoin treasury company.

On Tuesday, February 25, GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen confirmed that he had received a letter from the Vivek Ramaswamy co-founded asset management firm urging it to purchase Bitcoin with its cash reserves.

The video game retailer at the center of the 2020 and 2021 meme stock craze reported holding $4.6 billion in cash in Q3 2024. On February 13, 2025, it was reported that the firm was considering investing a portion of this stash in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

In Strive’s February 24 letter, CEO Matt Cole expressed excitement at this move but urged GameStop to stick to Bitcoin and ignore other cryptocurrencies.

Cole touted Bitcoin’s unique perception as “digital gold” and brand clarity as reasons for this narrow focus.

The Strive CEO contended that by buying Bitcoin with the majority of its cash reserves and capital marketing funding strategies like convertible debt offerings, GameStop could transform itself “from meme stock to market leader one Bitcoin at a time.”

This Bitcoin-focused treasury strategy has been pioneered by Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), the largest corporate holder of the digital asset. Interestingly, GameStop’s Cohen was pictured with Strategy Chairman and notorious Bitcoin evangelist Michael Saylor earlier in the month.

Strive’s interest in GameStop’s potential crypto play comes as its clients hold shares of the video game retailer through exchange-traded funds. Strive asserted that this gave it “a fiduciary responsibility and a vested interest” in GameStop’s success.

While Strive’s nudge to GameStop has sparked excitement within crypto circles as evidenced by gains in GME memecoins, retail GameStop investors do not appear to be impressed, questioning whether Strive had “enough skin in the game” to make such a suggestion.

Despite this mixed sentiment, implementing Bitcoin treasury strategies has typically led to massive share price gains for firms, at least in the short term, as experts continue to debate long-term risks.

Over 83K More Shiba Inu Investors are in Profit Now Than Last Year Despite Recent Market Slump

0

The number of Shiba Inu investors in profit has only increased over the past year despite the latest crypto market slump.

Notably, the crypto market has continued to navigate bearish pressure despite the prevalent bull market narrative. This situation worsened on Monday, Feb. 24, as the broader market witnessed a massive crash. Shiba Inu (SHIB), the second-largest meme coin, did not escape this onslaught.

SHIB Crashes 11%

Particularly, Shiba Inu recorded an 11.75% price collapse on Monday, marking its biggest intraday loss over the past three weeks. This pushed the meme coin below the $0.000015 and $0.000014 support levels, triggering the emergence of a new, lower support region at $0.000013.

The latest crash marked a near 60% drop from the December 2024 peak of $0.00003343. However, on-chain data indicates that despite the prevalent bearish momentum, Shiba Inu profitability has actually improved over the past year.

Notably, data from IntoTheBlock confirms that more Shiba Inu investors are seeing profit on their holdings than in February 2024. For context, during this time last year, SHIB was observing an improvement in market sentiment, as prices started appreciating, but the meme coin still traded below the pivotal $0.00001 psychological mark.

Shiba Inu Profitability Has Improved Since 2024

At this point, addresses that were witnessing profits on their holdings amounted to 469,650, accounting for 35.15% of the total addresses. Meanwhile, those seeing losses were much greater, numbering 828,050 addresses, about 61.98% of the total. Further, 38,350 addresses, representing 2.87% of total wallets, were at breakeven.

Fast forward to a year later, and profitability has improved despite the ongoing bearish pressure. Despite the crash on Monday, data shows that up to 553,400 Shiba Inu addresses, representing 38.65% of total wallets, are still in profit.

Notably, this indicates that wallets holding SHIB at profit increased by 83,750 over the past year. Moreover, besides the increase in number, which could also have been impacted by a broader rise in wallet addresses, general profitability has improved, currently at 38.65%, as opposed to 35.15% in February 2024.

Also, while addresses seeing losses have also increased in number, their overall percentage has dropped. Particularly, there are about 842,590 addresses in loss currently, but this only represents 58.84% of the total, down from the previous 61.98% from last year. Only addresses at breakeven dropped in number, now totaling 35,900.

Shiba Inu in a Better Position Despite Bearish Sentiment

The current data indicates that amid the bearish sentiments, the market condition has actually improved from last year. Highlighting the recent drop, market veteran Raoul Pal called for patience, noting that in the 2017 cycle, a similar slump occurred with altcoins dropping 65%. However, the market eventually improved.

