‘You know What Happens Next’ As XRP Bollinger Bandwidth Slumps

0

XRP may be warming up for a price explosion similar to the November 2024 rally, as its Bollinger Bandwidth slumps to historically low levels.

While XRP has continued to consolidate after the correction from $3.4 in mid-January, current market indicators suggest it may already be on the verge of another leg up. Notably, market analyst Mr. Xoom called attention to one such indicator in a recent analysis.

The analyst highlighted XRP’s Bollinger Bandwidth on the daily chart, which has continued to collapse or tighten over the past few months.

“Every time we’ve seen this happen, you know what happens next.”

XRP Bollinger Bandwidth Contracts

For the uninitiated, a consistent drop or narrowing of the Bollinger Bandwidth indicates that the underlying crypto token is trading within a tight range, showing market indecision and consolidation.

Historically, such tightening conditions often confirm that the market could witness massive expansion or explosive volatility shortly. For XRP, data from Mr. Xoom’s chart shows a consistent drop in the daily Bollinger Bandwidth, which had slumped to 11.53 at the time of his disclosure.

However, at the time of reporting, this figure has collapsed further to 10.59, a massive crash from the 147.33 peak XRP witnessed in November 2024 amid the impressive uptrend that resulted in a break above the $1, $2, and $3 psychological price levels.

Interestingly, XRP saw a similar drop in its daily Bollinger Bandwidth right before the November 2024 explosive surge. Specifically, as XRP consolidated around the $0.5 region at the beginning of Q4 2024, its Bandwidth crashed to 5.81 in late October, one of the lowest levels in 2024.

After this, XRP witnessed the Trump-led explosive run that allowed it to soar from $0.5 in November 2024 to $3.4 in January 2025, marking a 580% rise within three months. As the Bollinger Bandwidth continuously drops toward the October 2024 levels, analysts like Mr. Xoom expect another XRP upsurge soon.

Why XRP is Likely to Break Upward

However, it is important to note that while such a drastic drop in the Bollinger Bandwidth often precedes a sudden spike in volatility, this explosion could either lead to a sharp price uptick or sharp price collapse, depending on the direction of the breakout at the time.

Nonetheless, Mr. Xoom is confident that the breakout would lead to an uptrend, due in large part to the symmetrical triangle structure formed by XRP since it dropped from $3.4 in January. Currently, XRP is already eyeing the upper trendline, which indicates that if volatility returns, a breach above is more likely.

Also, considering the previous upsurge from November 2024, essentially forming a flagpole, the current consolidation resembles a bull flag structure. While this structure has extended for too long to still be considered a bull flag, the preceding uptrend still points to a possible bullish breakout.

If the breakout takes the form of a bull flag upsurge, then XRP could skyrocket to $4.7, considering the flagpole height of $2.4 and the potential breakout point of $2.3. Notably, this would mark a 109% increase from XRP’s current price of $2.24.

First XRP ETF Launch in Canada Confirmed, Trading Date Announced

0

The first spot XRP ETF in North America would debut tomorrow as Purpose Investments receives final approval to launch the XRP-focused product.

The Canadian-based asset manager is set to launch the Purpose XRP ETF on June 18, putting pressure on other regions, including the United States. According to a press release, the fund would trade on a top stock exchange in the country, offering users alternative exposure to XRP, the native token of the Layer 1 network XRP Ledger.

Purpose Investment to Launch Spot XRP ETF

Meanwhile, Purpose, which was the first to launch a spot Bitcoin ETF in 2021, is on track to become the first to debut an XRP-focused spot exchange-traded fund in North America. It received the final prospectus receipt yesterday and will immediately start offering the ETF tomorrow.

The fund will list under the ticker XRPP on the Toronto Stock Exchange, offering investors the opportunity to gain exposure to the prominent cryptocurrency. Purpose began the ETF process on January 31, when it filed an initial prospectus with the Canadian securities regulator.

Less than six months later, Purpose received the final approval from the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) to launch the product in Canada. The ETF launch would mark a major milestone for XRP, further underscoring broadening institutional traction towards the fourth-largest cryptocurrency by market cap.

