Top ETH Whale Splash $1.5 Million On Shiba Inu, Adds 163 Billion Shib

0

The major whale came back to accumulate Shiba Inu.

Major Ethereum whale “BlueWhale0073″ scooped up 163.28 billion SHIB tokens in one significant transaction as the price of Shiba Inu reclaimed its previous support level (current resistance) located at $0.0000090 on the daily chart.

Data from crypto whale tracker WhaleStats indicates that the top Ethereum whale “BlueWhale0073” has just loaded up more than $1.5 million worth of SHIB in one massive transaction. In total, 163,286,048,050 (163.28B) SHIB tokens were picked up by the whale worth $1,575,710 ($1.57M).

The massive accumulation from the ETH whale comes after Shiba Inu comes to retest its recently conquered resistance level (previous support) located at $0.0000090 on the daily chart. Shiba Inu’s price surges more than 33% on June 21st. This surge in the price of SHIB results in the breakout of the current resistance level.

On Tuesday, the popular canine-themed token gathered the bullish momentum from the price level of $0.000008049 and reaches the high of $0.00001182, becoming the most profitable asset among the top 20 cryptocurrencies of the world. Afterward, the price gets a breather at the top and retraced towards the recent breakout level i.e., $0.0000090.

At the time of writing, the price of Shiba Inu is trading at the price of $0.00001001, showing an increase of more than 2% over the last day, with a 24-hour trading volume of $1,114,581,370 ($1.11B).

Bitcoin Already Down 70% Gets More Shorts From Wall Street As ProShares Short BTC Fund Trades Over 870K Shares

0

Wall Street Investors have shown a massive interest in the ProShares short Bitcoin strategy fund amid price declines in crypto assets.

ProShares has announced that its recently-launched short Bitcoin fund has already started recording significant growth less than two days after it made its debut on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

The leading Exchange-traded fund (ETF) provider noted in an announcement that the newly launched short bitcoin strategy fund successfully traded 870,000 shares ($35 million) on its second day of trading on the NYSE.

Michael L. Sapir, CEO of ProShares, made known the company’s excitement in providing crypto-related investors access to the first short Bitcoin ETF in the U.S., adding:

“The reception that BITI is getting in the market affirms investor demand for a convenient and cost-effective ETF to potentially profit or hedge their cryptocurrency holdings when bitcoin drops in value.”

ProShares Launches First Short BTC Fund in the U.S.

ProShares short Bitcoin fund was launched earlier this week on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker BITI. The fund is designed to give investors ways to profit from the world’s largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization when its price dips.

The launch of BITI helped ProShares become the first inverse ETF in the U.S. that is heavily tied to the top asset class, Bitcoin.

With BITI, investors would not have to go through the stringent process required to gain access to the short spot Bitcoin.

According to ProShares, the BITI fund delivers an inverse performance of the S&P CME Bitcoin Futures index. It is noteworthy that BITI made its debut just eight months after ProShares launched its first Bitcoin futures ETF.

Commenting on BITI’s launch, Douglas Yones, head of exchange traded products at the NYSE, said:

“We are pleased to welcome BITI, ProShares’ new inverse bitcoin ETF, to the NYSE, the home of innovation in the ETF industry. With BITI and its earlier launch of BITO, ProShares is now the first issuer to offer ETFs that provide opportunities when bitcoin increases and decreases in value.”

Bitcoin Recent Negative Performance

ProShares’ short Bitcoin fund came at the right time for investors to take advantage of, especially as the asset class price continued to record a massive decline.

Bitcoin, which started the year above $45,000 has fallen massively. The asset class plunged below $19,000 over the weekend, with investors suffering significant losses.

BTC is currently trading at $20,300, which is down 1% in the last 24 hours.

Ethereum Prepares For The “Gray Glacier” Upgrade To Delay The Difficulty Bomb For Months

0

The Ethereum network is scheduled to undergo an upgrade dubbed “Gray Glacier” upgrade meant to postpone the difficulty bomb.

