Analyst Identifies Only Way Cardano Could Rally to $7

0

A market analyst suggests Cardano future gains depend on total market growth, but sees limited profit potential from current levels.

Cardano (ADA) has seen notable volatility over the past week. The token reached a local high of about $0.83 on May 23. However, within just two days, it dropped sharply to around $0.73. This decline appeared to reflect a sudden shift in investor sentiment or possibly a response to broader market developments.

Meanwhile, since May 26, ADA has shown signs of stabilization, fluctuating between $0.74 and $0.76. This suggests ongoing uncertainty or price consolidation. As Cardano continues to trade sideways, an analyst has outlined his expectations for its next major move.

Potential Hinges on Market-Wide Expansion

On X, crypto analyst Egrag Crypto has shared a measured but skeptical view on Cardano (ADA), questioning its profitability from current levels despite acknowledging its long-term potential.

A central part of Egrag’s argument hinges on market cap dynamics. He outlines a hypothetical scenario in which Cardano reaches a $500 billion market cap. To sustain that valuation while maintaining a 5% share of the total cryptocurrency market, the overall crypto market would need to grow to $10 trillion.

Looking back at ADA’s past performance, Egrag notes that even at its peak in 2021—when Cardano was among the most talked-about and widely traded digital assets—its dominance never exceeded 5%. This historical limitation casts doubt on the likelihood that ADA will significantly outperform.

Image

ADA’s Market Cap Could Barely Reach $500 Billion

Egrag also used historical price patterns to estimate possible future outcomes. He suggests that a $500 billion market cap for ADA could be revisited if the crypto market follows similar trajectories as in previous cycles. At a $500 billion market cap, ADA would be approximately $13.91.

Additionally, if Cardano maintains the current 0.78% dominance at a $10 trillion total market cap, its price would be approximately $2.16 with a $78 billion valuation.

In the previous cycle, Cardano’s market cap spiked significantly, surging from below $580 million, and peaking above the $80 billion mark in 2021. It later entered a prolonged consolidation to this date, now sitting at $27 billion.

Image

This is Not Hating on Cardano

Adding a broader context, Egrag compated between ADA and XRP from the last cycle. His comparison indicates he sees Cardano following a path similar to XRP in the 2021 bull run.

Specifically, at that time, XRP underperformed and failed to break its all-time high while other assets surged. He believes ADA could repeat this pattern in the current cycle.

He references the fact that Cardano has even been mentioned by Donald Trump as part of a potential digital asset stockpile, but questions remain about where meaningful adoption or traction will come from.

Egrag’s key takeaways are clear. First, ADA may not be the most profitable coin from its current price point, especially when compared to other mid-cap assets with more room to grow.

Second, a 10X move to around $7 could happen if the total crypto market cap expands to $10 trillion, which would represent about a 2.3X gain over ADA’s previous all-time high. Cardano would need to surge approximately 831.76% to reach $7 from $0.7511.

Third, if the market does not reach that level of expansion, ADA may continue to face challenges in regaining dominance and delivering strong returns.

Broader Market Conditions Still Key to ADA’s Performance

Elsewhere, YouTuber and analyst Alex Becker recently presented a contrasting view on Cardano, suggesting in a video that ADA could outperform Solana in the current cycle, potentially offering a 5x to 8x return, which would value it near $6.10.

While he acknowledged Ethereum as a safer asset, he identified ADA, along with Sui and other mid-cap tokens, as high-risk, high-reward opportunities. Despite past criticisms of the Cardano community, Becker disclosed accumulating ADA during market lows and previously projected a rise to $5.

Here’s How Much XRP is Up vs. Bitcoin, Ethereum, and SOL Since Trump Took Office

0

Since Donald Trump returned to office, XRP has experienced a significant surge, outpacing top rivals like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana.

Notably, XRP declined by 5.5% over the past week, dropping 9.7% over the last 14 days. A breakdown on May 23 led XRP to fall below the $2.35 support level, eventually sliding to $2.24 by May 28. Attempts to reclaim bullish momentum were capped around the $2.35 zone.