Altcoin ETFs Gaining Traction

Interestingly, Purpose will not be the first to launch a spot XRP ETF. Hashdex launched a similar product in Brazil, the first of its kind globally. The fund launched on Brazil’s leading stock exchange, B3, under the ticker XRPH11 on April 25.

Meanwhile, other asset managers are also looking to launch the product, particularly in the US, as altcoin ETFs gain momentum. Asset managers like Bitwise, Grayscale, and Franklin Templeton, which has an intermediate deadline of today, have all applied for a spot XRP ETF.

Recent analysis from Bloomberg senior analyst Eric Balchunas suggests that an XRP ETF has an 85% chance of approval this year, with the expectation that the US SEC will approve the fund in the last quarter of the year. Blockworks co-founder Jason Yanowitz also shares a similar sentiment, insisting the XRP-focused ETFs would launch next after Solana’s.

Moreover, the US SEC has recently initiated proceedings to decide on WisdomTree’s spot XRP ETF, further fueling confidence that the product tracking the altcoin will launch soon. If approved, analyses suggest it would have a massive impact on XRP’s price.

DAG Managing Director Jake Claver predicted that XRP’s price would rally when the funds launch, suggesting it could mirror Bitcoin’s success. Another theory projects an XRP price of $12 if the XRP ETFs capture 15% of Bitcoin ETFs’ inflows.

For The First Time Ever in XRP 12-Year History, Wallets Holding 1M XRP are Now Over 2,700

0

Traction towards the XRP Ledger has increased extensively lately as network activities and XRP whale presence reach new average highs.

Santiment reported this increased attraction as the broader market shows signs of recovery. Specifically, XRP recovered from a low of $2.08 last week to briefly reclaim $2.33 on Monday before relinquishing some of its gains.

Meanwhile, it is interesting to note that the number of daily average transactions on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) and the number of whales have outpaced prices, renewing bullish sentiments among proponents of the XRP ecosystem.

Whale Wallets Hit New All-Time High

In a recent disclosure, Santiment noted that whale and shark wallets holding at least 1 million XRP have reached an unprecedented high.

Currently, over 2,700 unique addresses hold 1 million or more XRP, as whales leverage XRP’s recent bearish consolidation around the lower end of $2 to accumulate the Ledger’s native token. Specifically, Santiment noted that 2,708 unique wallets have XRP worth $2.25 million or more for the first time in the asset’s over 12-year history.

Remarkably, this is not the only metric on the rise on the XRP Ledger; the number of daily active users has also been rising considerably over the past week.

Interaction With the XRP Ledger Trounces Its 3-Month Average

Santiment has also identified a trend of increased user transactions within the XRP Ledger. It noted that the number of active daily transactions on the blockchain has outpaced its norm for the past three months.

For context, the daily active addresses had trended at approximately 35,000 to 40,000 before now. This network metric dropped drastically from its levels in early to mid-March, with the number of average daily users receding considerably from the daily highs of over 540,000 at some point.

However, crypto users appear to have rekindled their interest in the XRP Ledger, Santiment noted. Active addresses now trend at a daily average of over 295,000 per day, a staggering 637.5% increase over the past week.

Network Activity Surge in the XRP Ledger

Meanwhile, Santiment clarified that this average utility accounts for both senders and receivers, addressing a reaction from the XRPL dUNL validator Vet. He pointed out that the unique active senders in the XRP Ledger have remained relatively stable since the spikes in late last year and early 2025, citing data from XRPScan.

Nonetheless, Santiment stated that the metric considered both sending and receiving addresses, with the analysis suggesting that these spikes likely came from active receivers.

Interestingly, this strong traction may have contributed to XRP’s spike to $2.33 yesterday before correcting slightly to close at $2.23. Moreover, such massive network activity, especially considering it is a strong accumulation trend, usually precedes a massive price rally.

In the meantime, XRP remains below $3, with analysts suggesting that prices may not stay that low for long. Analyst Crypto Beast recently predicted that XRP holders would make a lot of money this bull cycle, as momentum from the regulatory clarity and an imminent symmetrical breakout could push prices to at least $8 this cycle.

XRP trades at $2.24 at the time of writing.

