Here’s XRP Price Target as Analyst Expects XRP Market Cap to Hit $1.5T

Crypto analyst EGRAG believes the XRP market cap is on the cusp of a major breakout that could push its market cap as high as $1.5 trillion.

In his latest update, he called attention to the reasoning behind this bold prediction. Notably, EGRAG pointed to a technical chart pattern and previous price cycles that suggest XRP might be on the edge of a massive move.

XRP Market Cap Forms W Formation

Back in November 2023, he identified a “W” formation for the XRP market cap chart on the 2-month timeframe. This pattern, which some regard as a double-bottom structure, often indicates a shift from bearish to bullish momentum.

Data from EGRAG’s chart shows the first half of the pattern formed when XRP’s market cap dropped from $128 billion in January 2018 to the first bottom of $5 billion in March 2020 and then bounced back up to $89 billion in April 2021.

Meanwhile, the second leg materialized when the market cap dipped from the $89 billion high to a second bottom of $13.88 billion by June 2022 and then rallied again to $195 billion in January 2025. While EGRAG highlighted the developing pattern in November 2023, it formed fully in January 2025.

Now, with the pattern fully shaped, the XRP market cap just needs to break above the neckline. If it does, the market analyst expects the market cap to soar.

XRP Market Cap Targets Range from $270B to $1.5T

He outlined two main projections for where the market cap could go next, one based on a non-logarithmic scale and another based on a logarithmic view.

Specifically, the non-log target sits around $270 billion, which lines up with the Fibonacci 1.618 level. However, on the log scale, the picture becomes much more aggressive, with a possible target of $1.5 trillion, nearly $500 billion beyond the 1.618 Fib mark.

Interestingly, EGRAG also takes pointers from historical data. He noted that in the past cycle, the XRP market cap climbed by 242% from the Fib 1.0 level to Fib 1.618.

Using that same growth, he projects a move from $195 billion to $450 billion and potentially beyond. He even considered a 600% increase based on higher cycle extrapolation, pushing the cap up to $978 billion, and, if momentum builds further, up to $1.5 trillion.

Corresponding XRP Price Targets

EGRAG presented the corresponding price targets Based on XRP’s current circulating supply of 58.68 billion tokens. First, if the market cap hits $270 billion, XRP would trade at around $4.60.

However, at a $450 billion market cap, the price rises to $7.66. Meanwhile, a jump to $978 billion would push the price to roughly $16.65. Further, if XRP reaches the full $1.5 trillion market cap, its price could hit $25.56.

Notably, while EGRAG confirmed that he doesn’t rely heavily on market cap as a primary indicator, since it can mislead new investors by giving the wrong impression about real liquidity or value, he still sees value in using it to identify potential price targets.

He also reminded investors to stay grounded. Even with these exciting projections, he advised market participants to secure profits when they can and avoid falling into the trap of greed. Currently, XRP price changes hands at $2.3, corresponding to a market cap of $135.3 billion.

Here’s How Much XRP You Need to Retire by 2040

Some investors believe they could retire by amassing and holding onto their XRP tokens, but this would depend on how high XRP soars in the future.

Currently, XRP changes hands at $2.35, still struggling at the $2 mark despite Bitcoin’s latest uptick. However, this underperformance has not impacted investors’ sentiment. As optimism grows around XRP’s future, many investors are holding on tightly. Importantly, these investors hope the asset will become their ticket to financial freedom.

XRP Investors Eyeing Financial Freedom

Notably, community commentators like Edoardo Farina have persistently championed this narrative. Interestingly, Farina has insisted that holding at least 10,000 XRP could be enough to reach that goal one day.

Meanwhile, to better understand what it might take to retire with XRP by 2040, we looked at a few long-term price predictions.

We aimed to find out how much XRP an investor would need to reach different retirement goals: $500,000, $1 million, and $5 million. For this, we asked two leading AI tools, ChatGPT and Google Gemini, as well as checked in with analysts from crypto forecasting site Telegaon.

