How Shiba Inu Is Doing

The current price of Shiba Inu, which has decreased by 5.7 percent to $0.00001033, gives it a market valuation of $6.09 billion. In contrast to Bitcoin, Shiba Inu has a far smaller share of the market than Bitcoin does, namely 0.662 percent of the market share. However, Shiba Inu is a steady currency of the new era, while Bitcoin has been around for almost a decade.

According to the statistics provided by Coingecko, the value of Bitcoin has dropped by more than 30 percent in only one month, and its annual decrease is more than 42 percent. On the other hand, Shiba Inu has increased by at least 31.5 percent in value over the course of a single year and approximately 11 percent in a single month.

According to the data provided by the portal Coin98 Insights, approximately $600 million worth of shib coins were exchanged in the last twenty-four hours, with the Shiba Inu token seeing exceptionally high demand levels. There was around $332.6 million worth of volume traded in Shib, which was followed by $273.6 million worth of volume exchanged in Dogecoin, and $6.5 million worth of volume traded in Elon.

More Pain Ahead As Seasoned Price Action Trader Sees Bitcoin Could Still Tumble Below $10k

0

Justin Bennett thinks there is more pain ahead for Bitcoiners.

Justin Bennett speaking to his YouTube subscribers on Tuesday revealed that there is a chance Bitcoin could still plummet to $8,500 as the leading digital asset is currently forming a bear flag chart pattern.

“There is a pattern that’s setting up now. You can see where we have a much smaller bear flag pattern that is developing… The objective, in this case, is right around $8,500. Just above $8,000,” the trader said.

Bennett goes on to warn his subscribers that the latest bear cycle is different from previous ones and, as such, had to be evaluated in a different light. The trader notes that this is the first time the crypto market has faced a harsh macroeconomic environment as inflation persists and recession looms as the Fed continues aggressive tightening.

“Anything you think you know or anything from previous cycles needs to be significantly thrown out the window or reevaluated. Because again, this is unlike anything we’ve ever seen,” Bennett explains.

It is worth noting that Bennett’s analysis shares a lot of similarities with that of veteran trader Peter Brandt in recent months. As reported by The Crypto Basic last Tuesday, Brandt had also observed a triangular flag pattern in Bitcoin’s daily chart with trend confluence pointing to a downward price continuation. However, unlike Bennett, Brandt sees the $13k price point as the next target should the price break downward.

The question of when Bitcoin will bottom or if it has bottomed has become the big question for Bitcoiners this year. Unfortunately, as is to be expected with questions like this, there are no clear answers.

While several analysts agree that the leading digital asset is close or is showing characteristics consistent with the last stages of a Bitcoin bear cycle, they also agree that there is no telling how long this last phase would last.

As reported by The Crypto Basic, BTC’s Previous Price Performance Suggests Bitcoin’s Bottom Sits Between $10K and $14K.

Peter Brandt also Said that Bitcoin May Dip to $12,700, chief strategist at InTheMoneyStocks predicted that Bitcoin Will Recover in 2-3 Years and May Crash To $10k. US Investment Bank Stifel Report pointed out 3 Macroeconomic Factors that Could Take Bitcoin To $10K.

It is worth noting that the crypto markets have rallied today as Bitcoin continues to hold on to the $20k support. The crypto market cap is up by 5.68% in the last 24 hours, sitting at around $935.69 billion, according to data from CoinMarketCap. Bitcoin is up 5.08% during the previous 24 hours, exchanging hands on mainstream crypto exchanges for $20,832.

To support Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) on XRP Ledger Ripple introduced a new amendment XLS-20 in Jan 2022. with the help of this update, developers can mint, transfer, and burn NFTs and also test the performance.

XRP Ledger is quickly turning into one of the most well-known platforms for the construction and development of NFTs.

Automobile manufacturer, Lotus Cars, revealed their intentions to construct their very own NFT collection only a month ago and said that they will be basing their collection on XRPL as well.

Additionally, just over the past weekend, the fast-expanding Web 3.0 business CrossTower made the announcement that it would offer XRPL on its NFT marketplace.

