$1M Worth of XRP Still Costs $1M: Ripple CTO Says XRP is Widely Available, But Crypto Payment Adoption Remains Limited

0

David Schwartz, the Ripple CTO, has reiterated his stance on XRP pricing and its role in payments.

His latest comments emerged in response to an investor questioning XRP’s underwhelming price performance since 2017. In the recent commentary, he further discussed how XRP has not realized its full potential in payment systems, despite widespread availability and favorable features.

Ripple CTO Remains Firm

Recall that, in a conversation dating back to November 2017, Schwartz had argued that XRP cannot remain cheap if it is to function effectively as a medium for high-value payments.

He pointed out that regardless of whether XRP trades at $1 or $1 million, the cost of a $1 million transaction would still be equivalent to $1 million. However, he added that higher prices would facilitate cheaper payments.

A higher-priced XRP would reduce the market impact of transactions, making them more efficient and practical for large transfers, a quality that was harder to achieve when XRP traded for mere cents.

At the time of this conversation in 2017, XRP’s price hovered between $0.17 and $0.28. Fast forward to 2024, and while the cryptocurrency has experienced substantial volatility, it is currently trading at around $0.54. This modest 92% increase stands in contrast to Bitcoin, which has surged by more than 500% over the same period.

Understandably, this has caused frustration among some investors, leading one to sarcastically remark that XRP is still “dirt cheap” despite Schwartz’s earlier assertions.

Schwartz responded to the comment by maintaining his original argument: the cost of using XRP for payments scales proportionally with its price. As a result, whether XRP trades for $1 or higher, the end result in large-scale transactions remains the same. Higher prices simply make payments less disruptive to the market.

XRP is Widely Available, but Crypto Payment is Limited

Meanwhile, an XRP community member accused Schwartz of sidestepping the issue. The community figure argued that XRP’s continued low price suggested that Ripple had not achieved its goal of positioning the cryptocurrency as a key player in payments.

However, Schwartz remained firm. He pointed out that while XRP’s price may not have skyrocketed, the altcoin boasts several advantages that make it ideal for payments: wide availability, a top-five position by market cap, low transaction fees, and rapid confirmation times.

Despite these advantages, Schwartz acknowledged that XRP, like most cryptocurrencies, is not widely used for payments today. He explained that this lack of adoption is not unique to XRP. Instead, it is a broader industry trend.

The Ripple CTO confirmed that there are reasons behind this slow adoption but failed to mention them. However, some have argued that some of these reasons include the complexities involved in integrating digital currencies into traditional financial systems as well as regulatory hurdles.

Elon Musk Directly Mentions XRP For the First time

0

Famous American businessman and owner of microblogging platform X Elon Musk directly mentions XRP for the first time.

Musk mentioned the seventh-biggest cryptocurrency by market cap in a viral video making rounds on Crypto Twitter.

In the video, the owner of X was asked to comment on whether he thinks XRP could be integrated into the global financial system in the future, particularly in light of the SEC’s punitive nature toward cryptos.

Responding, Musk expressed a general opinion about the role of cryptocurrencies, including XRP, emphasizing that they serve as valuable assets against centralized control.

However, he specifically mentioned that his comment “is not an endorsement or lack of endorsement for XRP.” Nonetheless, he believes that the nature of cryptos, like XRP, promotes individual freedom.

First Time Mentioning XRP

This marks the first time Musk has publicly commented on XRP in his speech. It is worth mentioning that members of the XRP community have been calling Musk’s attention to the asset on X to get his endorsement.

Despite not directly mentioning XRP, Musk has reacted to some developments regarding Ripple. In October 2022, he expressed shock at the news that the SEC had released the drafts of William Hinman’s infamous Ethereum speech to Ripple. Reacting to this development, the businessman tweeted, “No way.” A few months later, Musk also approved a podcast regarding Ripple’s partial victory against the securities regulator.

Reacting to this development, the businessman tweeted, “No way.” A few months later, he also approved a podcast regarding Ripple’s partial victory against the securities regulator.

However, the American billionaire has refused to mention XRP directly in any of his X posts. Musk’s loyalty lies with the world’s largest memecoin, Dogecoin (DOGE). Interestingly, he has publicly endorsed DOGE in multiple tweets, especially in the 2020/2021 bull market.