How Much XRP You Need to Hold to Retire by 2014

Specifically, ChatGPT gave a forecast of $22 per XRP by 2040. According to the chatbot, this rise could come from XRP’s growing role in global payments, better regulatory clarity in the U.S., and increased use of the token in financial markets.

Based on this price, an investor who wants to retire with $500,000 would need 22,727 XRP. Notably, buying that many tokens today would cost around $53,409 at the current XRP price of $2.35.

However, for a $1 million target, you’d need 45,454 XRP, which would run about $106,818 at today’s prices.

Further, those aiming higher at $5 million would need to hold 227,272 XRP, which would cost them roughly $534,000 right now.

Google Gemini’s and Telegaon Analysts’ Forecasts

Meanwhile, Google’s Gemini presented an even more optimistic prediction, suggesting XRP could hit $150 by 2040. The AI tool pointed to massive institutional adoption, XRP’s potential role in replacing systems like SWIFT, and its use in central bank digital currency (CBDC) projects as major drivers.

If this forecast plays out, reaching retirement becomes a lot more affordable. To get to $500,000, you’d need just 3,333 XRP, which would cost around $7,833 today at the prevalent price of $2.35.

However, if you’re aiming for $1 million, you’d need 6,666 XRP, demanding an investment of about $15,666 today.

Those eyeing a $5 million retirement fund would need 33,333 XRP, which can be picked up now for roughly $78,333.

Interestingly, Telegaon analysts are the most bullish, predicting XRP could reach a peak of $160.34 by 2040. If that happens, the amount of XRP needed for retirement drops even lower.

To hit a $500,000 goal at this price, you’d need 3,118 XRP, which you could buy today for about $7,328.

Doubling that to $1 million would require 6,236 XRP, costing around $14,656.

A $5 million retirement would take 31,183 XRP, which would cost about $73,281 at current prices.

XRP Drop Zone: Expert Sees a 1,500% “Crash” That Could Push XRP to $27

Market analyst EGRAG is expecting a massive XRP price “crash,” citing its historical performance, but there’s a twist.

XRP has spent the last four months hovering near the lower end of the $2 range, with little sign of momentum in either direction. This lack of movement has left many investors feeling uneasy, unsure whether the token is aiming for a breakout or bracing for another lull.

However, while short-term traders focus on daily fluctuations, prominent market analyst EGRAG Crypto looks at the bigger picture, ignoring what he calls “short-term noise.”

EGRAG recently shared his latest thoughts on XRP’s price action, pointing to the monthly chart as the clearest way to cut through the day-to-day noise. Interestingly, the analyst leveraged a unique approach in the form of a reverse chart.

XRP’s Historical Performance

For context, on this chart, what appears to be a price drop is actually a rise, and when the analyst mentions XRP “falling” below the 21 Exponential Moving Average (EMA), he is actually describing a push above the pivotal technical level.

Citing XRP’s historical performance, EGRAG broke its price behavior into three major cycles, each featuring an initial price spike, a retracement, and then a subsequent upsurge.

Specifically, in Cycle 1 from 2017 to 2018, XRP crossed above the 21 EMA and surged roughly 5,500%. After that big move, it pulled back to touch the EMA before climbing again, this time by 2,500%. While he describes these moves as “drops” due to his reverse chart, they were actually major upward moves in price.

XRP 1M Reverse Chart EGRAG Crypto
XRP 1M Reverse Chart | EGRAG Crypto

Meanwhile, Cycle 2, which occurred from 2020 to 2021, followed a similar pattern but with smaller gains. XRP broke above the 21 EMA and rallied 150%, pulled back again, and then climbed another 500%. EGRAG sees these repeated phases as a pattern that XRP could follow once more in the current cycle.

XRP Could Hit $27 in the Current Cycle

Now in Cycle 3, XRP has already crossed above the 21 EMA again. So far, EGRAG estimates the ongoing move represents a 430% rise. Right now, he believes XRP is in the middle of a retracement, which should bring the price back in line with the 21 EMA. If the price stays above $2, he expects the EMA will slope downward to meet XRP soon.

