UEFA has become the latest football competition organizer to join the Socios.com fan token initiative.
Socios.com, a leading blockchain startup tokenizing fan engagement globally, has announced that it has inked a global licensing and regional sponsorship deal with major football competition organizer UEFA.
Announcing the development in a blog post today, the deal will see Socios.com become the official licensing partner of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and the UEFA Europa Conference League, as well as the UEFA Super Cup.
Furthermore, Socios.com will be the regional sponsorship partner for both the Champions League and the Europa League from the 2021 to 2024 cycle in the United States.
Under the deal, Socios will enjoy a series of brand exposures via stadium LCD screens, sponsorship billboards, and United States-based sponsorship rights.
Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA marketing director, said the European football competition organizer was looking for innovative partnerships, especially in the crypto and blockchain markets, adding that it is glad to have partnered with Socios.com.
“With rich experience working with some of the top sports organizations around the world, it is clear that partnering with Socios.com is an ideal fit,” Epstein noted.
As part of the deal, UEFA noted that it would reward fans, token holders, on the Socios.com platform in various ways, such as VIP trips to its season kick-off events, a visit to UEFA’s headquarters, match tickets, merchandise, and an opportunity to meet with several UEFA legends.
Commenting on the development, Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO of Socios.com, said the recent partnership illustrates both partners’ commitment to embracing innovative technology that will enhance fan engagement in sports, adding:

Socios Partnerships With Sporting Organizations
According to Socios, since it launched, it has partnered with 124 sporting organizations, including football, basketball, baseball, etc.
In May 2022, Socios entered into a strategic partnership with Turkish football club Bursaspor to help the team release its fan token.
