DOGE Founder Excited As Number of Dogecoin’s Daily Transactions Surge to 14-Month High

0

The world’s largest meme-based cryptocurrency, Dogecoin (DOGE), has recorded a surge in its number of on-chain transaction volumes per day.

According to data on BitInfoCharts, the number of Dogecoin daily transactions has soared over 75,000 in the last 24 hours, suggesting a rapid increase in user activity.

At the time of writing this line, the number of Dogecoin daily transactions per day is currently around 75,421, BitInfoCharts’ data show.

It is noteworthy that this is the highest volume of daily transactions seen for the world’s largest meme cryptocurrency in the last 14 months.

The last time Dogecoin’s daily transactions count surged above 75,000 was on May 9, 2021. The number of daily transactions reached 82,000 at the time. The period also corresponds to when the cryptocurrency’s price hit an all-time high of $0.73.

Reactions Trail Dogecoin’s Rising Transaction Volume

Meanwhile, the massive increase in Dogecoin’s daily transaction volume has sparked reactions from many DOGE enthusiasts, who took to various social media platforms to celebrate the achievement.

The feat was also celebrated by Billy Marcus, the co-creator of Dogecoin, who tweeted recently, saying:

“Nice, the dogecoin blockchain transactions are spiking.”

What’s Fueling Dogecoin’s Transaction Volume

A spike in the daily transaction volume of a particular cryptocurrency usually suggests rising interest in the asset class. It could mean that enthusiasts of the cryptocurrency may be selling or buying the cryptocurrency rapidly, thus bolstering the number of daily transactions.

While it is unclear what caused the spike in the number of Dogecoin daily transactions, some cryptocurrency holders attributed the growth to the latest initiative by MyDoge Wallet, a self-custodial Dogecoin wallet.

MyDoge Wallet noted in an announcement yesterday that it has launched memes to Dogecoin’s metaverse.

“MyDoge welcomes memes to the dogeverse! Come for the memes, stay for the shibes,” MyDoge noted in an announcement.

DOGE Soars 1.5% in 24 Hours

Meanwhile, the spike in the number of Dogecoin transactions did not have much impact on the price of DOGE. In the last 24 hours, Dogecoin has been changing hands between $0.063 and $0.0657 across major exchanges. At press time, the cryptocurrency is trading around $0.0654, up 1.5% in the past day.

Former Ripple CTO Jed McCaleb XRP Account Now Empty; Sold 5.7 Billion XRP for $3.1 Billion In 8 years

0

Jed McCaleb, the co-founder of Ripple Labs, has sold nearly all his XRP, according to data on his TacoStand.

Per data on TacoStand, the former Ripple Labs CTO now has a paltry amount of only 46.7 XRP worth around $16.3 in his wallet. The development comes a few days after it was reported that McCaleb had taken a break from selling XRP.

Jed McCaleb xrp account now zero

As reported by TheCryptoBasic, a total of 5.32 million units of XRP were still sitting in his wallet of McCaleb two days ago. However, it did not take long before he offloaded almost every XRP in his account, leaving only 46.7 Ripple at press time.

Ripple Gifted McCaleb 9 Billion XRP

Recall that McCaleb was among the co-founders of Ripple Labs in 2013 and went on to become the company’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Before McCaleb left Ripple, he was given billions of XRP, which he continued to sell on different occasions. According to the insight provided by on-chain cryptocurrency data provider Whale Alert, McCaleb successfully sold 5.7 billion XRP for $3.1 billion at an average price of $0.55/XRP over the course of eight years.

McCaleb had embarked on a selling spree of the cryptocurrency, which makes many believe the activities have also negatively impacted the price of XRP over the years.

“[…] Because he is exclusively selling XRP, he is adding to the net amount available. It is also important to note that it seems that the profits are being cashed out directly through Bitstamp, and we found no evidence that any of it is being reinvested into the crypto market,” WhaleStats noted in a report.

It is a good development that McCaleb is done with selling his XRP, as these actions will no longer affect the price of the coin.

Ethereum Rallies In July Up 29% For The Month, As Over 131 New Whales Appear

0

Ethereum starts the week with big gains.

In a tweet on Sunday, Santiment Feed revealed that DeFi king Ethereum had rallied over 29% in July alone and 14% in the last 24 hours as about 131 new whales showed up with massive accumulation since May.

“Ethereum has recovered quite well in July, up +29% for the month and +14% alone in the past 24 hours. Additionally, there’s an increase in the key 1k to 100k ETH address tier since early May where 131 new whale addresses have popped up on the network,” tweeted Santiment.

It is worth noting that on Thursday, just before the weekend, Ethereum holders got more clarity on the timeline of the long-anticipated merge. On a conference call, Ethereum lead developer Tim Beiko disclosed that the Ethereum mainnet migration to the Beacon chain is tentatively scheduled for September 19th.