Wednesday, June 29, 2022, will be an important day for the Ethereum network and its community. This is the day that the Gray Glacier upgrade is expected to be implemented under IEP-5133.

What Is It?

The Gray Glacier upgrade is designed to push back the estimated time for the next difficult bomb by 700,000 blocks. This means that the bomb will be delayed by around 100 days. Basically, the Ethereum difficulty bomb is the mechanism that hardens the mining algorithms to make them more difficult to solve.

This has the effect of lengthening blocks and block times. In effect, fewer rewards are given. From a more critical perspective, the Ethereum difficulty bomb can be compared to Bitcoin’s network rewards halving where rewards are slashed by half.

The Gray Glacier upgrade is expected to take place at 15,050,000 on the Ethereum network. According to an announcement posted by the Ethereum Foundation, this isn’t the first such upgrade to happen on Ethereum. A similar change was implemented during earlier upgrades including Byzantium, Muir Glacier, Arrow Glacier, London, and Constantinople. The Gray Glacier upgrade will be implemented directly into the mainnet as opposed to the testnet since it only makes changes to the mainnet.

How To Prepare For The Upgrade

Users are advised to be prepared for the upgrade. Those running Ethereum nodes are required to upgrade to the new versions compatible with the upgrade. As such, there are now new client versions of Besu, Erigon, geth, and Nethermind.

Miners and node operators who don’t install the new client versions before the upgrade risk being left behind in the old network rules. Basically, a network upgrade updates the rules and parameters for nodes, meaning that any nodes not updated will be stuck in the old system and will therefore be incompatible with the new system.

As for the ETH holders using exchanges or wallets, no action is needed since the upgrade doesn’t affect how ETH tokens work.

Binance To Support:

Binance is going to support the Ethereum upcoming upgrade.

According to the exchange, “the ETH network upgrade will occur at the Ethereum block height of 15,050,000, or approximately at 2022-06-29 10:43 (UTC). Deposits and withdrawals of ETH and ERC-20 tokens will be suspended starting from 2022-06-29 09:43 (UTC).”

Terra’s Do Kwon Tells Wall Street Journal He Is Not A Fraudster And Is Reeling In Regrets For His Arrogant Utterances In Past

Terra founder Do Kwon says he regrets the arrogant things he said when Terra was strong.

A few weeks ago, the Terra community was treated to an agonizing fall of their ecosystem. Terra Luna and UST’s prices crashed hard, sending them into the penny zone way below the dollar point. Since then, Terra founder Do Kwon has been trying to revive the system. His plan was to launch a new Terra 2.0 blockchain that would reclaim the lost glory of the ecosystem. However, Terra 2.0, along with Luna 2.0, don’t seem to be making many headwinds in the market.

During an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Do Kwon had a few things to get off his chest:

“Build Back Stronger”

According to Kwon, Terra has an opportunity to build back stronger. He believes the ecosystem may surpass the stage it was in before the crash. By this, he means Terra 2.0, the new blockchain that came with new Luna tokens named Luna 2.0. It’s still not clear what Kwon’s plans are for the collapsed Luna Classic and UST.

“I have great confidence in our ability to build back even stronger than we once were,”

Not A Fraudster

Going on, Do Kwon claimed that he was among the thousands of people affected by the UST crash, adding that he lost money in it. In his view, all the “confident” statements he made, which a lot of people seem to think were arrogant statements, were on behalf of UST because he had confidence in it. Do Kwon refuted claims that he is a fraudster.

He said,

“I made confident bets and made confident statements on behalf of UST because I believed in its resilience and its value proposition. I’ve since lost these bets, but my actions 100% match my words. There is a difference between failing and running a fraud.”

He also seemed to feel for the investors who lost their savings in the process.

“I’ve been devastated by recent events and hope that all the families who’ve been impacted are taking care of themselves and those that they love.”