While this short-term performance has been unimpressive, XRP proponents are taking solace in how far the asset has come, especially since pro-crypto Donald Trump became president.

XRP Beats Bitcoin Overall

Specifically, XRP has risen from approximately $0.50 on Election Day in November 2024 to around $2.29 at the time of this writing. This marks an increase of over 350% in the last six months. Meanwhile, other top XRP rivals like Bitcoin have posted below 60% gains during this time.

Notably, Ethereum rose by 10%, and Solana climbed only 9% during the same period. XRP community commentator Zach Rector drew attention to this divergence in a Wednesday tweet.

He made this side-by-side comparison to dismiss concerns about XRP’s ongoing underperformance amid Bitcoin creating multiple peaks above $110K this month. At the same time, XRP remains largely in the same place.

This performance gap highlights XRP’s relative strength during the current administration’s tenure, even as it continues to trade below its January 2018 all-time high of $3.40.

Price Volatility and Market Reactions

Notably, XRP briefly touched $3.31 on January 18, 2025, just before Trump’s inauguration, but it failed to surpass its all-time high. Following this, the price dipped massively following several geopolitical developments.

On February 25, XRP temporarily dipped below $2.20 after Trump announced new tariffs targeting several global industries. The market responded with caution, causing the asset to hit a low of $1.79 by April 9 before stabilizing. Since then, XRP has traded within a sideways consolidation pattern, maintaining levels near $2.30.

Trump’s Political Shift Favors Crypto Sector

Under President Trump’s current administration, the cryptocurrency sector has seen notable regulatory shifts. Many policies established under President Biden have been rolled back, and a new wave of crypto-friendly initiatives has been introduced. Legislative proposals such as the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and a Digital Asset Stockpile are now under review. These measures aim to manage Bitcoin assets acquired through forfeiture proceedings.

Additionally, Trump has appointed Paul Atkins to lead the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to shift from previous regulatory approaches. The move reflects the administration’s alignment with pro-crypto perspectives after the digital asset sector increasingly channeled financial support toward Trump and like-minded lawmakers.

Technical Patterns Still Point to Further XRP Growth

Despite XRP’s recent price stagnation, analysts remain optimistic based on technical indicators. Analyst EGRAG highlighted a bullish “W” pattern on the 2-month market cap chart in November 2023, which fully formed by January 2025 with a market cap of $195 billion.

EGRAG projects a breakout above the neckline could push XRP’s market cap between $270 billion and $1.5 trillion. His initial target aligns with the Fibonacci 1.618 level at $270 billion, while a more aggressive forecast suggests potential gains up to $1.5 trillion, implying a 600% increase from current levels.

Nasdaq-listed VivoPower To Buy and Hold XRP After Saudi Prince Met with Trump

Nasdaq-listed VivoPower International has launched what is believed to be the world’s first XRP-based crypto asset treasury strategy among publicly listed companies.

Specifically, the company raised $121 million in a private placement led by Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia. The shares were at $6.05, above their last Nasdaq closing.

According to the press statement, the capital will go toward acquiring and holding XRP and establishing a dedicated digital asset treasury. Additionally, the company plans to build a decentralized finance (DeFi) team, reduce corporate debt, and expand its blockchain infrastructure.

This marks a significant moment for institutional XRP adoption and mirrors MicroStrategy’s Bitcoin-focused playbook.

Royal Backing After Strategic Talks with Trump

Interestingly, the deal follows Prince Abdulaziz’s recent meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump and his group during a visit to Saudi Arabia. The timing coincides with talks that XRP could be one of the five crypto assets in Trump’s proposed United States Digital Asset Stockpile.

Prince Abdulaziz, a long-term XRP holder, expressed confidence in VivoPower’s mission to contribute to the XRP Ledger (XRPL) ecosystem and real-world blockchain applications. He said this was the right moment for digital asset infrastructure to expand globally, including in Saudi Arabia.

Ripple Veteran Joins as Advisor

Further strengthening the XRP strategy, Adam Traidman, an ex-Ripple board member, has joined VivoPower’s Board of Advisors as chairman. Traidman also participated in the investment round.