His endorsement of DOGE contributed to pushing the token to an all-time high in 2021. Despite being a Dogecoin enthusiast, he has mentioned Bitcoin (BTC)) and Ethereum (ETH) on certain occasions. Notably, this is the first time Musk has directly mentioned XRP in a comment.

If Shiba Inu Hits $0.0003 or $0.003, Here is How Much $1,000 Investment Will Rise

0

Shiba Inu Investors could witness impressive returns on their $1,000 investments if Shiba Inu reaches certain price milestones.

The crypto market is currently showing signs of a gradual recovery, and Shiba Inu looks to ride on this campaign. With Bitcoin (BTC) having breached the $68,000 territory, on track to claim $69,000, SHIB has also reclaimed the $0.000018 region, solidly trading above it.

Shiba Inu Long-Term Holders Surge

Currently changing hands at $0.00001899, Shiba Inu is now retesting the $0.000019 price territory. A confident breach of this level could set the stage for a greater price appreciation. This current position has rekindled confidence among long-term investors, who expect substantial returns on their holdings.

Data from IntoTheBlock indicates that while Cruisers (those holding SHIB between 1 and 12 months) and Traders (those holding SHIB for less than a month) have gradually reduced their balances, Hodlers (investors holding SHIB for over a year) have increased in number.

Notably, the number of Traders has dropped from 26,180 on Sept. 1 to the current figure of 25,660. Similarly, Cruisers amounted to 263,640 as of Sept. 1. However, this figure has shrunk to 257,950 at the reporting time.

Meanwhile, in a contrasting trend, Hodlers have increased from 1.06 million on Sept. 1 to 1.07 million at the time of writing. Also, the total number of Shiba Inu addresses has steadily risen over the past year, with the meme coin seeing an addition of 60,000 addresses since October 2023.

Returns on $1,000 if SHIB Hits $0.0003 or $0.003

One of the major reasons behind this increase is optimism in Shiba Inu’s ability to replicate part of its 2020/2021 run, which transformed $12 to $1 million. Further data shows that wallets holding between $100 and $1,000 in SHIB have spiked to 384,040, the second largest tier of addresses.

Should Shiba Inu reach certain price targets, these investors could witness massive returns. For instance, in July, a Forbes report predicted that SHIB could hit $0.0003 between 2024 and 2025. In addition, a market analyst projected in June that Shiba Inu could reach $0.003 if BTC clinches $150,000.

Investors with $1,000 worth of SHIB would see an appreciation in their bags if $0.0003 or $0.003 materializes. These investors currently hold 52.65 million SHIB tokens. If Shiba Inu spiked to the $0.0003 target, the tokens would surge to $15,797, bringing in returns of more than $14K.

Meanwhile, if the $0.003 target plays out, a more substantial return would materialize. Notably, should Shiba Inu hit $0.003, the 52.65 million tokens would grow to $157,977. This translates to a profit of over $156K. However, it bears mentioning that these targets remain speculative as of press time.

Here are Potential Timelines for XRP to Hit $100, $500 and $1000

0

Despite the ambitious nature of some XRP targets, several entities have predicted timelines for the altcoin to claim these price levels.

XRP has continued to battle the bears at crucial price regions amid the ongoing market uncertainty. Despite underperforming in respect to the rest of the market, XRP managed to soar to a yearly peak of $0.74 in March 2024. However, it quickly collapsed from this high as the broader market corrected.

Investor Optimism Despite Market Turbulence

So far, XRP has failed to recapture the 2023 top of $0.93 amid the ongoing bull phase. The altcoin has also continued to trade beneath the pivotal $1 mark since December 2021. However, this persistent underperformance has not investor confidence among market commentators.

As a result, XRP has been the subject of several bullish price predictions. While some of these predictions have been more moderate and realistic, such as the $4 target or the $6 goal, others have been rather ambitious, with a few looking out for an XRP price of $100, $500 and even $1,000.