According to him, what happens next is extremely important. Based on past trends, XRP could be in for another big leg up. If the current cycle plays out like the first, XRP might reach as high as $46. If it follows the second cycle instead, a move to $12 is more likely.

Taking the average of these two scenarios, EGRAG lands on a projected gain of 1,500%. That would put XRP at a target of around $30. However, he personally sees $27 as a more realistic level.

The market analyst has persistently projected this $27 price. Most recently, he suggested XRP could hit the $27 mark in 60 days, citing its 2017 run. Currently, XRP changes hands at $2.29, down 2% in the past 24 hours. To reach the $27 price from this level, XRP must rise 1,079%.

Pundit Says $8 XRP This Year Is Big, But Don’t Get Too Excited

XRP investors eyeing an $8 price target this year may be celebrating too soon, according to Xena, a widely followed voice in the community.

In a recent post, Xena questioned whether an $8 XRP should truly be considered a major achievement, especially for a coin that has long been hyped as having far greater potential.

From Belief to Disappointment?

Xena noted that while $8 is certainly an improvement from the current $2 range, it still falls far short of the life-changing targets many in the XRP Army have envisioned for over half a decade.

She compared XRP’s potential trajectory to coins like Solana (SOL) and Quant (QNT). Specifically, she highlighted how these tokens surged from under a dollar to two- and three-digit prices in a relatively short time, something XRP has yet to replicate.

“What would be so special about XRP if $8 is what they expect?” she asked.

What an $8 Price Means for XRP Holders

XRP is trading at $2.31, down 1.2% over the past 24 hours and more than 48% below its all-time high. A surge to $8 would represent a 245% gain from current levels. At that price, a $60,000 investment today could grow to over $206,000. Larger investors with $300,000 in XRP could surpass the million-dollar mark.

However, the $8 target may have a limited impact on retail investors with smaller holdings. Over 5 million XRP wallets hold about $1,000 worth of the token. At $8 per XRP, those portfolios would rise to roughly $4,000. While it is a solid return, it is far from life-changing.

This has prompted some holders to dream bigger, imagining a future where XRP hits $1,000. In that scenario, a $1,000 investment today could be worth around $500,000. However, according to Matthew Brienen, an executive at CryptoGuard, such lofty valuations may take a decade or more to materialize.

Influencer Bags vs. Average Investor Reality

In her commentary, Xena also targeted XRP influencers, those who have spent years promoting XRP content, building profitable YouTube channels, and acquiring massive XRP holdings while monetizing their platforms. She argued that these personalities are already financially secure thanks to community support, while the average XRP investor is still far from seeing meaningful returns.

According to her, many influencers sit on six-figure XRP holdings accumulated through profits earned from community engagement. Meanwhile, everyday holders may not find an $8 XRP price a life-altering event, especially as accumulating large amounts of XRP is no longer as feasible.

The Bear Knows What’s Coming

Despite her criticisms, Xena struck an optimistic tone toward the end of her post. She suggests that the current consolidation phase is the calm before the storm, and that much of what XRP needs for a true breakout is already in place.

“The bear knows what’s coming,” she said, noting that what XRP did in late 2024 was just the beginning of a much powerful move.

Essentially, Xena is pushing back against the growing number of XRP influencers who now present $8 as a potential generational wealth target. Instead, she is calling for a more consistently optimistic outlook, one that sets targets far beyond $8 and has the potential to truly transform the financial future of many XRP holders.

Pundit Says Smart Money Won’t Flinch When XRP Dips from $12 to $6

Although XRP lingers around $2, speculators in the community are constantly pondering the potential situation when the coin hits a double-digit price.

A recent post by crypto researcher “Ripple Van Winkle” triggered fresh discussion among XRP holders. He argued that if XRP were to rise to $12 and then drop to $6, retail investors might panic. However, he believes smart money would see it as a golden opportunity to accumulate.

This commentary suggests that $6 could become the new support level around which XRP consolidates after a monumental run into the double digits. While retail investors may focus on the 50% drop in value, Winkle believes others would see it as a discounted entry point.

His proposition gained traction, sparking optimism and caution among members of the XRP community.

When XRP ATH, Let Alone $12?