Ripple NFTs Gaining Popularity

Ripple has recently announced that a new standard, known as XLS-20, allowing the creation of sophisticated NFT objects on the XRP Ledger has undergone and passed successful testing.

According to the firm, the upgrade will not only assist in the process of developing apps that serve several purposes, but it will also make it possible for users to carry out the process in a timely, cost-effective, and uncomplicated manner.

In the past, Ripple established a fund with a total value of 250 million dollars in order to begin its NFT program and promote XRPL NFT developers.

Cardano, Solana, and Ethereum were, up until very recently, the most popular platforms for creating and minting non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

On the other hand, it would seem that firms are looking at the possibility of working along with Ripple and the XRP Ledger.

These latter parties are well aware of this fact, and as a result, they have put a significant amount of resources into developing their own infrastructure.

MetaMask Co-Founders Say It’s Hard To Stop Ponzis On Blockchain, And Putting Money in Cryptocurrencies Is Gambling

0

MetaMask founders share their side of the story regarding the challenges facing the expanding blockchain industry.

While the crypto and blockchain industry has grown exponentially over the last few years, the industry is not without its challenges. One big issue among these is the increased rate at which people are getting scammed in Ponzi schemes and phishing attacks. MetaMask, a digital/crypto wallet, has been a major focus as it hosts tens of millions of people operating their digital wallets on the web-based platform.

During a recent interview, MetaMask founders delved into a number of issues facing the industry and rendered their perspectives with MetaMask in mind. MetaMask was founded by Dan Finlay and Aaron Davis back in 2016.

Lack Of Creativity In NFTs

MetaMask has supported the rise of the DeFi and NFT industries, especially due to its smooth connection to Ethereum-based networks. DeFi and NFTs saw the number of MetaMask users jump from 1 million to over 30 million within a few years.

However, according to Finlay, the NFT industry lacks proper creativity. He backed up his claim by pointing out how some NFT creators mint exact copies of the same art and put them up for sale. In his view, NFTs are supposed to be unique pieces of digital art/property.

Crypto Is Gambling

According to MetaMask Executives crypto is like gambling as no one knows what the future of crypto will be and to many people are promoting it:

“It feels too little too late, but putting your money in cryptocurrencies is gambling, I’m not saying what we have right now is the future of finance, and [you should] move your life savings over. A lot of people are advocating crypto and I think that is extremely dangerous behavior.”

Bad Actors Causing Crashes

On his part, Finlay thinks that a lot of the chaos, especially that witnessed in the last 6 months, stems from the actions of bad actors.

“There are so many different kinds of failure that are happening all the time.”

Just recently, firms like Celsius and Voyager went under, along with millions in investor funds. Their owes came as a result of the collapse of Terra and UST.

Finlay thinks that such incidents are caused by industry players that aren’t honest or transparent in their operations and end up misleading investors.

He said,

“A lot of the collapses that happened during this last round were things that were branding themselves as DeFi but then were actually kind of operating as shadow banks with massive leverage. And those aren’t transparent. And so there’s no way anyone investing in those was ensuring transparency.”

How MetaMask Deals With Ponzis

According to the founders, MetaMask has made efforts to do its part to curb scams and Ponzi schemes on its platform. Finlay said that while the platform may not entirely ban Ponzis, it can do its best to deprive them of the resources and access points that make them potent.

“We can’t stop people from making Ponzis on blockchains, It’s by definition impossible for us to wrap the whole thing into one unified bow and enforce it in a direction.”

This is by enhancing user consent features and making it hard for unreputable projects to gain traction.

“We can’t ban the Ponzis, but we can deprive them of the precious oxygen of exposure.”

However, users should play their part in enhancing defense. They should be careful not to invest in over-ambitious projects that promise too much. Greed is the single-most trap that makes a lot of people put their money in Ponzi.

CryptoQuant CEO Says Bitcoin Is Close To The Bottom, But This Needs To Happen First

0

Bitcoin bulls should be on the lookout for a short squeeze.

Ki Young Ju, CEO of crypto analytics firm CryptoQuant in a tweet on Thursday, revealed he was waiting for massive Bitcoin seller liquidation to kick start a bull run for the leading digital asset.