For instance, market analyst Levi Rietveld predicted last month that XRP could rally to $100 if Bitcoin clinches the $1.5 million target projected by MicroStrategy Chairman Michael Saylor. In June, Edoardo Farina, XRP Healthcare’s Head of Social Adoption, argued that a $500 price could be a bargain for XRP in the next five years.

Meanwhile, several analysts have tried to discuss possible triggers of an XRP rise to $1,0000. However, investors have remained largely skeptical. Amid this skepticism, market commentator Crypto Tank contended last month that the $1,000 goal is not unrealistic.

Projected Timelines for XRP to Hit $100, $500 and $1,000

As these bold predictions rock the XRP community, with conflicting opinions on their feasibility, we sought the outlook of two AI chatbots, Grok AI and ChatGPT on possible timelines for XRP to reach these targets.

In its response, Grok AI confirmed that predicting when XRP could hit $100, $500 or $1,000 is challenging and would largely involve pure speculation. However, the chatbot sees XRP reaching $100 from 2025 to 2028, if it can command improved liquidity, pivotal partnerships and witness regulatory clarity.

However, Grok AI noted that for XRP to hit $500, it would need to witness a drastic change in its valuation metrics. It noted that a possible catalyst for this price would rest on XRP seeing adoption in the global payment scene or another major factor to boost utility. Citing these, Grok AI expects XRP to hit $500 beyond 2030.

Interestingly, the AI chatbot also discussed the possibility of the $1,000 price. It admitted that XRP clinching this level would be an extraordinary feat that would require the altcoin to be a reliable store of value. It predicts a $1,000 XRP price beyond 2030, specifically 2035 or later than that.

ChatGPT’s Response

Meanwhile, ChatGPT sees XRP hitting $100 in 3 to 5 years for its optimistic projection and 7 to 10 years from a conservative point of view. The chatbot further predicts a $500 price for XRP in the next 7 to 10 years for its optimistic projection. However, it believes the more conservative projection for the $500 target is 15+ years.

Lastly, ChatGPT expects XRP to clinch $1,000 in the next 15 years or beyond from an optimistic point of view. However, in its conservative tone, the chatbot noted that the $1,000 price is uncertain. It bears mentioning that these projections are not investment advice, as XRP might never reach some of these targets.

Shiba Inu to Reach $0.000053865 If It Matches Ethereum Market Cap

0

Shiba Inu could hit a new all-time high (ATH) and surge to the $0.0005 price territory if it captures Ethereum’s market capitalization.

Shiba Inu is still trying to recover from last month’s losses, which plunged its market cap to a low of $7.5 billion. The token is one of the major beneficiaries of the latest relief rally witnessed across the broader crypto market.

Investors Expectations Soar Amid Recent Price Spike

At the current price of $0.00001923, Shiba Inu is up 4.3% in the past 24 hours and 7.17% in the past week. In addition, Shiba Inu’s price has also increased by 34.84% in the monthly charts.

This recent surge boosted Shiba Inu’s valuation to $11,357,193,493 ($11.35 billion), cementing SHIB’s position as the 13th-biggest crypto by market cap.

Shiba Inu’s incredible performance has left its community members with high expectations, especially as investors anticipate the second phase of the bull market.

For context, the 2020/2021 bull market ended positively for Shiba Inu. Notably, SHIB’s price surged by over 150 million percent in 14 months, pushing the token to an all-time high of $0.00008845.

Although most proponents do not expect Shiba Inu to replicate its 2021 performance in the second phase of the 2024/2025 bull run, they believe the token’s value could soar massively, potentially capturing Ethereum’s (ETH) market cap.

SHIB Price If It Matches Ethereum Valuation

Ethereum is the second-largest cryptocurrency, with a market cap of $317,410,944,934 ($317.44 billion) at press time. Therefore, Shiba Inu would have a market cap of $317.44 billion if it captured Ethereum’s market valuation.

At this market cap, SHIB would trade at $0.00053865 per token, assuming its circulating supply remains constant at 589.26 trillion. Should this become a reality, a portfolio of 2 billion SHIB would be valued at $1.07 million. Acquiring these 2 billion tokens at the current rate of $0.00001923 would cost $38,460.