X user Jenny Lemaire acknowledged Winkle’s perspective but raised concerns about the time it would take for XRP to reach $12.

Notably, XRP has been trading below its all-time high for seven and a half years. The prospect of setting a new high seems more likely than ever this year. Yet the wait continues. Amid this uncertainty, some XRP proponents are already entertaining a future where the asset trades in double digits.

Meanwhile, another commenter argued that XRP is no longer retail-driven and that most people still don’t grasp the full scale of what’s coming. This view leans on the belief that XRP’s momentum is now powered by institutional forces, which may prevent such a dramatic dip from $12 to $6.

Veteran Holders Voice Frustration

However, X user Randhir Gangsi tempered the heated optimism around XRP reaching $12. He pointed out that XRP continues to trade between $2.30 and $2.45, suggesting that price speculation should take a backseat until XRP achieves a new all-time high.

For him, price should follow adoption. So far, he noted, adoption-related news has not translated into price movement.

Long-time investor Marc expressed a similar sentiment. He reflected on waiting over eight years for XRP to regain its all-time high and admitted that if XRP reaches $6, he likely wouldn’t have any holdings left to sell at $12.

His comment suggests he would have taken profits and bid farewell to the market, worn out from holding through losses across multiple past cycles.

Essentially, the community is divided as XRP continues to hover around the $2 mark. Some anticipate explosive growth, while others urge caution against premature price speculation amid continued underperformance.

But When Can XRP Reach $12?

Numerous analysts in the crypto community have suggested the possibility of XRP surpassing $10 this year. However, industry research from notable firms like Bitwise suggests it may take longer.

In its report, Bitwise suggests that the earliest XRP could reach $12 is 2028, under ultra-bull market conditions. Should that fail to materialize, the outlook shifts toward 2030. Analysts at Telegaon share similar perspectives.

Rumble Cloud Partners with TRON DAO to Advance Decentralized Internet Infrastructure

Rumble Cloud, the infrastructure arm of the video platform Rumble, has announced a new collaboration with TRON DAO, one of the largest decentralized autonomous organizations.

Specifically, the partnership aims to bolster internet decentralization by combining TRON’s blockchain ecosystem with Rumble Cloud’s censorship-resistant infrastructure and scalable computing power.

Rumble Cloud to Support TRON’s Infrastructure Goals

Notably, as part of the initial phase of the partnership, Rumble Cloud will provide TRON DAO with access to its cloud services. These include a comprehensive suite of tools such as virtual machines, object and block storage, load balancing, and private cloud capabilities.

The company positions itself as an alternative to traditional cloud giants like AWS and Google Cloud, criticizing their vendor lock-in models and pricing structures. Rumble Cloud offers independent, resilient, and scalable infrastructure for projects aligned with decentralization and free expression.

Chris Pavlovski, CEO of Rumble, stated that blockchain and crypto represent a decentralized internet with the potential to drive innovation. He emphasized that it is an honor for TRON to entrust Rumble and expressed optimism about building a long-term relationship.

Justin Sun, founder of TRON, reaffirmed that they created the platform with a belief in an open, censorship-resistant internet owned by its users. He noted that the collaboration with Rumble Cloud reinforces that commitment.

Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, also praised the Rumble–TRON collaboration in a remark on X.

TRON: Leading in Stablecoin Volume, Now Strengthening Its Backbone

This announcement comes on the heels of TRON’s dominance in the stablecoin market. The network recently reclaimed the top spot as the leading blockchain for Tether (USDT). It accounts for more than 63% of global USDT circulation, with over $150 billion in volume.

With over 308 million user accounts, 10 billion total transactions, and $23 billion in total value locked (TVL) as of May 2025, TRON’s infrastructure requirements are substantial.

Leveraging Rumble Cloud’s enterprise-grade reliability helps reduce single points of failure and supports the network’s mission to remain decentralized and scalable.

The partnership shows the growing need for Web3-native infrastructure that aligns with decentralization values. While many blockchain networks still rely on centralized hosting services, TRON’s move to Rumble Cloud may serve as a blueprint for others seeking independence from conventional hyperscalers.