Kwon when questioned how do feel about what your tweets and things u have been saying in the past,

Kwon said to WSJ:

” I really do regret some of the things I said in the past.”

People Aren’t Buying The Act

However, there are those who still don’t take Do Kwon seriously – at least not anymore. Mati Greenspan, who is the founder and CEO of Quantum Economics, isn’t very confident about believing Do Kwon’s words.

“I don’t understand why anybody in their right mind would want to invest in Luna 2 after watching Luna 1 blow up so dramatically.”

Cory Klippsten, the CEO of Swan Bitcoin, thinks Kwon runs a high-level scam. That’s especially judging from the way he tweeted and engaged with the crypto community.

“It was just really obvious from seeing how this guy tweeted, and how he spoke on camera, and how he carried himself that he was a fraudster.”

Cardano Bags Gold Membership In The Linux Foundation

0

Cardano has joined the globally recognized Linux Foundation in the capacity of a Gold Member.

Cardano has been a major force in the crypto and blockchain industry. The company has managed to keep upgrading its network, with the next upgrade, dubbed the Vasil upgrade, slated for the near future. Now, Cardano has taken a step to join the Linux Foundation.

The Linux Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting a free code society via sharing of innovation and resources in an open source setup. Software companies contribute a great deal to this goal, and that’s why Cardano is joining the foundation.

Following the decision to admit Cardano, the Linux Foundation took to Twitter to announce the development. The Cardano community is overjoyed with the news. Earlier on, a clip from a recent event at the foundation was retweeted by Cardano’s community handle on Twitter.

What It Means For Cardano

Joining the Linux Foundation is a great play by Cardano in terms of publicity and acceptance as a global force regarding blockchain development. The company’s developer team, IOHK, has made a name as one of the strongest coding teams in the world. This is especially apparent from the many upgrades that the Cardano network has undergone over the past few years.

The move will also popularize Cardano’s products and possibly affect ADA’s price upwards in the future. However, the effects of ADA may not be felt now because of the prevailing harsh market conditions.

Ripple Opens Toronto Engineering Hub to Drive Cryptocurrency Innovation

Ripple Opens Toronto Engineering Hub.

Blockchain and cryptocurrency solutions company, Ripple, made the announcement today of a new office that will be located in Toronto and will serve as a key engineering hub.

Ripple is going to open its first office in Canada, which will support the company’s continued expansion throughout North America and beyond.

The company intends to start by recruiting fifty software engineers in the city of Toronto, with the long-term objective of recruiting hundreds of blockchain software engineers, in addition to applied machine learning scientists, data scientists, and product managers.

Although some of Ripple’s competitors in the industry have announced layoffs and hiring freezes, our top priority continues to be recruiting world-class talent who will assist us in innovating new products and better serving our clients in the years to come.

Ripple opened new offices in key cities all over the world in just the past year, including Miami and Dublin, and the company has plans to hire hundreds of people all over the world in 2022.

The opening of Ripple’s Toronto office further demonstrates the company’s commitment to a region that is already a well-known technology hub. Ripple is going to cultivate a culture of crypto innovation in Toronto by drawing from the local talent pool and recruiting top engineers.

Ripple has deep ties to the Toronto community thanks to its University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI) and its collaboration with prestigious educational institutions and colleges in the area, such as the University of Waterloo and the Toronto Metropolitan University. Together, Ripple and UBRI provide students with opportunities to acquire strong technical skills and support leading research in several key areas of blockchain and cryptocurrency technology.

Brad Garlinghouse, CEO of Ripple: “Nearly every financial institution is coming up with its crypto strategy to take advantage of this technology that will underpin our future global financial systems”.

The opening of the Toronto office further solidifies Ripple’s commitment to a region that is already a prominent tech hub.  Mayor of the City of Toronto John Tory says Ripple’s first-mover attitude will be a perfect fit for Toronto’s diverse, entrepreneurial, and committed spirit.

