Bitcoin Cracks $65K as Dormant 1,379 BTC Worth $86M Re-enters Circulation

0

Dormant Bitcoin re-enters circulation, highlighting major whale transactions and increased on-chain activity.

Today, Bitcoin’s price experienced a significant jump, climbing above $64,000 after trading below $60,000 last week. This sudden increase has positioned the crypto towards its next critical level beyond $65,000. Despite attempts by market bears to keep the price down, the bulls have remained in control.

However, on the heels of these notable fluctuations is the movement of previously dormant Bitcoin into circulation, with several large transactions recorded by on-chain trackers.

Dormant Bitcoin on The Move

One of the most striking developments in recent days has been the re-emergence of long-inactive Bitcoin. On October 13, data from CryptoQuant confirmed that 1,379 BTC, worth approximately $86.3 million, was moved for the first time in several years.

Maartunn, a market watcher at CryptoQuant, called attention to this development in an update.

Maartunn noted that the moved Bitcoin had remained untouched for 5 to 7 years. Even though these significant transfers occurred, there wasn’t an immediate price reaction until October 14, when Bitcoin crossed the $64,000 mark.

Historically, movements of dormant Bitcoin have been linked with potential price shifts, with inactive investors becoming active again. At press time, Bitcoin briefly touched $65,050 but now hovers around $64,800 amid a pullback.

Major Whale Transactions Recorded

In addition to dormant BTC movements, October 14 saw substantial whale activity. Whale Alert, a platform that tracks large cryptocurrency transactions, reported a transfer of 1,133 BTC (approximately $72.6 million) to Binance from an unknown wallet.

The sender made several smaller transactions of 50 BTC each, with the total amounting to 1,149 BTC. While these whale movements did not immediately affect Bitcoin’s price, they represent a growing trend of high-value transactions.

On-Chain Metrics Show Increased Activity

Additionally, data from Santiment shows that on October 9, the BTC network recorded $37.4 billion in daily on-chain transactions, the highest since March 2024.

A key driver of this surge is the “Age Consumed” metric, which tracks the movement of older, inactive Bitcoin. This indicator saw a sharp increase last week, suggesting a substantial portion of the transaction volume came from previously untouched BTC.

Among the significant transactions contributing to this volume was the movement of 250 BTC, worth $15.7 million, from Binance. This transaction, made by a whale who had accumulated over 10,000 BTC earlier, added to the growing on-chain volume.

Cardano Founder Says ‘Yes’ to ADA Price Surge Solving All Cardano Problems

0

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson reacted to an X post asking if an ADA pump would solve all of Cardano’s problems.

The Cardano network has faced a series of FUD in recent times. Some of this FUD has come in the form of comments that the ecosystem was dead.

Meanwhile, others have classified Cardano as a “low integrity shitcoin,” while some argue that the ecosystem prevented users from devesting. Amid these criticisms, the ecosystem and its founder have come under intense reproval.

Notably, most of the criticisms stemmed from ADA’s lackluster performances. For context, the 11th largest crypto asset has failed to trade above $1 since April 2022. ADA’s closest run to a dollar in over two years was its push to $0.8 in March.

In a recent remark, Hoskinson expressed belief that a price pump will end all the criticism Cardano has faced recently. The founder responded with a “Yes” GIF to an X post asking if the network’s problems will go away should ADA appreciate.

Possible Trigger

Hoskinson replied to a post from a self-acclaimed Chief Meme Officer within the Cardano community. Following the response, Mintern asked who was going to pump the ADA price.

Notably, analysts have speculated an impeding Cardano surge, giving different price targets. One of the most recent notable predictions is Dam Gambardello’s bet that the asset would trade at $0.5 by the end of October.

The market speculator placed 1,000 ADA on the line, noting he would give it to a user if Cardano failed to trade at $0.5 by month’s end. Notably, he didn’t pinpoint the reasons behind the 29% price surge call.

Hoskinson’s Incessant Cardano Defense

Despite the growing FUD around the Cardano network, Hoskinson has always defended the ecosystem. Recently, the founder noted that Cardano has continued to thrive despite the widespread speculation that it was dead.