New “JPMD” Trademark Hints at JPMorgan Stablecoin

0

JPMorgan Chase has filed a new trademark application for “JPMD” with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The filing, submitted on June 15, outlines plans for digital asset-related services, including trading, exchange, and payment functions.

Listed under the Principal Register, the application remains in early review, pointing to initial steps rather than finalized services. The move arrives as Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies continue to draw institutional interest, even amid ongoing criticism from top banking executives.

Filing Suggests Stablecoin Interest

The “JPMD” trademark application falls under a service mark category. The document outlines intentions to offer secure financial transactions using blockchain and digital currency systems.

According to details from the USPTO website, JPMorgan’s trademark application outlines a broad range of digital asset services, including issuance, trading, exchange, custody, and payment processing for various forms of virtual and blockchain-based currencies.

It also covers securities brokerage, debt settlement, asset management using distributed ledger technology, stored value accounts, and real-time trading capabilities.

Additionally, the filing includes data-sharing tools for fraud detection, account validation, and cross-border payments, indicating plans for a comprehensive blockchain-powered financial infrastructure.

JPMorgan already operates JPM Coin, a blockchain settlement token used internally for institutional clients. This existing infrastructure sets a precedent for possible public-facing digital currency services.

Although the application does not confirm the launch of a new stablecoin, watchers have linked the trademark’s language with stablecoin-related capabilities due to its alignment with dollar-based asset mechanisms.

JPMorgan Broader Crypto Pivot

In parallel with the trademark activity, Bloomberg reported that JPMorgan plans to roll out a new product allowing clients to use crypto ETFs as loan collateral. This offering would be available to trading and wealth management clients.

Despite these moves, JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon remains critical of Bitcoin. In a recent CNBC interview, he compared the cryptocurrency to cigarettes, maintaining that he would defend investors’ rights to buy it, even though he personally would not own any. Dimon reiterated that Bitcoin serves limited legitimate use cases and is often associated with illicit activities.

Crypto Founder Predicts Timeline For XRP To Reach $10,000

Jake Claver, Managing Director of Digital Ascension Group, has rejuvenated discussions around XRP reaching $10,000, and this time, adding an ambitious timeline.

In a tweet, he shared a video in which he explained the concept of XRP requiring a specific price point to efficiently move large amounts of money for institutions. Claver noted that on the XRP network, the higher the price of XRP, the more money it can move with a smaller amount of tokens.

To support this view, he cited a popular example given by Ripple CTO David Schwartz. Specifically, Schwartz famously stated that moving $1 million with XRP requires 1 million tokens, assuming a unit price of $1.

However, if XRP were at $10 per token, the network would need only 100,000 tokens to move $1 million. In a hypothetical scenario where 1 XRP is worth $1 million, just one token would be sufficient to transfer $1 million.

Essentially, Claver explained that the XRP network becomes significantly more efficient as the price increases.

XRP Is “Programmed” to Reach $10,000 per Coin

Given this reasoning, some XRP proponents speculate that the price is destined to rise far beyond its current level of around $2. Specifically, Claver argued that XRP is “programmed” to reach approximately $10,000 per coin.

To put this in perspective, XRP cannot currently move a single trillion-dollar transaction at its $2 price point with a market cap of $136 billion, as the existing liquidity in the system cannot support such large-scale transfers.

However, at a hypothetical price of $10,000 per coin, implying over $585 trillion in available liquidity, XRP could theoretically handle transactions of $1 trillion with ease.

Based on this logic, Claver argued that $10,000 per coin is the price point at which XRP starts to realize significant efficiencies. Interestingly, he went on to assert the ambitious belief that this price level could happen in about 24 months.

Claver’s statement presents a bold scenario in which XRP reaches $10,000 per coin “as programmed,” enabling greater financial efficiency by 2027.

Industry Pushback on the $10,000 XRP Claim

As expected, this bold claim has faced resistance from other market commentators, particularly due to the aggressive timeline.

The idea of XRP reaching $10,000 has long been a recurring theme within the XRP community. While many consider it unrealistic in the near term, some influential voices like Claver continue to promote the narrative.