Rumble Cloud’s foundation in high-volume video streaming gives it an edge in handling real-time, data-intensive workloads. This makes it a powerful ally for blockchain networks prioritizing uptime and freedom from censorship.

Trump Media to Raise $2.5B to Buy Bitcoin for Treasury

Trump Media and Technology Group, the media outlet of US President Donald Trump, has announced plans to raise $2.5 billion to create a Bitcoin treasury.

The Nasdaq-listed firm, under the ticker DJT, noted in a press release that it would raise the funds by employing the MicroStrategy playbook. Specifically, Trump Media has reached an agreement with 50 institutional investors to sell $1.5 billion of its common stock and $1 billion through its 0.00% convertible senior secured note, aggregating to around $2.5 billion.

Trump Media to Buy Bitcoin

The Tuesday release stated that the offering would last until May 29, pending customary closing conditions by the involved parties. Meanwhile, Trump Media would employ the proceeds from the offering to create a strategic Bitcoin reserve.

Notably, Trump Media branded the strategy to buy Bitcoin “one of the largest Bitcoin treasury deals of any public firm,” stating that it brings to a conclusion its earlier announcement of an acquisition fund.

The Trump-owned company will offer its common stocks worth $1.5 billion at the last market price and the $1 billion senior notes at a 35% premium convertible price. The proposed $2.5 billion acquisition would make Trump Media one of the largest publicly traded companies holding the pioneering cryptocurrency.

At the current standings, it would sit fourth in the rankings, only behind MicroStrategy, Marathon Digital, and Twenty One Capital. Trump Media disclosed that Crypto.com and Anchorage Digital will custody its proposed Bitcoin Treasury.

DJT Stock Falls Amid Investor Skepticism

Trump Media is the operator of the Truth Social media platform, streaming platform Truth+, and decentralized finance platform Truth.Fi. Interestingly, its stock took a tumble on Tuesday following the recent announcement, contrary to the stock performances of other firms that have disclosed in the past that they were buying Bitcoin.

DJT fell 6.65% to $24.01 after a double-digit rally in the premarket, as investors pulled their stakes in the company. Part of the skepticism comes from Trump Media’s strategy of neutralizing its shares to fund its Bitcoin Treasury business.

Notably, the Financial Times reported yesterday that Trump’s media firm plans to raise $3 billion to buy Bitcoin. While it denied the speculation, today’s announcement confirms that the report had some element of truth.

Growing Exposure to Bitcoin

Meanwhile, Trump Media joins a constantly growing list of public and private companies buying Bitcoin for their treasuries. It also becomes the latest to adopt MicroStrategy’s playbook to acquire the pioneering cryptocurrency.

Firms like Marathon Digital, Metaplanet, and the Blockchain Group have all taken to offering investors bonds to raise funds for more Bitcoin acquisition. Strategy recently raised $2.1 billion to increase its massive stash, buying 4,020 BTC ($427 million) yesterday.

Notably, the strategy does not sit well with some prominent market users. John Arnold, the co-chair of Arnold Ventures, frowned at the new trend of public companies buying Bitcoin when exchange-traded funds (ETFs) exist.

USDC Stablecoin Issuer Circle Files for IPO on NYSE

0

USDC stablecoin issuer Circle Internet Group has officially filed to go public on the New York Stock Exchange through an initial public offering (IPO).

According to a press release, Circle plans to offer a total of 24 million shares of its Class A common stock, which will trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker CRCL. The stablecoin issuer will offer 9.6 million of the 24 million common shares, while its existing stakeholders will sell the remaining 14.4 million shares.

How Much Circle and Its Existing Stakeholders Will Raise

The press release suggested that each share could trade within a price range of $24 to $26. If the stock trades at $26, Circle could raise approximately $250 million through the offering, while its existing shareholders could receive roughly $374.4 million for their stake.

Circle has also granted underwriters a standard 30-day option to purchase up to 3.6 million additional shares to cover over-allotments.