“Waiting for a big short squeeze. In late 2020, many people kept punting short positions on $BTC and got liquidated in the $10k-20k range before the parabolic bull-run started,” tweeted Young Ju. “Back then, 10% of hourly buy market orders were from short liquidations. Now, it’s around 1%.”

Clarifying his statements in a second tweet, Young Ju notes that he is not saying a bull run is imminent as it may still take months or years, but an event of destroying the short sellers is around the corner.

“To be clear, I didn’t say that the parabolic bull run is about to start,” Young Ju tweeted. “I’m just saying it seems close to the bottom, and it’s time to wait until this short squeeze event happens. It could be for like a few months or years for the next parabolic bull run; we never know.”

It is worth noting that Bitcoin has dropped over 70% from its peak in November 2021 despite hopes that the digital asset would clinch the long-anticipated $100k price point. The recent decline in the crypto space has been attributed to the increased correlation of Bitcoin with perceived risky tech stocks in an increasingly difficult macroeconomic environment.

So far, there has been little consensus on what would characterize the bottom and the narrative that would usher in the highly desired bull run. Notably, on Monday, controversial Bitmex founder Arthur Hayes responding to the news of Euro parity with the Dollar noted that the “Doom Loop” has started. Hayes points to his analysis in an article in April where he predicted that there would be a massive inflow to Bitcoin and gold as inflation leads to Euro and Dollar weakness.

Notably, according to Hayes, this narrative will drive the price of Bitcoin to $1 million.

Bitcoin has shown strong fundamentals in recent weeks despite lackluster price movements, as highlighted in multiple reports by The Crypto Basic. Moreover, in a tweet on Thursday, Santiment Feed notes that following the latest US CPI release, the correlation between Bitcoin and the equities market has dropped significantly, indicating a possible breakout.

Judge In Charge Of SEC VS. Ripple Case Points Out Hypocrisy In SEC Arguments

0

The judge in charge of the Ripple case points out inconsistencies in SEC arguments.

Judge Sarah Netburn, Magistrate in the Southern District of New York, has called out the SEC for its shifty stance on the controversial William Hinman speech, which has become central to the SEC vs. Ripple case.

“The hypocrisy in arguing to the court, on the one hand, that the speech is not relevant to the market’s understanding of how or whether the SEC will regulate cryptocurrency and, on the other hand, that Hinman sought and obtained legal advice from SEC counsel in drafting his speech, suggests that the SEC is adopting its litigation positions to further its desired goal and not out of a faithful allegiance to the law,” Netburn said according to a Fox Business report.

It is worth noting that the speech in question given by Hinman in 2018, in his capacity as Director of the Division of Corporation Finance, proclaims that Bitcoin and Ethereum are not securities.

The speech has become critical to the case as Ripple argues that if the speech by Hinman represents the views of the SEC, then the same body could not classify XRP as a security as it shares many similarities in its launch with Ethereum.

Notably, Ripple, in December 2020, had been slapped with a lawsuit by the US SEC for allegedly selling unregistered securities – XRP tokens – to provide capital for its business and enrich executives.

As Netburn points out, the SEC had previously argued that the controversial speech represented Hinman’s personal opinions and not that of the regulator, as corroborated by a signed affidavit by Hinman himself in a Ripple deposition in 2021. However, the SEC quickly revised this stance when Netburn requested documents related to the creation of the speech.

The SEC now claims that the speech represented the view of Hinman’s erstwhile division and was drafted in tandem with SEC legal counsel. Consequently, the regulator argues that the documents are protected by the attorney-client privilege.

The apparent inconsistency in the SEC’s argument no doubt annoyed the Judge. Consequently, on Tuesday, as reported by The Crypto Basic, Netburn ruled to deny the SEC’s push for attorney-client privilege and requested that all relevant documents be submitted to the court.

It is worth noting that a win for the SEC could see the regulator have precedence to gain extensive supervision over the crypto markets. However, in the same vein, losing the case could jeopardize its goal of becoming the market’s primary regulator.