The merge is the migration of the Ethereum network to the proof-of-stake consensus Beacon chain. Notably, the move is expected to cut down on the network’s carbon footprint and improve its overall scalability and throughput.

Meanwhile, veteran trader Peter Brandt gave Ethereum investors and holders a reason to be cautious despite the latest price surge. Brandt, sharing his chart, highlighted that the latest upswing was based on low volume and, as such, may not be sustainable. Notably, the analyst had also predicted the possible price surge on Friday.

“The upturn came on extremely light volume. I.E. the thrust was not based on aggressive buying from strong hands and is, therefore, questionable,” Brandt tweeted on Sunday.

It is worth noting that the crypto markets have shown significant resilience in the face of new record inflation numbers from the US last Wednesday. In the last seven days, Bitcoin, BNB, XRP, SOL, and MATIC are up 4.50%, 10.95%, 12.12%, 17.23%, and 57.40%.

It will be interesting to see how the market holds up this week as the EU, UK, Canada, and Japan are scheduled to release inflation data.

Ripple and SEC Request Narrowly Tailored Redactions to Documents Regarding Amici’s Motion

Ripple and SEC Request Narrowly Tailored Redactions to Documents Regarding Amici’s Motion to Participate in Upcoming Expert Challenge.

Ripple and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) have requested narrowly tailored redactions to documents filed regarding amici’s motion to participate in the upcoming Daubert challenges.

The development comes following Judge Analisa Torres’ decision to grant, in part, and deny in part, the parties’ request to seal documents in connection with a motion filed by Amici to participate in the challenge of one of SEC’s experts.

Recall that the court previously denied Ripple’s request to seal in its entirety one of the documents to the SEC’s letter referred to as Exhibit O.

Judge Torres disclosed that Exhibit O is a judicial document and should be made available to the public to build trust in the U.S. judicial system.

Ripple’s Request to Exclude Emails of Two of Its Employees

Following the ruling, the blockchain company has requested a narrowly tailored redaction to the email addresses of two of its employees cited in the document.

Ripple noted that it chose to exclude the employees’ email addresses because they are non-parties in the lawsuit.

According to Ripple, one of the employees, whose email address is included in Exhibit O, left the company before the SEC filed the lawsuit in December 2020.

Notably, the parties have significant privacy interests that need to be protected to prevent unnecessary disclosure of their identities.

“The court’s ultimate findings as to whether there is a common interest between Defendants and Movants will not depend at all on the identities of these employees or does the SEC contend otherwise in its submissions to the court,” an excerpt of Ripple’s letter read.

The blockchain company added that it had submitted the proposed redaction under seal for it to be considered by the court.

SEC’s Redaction Request

In a similar development, the Securities and Exchange Commission has also proposed narrowly tailored redactions to selected documents regarding Amici’s request to participate in the challenge of one of SEC’s experts.

Although Judge Torres previously granted the SEC permission to redact the expert’s name from Exhibit B in the previous ruling, the agency is now seeking to carry out a similar action on Exhibits H and L.

“These redactions are narrowly tailored to serve the interests of witness safety and the SEC’s application should therefore be granted,” the Securities and Exchange Commission noted in its letter.

Coin Cloud New Noncustodial Mobile Wallet Now Allows To Send And Swap Shiba Inu Across US And Brazil

You Can Now Send And Swap Shiba Inu At Coin Cloud Crypto ATMs Across US And Brazil.

SHIB joins a host of other cryptos now available for sending and swapping at Coin Cloud ATMs In The US and Brazil across 6000 ATMs.

For some time now, Shiba Inu has been touted as the ultimate Doge killer. While it’s yet to achieve this objective, the coin has surely grown to attract a huge following. Shiba Inu is now accepted as means of payment in various business outlets across Europe and the US.

Now, the meme coin can be sent and swapped at crypto ATMs controlled by Coin Cloud after the company launched a new noncustodial mobile wallet. The wallet allows customers to buy, sell, and even store digital assets or cryptocurrencies.

Please remember that Coin Cloud added Shiba Inu to its ATMs in OCT 2021, making SHIB accessible in over 6,000 ATMs. Now the new feature allows “to securely buy, sell and store all digital currencies supported by Coin Cloud.”

According to the press release:

“Whether buying, selling, sending or receiving digital currencies, our mobile wallet delivers all the features needed and more, while ensuring security at the highest levels.”

Buying SHIB Via Coin Cloud

According to a company blog post, buying SHIB at a Coin Cloud crypto ATM doesn’t require much experience or savviness. There are over 4,000 such ATMs in the US. Users can transact at any of them as long as they have a SHIB wallet.

To buy Shiba Inu at an ATM, the user needs to enter their number and then enter a verification code received on their phone to initiate the process. Next, they scan the QR code on their SHIB wallet using the ATMs camera. From there, they insert the cash into the ATM to complete the purchase order. The coins will be credited to their SHIB wallet.