Roles of Top Financial Entities

Per the press release, three prominent financial institutions, including Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, and Citigroup, will serve as the joint lead active bookrunners. Notably, the additional bookrunners also include Deutsche Bank Securities, Barclays, and Société Générale.

Circle’s IPO co-managers include Santander, BNY Capital Markets, Needham & Company, Canaccord Genuity, and Oppenheimer & Co. Roberts & Ryan, Drexel Hamilton, Mischler Financial Group, Inc., and AmeriVet Securities will serve as junior co-managers.

Meanwhile, Circle confirmed it has filed a registration statement with the U.S. SEC relating to the IPO. With the registration still pending, Circle said it will not commence the sale of its common A stock or accept offers from interested investors.

Ark Invest to Buy $150M of Circle’s Shares

In an S-1 document filed with the SEC today, Circle disclosed that Cathie Wood’s Ark Invest is interested in purchasing up to $150 million of its common A stock.

With this $150 million offer, Ark Invest could acquire around 5,769,230 (5.76 million) units of Circle’s shares from the IPO. This estimate is based on the highest price target of $26, at which Circle plans to sell each share.

Rumors About Circle’s Potential Sale to Ripple or Coinbase

The development comes amid reports that Ripple and Coinbase are pushing to acquire Circle. Last month, Bloomberg reported that Circle rejected Ripple’s initial offer of around $5 billion for being insufficient. Subsequent reports also suggested that Ripple increased its bid to roughly $11 billion.

Responding to the rumors, Circle refuted reports about its potential sale, emphasizing that its focus revolves around its long-term goals, which include going public.

Cantor Fitzgerald Kicks off $2B Bitcoin Lending Program

Cantor Fitzgerald has officially kicked off its $2 billion Bitcoin-backed lending program with its first deals involving FalconX and Maple Finance.

This is according to a Bloomberg report today. Specifically, FalconX, a prime brokerage for crypto, confirmed that it secured a loan facility backed by Bitcoin as part of a wider agreement with Cantor.

The firm expects to tap more than $100 million from this new line of credit. Maple Finance also announced that it received the first portion of a similar loan from Cantor, as highlighted in Bloomberg’s report.

These early deals show that crypto lending is making a comeback. The space took a hit in 2022 when companies like Celsius and BlockFi collapsed. However, signs of life have recently returned.

Importantly, Bitcoin-focused companies such as Blockstream have landed major investments, and Xapo Bank started offering Bitcoin-backed loans earlier this year. Now, Cantor’s lending program adds momentum to this recovery.

Cantor Fitzgerald’s Involvement in Bitcoin

Nonetheless, this isn’t Cantor Fitzgerald’s first move into Bitcoin. The firm has spent the past year steadily building its presence in the crypto scene. In July 2024, Cantor introduced its plan to offer $2 billion in Bitcoin loans, promising to expand the program in stages and work closely with trusted Bitcoin custodians.

By April 2025, Cantor partnered with Tether, SoftBank, and Bitfinex to launch Twenty One Capital, a $3.6 billion venture aiming to hold more than 42,000 Bitcoin. This initiative was structured using a $200 million SPAC through Cantor Equity Partners. The firm plans to raise even more funds for additional Bitcoin purchases.

Also, in May 2025, Cantor Equity Partners acquired close to $459 million worth of Bitcoin through a merger with Twenty One Capital.

The firm’s leadership said they would keep investing in Bitcoin, even if prices fell sharply. Cantor also holds a major position in MicroStrategy, with around $1.9 billion in shares, showing strong faith in the future of Bitcoin. Last October, its CEO suggested that Bitcoin ranks alongside oil and gold as commodities.

Vivek’s Strive Deepens Bitcoin Ties Amid Growing Institutional Adoption

Meanwhile, Cantor is not the only firm doubling down on crypto. Most recently, Investment firm Strive announced raising $750 million through a private investment round. The firm plans to build its Bitcoin treasury and pursue strategies designed to outperform Bitcoin itself.

Strive’s approach involves buying undervalued biotech firms, picking up distressed crypto claims like those tied to Mt. Gox, and investing in discounted Bitcoin-backed credit.