Hoskinson stated that the new governance system in the Voltaire era is capable of implementing all the required adoption and drastically boost Cardano.

He noted that most grievances against the blockchain are due to unexplored roadmaps and unfunded growth strategies, insisting that the new governance will resolve.

Furthermore, Hoskinson stated that Cardano was the best crypto network and one of the few that is not the “patron of BlackRock and Wall Street for number go up preferences.”

Ethena (ENA) Token Surges 33% Amid New Proposals: Will the Bull Run Hit $0.50?

Will the price of Ethena (ENA) reach $0.50 as the recovery rally gains momentum with the proposal to add Solana as a backing asset for USDe?

With the market cap crossing the $1 billion mark, Ethena (ENA) has increased by 15.32% in the past 24 hours. Currently, the altcoin is trading at $0.3887, with a 33.65% rise in the last seven days.

As the bullish trend in Ethena’s ENA token is scaling to new heights with the newfound momentum, will the breakout run reach $0.50?

Ethena’s Inverted Head and Shoulder Breakout Rally

As the bullish recovery in the ENA price trend gains momentum, the 8-hour price chart reveals an inverted head-and-shoulder pattern breakout. The breakout rally peaks at $0.41 before taking a minor pullback.

ENA price chart
ENA price chart

Based on the Fibonacci levels, the ENA token struggles to sustain dominance at 61.80% at $0.3918. As the growing bullish influence is an uptrend continuation, the 50 and 200 EMA in the 8-hour chart are on the verge of a golden crossover.

Furthermore, the MACD and signal lines are on a bullish trend with a surge in positive histograms. Hence, the technical indicators in the 8-hour chart support the possibility of an uptrend in Ethena.

Ethena’s Proposes SOL as Backing Asset for USDe

The massive surge in the ENA token comes with the recent proposal of the Ethena team to add the SOL token as a backing asset for USDe. This mechanism will be similar to the hedging mechanism currently used by Ethena for Bitcoin and Ethereum perpetual futures.

The proposal will also include BNSOL, Binance Liquid Stake SOL, bbSOL, and Bybit Liquid Stake SOL as backing assets for USDe. The Risk Committee will decide by conducting a unanimous vote seven days after the proposal.

Will Ethena’s ENA Price Hit $0.50?

The bullish trend in Ethena could continue with a post-retest reversal of the bullish pattern breakout. According to the Fibonacci levels, the upcoming price targets for the ENA recovery rally are at 78.60% and 100% Fibonacci levels, at $0.4431 and $0.5086, respectively.

On the flip side, the support levels present are $0.3557 and $0.3196.

Whale Activity Boosts NEIRO as it Targets $1B Cap and $0.003

Will a bullish breakout rally in the “First NEIRO on Ethereum” token sustain above $0.0020 to hit the $1 billion market cap this week?

With a bullish recovery gaining momentum, the NEIRO token has increased by 2.02% in the past 24 hours. Despite a slow Sunday, the meme token has increased by 42.16% in the past seven days and has a market cap of $855 million.

As the meme coin approaches the $1 billion market cap, it is currently trading at $0.002033. Can this bullish trend propel the token to $0.0030 and achieve a market capitalization of $1 billion?

NEIRO Price Analysis

In the 4-hour chart, the NEIRO token has broken above a consolidation range that formed a bullish flag pattern. The range extended from $0.0015 to a resistance trendline near $0.001869.

The meme coin registered a flag pattern breakout with a recovery rally on Friday and Saturday, accounting for a price jump of 38.21% from $0.001561 to $0.002158. However, the breakout rally soon started to lose momentum, resulting in a retest of the 20-EMA in the 4-hour chart.

NEIRO Price Chart
NEIRO Price Chart

Currently, NEIRO’s short-term price action reveals a minor pullback phase leading to a consolidation phase near the $0.0020 psychological mark. However, the bullish trend will likely continue as the whale activity increases.

The technical indicators support the bullish trend ahead with a positive alignment of 20, 50, 100, and 200 EMA in the 4-hour chart, providing dynamic support. Meanwhile, the cooldown phase in the 4-hour RSI line drops below the overbought territory but sustains above the 50% line.