He called the move a forward-looking step that reflects growing institutional conviction in XRPL’s real-world use cases, setting XRP up for deeper integration in financial infrastructure.

XRPL-Focused Growth and Global Spin-offs

VivoPower’s transformation into an XRP-based crypto asset company will also support the upcoming spin-offs of its subsidiaries: Tembo, an electric vehicle division, and Caret Digital, a power-to-X digital mining firm.

Executive Chairman Kevin Chin expressed optimism about using XRP to solve global payment challenges, which the company has faced firsthand through its global operations.

Chin noted that they are fast-tracking both spin-offs for completion by Q3 2025. He also said discussions with Energi Holdings regarding their takeover proposal remain ongoing, now focusing on Tembo.

XRP’s Institutional Use Case Continues to Gain Traction

VivoPower’s strategic pivot confirms growing confidence in XRP as a long-term institutional asset.

Earlier this month, Wellgistics Health secured a $50 million credit facility to adopt XRP as a reserve asset and core component of its real-time payments platform. The move positioned it as one of the first publicly traded healthcare firms to do so. Other companies like Worksport have signaled interest in XRP for reserve purposes.

Hoskinson Slams Optim Finance for Pushing $600M Misuse Smear Campaign Against Cardano

0

A major controversy has rocked the Cardano ecosystem following reports that Optim Finance launched a smear campaign against Cardano and its founder, Charles Hoskinson.

In a series of X posts, Hoskinson claimed that the popular decentralized finance protocol misused about eight figures of customers’ ADA tokens in a slanderous effort against the broader Cardano ecosystem.

$600M Misappropriation Claim

Part of this smear campaign links to an earlier claim that over $600 million worth of ADA had been stolen from the Cardano network. As previously reported, NFT artist Masator Alexander made this allegation earlier this month.

Alexander suggested that Hoskinson inserted a hidden code into Cardano’s Allegra hard fork in 2021, diverting roughly 318 million ADA (worth $619 million at the time) from unclaimed ICO funds.

This allegation stirred a major controversy within the Cardano community, prompting Hoskinson to announce an audit to clarify the matter.

Optim Finance Revealed as Sponsor of $600M Misappropriation Claim

Less than two weeks after this allegation, Optim Finance was revealed as a major sponsor of the smear campaign. According to Hoskinson, the baseless tale of a $600 million theft was fueled by a group linked to a delegated representative (DRep) funded by Optim Finance.

In addition to the $600 million ADA misuse claim, Hoskinson revealed that Optim Finance was involved in other smear campaigns targeting the broader Cardano ecosystem.

He claimed that the DeFi project pushed these defamatory narratives to media outlets and influencers to damage Cardano’s reputation.

“They repeatedly lied about $600 million being stolen. They went out of their way to attempt to spread this message to every influencer possible and media agencies,” Hoskinson remarked.

Hoskinson Cuts Ties with Optim Finance

Meanwhile, he added that Optim Finance has failed to show genuine remorse for its actions after it was caught and called out. Instead, the project ‘blamed everyone,’ according to Hoskinson.

Following the controversy, Hoskinson noted he is cutting ties with Optim Finance, withdrawing his stake from the platform, and encouraging other Cardano enthusiasts to do the same. Some Cardano enthusiasts followed suit, announcing they would no longer back Optim Finance.

In parallel, Hoskinson announced plans to back every major competitor of Optim Finance, including Indigo. He claimed his support for these projects would make them more competitive.

Optim Finance Token Dips 23.7% in 24 Hours

Meanwhile, the price of Optim Finance’s native token (O) experienced a massive dip over the past 48 hours. The token, which had traded around $0.3 earlier this week, fell to a price of $0.22.

With O currently trading at $0.2203, it has plunged by 23.7% in the past day.

Optim Finance Responds

Interestingly, Optim Finance issued a statement acknowledging its mistake of selecting a politically charged DRep. However, it announced its commitment to move forward and also continue to roll out great products.