A key point of contention is the market cap implication of such a price level, which would exceed $500 trillion. However, Claver has previously argued that market cap is irrelevant for XRP. Proponents of this view often claim that XRP doesn’t require trillion-dollar liquidity to reach such high valuations.

On the other hand, critics remain skeptical.  As Alex Caraco, former CEO of an Australian stock market firm, puts it:

“It’s sad to see buyers sold the story of $10,000 XRP happening tomorrow.”

If XRP Reaches $1 Trillion Market Cap, Here’s What Your 5K or 10K XRP Could Be Worth

0

XRP investors holding 5,000 or 10,000 tokens could see impressive returns on their investments if XRP’s market cap ever claims the $1 trillion milestone.

The broader crypto market has remained in a state of flux amid the wider conflict in the Middle East, but perhaps a consolidation is a better response than an outright crash. Amid this range-bound phase, XRP has also failed to recover fully despite an uptick this week.

XRP Could Claim a $1T Valuation

While XRP is up over 3% since the start of the week, it remains below the pivotal $2.2 region at press time. Since February, XRP has continued to trade around this mark, unable to make a decisive move. Despite this, most analysts insist that a full-blown rebound similar to the 2017 price action could spring up.

Amid the persistent optimism, predictions of an XRP surge to a $1 trillion market cap have emerged. A week ago, market analyst EGRAG suggested that a W formation on the XRP market cap chart could push the asset’s valuation to around $1 trillion.

Interestingly, last month, The Crypto Basic presented an assessment from xAI’s Grok regarding the capital influx required for XRP to claim a $1 trillion market cap. Meanwhile, earlier in the year, Omni founder Austin King suggested that XRP needs to expand its utility in the global DeFi scene and improve interoperability to have a chance at being a $1 trillion asset.

How Much Your 5,000 or 10,000 XRP Will be Worth if XRP Market Cap Hits $1T

As these discussions gain ground, several investors are already anticipating an XRP rally to the $1 trillion market cap, a feat only Bitcoin has managed among crypto assets. While community pundits like Edoardo Farina have urged investors to amass some 5,000 to 10,000 XRP, investors could come to wonder what these investments would be worth if XRP hits a $1 trillion valuation.

For context, should XRP claim a $1 trillion market cap, its price could skyrocket to $16.9 per token, considering the 58.88 billion circulating supply. At this price, your 5,000 XRP and 10,000 XRP investments could see some substantial returns.

Specifically, today, an investor would need to spend $21,900 to procure 10,000 XRP tokens at the current price of $2.19. Meanwhile, for those looking to amass just 5,000 tokens, an initial investment of $10,950 is necessary. If XRP claims the $1 trillion market cap, translating to a price of $16.9, the 10,000 tokens would be worth $169,000, while the 5,000 XRP would be valued at $84,500.

France Considers Bitcoin Mining to Repurpose €80M in Wasted Energy and Stabilize Grid

French lawmakers have submitted a proposal to the National Assembly to integrate Bitcoin mining into France’s national energy strategy.

The initiative seeks to repurpose the country’s recurring electricity surpluses from nuclear energy into economic and industrial value by leveraging Bitcoin mining’s flexible energy demands.

Turning Waste into Wealth by Harnessing €80M in Lost Electricity

France, one of the world’s leaders in clean energy production, generates over 70% of its electricity from nuclear power. However, the downside of this stable yet rigid energy supply is frequent overproduction.

In 2024 alone, nearly €80 million worth of electricity went unused, according to energy researcher Raphaël Bloch.

The new proposal, submitted as Amendment No. 547, argues that Bitcoin mining could transform this excess energy into a productive asset. Mining operations are highly adaptable, unlike other industrial consumers. They can ramp up or shut down instantly based on electricity availability.

The proposal outlines a multi-pronged strategy, including deploying Bitcoin mining farms near power stations to absorb surplus generation. It also aims to reduce stress on nuclear reactors by minimizing the need for constant output modulation.

Additionally, the proposal would revive old industrial sites as mining centers, stimulating economic growth in underutilized areas. It also seeks to recycle waste heat from mining rigs for urban heating or industrial processes.