NEIRO Whale Activity Surges

In a recent snapshot of all the whale activities by SpotOnChain, buying activity suggests a potential bull run ahead. Among the most optimistic whales, the GSR Market is notably bullish on NEIRO, holding 40.4 million NEIRO tokens, which accounts for nearly 4.04% of the total supply.

Adding to the bullish sentiment, a savvy trader with wallet address 0xE9F sold $1 million worth of OM and ATH tokens to acquire 8.45 million First NEIRO on Ethereum tokens.

Additionally, Vida BWE of bwecapital.eth has accumulated 4.065 million tokens, nearly 0.4% of the circulating supply. However, some whales are exiting trades, whether due to losses or profit-taking.

For example, a Shiba Inu whale that profited $145 million from SHIB sold 17.5 million NEIRO tokens at a loss of nearly $1.5 million. Meanwhile, another whale with wallet address 0x00D has deposited 4.7 million NEIRO tokens worth approximately $531,000 on Bybit, realizing a profit of $247,000.

Is $0.0030 A Potential Target for NEIRO?

With bullish whale activity signaling an uptrend, the trend-based Fibonacci levels on the 4-hour chart indicate crucial resistance levels at the 78.60% and 100% Fibonacci levels, positioned at $0.0022997 and $0.00250097, respectively. If the broader market recovers, an optimistic target of the 161.80% Fibonacci level at $0.00308142 could be attainable.

On the flip side, the potential supports are at $0.00192052 and $0.00178339.

Cardano Founder Introduces 11 Tenets for Decentralized Blockchain Governance

0

Charles Hoskinson introduces Cardano’s “Bill of Rights,” outlining 11 blockchain tenets for governance, privacy, efficiency, and user protections.

In a recent broadcast, Charles Hoskinson, founder of Cardano, outlined a framework for blockchain governance that he described as a “Bill of Rights” for the Cardano ecosystem.

His announcement marks a significant development in the blockchain’s evolution, aiming to establish a governance model that ensures user rights and expectations are clearly defined. The move is part of an ongoing effort, with over 50 workshops conducted and elected delegates helping to craft a comprehensive constitution for Cardano.

The Eleven Blockchain Tenets

Hoskinson introduced a set of 11 foundational blockchain tenets, intended to guide the design and operation of decentralized systems. These principles look to uphold the rights of users and contributors in blockchain environments.

The first tenet focuses on freedom from censorship, stressing that blockchain transactions must remain uncensored and cannot be slowed down. This parallels the right to free speech, ensuring that transactions proceed quickly and without interference.

Predictability in transaction costs forms the second tenet, which is essential for businesses relying on blockchain technology. By emphasizing the need for stable and reasonable transaction fees, Cardano aims to provide long-term cost predictability, enabling better business planning. In line with these principles, the third tenet supports censorship-free applications.

Fair Contributions and Efficient Systems

Another area of Hoskinson’s proposal involves fair treatment of contributors. The fourth tenet addresses the need to recognize and compensate all contributions within the system, whether in governance or transaction processing.

By ensuring fair rewards, Cardano aims to maintain an engaged and motivated community. Hoskinson noted that failure to do so could risk discouraging participation in the system.

The fifth tenet focuses on the preservation of user value and data, ensuring that assets are protected from being locked or processed without consent. This stands in contrast to traditional banking systems, where users may face such issues.

Meanwhile, the seventh tenet notes the importance of efficient resource usage, stressing that blockchain systems must continually optimize their processes. For example, the transition from Plutus V1 to V2 massively reduced transaction sizes.

Governance, Privacy, and Transparency

In his address, Hoskinson also emphasized user privacy and compliance with local regulations the ninth and tenth tenets. These tenets promote privacy while providing users with the tools they need to remain compliant with laws, without allowing government overreach into the system.

Decentralized governance is another essential aspect, with the eighth tenet advocating for a system where the community, rather than a centralized entity, governs the ecosystem.

The final tenet is the need for transparency and predictability within the system. Cardano will prevent the creation of unfair advantages for any user group by ensuring that all processes are clear, verifiable, and fair.

Together, these tenets form the foundation of Hoskinson’s vision for a decentralized and fair blockchain ecosystem, applicable beyond Cardano to the broader blockchain scene.