Here’s How Much XRP Could Rise If the Weekly Bull Flag Plays Out

Crypto analyst EGRAG Crypto recently pointed out a bullish pattern on the XRP weekly chart that could indicate a strong move to the upside.

The analyst discussed this structure in two commentaries. Notably, in his earlier analysis, shared on May 26, he first called attention to the bull flag pattern. According to him, this structure has an impressive 67% to 70% probability of breaking to the upside.

XRP Forms Bull Flag on 1W Chart

Data from his 1W chart showed that the initial rally, which formed the “flagpole” part of the pattern, began in November 2024. During this period, XRP climbed from $0.50 to a multi-year high of $3.30 by January 2025, due in large part to the post-election market enthusiasm in the U.S.

However, after hitting $3.30, XRP lost momentum and started pulling back. Over the past four months, the price has mostly hovered around the low $2 range, making a series of lower lows and consolidating in a tight range.

XRP Forms Bull Flag EGRAG Crypto
XRP Forms Bull Flag | EGRAG Crypto

Interestingly, EGRAG believes this stretch of sideways movement created the “flag” portion of the pattern, suggesting the market is resting before its next move up. However, in this initial commentary, the analyst failed to share any price target.

EGRAG Identifies XRP Price Targets

Meanwhile, the latest analysis, which came up two days later, included some specific price projections. EGRAG confirmed that he slightly adjusted the pattern to reflect the current market setup more accurately. This allowed him to run a measured move calculation to estimate potential targets.

He explained that for long-term crypto projections, he prefers logarithmic charts. These charts handle large price swings more clearly and are especially useful when analyzing fast-moving markets such as crypto.

Using this approach, he calculated three separate targets: a logarithmic estimate, a non-logarithmic (or linear) estimate, and an average of the two. He said the average often works better in crypto because of the market’s lower liquidity compared to stocks.

Specifically, his logarithmic projection came in at around $18, demanding a 689% increase from current levels. Meanwhile, the linear method gave a more modest target of $5.50, a 141% rise. However, taking the average of both, EGRAG arrived at a middle-ground forecast of $11.75, representing a 415% increase.

Moreover, he also accounted for market volatility by applying a 15% to 20% variation range to each target. That brought the potential range for the log-based target to between $20.70 and $21.60. The average target stretched from $13.51 to $14.10, while the linear approach gave a top range of $6.60.

Other Bullish Projections

Interestingly, EGRAG is not the only one projecting these price targets for XRP. Specifically, two months back, crypto founder Edoardo Farina suggested that an XRP run to $20 would only be the beginning of the asset’s uptrend. Also, XRP critic Davinci Jeremie also believes XRP has the potential to reach $20+ this year.

Meanwhile, in April, market analyst Papa projected a possible run to $14, citing a bullish Fibonacci extension. Market Expert JD also predicted that the $14 mark could be XRP’s minimal target after a bullish breakout. Currently, XRP trades for $2.28, down 1.03% in the last 24 hours.

Eric Trump Says 0.1 Bitcoin Could Be Worth a Fortune Soon

Eric Trump, President Donald Trump’s son, has encouraged investors to get started on Bitcoin, suggesting even a fraction could be worth a fortune.

On May 27, during the second day of the Bitcoin 2025 Conference in Las Vegas, a panel discussed the appeal of fractional ownership of Bitcoin.

Is 0.1 Bitcoin Worth It?

With Bitcoin currently trading at $107,645 per coin, several everyday investors find it too expensive to purchase. The conversation bordered on whether investing in just 0.1 BTC, worth $10,764 today, still holds value for the average investor.

Essentially, the discussion, moderated by Aaron Arnold of the Altcoin Daily Show, tackled concerns that many potential investors now feel priced out of Bitcoin.

Arnold highlighted how people often express doubt about buying fractional amounts, wondering if small holdings are even worthwhile now that the price of one full Bitcoin has surpassed six figures.

Donald Trump Jr. Encourages Participation

In response, Donald Trump Jr., businessman and son of President Donald Trump, encouraged investors to get in with whatever they have. He explained that even a small investment can spark real interest and deeper understanding.