Meanwhile, Binance co-founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao recently called attention to a previous tweet he made in December 2020, noting that despite improved price performance, some headlines in the future could suggest BTC had “crashed” to $85K. This has materialized.

A similar occurrence is happening with Shiba Inu, which is witnessing bearish sentiments due to a drop to $0.000013 despite trading at a better position than it was a year ago. At press time, SHIB has recovered from the Monday drop, up 6.34% and trading at $0.00001423.

Web3 Expert Exposes New SMS Spoofing Scam Targeting Binance Users

0

Popular Web3 expert Joe Zhou calls the public’s attention to an SMS spoofing scam targeting unsuspecting Binance users.

Zhou issued the crucial alert in a LinkedIn post, revealing how he lost about $200 worth of cryptos through the attack.

Scam Details

Highlighting the deceptive nature of the scam, Zhou revealed that he received a fake security alert through his registered Binance number, claiming someone had logged into his account from North Korea’s capital, Pyongyang. This malicious message contained a phone number to call for assistance.

Binance SMS Spoofing Scam
Binance SMS Spoofing Scam

Zhou panicked after receiving the message based on the timing of the incident, which coincided with Bybit’s $1.46 billion attack. Recall that popular blockchain sleuth ZachXBT identified North Korea’s hackers, Lazarus Group, as the perpetrators of the Bybit hack.

Notably, Zhou immediately called the number in the message. The scammer, who posed as a Binance customer care representative with a British accent, instructed him to set up a SafePal Wallet.

Furthermore, the scammer pressured Zhou to transfer his crypto assets on Binance to the newly created SafePal Wallet, claiming his account was under investigation. After transferring his funds to the wallet, the victim noticed suspicious behavior and immediately contacted his friend Carlos Mak, a Binance staff member, who confirmed he was being scammed.

Consequently, he attempted to transfer his funds from the SafePal Wallet, and the scammer noticed. This resulted in a race to move the funds between them. However, he ran out of gas fees when trying to swap some ERC-20 tokens. Zhou surprisingly received some ETH in the SafePal Wallet, and the asset he intended to swap was stolen immediately.

Overall, he incurred a loss of $200 in an unspecified ERC-20 token. Meanwhile, other Binance users in the comment section also confirmed that they received a similar message recently.

Safety Tips

There has been a rise in SMS Spoofing scams in crypto lately. This tactic involves manipulating the sender ID or SMS gateway relating to a crypto platform to make the message appear legitimate.

As this malicious practice gains momentum, users must conduct due diligence on any SMS requesting urgent action.

Instead of calling numbers attached to the message, users should check the related platform’s official contact details from their website. Most crypto platforms, including Binance, will never ask users to transfer funds to an external wallet. Hence, caution is necessary to avoid falling prey to SMS spoofing scams.

Here’s Why XRP Could Pump 500% as Crypto FGI Drops to Extreme Fear at 25

0

The crypto FGI has again dropped to extreme fear, but historical data suggests XRP might leverage this positioning for a 500% pump.

Market analyst Steph (@Steph_iscrypto) highlighted the situation in a recent post on X. Notably, his commentary came on the back of the latest XRP price crash, triggered by a broader crypto market slump amid macroeconomic concerns in the United States.

For context, despite a mild 1.88% increase yesterday, XRP is also suffering losses over the past few days following a massive 11.6% crash on Monday, Feb. 24.

Crypto FGI Hits 5-Month Low of 25

Expectedly, amid the market turbulence, the crypto Fear and Greed Index (GPI), a tool that measures crypto investor sentiment, dropped to 25 yesterday, Feb. 25, for the first time in five months. For context, the index reads from 0 to 100, with lower values indicating bearish sentiments.

Crypto FGI
Crypto FGI

Steph called attention to the crash yesterday, which brought the index to the “Extreme Fear” level for the first time this year. However, the market analyst highlighted an interesting historical fact associated with XRP and the crypto FGI.

Specifically, the last time the FGI collapsed to 25, signaling Extreme Fear, was in September 2024. At the time, XRP was trading for $0.5249. However, after this drop, prices started recovering and sentiment picked up. XRP witnessed a slight rebound but remained at the mercy of the bears until the U.S. election in November 2024.

Following Donald Trump’s victory, XRP skyrocketed, soaring to reclaim the $1, $2 and $3 psychological levels within four months. At its seven-year peak of $3.4 in January 2025, XRP recorded an impressive 547% increase from its Sept. 9, 2024 price after the FGI hit 25 and recovered.