Shiba Inu’s Potential Surge to $0.0005

Several analysts have projected that Shiba Inu will surge to $0.0005 in the future. In May, market observer Big Mike forecasted that Shiba Inu was trading in a complex web structure that could potentially take its price to $0.0005059.

Additionally, experts at Changelly set an ambitious target of $0.000519 for Shiba Inu. According to these analysts, Shiba Inu will clinch the target by May 2033, nine years from now.

Meanwhile, hitting the $0.00053865 requires Shiba Inu to rally 2,701% from its current price. Hence, it is not certain that Shiba Inu will ever reach the target in its lifetime.

Nonetheless, Shiba Inu has witnessed significant gains in the past, as seen in the 2020/2021 bull market. History could repeat itself, and Shiba Inu might embark on another significant rally to the $0.0005 level, especially as the ecosystem team rolls out more use cases for the cryptocurrency.

So far, Shiba Inu’s utility cuts across various sectors, including fungible and non-fungible tokens, metaverse, gaming, exchange, and NFT marketplace, among others.

Pundit Shares Most Important Advice for XRP Investors Amid Ripple’s Latest Humanitarian Partnership

0

Ripple’s newly announced alliance with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) has sparked significant interest among members of the XRP community.

Blockchain analyst Lory has weighed in, calling this collaboration a major development with long-term potential. She also offered what she describes as her “most important” advice for XRP holders in light of this new partnership.

Details of Ripple’s Latest Partnership

On October 16, Ripple disclosed its latest alliance with the IRC. The partnership aims to leverage Ripple’s cross-border payments solutions and the upcoming RLUSD stablecoin to improve the delivery of humanitarian aid.

Ripple has committed a $1 million, multi-year grant to explore how blockchain technology, including the XRP Ledger (XRPL), can streamline cash relief programs and cross-border transfers, particularly in crisis-affected regions where traditional banking services are limited.

The IRC operates in over 40 countries and has a strong track record of delivering aid. Specifically, it has provided over $70 million in vouchers and cash relief.

Additionally, the partnership comes in response to the UN’s estimate that 360 million people require assistance due to global crises. Ripple and the IRC aim to study how blockchain solutions can transform aid delivery, making it faster, more secure, and more accessible.

What’s in It for XRP Holders?

According to Lory, this new partnership underscores the growing role of Ripple’s technology in addressing real-world challenges. Notably, Ripple’s global payments network, powered by the XRP Ledger, could offer a faster and more secure way to deliver aid in difficult environments.

“This partnership shows the potential for Ripple’s blockchain solutions to be adopted on a massive scale,” Lory said.

However, Lory also advised investors to remain mindful of possible hidden agendas within some humanitarian organizations.

Her core message to XRP investors is to trust the technology and the intuition that led them to invest in XRP and Ripple’s solutions. Accordingly, she urged investors to stay aware of the various ways this technology can be utilized.

“Your XRP is solid; its value is beyond imagination,” Lory said, emphasizing the significance of critical thinking.

Shiba Inu Appreciates Its Developers for Transforming SHIB to a Utility Token

0

Shiba Inu’s ecosystem team takes a moment to appreciate its developers for transforming SHIB into a utility token.

The team also invited members of its community to recognize and celebrate Shiba Inu’s developers for their remarkable contributions.

Devs Transform SHIB From Memecoin to Utility Token

Furthermore, the team attached a meme to the tweet demonstrating how the developers have addressed the claim that Shiba Inu is just a memecoin.

Notably, it highlighted some key projects within the Shiba Inu ecosystem, indicating that Shiba Inu is no longer a memecoin. They include Shiba Inu’s Layer-2 blockchain Shibarium, ShibaSwap decentralized exchange, the Web3 game Shiba Eternity, and the ecosystem mobile game Agent Shiboshi.

Other projects featured in the list include Shiba Inu’s metaverse project SHIB: The Metaverse, the cryptocurrency’s media outlet The Shib Daily, and Shib Name Service (SNS).

Community Thanks Top Devs Shytoshi Kusama and Kaal Dhairya

Following the call, several community members took to the comment section to thank Shiba Inu’s developers for their immense contributions to transforming the cryptocurrency into a utility token.

