Cardano has set a new transaction record after processing 1,780,896 transactions during Epoch 660, according to blockchain explorer Cexplorer.io.
The figure surpasses the previous record of 1,566,974 transactions recorded in Epoch 304. Cexplorer reported that the latest epoch also generated ₳337.72K in transaction fees, with each block containing an average of 83.83 transactions.
The milestone highlights increased transaction activity on the Cardano mainnet amid recent price action of the ADA token.
Cardano Mainnet Passes 125 Million Transactions
The new record follows another milestone reported by Cexplorer on October 9, when Cardano surpassed 125 million processed transactions on its mainnet.
At the time, Epoch 660 had already added 986,787 transactions to the network’s cumulative total. The epoch subsequently recorded 1,780,896 transactions, according to Cexplorer’s latest update.
The figures point to continued on-chain activity as Cardano processes transactions across successive epochs. Meanwhile, total transaction counts do not necessarily represent unique users, as one user or application can generate multiple transactions.
Epoch 660 Generates ₳337.72K in Fees
Cexplorer’s data also provides insight into Cardano’s network activity during Epoch 660, which ran from October 6 to October 11, 2026. The epoch processed nearly 1.8 million transactions across 21,243 blocks, generating approximately ₳337,720 in fees. Average fees stood at around ₳0.19 per transaction.
For comparison, Epoch 659 processed 158,011 transactions and generated ₳49.49K in fees, while Epoch 658 recorded 159,916 transactions and ₳53.51K in fees.
These figures show that Epoch 660 recorded a much higher transaction count than the preceding epochs shown in Cexplorer’s data. The difference reflects a change in transaction activity during the period.
Is ADA’s Price Fueling Record Transaction Activity?
Notably, the milestone comes amid increased interest in ADA’s next price move. For context, ADA has surged by 20.55% over the past 30 days, while Bitcoin has gained only 8% over the same period.
ADA currently trades at $0.2515, representing a substantial gain of 82.5% from Cardano’s June low of $0.1387. The token even briefly touched $0.2824 before retracing slightly.
Now, many market watchers are looking to see ADA reclaim the $0.30 level and advance into the $0.40 range and beyond.
Essentially, these impressive price movements may be contributing to the ongoing record in Cardano’s on-chain activity.
Meanwhile, whether the higher transaction count continues in subsequent epochs will help determine whether this was an isolated increase or part of a sustained change in network usage.