With similar trends repeating, Steph’s disclosure implies that when prices rebound, XRP could set itself up for another massive upsurge. However, the asset is currently at a better position amid the recent FGI drop to 25, currently trading for $2.29, as opposed to the $0.52 price last September.

XRP RSI and CCI at More Bullish Positions

In addition, a closer look at the daily chart shows that the Relative Strength Index (RSI) and the Commodity Channel Index (CCI), both momentum indicators, are in more bullish positions currently than they were last September. This bolsters the chances of an XRP uptrend.

Particularly, when the FGI hit 25 in September 2024, as XRP traded for $0.52, the RSI stood at 43.52, while the CCI had a value of -91.07. Although these positions did not particularly signal that XRP was extremely oversold, they indicated that the asset still had more room for growth.

XRP RSI and CCI
XRP RSI and CCI

Now, with XRP changing hands at $2.29 and the FGI reading 25, the RSI stands at 37.93, with the CCI hovering around -144.81. Interestingly, the CCI below -100 confirms that XRP is oversold and set for a rebound, while the RSI signals more room for further expansion. These indicators are in more bullish positions.

Should XRP replicate the 500% increase, a rally from the current position would push its price to a new all-time high of $13.74. Notably, Chartered Market Technician Tony Severino suggested last month that XRP was on the verge of claiming a $13 price, citing a bull flag structure.

Former SEC Official Says SEC to Drop Ripple Appeal Next

0

Former SEC official John Reed Stark suggests that the Ripple lawsuit could be next in line for dismissal.

Stark recently shed light on the SEC’s unprecedented retreat from its aggressive enforcement-driven regulation against the crypto industry. He mentioned how the previous SEC leadership introduced several enforcement actions against crypto businesses, labeling several digital assets securities.

Interestingly, as reflected in its recent decisions, the SEC has pulled back to drop some appeals and enforcement actions. For context, it dropped its lawsuit against Coinbase, froze the Binance lawsuit, and dropped its investigation into Uniswap and OpenSea.

The SEC further retreated from its enforcement stance by dropping two appeals, which revolved around whether crypto businesses should be classified as securities dealers. Several crypto associations, including the Crypto Freedom Alliance of Texas and the Blockchain Association, brought the cases.

Despite a federal court finding that the SEC’s expansion of the ‘dealer’ definition extends beyond its legal authority, the commission still appealed the ruling on January 17, a few days before Gary Gensler resigned.

However, under acting chair Mark Uyeda, the SEC recently dismissed the appeal in a one-page notice. An SEC spokesperson suggested that the commission has decided to accept the federal court decision. They added that pursuing the appeal might reduce liquidity in the Treasury market, enhancing its volatility.

SEC Files Five Crypto Litigation Pauses

Following this decision, Stark claimed that the SEC has now frozen five crypto-related enforcement actions in the past few days, setting a new record in the commission.

“Since acting SEC Chair Mark Uyeda took the SEC helm, the SEC has now filed five SEC crypto-litigation ‘Pauses,’” Stark remarked.

Furthermore, he suggested that the SEC aims to grind all crypto-related litigations until its internal crypto task force, led by Commissioner Hester Peirce, concludes its assessment. It bears mentioning that the task force is expected to provide a regulatory framework for crypto.

SEC Could Dismiss Ripple Case Soon

Following the SEC’s dismissals of crypto-related litigation, Stark suggested that the Ripple lawsuit could be the next case to be dismissed.

He explained that the SEC clarified it would not pursue any case arguing that a digital asset is a security until the crypto task force concludes its assessment.

In the meantime, the SEC has not publicly revealed whether it will drop the Ripple appeal anytime soon. However, several experts, including Attorney Jeremy Hogan and Cherry Empress, suggest that the Ripple case is complicated, given that the parties already have a court order.

For context, while the court held that Ripple’s programmatic sales and other distribution of XRP were not securities, it fined the company $125 million for violating the law through its sales to institutional clients. Judge Torres also imposed an injunction on Ripple’s future institutional sales.

Based on this ruling, Empress speculated that the parties could agree to reduce the penalty before dismissing the case.

Recall that the SEC filed its opening appeal brief in the Ripple case less than a week before Gensler’s departure. Ripple will file its response in April 2025.