One of Largest XRP Buy Orders Appears on Bitrue as Whales Accumulate 40 Million XRP

0

XRP whales have resumed accumulation, procuring about 40 million tokens over the past two days as the market eyes recovery.

The FUD around the XRP ecosystem seems to have disappeared as whale activities have resumed. According to popular X analyst Ali Martinez, large holders scooped in 40 million XRP in two days, boosting positive sentiments among proponents.

The Saturday Post cited crypto data intelligence platform Santiment. The analysis revealed a spike in XRP whale accumulation between October 10 and 12, as FUD from the notice of appeal filed by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) wore off.

For context, the Wall Street regulator filed a notice of appeal on October 2, declaring its intentions to contend the Ripple ruling. The application resonated around the crypto community and catalyzed a short-lived downtrend in XRP’s price.

Whales Resume Accumulation

Martinez’s post highlighted the resumption of accumulation among XRP whales after a short period of massive sales. For context, the data shows a notable decline in the amount of XRP held by wallet addresses containing between 1 million and 10 million XRP since the SEC’s notice of appeal on October 2.

This category of whales started the month, holding over 3.92 billion XRP.  However, a sharp decline was noticed as whales sold massively due to swelling uncertainties following the appeal notice. Notably, the amount held by these whales dropped to 3.8 billion on October 8. The Santiment chart shows that the amount of XRP held by whales has surged to 3.85 billion.

Furthermore, on-chain activities and exchange buy orders confirmed this renewed XRP whale traction. For instance, a user notified the XRP community of a large buy order on the XRP/USDT pair on Bitrue. The buyer(s) placed a limit order to buy 26.38 million XRP at $0.5415.

Also, the blockchain tracker Whale Alert reported a notable large-scale XRP accumulation. On Friday, it shared that an unknown whale withdrew 30 million XRP, worth $16 million at the time, from Bybit.

Will XRP Price Follow Accumulation Uptick?

The latest accumulation has reinforced the positive sentiments within the XRP community while heightening the chances of a price uptick. However, XRP has continued to trade between $0.54 and $0.52 in the past seven days, exchanging hands at $0.5385 at press time.

Notably, Bitcoin’s renewed bullish momentum could also spark an XRP surge to $0.67. Analyst Charting Guy noted that XRP would do nothing until Bitcoin finds its footing. As a result, the latest push to $64,500 could spur a surge past the range top at $0.67 in the 1M chart and push XRP to new highs.

AAVE Reversal Rally Targets $200 as Whale Accumulates 47,991 Tokens

With a trendline breakout rally surpassing $150, AAVE gains bullish momentum. Will this bull run hit $200?

With a bullish reversal gaining momentum, Aave has surged by 4.37% in the past 24 hours. The AAVE token is currently trading at $160.19, reflecting a total increase of 6.37% over the past seven days. Amid this surge, Aave stands out as one of the top-performing coins among the top 50 cryptocurrencies, boasting a market cap of $2.39 billion.

Over the last five days, AAVE has recorded four bullish candles, rising 17.84% from a 7-day low of $136.29. Will this bullish trend continue, pushing AAVE to $200 as the broader market recovers?

AAVE Price Analysis

Starting the reversal rally with a morning star pattern and a double-bottom reversal in the daily chart, the AAVE token reveals a breakout rally. This prolongs the long-coming uptrend in the DeFi token with a new higher-low formation.

As the DeFi token regains momentum after a minor pullback, the bulls are set to create a new swing high above the $178.56 peak.

AAVE Price Chart
AAVE Price Chart

In the 4-hour chart, AAVE’s recovery run has broken a longstanding resistance trendline while maintaining the pullback phase. Following a post-retest reversal, the AAVE token has formed four consecutive bullish candles and crossed the 50% Fibonacci level at $157.54.

The daily RSI line has shown a significant bullish divergence in a double-bottom formation, supporting the bullish reversal. Additionally, with the increasing bullish momentum, the 4-hour RSI line has entered the overbought territory.

As bullish sentiment grows, the 50 and 100 EMA on the 4-hour chart are poised for a bullish crossover.

