The Biggest Off-Exchange BTC Whale Has Sold 15,500 Bitcoin Worth $350 Million

Whale selling massive Bitcoin.

One of the largest Bitcoin whales outside of exchanges has decided to liquidate 15,500 BTC for $350 million.

It appears that crypto whales are back in activity. According to the latest disclosure, one BTC whale has sold off a huge chunk of its crypto stash. Details of the transaction and the balances can be shown in the image.

The whale made five transactions to sell 15K above BTC. Seling 500 BTC in the first transaction, 2500 BTC in the second and third, and 5000 BTC in the fourth and fifth transaction. The said the crypto whale is said to be the largest BTC holder who doesn’t store their stash on exchanges, meaning that they exercise direct or self-custody of their stash.

This latest move by a large Bitcoin whale to liquidate a part of their holdings has the community trying to figure out the motivation behind the decision and whether the move could impact the market in the short term. First off, the crypto market, including Bitcoin, has had a rough time since the start of 2022. There has been a significant price reduction, and the whale’s move leaves BTC enthusiasts with questions on whether the whale’s sale is running a loss or a profit.

That said, it’s possible that the whale may have been one of the early adopters of Bitcoin or may have acquired their stash at a much lower price some time back. On the other hand, they may have liquidated part of their stash to generate capital for other offline investments. In that case, the sale may not be motivated by market projects for future BTC price points.

Shocker: Three Arrows Capital Founders Bought $50M Yacht Before Going Bankrupt With Borrowed Money

3AC is in trouble as investor exposes their yacht purchase that was paid with investor funds.

The recent collapse of Terra Luna and UST put so many investors and crypto firms in misery. Still, the expose`s being made now show that some of the firms may have grabbed the opportunity to defraud investors.

A case in point is the latest information about the two founders of Three Arrows Capital (3AC) – Kyle Davies and Su Zhu. Apparently, the two put a $50 million down payment on a super yacht in Singapore right before the firm went under.

$50 Million Down Payment Paid With Investors’ Funds

Speculations into the funds used indicate that the million was sourced from borrowed funds. The new information was shared in documents held by the Singapore High Court. Basically, the 3AC founders used investor funds for purposes other than what it was intended for, a move that amounts to misappropriation of funds and outright fraud.

A short while later, 3AC filed for bankruptcy after the collapse of Terra. The firm had invested around $200 in the Terra coins and UST and couldn’t pay investors after the cryptos collapsed.

3AC Owes $302 Million To Charles McGarraugh

News of the apparent misappropriation of investor funds was broken in a remark shared to the court by one of the 3AC creditors, Charles McGarraugh. Charles works at Blockchain.com as the chief strategy officer. Apparently, 3AC owes him funds to the tune of $302 million.

Writing to the Singapore High Court, he remarked,

“For example, upon information and belief I understand that Messrs. Zhu and Davies reportedly made a down payment on a USD $50 million yacht. It is also my understanding that Mr. Davies intends this yacht to be larger than any yacht owned even by Singapore’s richest billionaires.”

Charles also intimated that besides the $50 million down payment used for the yacht, 3AC’s Zhu used $35 million to purchase a home in Singapore back in December.

Firm Owes $3.5 Billion To 27 Creditors.

At the height of its success as a hedge fund, 3AC controlled around $10 billion worth of assets. Things went south after the collapse of Terra and the preceding crypto winter that wiped out billions from the market. The firm now owes around $3.5 billion to investors, with only one investor named Genesis holding a $2.36 billion stake in the said debt. The collapse of 3AC also caused a ripple effect that led to the collapse of Voyager. Three Arrows Capital owes Voyager $650 million – which it failed to pay.

Central African Republic Intends to Raise $1 Billion By Creating SANGO, Its National Digital Currency

The Central African Republic will raise one billion dollars by releasing first-of-its-kind digital money, known as the “SANGO.”