Some users specifically mentioned the names of top developers like Shytoshi Kusama and Kaal Dhairya, as well as other developers working behind the scenes to make Shiba Inu great.

Shiba Inu Transition From a Memecoin to a Utility Token

It is common knowledge that Shiba Inu launched as a memecoin in August 2020. However, this changed a couple of months after the token launched.

At the time, the team introduced its Woofpaper, disclosing plans to introduce multiple projects that could transform the cryptocurrency into a utility token. Currently, most of these projects, such as SHIB: The Metaverse, an L3 privacy blockchain, and SHIB Marketplace, are still being developed.

Nonetheless, others, including ShibaSwap and Shibarium, have already gone live and are fully operational. The success of Shiba Inu can be attributed to the relentless efforts of its vibrant developers. Hence, Shiba Inu’s ecosystem team believes they deserve to be appreciated for their remarkable contributions.

Analyst Expects a 100% Shiba Inu Surge to $0.00003852

0

Crypto analyst MMBTtrader insists that Shiba Inu has further uptrend prospects, expecting a 100% surge to levels last seen in early March.

Bitcoin’s bullish pull has overshadowed Shiba Inu’s gradual price uptrend. For context, Bitcoin reclaimed $69,000 on Friday but could not sustain the uptrend, settling still above $68,000.

Notably, the premier crypto asset has surged over 9% in the past seven days, outperforming all crypto assets in the top 13 rankings, except Dogecoin, which is up 30% in the same timeframe.

But Shiba Inu has not performed badly, either. The dog-themed memecoin has appreciated 8.18% in the past week despite Bitcoin’s surging market dominance.

Meanwhile, analyst MMBTtrader has asserted a further bullish push in the Shiba Inu price, targeting a 100% surge to $0.00003852. The market commentator noted that he expects SHIB to reach his price target and surge even further, citing bullish momentum on the token’s chart.

Shiba Inu Poised for a 100% Surge

In MMBTtrader’s TradingView analysis, he noted that Shiba Inu has surged 100% from his support at $0.000011 on the daily timeframe. Notably, the altcoin approached the price range in early August and September before bouncing from the demand zone.

The analyst earlier noted that SHIB would surge 200% from support, targeting $0.00003852. Notably, SHIB has trended upwards from the analyst’s support to its current price of $0.00001925, representing a 75% uptick.

With SHIB already 75% from MMBTtrader’s entry price, he insisted that the meme coin still has sufficient bullish momentum to reach his target and even surge to higher prices.

However, the analyst’s chart shows he does not expect a linear price thrust to $0.00003852. According to his chart, SHIB will surge in higher highs and higher lows, first with an uptrend to May’s highs at $0.000028, then a correction to September’s highs at $0.000021 before a push to his final price target.

Analyst Presents Conflicting Price Speculation

While MMBTtrader expects a bullish push to $0.00003852 for SHIB, another analyst shares a conflicting price outlook. Analyst SwallowPremium asserted that Shiba Inu will continue its bullish uptrend to September’s highs at $0.0000216, followed by a 35% correction to $0.000014075.

The market speculator noted that the price analysis would be confirmed if SHIB falls to $0.0000195 after the rejection at $0.0000216. He stated that the $0.0000195 region was the ideal zone to open a short position, expecting a further downtrend.

However, his analysis warns that the token will surge to higher prices if it trends above the $0.0000216 zone. Notably, this price assertion correlates with another speculation by analyst Jack.

In an analysis, Jack’s chart suggested that Shiba Inu will push to $0.000027 if it successfully withstands the $0.0000216 resistance. Notably, the meme coin was rejected at the resistance in late September.

Meanwhile, SHIB trades almost 11% away from the resistance at press time, exchanging hands at $0.00001925 at press time.

Report: Chris Larsen’s 2.75B XRP Could Soon Support Ripple ODL as Supply Tightens

0

Amid a drop in XRP’s market supply, a pundit speculates that Ripple Chairman Chris Larsen’s 2.75 billion XRP could go into supporting ODL (now Ripple Payments).

XRPWallets, a community-driven X account dedicated to tracking flows around ODL, discussed this in a recent post. Notably, the latest commentary came on the back of the gradual movements of the XRP tokens transferred from one of Larsen’s wallets last month.