This approach would make Bitcoin mining a valuable energy sponge: a tool for grid balancing, energy efficiency, and emissions reduction.

Aligning with France’s Climate Goals

Lawmakers stressed that a regulated, low-carbon Bitcoin mining sector would not conflict with France’s decarbonization efforts. On the contrary, it could support them.

The initiative also aligns with France’s ambition to achieve energy sovereignty, foster technological innovation, and create new green jobs in emerging sectors.

Rethinking Bitcoin Mining is a Global Trend

Meanwhile, France is not alone in rethinking Bitcoin mining. In recent months, Belarus has initiated a study on using BTC mining to absorb excess power. Similarly, Pakistan has earmarked 2,000 megawatts of electricity for BTC and AI data centers.

Meanwhile, the state of Texas in the U.S. has championed mining as a way to stabilize its wind-heavy grid.

Bitcoin mining researcher Daniel Batten notes that this controllable energy demand is precisely what the future of affordable and abundant electricity requires.

Overall, these efforts confirm a change in how countries view Bitcoin mining. Rather than seeing it as an energy liability, they now recognize it as an infrastructure-level energy asset.

Trump’s Truth Social Files to Launch a Dual Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF

0

Truth Social, the social platform launched by U.S. President Donald Trump, has officially entered the digital asset investment space by filing to launch a dual Ethereum and Bitcoin ETF.

The filing, submitted on June 16, 2025, with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, introduces a proposed product named the Truth Social Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF. The fund, sponsored by Yorkville America Digital, LLC of Mountainside, New Jersey, seeks to provide exposure to both Bitcoin and Ethereum under a single trust structure.

This marks a notable shift from the predominantly single-asset format currently dominant in U.S. cryptocurrency exchange-traded products.

Dual Asset Approach Marks Market Diversification

Unlike other ETFs that focus on a single asset, this registration outlines a trust that would include Bitcoin and Ethereum. The structure appears to challenge conventional ETF designs, signaling a diversification approach within a single fund.

While the Form S-1 does not clearly state whether the ETF will maintain full spot asset holdings or employ a hybrid or futures-based strategy, it aligns with the regulatory framework of the Securities Act of 1933. This mirrors the registration process used by BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust and Fidelity’s FBTC.

The operational and legal foundation of the ETF is being managed by Yorkville America Digital. Despite being new to sponsoring crypto ETFs, the firm is leading the initiative on behalf of Truth Social. The move represents the platform’s expanding ambitions beyond social media engagement and into the capital markets sector.

Recent Bitcoin Treasury Activity

The ETF announcement follows closely after Trump Media and Technology Group disclosed plans for a substantial $2.3 billion Bitcoin acquisition. The SEC has officially approved the proposal, the company announced on Friday.

In other related news, President Trump’s newly released financial disclosure reveals significant earnings from his crypto venture, World Liberty Financial. The platform, introduced last summer, has brought in over $57 million from token sales, with Trump holding nearly 16 billion governance tokens.

Justin Sun’s Tron to Go Public via Reverse Merger with SRM

0

Justin Sun’s blockchain platform, Tron, is taking a significant step toward becoming a publicly traded firm in the United States.

According to the Financial Times, which cited two individuals with direct knowledge of the matter, Tron plans to go public through a reverse merger with Nasdaq-listed company SRM Entertainment.

Dominari Securities, a boutique investment bank affiliated with President Donald Trump’s sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, is reportedly arranging the deal. Notably, Eric Trump could assume a formal role in the newly formed entity, which will be named Tron Inc.

Tron Inc. to Buy and Hold TRX

The new venture will leverage MicroStrategy’s Bitcoin approach to buy and hold TRX, the native token of the Tron ecosystem. In line with this initiative, the sources disclosed that Tron will initially fund the reserve with $210 million worth of TRX.

Interestingly, this development comes nearly four months after the U.S. SEC agreed to pause its lawsuit against Sun and his companies, including the BitTorrent Foundation and the Tron Foundation.

In July 2023, the SEC charged Sun and his entities with offering unregistered securities and market manipulation. However, following a shift in the SEC’s crypto policy earlier this year, the regulator requested that a federal court pause the litigation.