By releasing the first national digital currency, which will be known as SANGO, the Central African Republic intends to generate a total of one billion dollars, according to the press release. After it has been collected, the funds will be used toward tokenizing the nation’s assets, giving investors from all over the globe the chance to make a contribution, take advantage of it, and help create the complete digital infrastructure using the Sango blockchain, which is an innovative Layer-2 Bitcoin sidechain.

Please note that the Central African Republic is an African country located in the heart of Africa. The country is working on a digital future as a new structure for its economy.

When the President of the Central African Republic, Faustin-Archange Touadéra, issued his declaration on the 21st of April about the acceptance of Bitcoin as legal cash and then with the subsequent deployment of the SANGO Coin on the 3rd of July, the entire world was flabbergasted and astonished.

With an estimated value of more than $2.2 trillion in iron ore and an additional $60 billion in each individual resource of gold, oil, diamonds, and lithium, the Central African Republic is a front-runner in the movement to democratize access to resources.

Tokenization makes it possible to get access to global money in a manner that is democratic and transparent. This opens the door for investors of any size to purchase fractionalized assets that reflect the resources of a nation.

Sango will regulate the Central African Republic’s economic environment by decentralizing and tokenizing its resources, giving citizenship, e-residency, and land, and locking its newly created currency. Other African nations exhibit interest in digital solutions.

The country’s government, business, and African leaders support the program. Binance’s Changpeng Zhao, MicroStrategy’s Michael Saylor, Salinas Group’s Ricardo Salinas Pliego, and Nigeria’s Reuben Abati have offered support on Twitter.

Stablecoin Backed by Palladium Released in Russia.

Atomyze, a tokenization platform supported by the Russian government, has just released its first digital asset, which is backed by palladium, in partnership with Rosbank, a local financial institution.

Atomyze has just completed its first issuance of a digital financial asset (DFA), which is the newly issued virtual currency. In February of 2022, the platform became Russia’s first legally recognized digital asset manager after obtaining registration from the country’s central bank.

It has been reported that Interros, a prominent Russian investment company, is behind both Atomyze and Rosbank. Vladimir Potanin, a prominent banker, was one of the co-founders of Interros.

This is a very important moment in history. According to what Potanin said in the announcement, individuals and companies in Russia now have the chance to make investments in this metal. He added that this occasion also marks the beginning of a new age in Russia’s economic history, which the oligarch refers to as the era of tokenization.

Potanin said:

“Unlike cryptocurrencies, industrial and other tokens are backed by physical assets, and the use of blockchain technology makes their transactions reliable, convenient, and transparent. The token will defeat the cryptocurrency, pushing it to the sidelines of the digital economy.”

In related developments, As reported by The Crypto Basic, Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, not long ago signed a measure that makes it legal to prohibit the usage of cryptocurrencies across the whole nation. This indicates that cryptocurrencies cannot be used as payment for commodities being transferred, works being done, or services being provided.

Exchange operators now have the authority under the legislation to refuse to perform transactions that include the use of digital financial assets (DFAs) as payment. All types of digital assets are included in DFAs, including cryptocurrencies. Additionally, the law prohibits making payments using utilitarian digital rights (UDR).

Mike Novogratz Says His Heart Physician Lost $1M in Crypto, Criticizes Regulators For Not Providing Clearer Regulations

The Galaxy Investment CEO noted that his heart physician suffered huge losses following the crash in crypto prices.

Following the massive plunge in cryptocurrency prices last month, many investors incurred severe losses running into millions of dollars.

Mike Novogratz, the CEO of Galaxy Investment Partners, revealed in an interview today with Bloomberg’s Sonali Basak that his heart physician lost a whopping amount of funds in the latest bear market.

According to Novogratz, his heart physician lost over $1 million in cryptocurrency. However, the Galaxy Investment CEO did not disclose what cryptocurrency assets the health professional invested in.

Bloomberg journalist Misyrlena Egkolfopoulou further highlights the news.

Novogratz Slam Regulators

Meanwhile, Novogratz also took out time to criticize financial regulators for not being dedicated to the nascent industry. In recent times, U.S. regulators have been criticized for not providing clearer regulations for the U.S. cryptocurrency space.