According to him, once someone owns Bitcoin, no matter the amount, they tend to follow the market more closely and learn how the system works.

He also noted that people have always claimed Bitcoin was “too expensive,” whether it was worth $1,000, $10,000, or $50,000. To him, what matters most is simply getting involved.

Eric Trump Predicts 0.1 BTC Could be Worth a Fortune

Adding to this, Eric Trump pointed out how global demand for Bitcoin is booming. He said he and his brother travel constantly, and he said they see firsthand how everyone, from royal families in the Middle East to major corporations, wants to hold Bitcoin.

He stressed that interest in Bitcoin isn’t limited to America, as it spans across continents, from Asia and Africa to Europe. Sovereign wealth funds, financial institutions, and private offices are all jumping in. He noted the recent accumulation trend of companies like GameStop and Trump Media.

According to Eric, “0.1 Bitcoin is going to be worth an absolute fortune.” He believes that people should not feel left out just because they can’t afford a whole coin. Bitcoin was built to be bought in pieces. He noted that the key is to get in early and start building exposure, no matter how small the amount.

Speaking further, he also shared a conversation he had with Simon Gerovich of Metaplanet, who told him that finding Bitcoin on exchanges is getting harder by the day.

Eric pointed out that over-the-counter desks now hold less Bitcoin than ever, while demand keeps climbing. To him, this shows a clear trend that people want Bitcoin, and they don’t want to sell it.

The Bitcoin Pizza Story

Mike Ho, from American Bitcoin, referenced the famous Bitcoin pizza story. He reminded the audience that it once took 10,000 Bitcoins to buy two pizzas. Back then, 0.1 Bitcoin would have been nearly worthless, but today, it could buy 1,000 pizzas.

He urged people to begin accumulating Bitcoin, even if it’s just a small amount, suggesting that in the future, 0.1 BTC might be enough to buy a car, a home, or even a plane.

Here’s Who Really Benefits from Suppressing XRP Price: Pundit Explains

With XRP hovering around $2, discussions about price suppression by hidden entities persist.

In a recent thread, the pseudonymous pundit “Pumpius” attempted to explain the supposed price suppression allegedly holding XRP back. According to him, XRP isn’t like a typical cryptocurrency by design. He claimed XRP’s role as financial infrastructure makes it both too valuable and too threatening to be allowed to “moon” just yet.

Unlike meme coins that surge on hype or utility-less tokens riding ETF momentum, XRP offers tangible utility. Specifically, it enables real-time cross-border settlement with no need for pre-funding.

Pumpius argues that this critical utility makes XRP a direct threat to traditional financial systems, including SWIFT, banks, and even stablecoin issuers.

XRP Suppressed Prices Serve the Builders

According to Pumpius, XRP’s persistently low price isn’t accidental but strategic. He argues that key institutions are actively accumulating XRP while keeping retail interest minimal.

“Who benefits from a cheap XRP?” he asks. In his view, the answer includes central banks, private liquidity providers, and global payment processors, entities quietly building on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) infrastructure while enjoying low on-demand liquidity costs and cheap access to future financial rails.

Pumpius claims that keeping the asset undervalued ensures reduced retail speculation, a lower regulatory spotlight, and institutional control before the public catches on.

Legal Fog as a Suppression Tool

Meanwhile, one of the most controversial points in the thread is the role of the SEC lawsuit against Ripple. According to him, the legal drama may not be a straightforward legal battle over securities classification.

Instead, Pumpius presents it as a perfect cover, a way to suppress interest in XRP and delay adoption long enough for institutions to gain a foothold.

He noted that Ripple has inked deals with over 40 financial entities, including governments and banks in the UK, UAE, and Singapore. It has also launched digital currency pilots in Palau and collaborated with the Digital Pound Foundation.

Given that all this occurred while Ripple’s lawsuit with the SEC remains, Pumpius believes it is further evidence of a smokescreen around XRP.