“SEC Lawsuit Negative Impact”: SBI Africa Promises To Use XRPL If Ripple Wins SEC Case

0

Fingers Crossed As SBI Africa Promises To Use XRPL If Ripple Wins SEC Case.

SBI Japan is a major partner of Ripple.  SBI is Ripple’s largest shareholder and the CEO yoshitaka_kitao is a believer in XRP. Still, SBI Africa needs Ripple to win the SEC case to continue with XRP in Africa.

“Mr. Kitao of SBI gave an investor presentation today in Nagoya. On page 164 of 187 pages, it’s stated, #XRP ODL will be examined for utilization in the SBI Motor Africa business model when @Ripple‘s U.S. trial has ended in desired results.”

XRP’s future is currently stuck at the crossroads as Ripple and SEC await a court decision on its market status.

In late December 2020, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) moved to court to file a case against Ripple, the creator of XRP. The case has dragged on to 2022 and still going on. Granted, it has been a grueling engagement that has seen Ripple and SEC relentlessly after each other.

Ripple has been a globally popular company. It has even scored deals with various financial institutions, government institutions, and even central banks to use its XRPL system. The Ledger uses XRP as the base currency for cross-border funds transfers. Now, another large and global company, SBI, has expressed interest in using the Ledger, but under the condition that Ripple wins the case against SEC.

Why Is Ripple In Court?

Apparently, the US SEC accuses Ripple of illegally raising over $1.3 billion from the sale of its XRP crypto tokens. According to SEC, XRP should be classified as a security as opposed to a cryptocurrency. Ripple maintains that XRP is a decentralized cryptocurrency with various use cases in the crypto and blockchain world.

Ripple Must Win

According to a post shared by John Deaton, a lot of people seem to underestimate the negative impact created by the ongoing case. For, instance, XRP and Ripple have thrived outside the United States where XRP is deemed a functional cryptocurrency. The company has been expanding, even going on a hiring spree, in other parts of the world.

“I’ve stated for over a year that many Ripple and #XRP supporters underestimate the negative impact the SEC lawsuit has had. B/c Ripple has done well outside the U.S. and is hiring, etc., people say otherwise. But XRP must be deemed a non-security in the US to fulfill its promise.”

However, the legal scuffles going on in the US market against XRP’s status threaten to hurt this progress. For this reason, John is of the opinion that Ripple must win this battle. This notion is clearly demonstrated by SBI’s decision to wait until the case is decided before it can enter business with Ripple. The US court must deem XRP a cryptocurrency and not a security if Ripple continues engaging with large companies like SBI Africa.

NFL Player Trevor Lawrence Lose Millions Of Dollars In Bitcoin After Receiving $24M Signing Bonus In BTC

Football Quarterback Trevor Lawrence Lose Millions Of Dollars In Bitcoin.

Word on the streets has it that football player Trevor Lawrence’s wealth may be down by $15 million due to the Bitcoin crash.

Truth be told, the 2022 crypto crash is inflicting pain in all corners of the community. However, it’s notable that a lot of big-money investors, seem to put their money in Bitcoin. That’s what Trevor Lawrence did. Trevor is a popular American football quarterback playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL.

Apparently, when he joined the team, Trevor received a signing package amounting to around roughly $24M. Trevor decided to partner with Blockfolio, to have his signing bonus paid in Bitcoin.

Bitcoin Nosedived

When he received his bonus in BTC, the coin was valued at around $54k per piece. Since then, BTC has shed close to 60% of its value. At press time, BTC is worth roughly $20,700. This means that Trevor’s stash is now worth less than half its original value in USD. His $24M USD is now worth only $8.96M.

However, it’s notable that after Trevor received his payment, Bitcoin’s price skyrocketed to the high of $69k before going down. In this case, he could have made a significant profit if he cashed out.