AAVE Whale Inches Closer To Accumulating 50k AAVE Tokens

As the AAVE breakout rally gains momentum, the confidence of whales for the DeFi token is increasing. In a recent move, a whale purchased 16,818 AAVE tokens worth nearly $2.6 million.

Furthermore, he borrowed 2 million GHO tokens to buy additional AAVE tokens. Over the past two days, the whale has purchased 47,991 AAVE tokens worth nearly $7.5 million.

Will AAVE Continue The Bull Run To $200?

Based on the Fibonacci levels, AAVE’s trend reversal rally may encounter minor resistances at $168.24 and $176.25, corresponding to the 78.60% and 100% Fibonacci levels on the 4-hour chart, respectively. For potential new 52-week highs, the Fibonacci levels suggest price targets of $186.43 at the 1.272 extension and $199.38 at the 1.618 extension.

On the downside, crucial support levels for AAVE are found at $157.54, which aligns with the 50% Fibonacci level, and at $146.93, where the 200 EMA on the 4-hour chart resides.

Michael Saylor Reacts to Time Travel Proposal to Reclaim 10,000 BTC from 2010 Pizza Deal

0

Michael Saylor, the chairman of MicroStrategy, has sparked interest on social media with a commentary concerning his company’s Bitcoin acquisition strategy.

The exchange began with a tweet from Bitcoin advocate Samson Mow, who playfully imagined a future scenario in which Saylor travels back to 2010 to stash Bitcoins after delivering two pizzas to the famous Bitcoin pizza buyer, Laszlo Hanyecz.

Mow’s tweet paints a picture set in 2039 when 99.52% of Bitcoin has already been mined. In this scenario, Saylor, in a desperate bid to acquire more Bitcoin, could go back in time to trade two pizzas for 10,000 BTC.

Saylor Considers Time Travel to Reclaim 10K BTC from 2010 Pizza Deal

For context, on May 22, 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz completed a groundbreaking transaction, trading 10,000 Bitcoins for two pizzas, which has since become a legendary moment in cryptocurrency history. At that time, the value of Bitcoin was approximately $41, compared to $64K today, illustrating the monumental rise of digital currencies over the years.

Following Samson Mow’s humorous post, Saylor responded with an emoji that expressed a blend of contemplation and curiosity. His reaction suggested he was pondering the hypothetical scenario of traveling back in time to secure those early Bitcoins cheaply.

In response to Saylor’s reflection, Mow cautioned, “Don’t do it, Michael! Any attempt to send Bitcoin from the past to the future will fork reality, effectively creating a new time chain.”

MicroStrategy Bitcoin War Chest

MicroStrategy has amassed an impressive total of 252,220 Bitcoins to date. The company adopted the Bitcoin standard in 2020, setting a precedent for how businesses can approach crypto investments.

Over the past four years, MicroStrategy’s aggressive Bitcoin purchasing strategy has gained significant momentum. On June 20, 2024, the company acquired 11,931 Bitcoins for $786 million, bringing its total holdings to 226,331 Bitcoins at that time.

By August 1, MicroStrategy added a modest 169 Bitcoins, raising its total to 226,500 BTCs, with cumulative spending reaching $8.34 billion.

On September 13, the company acquired 18,300 Bitcoins for $1.11 billion, increasing its total holdings to 244,800 tokens. Just a week later, MicroStrategy purchased another 7,420 Bitcoins for $458.2 million, resulting in a grand total of 252,220 Bitcoins and total expenditures of $9.91 billion.

Aiming to Become a Bitcoin Bank

In recent disclosures, Saylor outlined MicroStrategy’s strategic aspirations, indicating a goal to transition into a Bitcoin bank. The company intends to focus on borrowing fiat rather than lending. In this innovative approach, MicroStrategy plans to offer debt notes and equity shares to investors in exchange for funding its Bitcoin acquisitions.

The target is to secure between $100 billion and $150 billion worth of Bitcoin through these financial instruments. Additionally, the firm aims to explore the fixed-income market to generate further capital. Saylor has previously projected that Bitcoin could potentially reach values of up to $13 million by 2045, emphasizing a vision of significant market share growth for the cryptocurrency over the coming decades.