Chris Larsen Moves 50M XRP

Recall that The Crypto Basic confirmed in mid-September that the Larsen address moved out 50 million XRP. This transaction was noteworthy, as it marked the first significant outflow from the wallet since its activation eleven years ago.

Some commentators suggested the transaction could be a product of a security breach, but The Crypto Basic debunked this, citing data from on-chain movements. Shortly after, the recipient of the 50 million XRP tokens began shuffling the assets, eventually sending 20 million to exchanges.

XRPWallets had continued to track the remaining assets, confirming that more XRP tokens had moved to exchanges since then. Now, on-chain data shows that only 5 million tokens remain, following the recent movement of 10 million XRP to Binance.

Interestingly, these movements contribute to the sustained reduction of XRP supply in the open market, a trend that the XRPWallets account has continued to track. Notably, the resource has observed that Ripple persistently purchases XRP from the open market to power its Ripple Payments (ODL) service.

Ripple Buys XRP for ODL

For context, Ripple has confirmed that it typically buys back XRP from the open secondary market to leverage it as a bridge asset for cross-border settlements. The Crypto Basic revealed in January that about 50% of Ripple’s ODL transactions use XRP.

Meanwhile, following its partnership with Ripple for Payment services, U.S.-based crypto exchange Uphold also stressed that it would purchase XRP from the open market for these services.

Amid the increase in XRP purchases from the secondary market, XRPWallets speculates that XRP could continue to witness drying supply in the open market.

As this pattern plays out, the tracking resource suggests that Ripple could turn to Larsen’s XRP holdings as the source of XRP tokens for its ODL service. However, it is important to note that this remains speculative at press time, with no official confirmation.

It bears mentioning that the Ripple co-founders, including Larsen, received a portion of the XRP supply from the outset. While Jed McCaleb has emptied his balance, others like Larsen have continued to HODL most of their tokens.

Notably, data from XRPScan indicates that Larsen currently holds 2.75 billion XRP across six different wallets. Four of these wallets each hold 500 million XRP, while the fifth one possesses 450 million tokens, after transferring out the 50 million XRP last month. The sixth address holds 300 million tokens.

Expert Says XRP Free to Run, Price Suppression Is Over

0

Zach Rector, a widely followed commentator in the XRP community, has boldly asserted that the “suppression” in the price of XRP is over and that the token is free to soar astronomically.

Rector shared this sentiment in his latest commentary on X after observing XRP’s price action on Friday, following the SEC’s formal appeal application filed with the court. He emphasized that XRP’s price did not react substantially negatively to the news of the SEC’s formal appeal compared to historical occurrences.

Indeed, XRP maintained a stable price at around $0.54 throughout Thursday and Friday, even amidst heightened discussion within the XRP community regarding the details of the SEC’s appeal.

As of press time, XRP continues to trade around the $0.54 price point, showing no notable gains or declines. This stability contrasts sharply with the historical price drops during the SEC’s legal actions.

XRP Historical Performance Amid SEC Action

On October 2, XRP traded at a daily peak of $0.6058 but plummeted to $0.5101 by October 3 following the public disclosure of the SEC’s decision to appeal. However, XRP’s price rebounded by October 4 despite the SEC’s further steps to lodge the appeal against Ripple in the Second Circuit court system.

Meanwhile, the crash in 2020, triggered by the SEC’s initial lawsuit filing, was more dramatic and prolonged. On December 20, 2020, XRP’s price was $0.5678, but it plummeted 61% to $0.2214 by December 23.

The decline accelerated as exchanges began to delist XRP. By the end of December, the price had fallen to $0.1748—a staggering 70% drop from its initial value.

XRP Price “Suppression Is Over”

Given that XRP experienced minimal loss on Friday amid the latest legal action related to Ripple, Zach Rector argued that it clearly indicates that the suppression of XRP’s price is over.

He emphasized that there is no reason why XRP should not participate in this season’s bull market, especially as its legal status is now clearer. Furthermore, the SEC is not appealing the ruling that XRP is not a security, as that matter has been settled. In his words, “No more excuses; it is time for XRP to shine.”