Dogecoin Is Hiring To Build A New And Better Product “Accept Calculated Risk” For World Good

0

Dogecoin aims for multiple support points with its latest move to employ experienced people in hot professions.

Dogecoin is about to get to a whole new level. The meme coin has earned support from big quarters like Elon Musk, who has been working with a team of developers to take DOGE to the next level.

Now, Dogecoin is hiring translators, developers, writers, and even meme creators to join its community and help advance the vision of a global Dogecoin. According to the tweet, these professionals will be instrumental in pushing Dogecoin to the moon.

DOGE Director Engages Community

In a separate tweet, one of Dogecoin’s directors at the Dogecoin Foundation, Timothy Stebbing, attempted to engage the community to get recommendations and views on what is needed to advance Dogecoin to the next stage and keep it relevant – especially during a time when a global recession is looming.

“Today, we’re looking down the barrel of a global recession like we have not seen for 30+ years, and I’m asking myself the question: “What can we do very quickly to be ready for the world to come in 12-18 months”, times of great turmoil are also times of great opportunity.”

To attain the next level, DOGE must become a product that the entire world can adopt.

Among the recommendations from members of the community is building layer two which would make the network faster. Another one is to link a payment gateway to platforms like BitPay. On these, Timothy has a better solution – accept “calculated risk.”

“I have an alternative solution to an l2 (specifically for the speed issue)… it’s called ‘accept the calculated risk.'”

This means that people with funds in their wallets shouldn’t wait until the payment is confirmed for them to be given what they’re purchasing. Timothy’s opinion builds on the fact that blockchain-based or crypto payments cannot be reversed and that the recipient is guaranteed to get their payment as long as the transaction is initiated.

“If someone is buying a 50 Doge cup of coffee, if their wallet has the funds, if the transaction looks valid.. give them the coffee, don’t wait for confirmation, your success rate will be exceptionally high.”

DOGE Adoption

This latest move by Dogecoin is meant to boost its adoption. The professions involved will play critical roles in popularizing crypto and improving its operating models. For one, DOGE is already popular as a meme coin, and all that’s needed now is to enhance its utility. In the recent past, Elon Musk said he was looking to work with developers to achieve this end.

However, it’s yet to be known whether this latest hiring spree is linked to him. If the move is successful, Dogecoin could soon rock the world. DOGE is already among the top 10 coins in the charts and is trading at around $0.06.

The Largest Bank in Brazil Will Offer Cryptocurrency Trading Services

The biggest bank in Brazil, Itau Unibanco, is going to start offering cryptocurrency trading services

Pro-crypto Itau Unibanco Holding SA, the biggest private lender in Latin America, intends to allow the purchasing and selling of cryptocurrencies to its retail customers in the not-too-distant future. This development has brought Brazil back into the spotlight. After this, on Thursday, the bank made the announcement that it will be launching a new token trading platform.

Vanessa Fernandes, who is the chief executive of Itau’s digital assets division, was quoted by Reuters as saying that the bank is exploring introducing the capability of cryptocurrency trading. However, she did not provide any information on the timetable for the introduction of this platform.

This is not the first time that a bank in the country has started to provide cryptocurrency trading services. At the beginning of this year, the digital banking platform behemoth Nubank, which is located in Brazil, made an announcement about exclusive cooperation with the blockchain infrastructure platform Paxos. As a result of the collaboration, the financial institution has indicated that it would provide services for purchasing, holding, and selling cryptocurrencies.

Crypto Adoption in Brazil

Judging by the most recent information, the adoption of cryptocurrencies in Brazil seems to be proceeding quite well, particularly in the last week. First, the city of Rio de Janeiro announced its goal to become the cryptocurrency ecosystem for the whole nation after confirming its intentions to include blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies into the city’s infrastructure.

Following that, the Brazilian online payment platform PicPay, which is comparable to PayPal and Cash App, introduced cryptocurrency trading to its user base of 65 million people. Itau Unibanco, an additional significant banking institution in Brazil, is now considering doing the same thing.

The Brazilian government, on the other hand, has determined that it has no intention of storing any crypto assets since all payments will be converted to Brazilian reals immediately.