Proponents of crypto believe that having clearer regulations for the industry would help the industry to thrive better. Despite the lack of regulatory clarity for the U.S. cryptocurrency industry, Novogratz noted that people would still flock to cryptos, as “human instinct to gamble isn’t going to go away.”

He further said:

“I don’t know what the SEC should have done, or could have done or might have done, but they didn’t do a lot to protect the retail investors.”

Regardless of the massive dip in cryptocurrency prices, Novogratz is confident that the value of these assets will still rally again.

Novogratz Is A Bitcoin and Terra Advocate

Novogratz has been a strong advocate of cryptocurrencies. He has thrown his weight behind various assets, including Bitcoin ($BTC) and Terra ($LUNA).

The Galaxy Investment CEO recently pledged his support for Terra, by sketching a LUNA tattoo on his right arm.

Bitcoin Network Value Transferred Has Surpassed $17 Trillion in 2022 Breaking All Previous Records

0

The Bitcoin Network Has Transferred More Funds In the first seven months of 2022 Than any other year.

Recent reports indicate that the BTC network has been much more active in 2022 than in 2021.

The start of 2022 saw the crypto market enter a period of extreme uncertainty. Many cryptos, including Bitcoin, experienced a sharp price fall that recorded a 70% downscale from the previous All-Time Highs. However, what’s interesting is that the Bitcoin network appears to have been more active during this period than the entire 2021.

According to a recent tweet by Bitcoin Archive, the Bitcoin network appears to have recorded more value transferred over the months since the start of the year.

$4.6T Increase In A Year

According to this new information, the network transferred around $13.11 trillion in the entire year 2021. That figure pales in front of the current 2022 numbers of around $17.78 trillion. This records a clear lead of $4.6 trillion in 2022 compared to 2021. Interestingly, the year is still not over, with around five more months to go.

bitcoin network value transferred

At this rate, the figure can be expected to go higher by December. This is despite the current market lull that has left many traders and analysts anticipating a severe crypto winter. In addition, it’s clear that the Bitcoin market is resilient, especially given the sudden crash experienced after the collapse of the Terra Luna and UST.

What Does This Mean?

Judging from the evident trend, it’s inevitable that the value transferred over the Bitcoin network in 2022 could be double that of 2021 by the end of the year. Many investors have held onto their stash during the recent market crash. This is bound to change once the market lull is over and people start moving their assets around.

This means that Bitcoin is gaining more traction in terms of global adoption and acceptance. More are using BTC in 2022 as opposed to 2021. This is a good sign indicating a positive future for the top coin.

Metablaze’s Multi-Layered Metaverse — Building A Sustainable Web3 Ecosystem With The MBLZ Token

0

“The metaverse” is on everyone’s lips nowadays. From gaming studios like Square Enix to media brands like Disney, everyone is itching to get involved in Web3. Tech giants like Facebook’s Meta have even made it their mission to invest and develop metaverse-related technologies and experiences.

While the metaverse isn’t exclusively for video games, the gaming industry has certainly taken an interest in building more immersive platforms. Virtual land in games like The Sandbox and Decentraland has become almost as valuable as property in physical reality. CNBC estimates that investors have already spent $500 million on virtual land NFTs, which could easily reach $1 billion in 2022.

However, just because the metaverse and land NFTs are hot doesn’t mean every project will succeed. It’s easy for companies to attract investments when the crypto bull market is in full swing. Once the chill of crypto winter starts blowing, it’s easy to see which metaverse platforms have the solid fundamentals to carry them through tough times.

Metablaze is fully aware of the opportunities and risks in the dynamic blockchain-based metaverse industry. To distinguish itself from the competition — and preserve its value during inevitable crypto dips — the Metablaze team focused on building a robust Web3 ecosystem that doesn’t rely too heavily on one aspect. Instead of just focusing on play-to-earn gaming, NFT trading, or DeFi, Metablaze is working on a unique metaverse platform that connects all the latest innovations in GameFi.