He’s Not Alone

Trevor Lawrence isn’t the only sports personality to bet on cryptos. According to a list posted by Sentinel reporter David Furones mentioned above, a number of others did the same. Still, Trevor put in the highest amount.

Is It Truly Gone, Though?

The report about this loss has fueled a debate on whether it’s really smart to put money in cryptocurrencies like BTC. According to some, who somehow appear not to know much about the crypto industry, it’s a bad move that leads to loss of money. This notion can be seen in how Trevor’s apparent loss is reported. From a rookie’s point of view, he totally lost money. From a crypto-savvy point of view, his BTC stash is simply temporarily devalued.

The crypto market has had its ups and downs over the years. A bear market, regardless of how long it takes, always ends up turning into a strong bull run. In this case, Trevor Lawrence could be in for huge profits when BTC finally pumps if he didn’t cash out his stash.

Market Strategist Says Bitcoin Will Recover in 2-3 Years, May Crash To $10k As Markets Have Tendency To Run Stops

0

Gareth Soloway thinks Bitcoin will recover in 2-3 years but stocks will remain bearish for years to come.

A global recession is looming, and analysts and strategists are working round the clock to decipher the future of global markets.

Effects of inflation are making this endeavor even harder. One of these strategists is Gareth Soloway, who works as the chief strategist at InTheMoneyStocks.com. During a recent interview with Kitco News, Gareth had a few insights to share.

First off, it’s worth noting that just last year, Gareth predicted the fall of Bitcoin to the $20k range. As expected, there were those who felt that he was wrong. As it stands now, it seems that he was right in every possible way. At this time, BTC is trading at around $20,764 – as shown on CoinMarketCap.

$10k Is Possible

While Gareth isn’t entirely bearish on Bitcoin, he doesn’t seem to be so bullish on its short-term performance either. According to him, the coin is on its way to the $10k range, but that won’t happen overnight. Gareth predicts that BTC’s price will need to jump up to around $25k – $30k before the bears charge again. When that happens, the coin will free-fall all the way down to the $10k range.

He further says that markets don’t act according to people’s emotions. At the moment majority thinks that 20K will hold for Bitcoin, but markets love to run through stop losses to freak people.

“when you have everyone calling for a low [price] of $20K, you have a lot of people putting stops just under $20K, and it’s the tendency of a market to run those stops, make people freak out, make the weak hands exit, and then you finally get a short-term bottom… I still see more downside, I still think that we will head down to $12K and that a price below $10K is very possible.”

Interestingly, Gareth sees this happening within the next 6 months. Looking at the current market conditions and the widespread expectations of what’s about to come, Gareth may be passing on an important point. For one, there have been heavy sentiments indicating that the crypto market is about to enter what has been dubbed as “crypto winter” when bears take over for an extended period. A similar case occurred back in 2019 when BTC fell to $3k.

However, according to Gareth, this trend will revert in the next 2-3 years and BTC will pump all the way up to the $65k. Gareth’s sentiments of a BTC recovery at that time window may be informed by the market shifts that usually come with a Bitcoin network halving. The next BTC halving is expected to occur sometime in May 2024.

Stocks To Hurt For Years

As for the stocks, the strategist doesn’t see much to be optimistic about, especially since mainstream inflation tends to hurt them badly. He reminded that after the recession of 2008, the economy was quick to recover because the Fed had enough room to act. This time around, they don’t have that many options. The high inflation won’t give much room for printing more money. As such, the stock market will remain down for years until inflation is dealt with.

Can Writing Be Made Into An NFT?

0

The concept of NFT is relatively new to the crypto world, but it has a lot of potential, and independent writers may be able to benefit from it too. An NFT is unique, impossible to replicate, and only exists in the digital spheres. For writers, it can be an avenue to sell poetry or books to readers directly while beating the long and complex traditional publishing process. It also allows writers to earn money instantly. So, if you’re a writer who values your creative freedom, the idea of NFTs is an incredible prospect.

What are NFTs?