Other major financial institutions are also stepping into the space. The Bank of Montreal invested $150 million in Bitcoin ETFs, mostly through BlackRock’s fund. Barclays disclosed $131 million in similar investments.

BNY Mellon recently picked up $68 million in MicroStrategy shares. Also, several big U.S. banks, including Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Wells Fargo, and UBS, are expected to start offering spot Bitcoin ETF services by the end of the year.

Standard Chartered Predicts Bitcoin Price by the End of 2025

Standard Chartered’s recent report forecasts Bitcoin reaching major milestones by the end of 2025, outperforming both Ethereum and Solana.

The research, published on May 27, provides a comprehensive five-year price forecast for Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Solana (SOL). The analysis focuses on expected price trajectories and relative valuations from 2025 to 2029.

The projection also comes at a time when Bitcoin has hit an all-time high above $111,000. However, following a pullback, the asset is now consolidating around the $109,000 price mark.

Bitcoin Price Prediction

Notably, Bitcoin leads Standard Chartered’s forecasts with significant price appreciation potential. The research projects BTC reaching $200,000 by the end of 2025, rising to $300,000 in 2026, $400,000 in 2027, and peaking at $500,000 by 2028.

Image

This $500,000 level is expected to hold steady through 2029, reflecting confidence in Bitcoin’s role as a dominant digital asset.

From the current price, Bitcoin would need to surge approximately 82% to reach $200,000. Additionally, if Bitcoin reaches $200,000, its market cap would be around $3.82 trillion, assuming the circulating supply remains fairly stable.

This outlook follows previous remarks from Geoffrey Kendrick, Standard Chartered’s head of digital assets, who noted that recent SEC 13F filings support Bitcoin’s trajectory toward $500,000 by 2028.

However, Kendrick acknowledged that direct Bitcoin ETF holdings declined sharply in the first quarter of 2025. For example, the State of Wisconsin Investment Board exited its Bitcoin ETF position, selling roughly 3,400 BTC in the BlackRock iShares Bitcoin Trust.

Despite this ETF dip, Kendrick emphasized that institutional interest in Bitcoin remains strong. Recent filings from Q1 2025 indicate growing accumulation by institutional investors, countering any perception of weakening demand.

Additionally, Kendrick revised his earlier Q2 2025 Bitcoin price forecast upward. He now expects BTC to reach $120,000 by mid-2025, driven by whale accumulation, a strategic shift from U.S. securities to Bitcoin, and rising U.S. treasury term premiums, before advancing toward $200,000 by the end of the year.

Ethereum and Solana Could Exhibit Steady but Slower Growth

Meanwhile, per the recent Standard Chartered prediction, Ethereum’s price could increase steadily but more moderately than Bitcoin. The projections set ETH at $4,000 by the end of 2025, rising to $5,000 in 2026, $6,000 in 2027, and reaching $7,500 by 2028. This $7,500 valuation is expected to hold through 2029.

In comparison, Solana could show solid yet slower gains. The price forecast begins at $275 in 2025, moves up to $310 in 2026, and reaches $350 in 2027. A sharper increase occurs in 2028, with Solana rising to $475, followed by a moderate climb to $500 in 2029.

A Shared Target for Bitcoin Price

Notably, this isn’t the first time a $200,000 Bitcoin prediction has emerged. Last month, analyst Intuit Trading identified Bitcoin’s April 7 crash to $74,000 as the asset’s bottom and projected a bullish trajectory culminating in a new all-time high of $136,000 by July 2025.

Intuit Trading believes Bitcoin is following a faster, more optimistic path, pointing toward a $200,000 price target by July 2025.

Meanwhile, asset managers Bitwise and Alliance Bernstein have set more conservative forecasts, targeting $200,000 for Bitcoin by 2026.

Elsewhere, Dan Gambardello, founder of Crypto Capital Venture, also supports a bullish view, stating that Bitcoin’s bottom is confirmed and conditions are aligning for a rapid rally toward $200,000. Gambardello expects the upcoming move to be swift and surprising, catching many investors off guard, much like previous cycles.