What Makes Metablaze’s Metaverse So Distinct? — The Significance Of Metablaze’s MBLZ Tokenomoics

Although Metablaze is focused on producing a stunning 3D massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMPORG) by 2024, this project is much more than just a gaming studio. What sets Metablaze apart from many other metaverse games is its intricate and interconnected Web3 ecosystem.

As Metablaze’s founders often claim, they want their platform to be accessible to gamers and non-gamers. Metablaze is using the greatest innovations in the Web3 space to build a community and an economy that can thrive no matter the broader crypto market’s conditions.

There are many strategies Metablaze has put into place to achieve its ambitious goal, but they all center around the Metablaze token (MBLZ). Now in the final phase of its successful presale, MBLZ will serve as the native currency for the forthcoming “Blaziverse.”

Not only will players use MBLZ to make in-game purchases on character NFTs or virtual land, MBLZ will be the primary reward for Metablaze’s “play-to-earn” feature. Metablaze will also allow NFT holders to rent out their characters or develop their virtual land for passive income with MBLZ.

Although other popular metaverses have proprietary tokens, only MBLZ has a unique AI-enabled burn mechanism. Unlike cryptos like ApeCoin or SAND, Metablaze’s MBLZ can auto-detect massive market moves and quickly re-adjust the circulating supply.

For example, if someone were to dump a ton of MBLZ onto the open market, Metablaze’s AI will buy and burn the appropriate amount of tokens to keep its price stable. Metablaze has already planned to burn up to 48 percent of MBLZ’s circulating supply, ensuring everyone involved in the Metablaze community can profit from the platform’s play-to-earn mechanics.

While impressive graphics and a fun storyline are crucial for a game’s success, only projects with thoughtful tokenomics could promise gamers a meaningful incentive. After all, a critical feature distinguishing GameFi from traditional games is that players can earn rewards for their time. Even popular games like Axie Infinity or upcoming titles like Yuga Labs’ “Otherside” have faced issues from fans partially due to their tokenomics strategies.

In the case of Yuga Labs, initial land sales for its “Otherside” metaverse faced massive issues due to “gas wars” on the Ethereum blockchain. Indeed, Dappradar estimates people paid upwards of $165 million in gas fees just to acquire NFT land parcels.

Metablaze considered this potential fee issue when designing the MBLZ token. Unlike most metaverse tokens, MBLZ isn’t just on the Ethereum blockchain. At launch, MBLZ will be available as a BEP-20 token on the Binance Smart Chain. However, Metablaze is working on an ERC-20 version of MBLZ and a secure bridge between Ethereum and the BSC.

This dual-blockchain strategy provides Metablaze gamers with the best of both worlds. Not only could MBLZ holders enjoy the dominance and popularity of the Ethereum blockchain, they could take advantage of lower transaction fees on BSC. This also means MBLZ will be readily available to crypto traders on two of the world’s largest decentralized exchanges: Uniswap and PancakeSwap.

Metablaze wants to ensure everyone who uses the BLAZEdApp or the upcoming player-vs-player game feels they are valued. In addition to offering a fantastic AAA gaming experience, Metablaze has placed central importance on maintaining the value of the MBLZ token.

While the crypto markets will remain volatile for years, Metablaze’s pre-planned burning strategy and AI system will help preserve the purchasing power of MBLZ. With this assurance, gamers and investors should feel more comfortable about the sustainability of Metablaze’s metaverse.

The MBLZ Presale Is “Blazing” Hot!

Judging by the data from the ongoing MBLZ presale, many early investors believe in the prospects of the Metablaze project. The Metablaze team has already raised $2.5 million in MBLZ token sales. Initial reports also suggest that there are at least 1,600 MBLZ holders, and more people are jumping into the Metablaze community as the presale continues.

Unlike many other initial coin offerings (ICOs), Metablaze opened its MBLZ presale to anyone with an interest in this project. People who want to invest in Metablaze could easily buy tokens in the last MBLZ presale round on Metablaze’s official website: MetaBlazeToken.com

For those still unsure about joining the Metablaze universe, it’s easy to connect with team leaders on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Metablaze also has a Discord server and a Medium page with many relevant posts on the latest developments. On the official Metablaze website, visitors could find a full copy of the project’s white paper and CertiK audited records on Metablaze’s smart contracts.