“The Price Isn’t Broken; It’s Locked”

Beyond Ripple, the XRP Ledger ecosystem is quietly expanding. Pumpius cited platforms like Doppler Finance, which offer on-chain yields and decentralize functions traditionally dominated by hedge funds and asset managers.

According to the thread, these innovations represent a deeper threat to the financial establishment beyond just replacing payment rails, but redefining entire asset management structures.

Ultimately, Pumpius stressed that the current price stagnation is part of a broader accumulation strategy by elites. The “suppression,” he says, is temporary, meant to shake out weak hands and limit retail participation.

“They suppress what they can’t stop until they control it,” he states.

Bitcoin Maxi Ian Carroll Says He’s Learning About XRP

0

Bitcoin proponent Ian Carroll, the host of the Carroll Show, provides insights into his understanding of XRP, stating that he is still learning about the asset.

Carroll shared his views on XRP during a brief interview at the Bitcoin 2025 conference in Las Vegas. In an interview by Merlin Crypto, Carroll acknowledged that he is familiar with the buzz around XRP.

Despite being familiar with XRP, he disclosed that he had not conducted ‘deep-dive’ research, which could help him understand the coin’s use cases, tokenomics, and technology.

Not Invested in XRP

Notably, Carroll revealed that several XRP community members have long persuaded him to invest in XRP. However, he has not invested in XRP because he lacks sufficient knowledge about the coin.

Carroll expressed skepticism toward cryptocurrencies launched after Bitcoin, including XRP, emphasizing that he approaches them with scrutiny whenever he learns about them.

According to him, he is deliberate about where he spends his energy, especially when it comes to learning about certain crypto projects. In Carroll’s view, his primary motivation is not to make a profit from cryptocurrencies, indicating that he is not in just it for financial gain.

Current Learning Focus

Currently, his primary focus is on learning about the world’s two largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Although Bitcoin and Ethereum are currently his primary focus for learning, Carroll noted that he is also learning a bit about XRP along the way.

With Carroll still yet to fully understand XRP, the interviewer, Abdullah Nassif, aka Abs, weighed in and briefly explained the coin’s use case. Abs noted XRP’s core goal is to enable people to transfer money instantly and effortlessly, just as data moves today.

He emphasized that XRP aims to make transferring money as seamless as sending text messages to friends and family.

Carroll’s Support for Bitcoin

For context, Carroll has been a vocal supporter of Bitcoin, stating that the premier cryptocurrency is “inevitable.” He disclosed that he only owns Bitcoin and does not appear interested in owning other cryptocurrencies.

In an X post earlier this year, he promised to commit significant funds to Bitcoin and no other cryptocurrency. Despite being a Bitcoin bull, he encouraged his 1.2 million X followers to educate themselves about cryptos and make their own financial decisions.

As for him, Bitcoin remains his only focus. However, based on his recent interview, Carroll might be open to an updated perspective in his investment strategy.

XRP Big Move Could Shock Doubters Who Believed XRP Would Stay Low Forever: Pundit

XRP might be on the verge of a major run that could take many by surprise, especially those who’ve grown doubtful after watching its price hold steady for a while.

According to crypto commentator Xena, investors who ignore the bigger picture risk missing out, as they focus too much on the lack of immediate price movement instead of the steady progress behind the scenes.

She mentioned this while highlighting a recent report by TheStreet. The report called attention to growing institutional interest in crypto, and XRP in particular. It featured comments from Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse, who mentioned why crypto ETFs have gained so much traction lately.

XRP Price Stagnant Despite Bullish Fundamentals

He explained that for years, big-money investors, like pension funds and endowments, had no easy way to access digital assets. Their only options were either to hold crypto themselves or go through exchanges, neither of which suited traditional firms.

Crypto ETFs changed that, opening the door for Wall Street to get involved in a more familiar and regulated way. Garlinghouse also pointed out that the rise of these ETFs is helping to bring more structure and legitimacy to the entire crypto space, much like gold ETFs did in the past.

In recent weeks, several XRP-related investment products have hit the market. These include futures-based ETFs from firms like Teucrium Investment Advisors and Volatility Shares, as well as XRP futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

Although none of these are spot ETFs yet, nine such applications are still waiting for approval, showing growing momentum in XRP’s corner.