How Does This Affect SHIB?

The new wallet features allowing selling, storing, and swapping of SHIB will boost its popularity and make way for more adoption. For example, back in June, Coin Cloud entered into a partnership with one of the most popular and largest grocery chains spanning three states and running 59 stores. The chain, named Cardenas Markets, operates outlets in California, Nevada, and Arizona.

In addition, Shiba Inu can now transition to a utility token as opposed to its culture as just a meme coin. As more people get exposed to the coin via swapping, the effect will likely reflect its price upwards. At this time, SHIB is trading at around $0.00001 and sits at position 14 in the charts.

As Ripple Vs. SEC Lawsuit Approaches A Conclusion XRP Sees Massive Surge In Trading Volume: Report

0

Ripple (XRP) network sees a flurry of trading activity going into the weekend.

In a tweet on Saturday, Santiment Feed reports a strange occurrence on the XRP network on Friday as it saw a rapid surge in trading volume of up to $18.7 billion, noting that we might see some exciting price movements this weekend.

“XRPNetwork saw a major anomaly to end the week, with a rapid surge up to 18.7B in $XRP trading volume in the final hour of Friday (UTC time). This may be worth monitoring for some unordinary upcoming weekend price action,” Santiment tweeted.

The specific reason for the flurry of activity remains unclear. However, it is worth noting that this week has seen a lot of positive Ripple news. As reported by The Crypto Basic, the blockchain payments solution firm scored a big win in their case with the US SEC.

Notably, on Tuesday, the Magistrate Judge in charge, Sarah Netburn, ruled in favor of Ripple, denying the SEC’s claim of attorney-client privilege for documents regarding the controversial William Hinman speech. Consequently, it has strengthened the belief in a positive outcome for Ripple in the 2-year-long legal battle.

Moreover, there has been news of increased adoption of the XRP token and growth of NFT development on the network. For example, CryptoBar P2P, a Tokyo-based social platform, has added XRP as a payment method. NFTMaster has also announced that it has launched an NFT marketplace on the XRP ledger.

At the time of writing, the XRP token is down 1.52% in the last 24 hours and 2.86% in the last seven days. It is currently exchanging hands for $0.3344 on mainstream exchanges.

The network’s trading volume remains relatively low compared to the surge observed on Friday. The 24-hour volume currently sits at $1.22 billion. XRP remains the 7th largest crypto by market cap with $16.11 billion.

Cardano Founder Charles Hoskinson Shoots Down Possibility Of Collaboration With Solana Again Compare It With Old Nintendo Consoles

0

Hoskinson views Solana as a broken video game console that needs fixing.

In a ask me anything session on Saturday, Cardano’s Charles Hoskinson responding to a question about how ADA could collaborate with Solana, stated that a collaboration with the network would make sense, as he feels IOG could help fix Solana.

Elaborating on the statement, the IOG founder compared the Solana network to an old Nintendo console that could use some repairs, drawing inspiration from a Nintendo repair business his brother formerly ran, taking a dig at the network.

“You know, collaboration with Solana would actually make a lot of sense,” Hoskinson said before elaborating about his brother’s old Nintendo repair business. “So I was thinking since you know Solana comes from that world, that maybe there’s some legacy there, you know, we can figure out how to turn it on and off, taking it out on the cartridge, these types of things. I don’t know; it might be possible.”

However, Hoskinson added, “But my brother doesn’t do Nintendo stuff anymore. He’s a doctor,” hinting that he may not be willing to fix the network.

Notably, it is not the first time the Cardano chief has employed the analogy when talking about Solana. In June, in response to news of Solana downtime, Hoskinson tweeted a link to a YouTube video on how to repair broken game consoles.

It is worth noting that Solana developers have also been quick to criticize the Cardano network in the past. Notably, an 11-month-old video of Solana co-founders Anatoly Yakovenko and Raj Gokal criticizing IOG for being too careful resurfaced in June, and it has not aged well.

Solana, since September, has experienced at least seven outages. Notably, it experienced an outage at the beginning of May and June but managed to avoid one in July.

Meanwhile, it is worth noting that Cardano looks to be entering into its stride in terms of development. The IOG team is looking to launch the Vasil hard fork at the end of the month, which is expected to significantly improve the network’s scalability, throughput, and smart contract functionality.

Cardano’s native token ADA currently ranks 8th amongst the largest digital assets by market cap, ahead of 9th place Solana.

Massive XRP Adoption Outside the U.S

XRP has suffered majorly in the United States following its lawsuit with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Following the lawsuit, several crypto-related businesses in the United States have halted support for the coin as they fear being probed by the SEC.

Interestingly, that has not been the case for cryptocurrency businesses outside the United States, as XRP keeps recording widespread acceptance.

As reported by TheCryptoBasic, top retailers in Berlin will accept XRP following a partnership between LUNU and Ripple.