US Senator Elizabeth Warren Rings The Alarm Bell, Says Crypto Needs Tighter Regulations

0

According to Senator Elizabeth Warren, the United States needs more proactive crypto policies.

The US is known as a world-class leader when it comes to innovation and the adoption of new technologies. This is still the case with regard to blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. As a matter of fact, some of the biggest crypto whales and industry players are US-based.

However, it appears that the country hasn’t had a clear-cut crypto regulation framework, and senator Elizabeth Warren wants that to change. In a recent statement, the senator appealed to the US Congress and SEC to institute tighter regulations to streamline the expanding industry.

Regulations To Curb Fraud

To some, the Senator’s call to formulate stricter regulations for the crypto industry may sound somewhat anti-crypto. Still, the fact that the crypto industry is known to be rife with fraud schemes is a clear pointer to why regulations are needed. In the senator’s view, regulations are clearly meant to protect investors and stop crypto entities from defrauding people. If anything, the recent collapse of a number of crypto-related investment firms is a huge wake-up call for policymakers.

She said,

“I sound the alarm about cryptocurrencies and the need for stricter regulations for consumer protection and financial stability. Too many companies have managed to deceive customers and leave ordinary investors with their noses.”

The Senator’s remarks come after a number of firms went under and led to investors losing their money. Celsius filed for bankruptcy in early July, followed by Three Arrow Capital (3AC) a few days later. Others affected include Vauld, Babel, and Voyager, all of whom have led to investors losing access to their funds.

SEC Needs To React

According to senator Warren, SEC chairman Gary Gensler should move with speed to initiate a process for the formulation of strict crypto regulations in the United States. Gary was known as a crypto enthusiast even before he took the mantle as SEC chairman.

Singapore Is Tightening The Noose Around Crypto Regulation Following Recent Collapse Of Big Crypto Firms

0

The government of Singapore is introducing more restrictions on crypto-related retail investments.

Over the last few weeks, the crypto market has seen some of the largest and most popular crypto investment firms go under. The likes of Babel, Vauld, 3AC, and Celsius have been declared bankrupt after the spiraling market hit them hard. The bad effect was further made worse by the collapse of the Terra ecosystem involving Luna and UST. Investors lost billions, and lawsuits started being filed right and left.

For this reason, the government of the city-state of Singapore is now making moves to introduce stricter regulations in the crypto sphere. These changes are aimed at matching the rest of the world in crypto regulations. Interestingly, some of the collapsed crypto entities have bases in Singapore.

Affected Firms Not Licensed In Singapore

While some of the crypto entities affected by the recent crash are based in Singapore, they are not licensed and, therefore, not subjected to local regulations. That’s according to the managing director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), Ravi Menon. Talking during a recent release of the central bank’s annual report, Ravi said that entities like Terraform Labs (TFL) and the Luna Foundation Guard (LFG) are not regulated in Singapore despite being based there. However, these entities have been largely operational in Singapore ever since they moved there.

The MAS plans to hold consultations to develop better crypto regulations in the coming months. The regulations will be aimed at restricting access to retail crypto investments; a move is seen as a deterrent to curb too much inflow of funds into unregulated or shady crypto investment funds. For example, just before it imploded, 3AC had been warned against exceeding its asset limit. The firm was also accused of misrepresenting facts to unsuspecting investors.

Is Singapore Warry Of Cryptos?

The reported move by the MAS to plan for heavier crypto regulations may be seen to mean that Singapore is anti-crypto. That may not be the case. For one, Singapore has embraced the new crypto and blockchain technology for some time now, and the current push for better regulations is a necessary step to keep the space safe for investors. This could be the reason why only about 14 out of over 200 crypto-related applicants have been licensed in Singapore.

Ravi Menon said,

“We will set out how our developmental and regulatory approaches will work in harmony to achieve the vision of Singapore as an innovative and responsible digital asset hub.”