XRP Run Could Shock Those Who Believed Price Would Remain Low

Despite this, XRP’s price has remained relatively stable, currently trading around $2.30. Xena’s take comes against this backdrop. She expressed disbelief that so many people can’t see what’s happening right in front of them.

In her view, the market isn’t reacting to news like it used to, as strong developments don’t lead to instant price jumps anymore. She pointed out that this is not just the case with XRP but with most major cryptocurrencies these days.

Xena believes this lull has deceived people into thinking XRP will always stay this low. She strongly disagrees. To her, the ongoing changes, especially the growing role of institutions, are setting the stage for a big move.

According to her, when XRP finally takes off, people who dismissed it now will be the ones wondering how they didn’t see it coming. She suggests they will look back and realize the clues were there all along, they just didn’t believe it.

Bullish XRP Price Projections

Her view echoes bullish projections from other market commentators. For instance, market analyst EGRAG Crypto has persistently championed a possible XRP rally to $27, citing several technical catalysts, including XRP’s potential to repeat its historic 2017 performance.

In addition, more ambitious price targets such as $100 and $1,000 have even emerged. Interestingly, community commentator BarriC believes XRP could surge to $100 this year. Last month, Matthew Brienen, the CryptoGuard COO, projected that XRP could hit $1,000 in the next 10 years.

However, several investors remain skeptical, with most of them calling attention to the upsurge required for these targets and the market cap implications. Despite this, Individuals like Xena believe these skeptical investors would face the biggest shock when XRP claims some of these lofty prices

Veteran Analyst Says Bitcoin Is Programmed for Surge to $400,000: Here’s Why

0

Kyle Chassé’s analysis shows that Bitcoin price follows global M2 money supply growth with a 90-day lag, indicating potential future gains.

While Bitcoin has shown slight short-term weakness over the past 24 hours, it remains within a strong trading range. In recent days, the price has stabilized, generally fluctuating between $108,000 and $110,000.

This period of consolidation may represent a pause before a larger move, according to analysts monitoring Bitcoin’s relationship with global monetary trends.

Tracking Bitcoin Price Against Global Money Supply

In a tweet, market analyst Kyle Chassé highlighted Bitcoin’s daily price on the BITSTAMP exchange alongside the global M2 money supply, which measures cash, checking deposits, and near-money assets worldwide.

His analysis uses a 90-day offset on the M2 data to compare earlier money supply trends with Bitcoin price movements. This offset reveals that Bitcoin’s price tends to follow the trajectory of global liquidity with approximately a three-month delay.

Bitcoin’s price history highlights significant volatility, including a peak above $109,000 in January and a drop below $75,000 in early April.

Following that dip, Bitcoin resumed an upward trend that broadly aligned with rising global M2 levels, albeit with variations in timing and magnitude. The global monetary expansion has coincided with Bitcoin’s renewed gains, despite ongoing price fluctuations.

Chassé projects that Bitcoin could eventually reach $400,000, based on this correlation. Reaching that target would require an increase of roughly 270% from the current level near $108,000, a scenario he believes is plausible if global M2 growth continues.

Previous Confirmation on the Correlation

Earlier in May, Julien Bittel, Head of Macro Research at Global Macro Investor, supported a similar thesis. He noted that global M2 acts as a 12-week leading indicator for Bitcoin price movements.

According to Bittel’s data, increases in global liquidity have consistently preceded Bitcoin rallies by about three months over the past two years.

Between early 2023 and early 2024, global M2 rose from $98 trillion to just over $108 trillion. Bitcoin’s price mirrored this trend, climbing above $100,000 by late 2024. A mid-2024 pause in M2 growth coincided with Bitcoin’s range-bound behavior and its drop below $80,000, aligning with a broader stagnation in global liquidity.

Since late 2024, global M2 has surged again, surpassing $111 trillion. Based on Bittel’s 12-week lead model, this points to potential strength in Bitcoin prices extending into mid-2025.