Binance’s CZ Makes Bold Bitcoin to $1M Claim After Accurately Predicting Crash to $85,000

0

Binance co-founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao has made a bold claim about Bitcoin price after accurately predicting the recent crash to $85,000.

Following Bitcoin’s slump to $85,985 on Tuesday, X users were quick to recall a previouc prediction from Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ), which proved to be accurate.

Particularly, CZ predicted in December 2020, when Bitcoin was trading at around $19,000, that the asset could attain $101,000 and possibly capitulate to around $85,000. However, he suggested the drop to $85,000 could trigger bearish headlines, showing how despite BTC trading at a much higher price than in 2020, sentiments would be down.

Binance Founder CZ on X
Binance Founder CZ on X

Interestingly, this forecast has materialized, with the drop to $85,000 yesterday triggering a crash in the Crypto FGI to Extreme Fear.

Now, CZ has dropped another bullish Bitcoin prediction. Following the fruition of the 5-year prediction, the former Binance CEO predicted an ambitious 1,030% surge from the current market price to $1,001,000 per coin.

CZ’s Ambitious Bitcoin Target

Zhao sought to calm the storms amid the growing market skepticism. His post highlights the potential of Bitcoin to post staggering gains in the long term.

However, the Binance co-founder predicted a retracement to $985,000 after the surge to $1 million and an accompanying pessimistic media headline.

For perspective, despite Bitcoin’s dazzling over 180% surge from as low as $38,000 to the high of $108,000 in 2024, the recent 5% year-to-date retracement has made bearish headlines. Essentially, CZ urges investors to “zoom out” when in doubt.

Just 1.26% Bitcoin Allocation Though

While CZ’s post oozed bullishness on Bitcoin, his portfolio suggests otherwise. The industry leader shared a screenshot of his portfolio on X, showing that he allocated just 1.26% of his funds to the pioneering cryptocurrency.

The shared screenshot on X reveals that the Binance co-founder is fully in on his exchange’s utility token, BNB. CZ’s portfolio comprises 98.57% of the coin, 0.18% of the EURI stablecoin, and 0.03% of USDT.

CZ’s Crypto Portfolio

Meanwhile, his portfolio’s allocation quickly became the subject of discussion, with the 1.126% Bitcoin stash a point of emphasis. However, CZ has responded, noting he is a “boring guy.”

Notably, the screenshot did not reveal the portfolio’s worth; however, a Forbes report suggests he is a crypto billionaire. CZ recently made headlines for releasing his dog’s name and picture, sparking a crypto meme frenzy.

SEC Ends Investigation Into Uniswap Labs Without Charges

0

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has officially concluded its long-running investigation into Uniswap Labs with no enforcement action.

The inquiry, which lasted multiple years, focused on whether the company operated as an unregistered securities exchange, issuing unregistered securities.

Last year, the commission issued a Wells Notice to Uniswap, signaling potential enforcement action. However, the decision to close the case without any charges indicates that the company has not violated existing regulations.

Uniswap Labs Compliance

Uniswap Labs has stated that it operates within the boundaries of all applicable laws. The company emphasized that its platform provides greater market transparency, efficiency, and accessibility.

Furthermore, the company has maintained that its technology strengthens financial markets by removing centralized control and allowing users to retain custody of their assets.

Uniswap believes that the broader DeFi ecosystem may find increased regulatory clarity after the recent SEC decision.

Moreover, it indicated a willingness to engage with regulators and policymakers to establish clear guidelines for DeFi. The company sees constructive discussions as essential to shaping regulations that fit emerging financial models.

SEC’s Approach to Crypto Firms Under Scrutiny

It is important to note that since Mark Uyeda took office as the acting SEC chairman, the agency’s approach toward crypto firms has been more lenient.

Just last week, Robinhood Crypto (RHC) received confirmation from the SEC that no enforcement action would be taken against it.

On February 21, the SEC’s Enforcement Division notified Robinhood of the investigation’s closure. The inquiry stemmed from a Wells Notice issued in May 2024, which suggested potential violations related to the company’s crypto services.

The resolution marks another instance of the SEC stepping back from pursuing legal action against crypto firms.

Meanwhile, Binance and the SEC reached a temporary pause in their legal battle. On February 14, a federal judge in Washington, D.C., approved a 60-day stay in the lawsuit filed against the exchange in June 2023.

The original suit argued that Binance and founder Changpeng Zhao mismanaged customer funds and inflated trading volumes.