Google Keeps XRP Price Data Despite Removing Bitcoin and Ethereum

0

Leading search engine, Google has retained market data on XRP price despite removing similar data for the two largest crypto assets, Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Over the weekend, the crypto community was stunned to discover that Google had removed its automated pricing and chart data for Bitcoin (BTC), the world’s largest cryptocurrency, despite the asset stamping its renown in the finance scene over the past few years.

Google Removes Chart Data for Bitcoin

Notably, Google provides pricing data for assets that the finance scene considers most prominent. The search engine determines this through surging interest from an increase in searches.

Among the prominent community members to identify the latest development was Layah Heilpern, a crypto pundit and host of the Layah Heilpern Show. She confirmed that Google still shows chart and pricing data for other stocks despite removing Bitcoin, suggesting it is not a glitch.

Heilpern speculated that the move was a move toward suppressing cryptocurrencies. However, further investigation reveals that not all cryptocurrencies have been affected by recent developments.

XRP Remains Unaffected

Notably, Google has also removed pricing data for Ethereum (ETH), the second-largest crypto asset. In addition, data from Solana is also missing. Interestingly, XRP appears to have not been impacted by the move, as data confirms pricing and chart data for the altcoin remains unaffected.

XRP on Google
XRP on Google

XRP community figure Alex Cobb disclosed this in a recent post on X, with some responses speculating that this suggests XRP’s supremacy. However, this is highly unlikely to be the reason.

Besides XRP, chart and pricing data for Stellar (XLM) remain on the Google search page. Also, Binance Coin (BNB) and Tron (TRX) remain unaffected. Meanwhile, Google has removed data for meme coin Shiba Inu but maintains Dogecoin (DOGE). At press time, the pattern appears random.

Growing Speculations

For context, Google added market data for Bitcoin within its finance section in June 2013 and went further to embed an auto conversion mechanism for Bitcoin’s price a year later.

The inclusion of Bitcoin bolstered the premier crypto asset’s legitimacy as a recognized asset. Google has since then added support for other cryptocurrencies, including XRP.

As a result, the crypto community has tagged the sudden removal of some crypto assets as bizarre. However, it bears mentioning that Bitcoin search interest on Google has dropped significantly of late. Data from Google Trends shows that interest in Bitcoin had reached a low last seen in over a year.

However, historical data suggests this might be bullish for the market. Notably, market intelligence resource Santiment has often confirmed that periods of low interest or less FOMO are important for accumulating an asset, as they typically precede an upsurge following the consolidation.

Vitalik Proposes Key Ethereum PoS Upgrades: Single-Slot Finality and Democratized Staking

0

Vitalik Buterin Highlights Future Ethereum Protocol Improvements Post-Merge.

Ethereum news today: On October 14, 2024, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin published part one of a blog series titled “Possible Futures of the Ethereum Protocol, part 1: The Merge”. The post explores Ethereum’s progress since transitioning to proof of stake (PoS) and outlines key areas for future improvement.

Key Points:

The Merge’s Success: Ethereum transitioned from proof of work (PoW) to PoS two years ago, bringing significant stability, performance, and decentralization benefits. However, areas such as transaction finality time and democratizing staking still need improvement.

Single Slot Finality & Staking Democratization:

Single Slot Finality: Buterin seeks to reduce the time it takes for a transaction to be finalized from 15 minutes to a single slot (~12 seconds). This would increase user security and simplify the protocol.

Staking Accessibility: Reducing the current 32 ETH staking requirement to just 1 ETH would encourage more solo staking and reduce reliance on staking pools, making Ethereum more decentralized.

Challenges in Achieving Goals

Faster finality and democratized staking conflict with minimizing node operator overhead. Buterin introduces several potential solutions:

Option 1: Brute Force: This would involve developing more efficient signature aggregation using technologies like ZK-SNARKs.

Option 2: Orbit Committees: This is a novel mechanism that allows a randomly selected medium-sized committee to finalize the chain while preserving the cost-of-attack properties.

Option 3: Two-Tiered Staking: Implementing two classes of stakers, with larger deposits directly involved in economic finality and smaller deposits playing a supporting role.

These proposed upgrades aim to increase Ethereum’s security, efficiency, and accessibility, keeping it competitive with other blockchains while staying true to its decentralization ethos.
