Microsoft wants to know if gamers would like to pay in Bitcoin (BTC) on the Xbox online store. Currently, crypto is not available as a payment option for Xbox, but things may change.
A poll among Xbox users
Tech giant Microsoft seems to be considering introducing BTC payments Xbox online store. According to a March 21 Reddit message on r/XboxSeriesX, Microsoft conducted a survey asking Xbox users about their favorite payment options in the online store.
A question in the survey reads, “Which of these other payment methods would you like to use on Xbox?” Here Bitcoin is listed as one of the possible payment methods. The same photo also circulates in several other subreddits, including r/ethtrader and r/Bitcoin.
An Xbox user said that the survey is available if you participate in the Xbox Insider Program for OS update beta testing.

In 2014, Microsoft began accepting Bitcoin to finance Microsoft accounts. This allowed users in the United States to purchase Windows products, including games for the Xbox. After a brief cessation of the BTC payment option, Microsoft resumed Bitcoin payments for its Microsoft Store. Cryptocurrency payments are currently not supported in Xbox’s online store.
Microsoft may accept Bitcoin as payment, But it has no concrete plans to make a more significant move into crypto like Tesla. Tesla President Brad Smith said the company had no plans to diversify in cryptocurrency after Tesla’s $ 1.5 billion investment in Bitcoin.