NFTs are digital collectibles, similar to the baseball cards many of us collected as kids. It can be in the form of art, music, video, or book. This digital file has its ownership recorded within the blockchain. This new digital concept has exploded across many fields and is projected to have a massive impact on the literary world. If you’re a writer, you should be looking into NFTs and how you can benefit from them.

How can writers create NFTs?

All kinds of media can be used to create NFTs, but the most popular ones are video, music, and GIF illustrations, and the most commonly used file formats are JPG, GIF, PNG, WAV, MP4, and OGG. Although NFTs don’t have a limit on file uploads, they’re minted to a marketplace that places that limit on them. Also, before minting, they must be in specific compatible file formats.

The most popular marketplace for NFTs sales is OpenSea, and this platform doesn’t allow document files. However, other marketplaces such as Mintbase, Unique. One, and DaVinci Gallery all support PDF files.

Although BooksGoSocial is not a marketplace for NFTs, it allows writers to bundle their works with NFTs. It’s also a carbon-efficient platform, built on the WAX blockchain and not Ethereum.

How do NFT ebooks work?

When a digital ebook is sold as an NFT, it doesn’t work similarly to how others purchased online through Amazon and the like. Instead, book NFTs work similarly to books that an author signs at a book convention, even digitally. It’s not that you own the only copy of the book that was released, but you own one of only fifty copies of the book that was released and isn’t easily reproducible by anyone.

This allows famous writers to release exclusive content as NFTs for first buyers. There can also be exclusive video, audio files, live readings, GIFs, and illustrations. The more exclusive the content is, the better. This means that an NFT book can be bundled with a one-of-a-kind supplement material that appears like a highly coveted buy for real fans.

An ebook minted as an NFT can include additional files with the entire manuscript and unique content. The additional files can be used as an important selling point, even more than the copy itself.

Several blogs, including dissertation services, sell special courses and guides, and you simply have to sign up for their email service. Similarly, NFT writers can create special PDFs as limited editions with unique content and custom-made guides to a blog’s following.

Exposure through literary NFTs

Making your book into an NFT can give it a bigger kind of exposure than social media platforms alone can give it. You can promote it through r/NFTs, Discord groups, Twitter giveaways, and Facebook groups. Even if you struggle to sell it for 50ETH, the amount of promotion you need for an NFT is similar to the kind of marketing any standalone book needs to get sold.

Benefits of NFT ebooks

There are several benefits that writers stand to gain from turning their literary works into NFTs, and two of such benefits are:

Bundling

Writers with a specific fandom can start to make a special collection of chapters, short stories, and exclusive feature content for fans purchasing the NFT version of their writings. This is, in fact, the popular way that independent writers and those with dissertation services and other writing services can make their ebook NFT more appealing to fans.

The visual parts like enticing video and graphics or other concepts make video and illustration NFTs appealing. If you combine this with a compelling non-fiction book or novel, you have the recipe for success.

Many published authors may choose the cover art for their novel while passing on several good proposals. Rather than discard them, they can also become NFT content readers get after purchasing the book.

Bundling makes it easy to see that fans of the trilogy will love the NFT version more than the standard book copy. Another possible idea for bundling is to sell both physical and digital content simultaneously. For instance, Nike sells physical artwork and digital content for the metaverse. Writers should be able to do the same.

Royalties

Amazon and other publishing platforms take their cut from sales commissions, but the royalty rate for NFTs is much higher, and it all goes to the author.

The standard royalty rate is usually around 15% because of the many transaction fees you have to pay as an NFT trader, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be higher. Every time the book NFT is sold or resold, your percentage of the royalties comes to you.

You shouldn’t underestimate the fact that you get some percentage of royalties every time someone buys your NFT ebook. NFT gives you the power as the writer, taking away middlemen and ensuring your hard-earned money comes to you directly.

Conclusion

NFT will soon explode in the literary world because of how it benefits writers. It’s only a matter before most books are sold as NFTs.