Sun Strengthens Ties with Trump

With the case on hold, Sun has used the opportunity to deepen his relationship with Trump through the president’s growing crypto empire. The project reported nearly $60 million in revenue for 2024. As one of the 25 largest holders of the Official Trump meme coin, Sun attended a dinner with the U.S. President last month.

The Tron founder also invested $75 million in Trump’s DeFi project, World Liberty Financial. Interestingly, this significant investment earned him a spot on the project’s advisory team.

Meanwhile, the relationship between Sun and the Trump family appears far from over. Notably, World Liberty Financial currently holds over 40.68 million TRX, valued at $11.28 million, in its reserve.

Last week, the project added Tron to the list of supported blockchains for its dollar-pegged stablecoin, USD1. Now, Tron is set to go public in the U.S. through a reverse merger with SRM Entertainment, with Eric Trump potentially taking a formal role in the new venture.

TRX Soars Over 7%

Following the Financial Times report, TRX saw a sharp increase in price. The token surged to an intraday high of $0.29, marking a 7.36% gain from the day’s low. However, it has since retraced some of those gains and is currently trading at $0.2809, up 2.96% over the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, SRM Entertainment announced a $100 million equity investment deal that would enable it to buy and hold TRX as a treasury asset.

Cardano Founder Confirms Full XRP Package in the Works Around Glacier Airdrop, XRP DeFi, and RLUSD

0

The Cardano founder has confirmed working on a full XRP package for the Cardano ecosystem, which includes the glacier airdrop, XRP DeFi, and RLUSD integration.

Charles Hoskinson has confirmed that his team is working on a full package focused on the XRP ecosystem. This plan includes support for the upcoming Glacier Airdrop, potential XRP-powered DeFi tools, and discussions around bringing Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin to the Cardano network.

Hoskinson shared the update during a conversation on X after a community member asked for an update on RLUSD integration on Cardano. In his response, he said the work goes beyond RLUSD and involves a larger effort to connect more closely with the XRP community.

The Glacier Airdrop and XRP Support on Lace

A major part of this plan is the Glacier Airdrop, now scheduled for the last quarter of 2025. Originally expected earlier in the year, the airdrop will distribute Midnight tokens, used in Cardano’s privacy-focused sidechain, to retail users across several blockchains, including XRP holders.

Hoskinson has affirmed that the goal is to reward regular users, not big investors or venture capital firms. Notably, he described this as part of a “cooperative economics” model that puts the broader community first.

Roughly 37 million wallets will take part in the airdrop, including XRP holders. It is part of Cardano’s push for greater inclusion and cross-chain collaboration and also marks a major step toward healing the long-standing rift between Hoskinson and the XRP community.

Meanwhile, the full XRP package also includes XRP support in Lace. Specifically, Cardano’s Lace wallet is working toward integrating XRP support after introducing Bitcoin support with Lace version 1.22 in April.

The upgrade will let users manage XRP alongside ADA and other assets. Notably, it is a major step toward Cardano’s goal of becoming a multi-chain platform and turning Lace into a more complete tool for managing assets across different networks.

XRP DeFi on Cardano and RLUSD Integration

The third part of this package involves integrating XRP DeFi into Cardano. Hoskinson has confirmed that his team is exploring ways to bring XRP into Cardano’s DeFi space.

Specifically, these early-stage efforts focus on building cross-chain liquidity pools and decentralized exchanges that take advantage of XRP’s speed and low fees. However, these ideas are still in development at press time. Recently, Hoskinson confirmed that Midnight could serve as the DeFi layer on XRP, introducing better yields.

Meanwhile, as part of the fourth aspect of this full XRP package, talks are also underway between Cardano and Ripple about bringing RLUSD, Ripple’s U.S. dollar-backed stablecoin, to the Cardano network.

Hoskinson confirmed these early discussions and said both sides see value in the idea. Although no final decisions or timelines have been set, the move could help both platforms, by growing RLUSD’s user base and boosting activity within Cardano’s DeFi ecosystem.

Overall, the relationship between Cardano and the XRP ecosystem seems to be turning into a real partnership. While the idea remains a concept at press time, Hoskinson has confirmed that work is underway.
